A fresh map for a fresh year…
Missing caches has been a topic of conversation recently. To rectify this, I manually checked every cache listing within 70km from home – for caches that needed “Needs Maintenance” or “Needs Archive” logs. I found that there are quite a few caches that needed attention from their respective owners or the local community volunteer reviewers. Now one month on, I’ve gone back through my bookmarked list to check on the status of the said caches.
Unfortunately posting a Needs Archived log due to lack of maintenance.
A Needs Maintenance Log was posted on the 16th January, 2017.
The cache has been missing since.
No action has been taken to maintain this cache.

No luck here today on my way back home to Wollongong. I assumed it was on top of the cliff, but could not find anything at all.
#4586 - 13:30; After the business I was attending to in Nowra had wrapped up, it was time for a spot of caching on the way home. I'd collected a couple around Bomaderry, so thought I'd wrap up this leg of the trip with a visit to this 'Motel'. Parked nearby and made the short journey to GZ for a quick find. Collected the resident TB to go to the nation's capital as well. TFTC perry clan
Came here with the Rats after spending the day at the tree top adventure park (which was alot of fun).
Dad had us looking too low to start with but we eventually found it after expanding our search.
We left a couple of travelers. Thanks

Spent the afternoon down at the Tree Adventure place so stopped by here as I had a couple of travelers to drop off. I misread the terrain and soon found the spectacular caves. After regaining some height we soon found the cache with the help of the mini rats.
Thanks
Thanks
After a big day in Kiama yesterday, I had planned for today to be a quiet day at home.
(Un)Fortunately, I woke up early enough to consider heading to Nowra - worth the full day out geocaching.
Still chipping away at the 50km radius, today I picked up 10% of the remaining hides, which isn't too bad at all! Thanks for the hot, sweaty, dirty and exhausting day.

9th of the day,
Quick detour to this one before meeting up with a friend.
Glad I went the way I did, rather than all the way down around and up and back around hahah.

The GPSr took me to an obvious spot, but cache wasn't there, so I started looking in other spots and there it was.
Was only one trackable in this cache and no geocoins.
Took the trackable and dropped 2 others

Found trackables taking them on a trip north! Great spot but a bit dangerous with the geokids. Dropped off new trackable. Enjoy your travels!
Found Very Easy and glad to move on some Trackables will bring some back from Sydney next trip Thanks
Walked to the bottom of the rock face when I get there as that is where my gps was pointing me then came back to the top where cache was found. No trackables in it where I found it so dumped a few. Tftc tn.
Morning before work find. Area is much more impressive than I would have thought. We will be back to do the walk. Just a heads up for people there are no trackables etc in here. Thanks
Got a bit dangerous when GPS said I was I was a metre away but I believed I was at the wrong altitude. Then I retraced my steps back to the hollowed out tree which was apparently "very close" and the cache was in hand ^_^

dropping off a travel bug i lost and found again, releasing it to continue its journey
On my hike along Bomaderry Creek I did the little Detour to go past this Travel Bug Motel to drop off my travel bug "Fly me Home". It is supposed to travel north as far as Germany if possible. Its a link inbetween my family here in Australia and our current Home in Germany. I am grateful for every mile it travels.
Now to the cache. its a nice big container with a lot of space. The coordinates point to the obvious point and not to the cache location. This is rather confusing and it took me quite a while to find it as it was more than 10 m off. but finally I could bring the bug to its destination. Thanks for the Cache

Great spot here! Took me a minute or two to track down its little hidey spot. Lots of storm damage around here. Took the only TB. TFTC!
A quick find while on our way back to Sydney. Left Gamma Girl TB, took funny sea horse thingy.

Beautiful spot this time of year. Haven't been down to this spot for many years. Nice walk thank you.
Find Number 585 found at 14:48
While Gill went to a meeting with friends, Tony had the car to himself for a whole day and a GPS full of unfound local caches. My plan was to pick up the only one I'm missing on the Highway and then do the Braidwood Road caches into Nowra finally finishing up in Bomaderry
The GPS took me right to the edge of the cliff and i was relieved to check the terrain rating and to discover that I didn't have to descend. Under the obvious rock was nothing, so I expanded my search and soon had the cache in hand.
The cache was in good condition. We took nothing, left nothing and replaced the cache as found.
Thanks perry_clan for the cache.

Nice quick grab. Last one for the day. Looking forward to a nice sit down after and afternoon of bush walking. Thankyou perry clan. Dropped off TB OCWHR6
A first "treasure hunt" for my 3 yr old grandson today, and my goodness he loved it! An exciting bush walk, lots of places to explore, the excitement of discovery, and oh the joy of finding a bag of (broken) dinosaur bones in the treasure chest! I wasn't equipped with swaps today, but I'll pop something back in the cache soon. Mr 3yo understands the need for fair swapping, so I'll take him with me when we replace a swap.
TFTC and the fun, perry clan!

Found on a hot Saturday around noon ! I have never been to this part of Bomaderry before, just amazing how close the bush is to the highway here. I could hear the bat colony below and pondered why they are protected ? I had a TB to leave but changed my mind at the last minute as I knew I would not be able to log it until today and wouldn't want it to go missing. My co-ords were about 14 mtrs out. SL TFTC perry clan !
Picked up on the way through. Much too hot to go for a walk but at one stage thought I may have to. Found a red herring & then the cache. The camp fire must only be for tea drinkers. I didn't have any travellers & very seldom do now-a-days but will keep this cache in mind. Thanks perry clan.
The gizmo took me to the edge, leaving me hoping I didn't have to go down. After looking around I found the decoy and the goods nearby. Thanks perry clan.
Great location and good sized cache.
No bugs here today.

Also beginning the journey of my 'Guardian Angel' Travel Bug in memory of my daughter Toni.
May this guardian angel protect all those who move her from cache to cache.

This is probably the first time I was happy that the gps was out by 7m. Some idiots had a fire right on my gz and I thought it surely burned. They couldn't even be bothered to put it out in this heat.
Well I picked up a bug and dropped off another. Farewell friend and safe travels.

Great quick find! Thought it was more down towards the creek walk, but it was only about 100 m from the car. Great views from GZ.

Rated: for Overall Experience
With rain and thunder clouds looming overhead, and one half of the team sound asleep, I woke up Cam and headed to Bomaderry. Bumped into a young lady with a phone very close to the GZ, but it was in fact the owners doing last minute maintenance. Were lucky enough to be the FTF - Our very first which made us very happy!
