Found by iamapom at 11:08 on 13/1/2024. Thanks to Motndarg for the Traditional. This is Iamapoms find number 2783. Greetings from Melbourne Australia.
With an early morning start we concentrated on finding the caches in the cemetery and this was one of them. This is a historic cemetery that we enjoyed exploringWe found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
Following a nearby event and a group assault. Crack'n'LeeLee (LeeLee) and l decided to continue on with our own afternoon shenanigans. With the cemetery on our hit list, I had to stop to grab this catch.
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began.Today is day three of the mission and Ive completed the geo art and the tour so Im very happy. Todays mission is to get to 100 in this local LGA and then head towards Sunbury in the hope to pick up another 25 to also reach 100 in that LGA before my flight out tonight. Obviously this is for a local challenge cache at home. What else. Unfortunately I missed the events in Castlemaine. Time got the better of me.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before cache was found and my name was printed for prosperity. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Beautiful cemetery and lovely monument. Beware the plastic paint container in the black vase. This has paint in it, returned to position in case it is significant.
Got 5 days off from work so I decided to come to Ballarat and do the Geo Tour before its gone, also grabbing random caches and Adventures labs along my journey. So thanks to all who have placed caches. Sl cache replaced.
Found today after todays meetup in the cemetery cafe on a chilly day with the sun shining! TFTC
In the area for work today so decided to collect a few Geocaches.
Thank you for placing the cache here and giving me the opportunity to learn about this great man.
Cache is in good condition and ready for its next visitor

Thanks for leading me into this historic Aussie grave never woulda come here otherwise
The weather is fine, so it is time to get outside. I grabbed my Blue geo cycle, the small red geo bag and headed North North East. So I headed off into a slight breeze, went around Lake Wendouree, past the Showgrounds, before arriving at Ballarat’s New Cemetery, it was time to turn some green and orange into smiley faces. The cemetery is set out in many sections. As always with a cemetery or War Memorial visit it was a sobering and contemplative visit.
Great to find out more about Mullawallah and his significance to Ballarat. Cache was intact and the log nice and dry.
Thanks for the cache Motndarg

scramping & I made our way to Ballarat for the long weekend on a mission to complete the GeoTour, which we accomplished. Today was home time, but we needed to finish off a few caches we had started, before leaving Ballarat.
Our first stop was to complete an Adventure Lab Cache here in the cemetery. We had to grab a few others along the way. It is a very well kept cemetery with loads of history.

Found with hevwalker during the finishing of the Adventure Lab here in the cemetery. Thankyou for sharing this gentlemans interesting story. I love how this cemetery and others in Victoria are informative and share the history of the people of their areas. TFTC.
Found with JJ52 and Michells&hound on our Ballarat Geo Tour trip. We left Adelaide early Friday morning and travelled home Sunday. We found all the Ballarat Geo Tour caches over the weekend aswell as a few others along the way. We even attended a event in Sebastopol on Sunday before we headed home.We did a few Adventure Labs to when we were close. This cache is what I love about geocaching. It brings me to places like this cache does, where I learn some stuff. Frank sounds like he was a great man in a time when what I did over a weekend may have taken him months to achieve. Thanks Frank and TFTC Motndarg. Fav added
Last day in Ballarat for the Geotour, we had quite a lot to get done before the event in Sebastopol. We needed to compete the tour, find a couple of old caches and also targeted some multis and a virtual. Jam packed morning but all we wanted to do was competed before the long drive home.
Quick find in the cemetery a lot of history here TFTC

On a road trip with Michells&hound and allister w over to Ballarat to complete the GeoTour as well as other highly favourited caches and odd ones we were going past. We had a great weekend with four seasons of weather over the three days and even managed to attend an event in Sebastopol before heading home. Saw lots of the countryside and very interesting places in and around Ballarat. [^]
We had a few target caches in the cemetery on our last morning before heading home. A quick find at GZ.
Thanks for the cache Motndarg.

Up very early today, n0w0rries and I were on the hunt for guides we could paddle to, which is what brought us to Ballarat.
Well, we got two out of the half dozen we'd hoped, but that's OK... because we could explore the dead centre of town once we came off the water.
Or two dead centres.
We started a Lab Adventure in one before completing it in the newer.
And then stopped to pay our respects to a few people... and, of course, log a cache or three.
This was the third, last and most poignant of those.
Thanks for highlighting this resting place, Motndarg.
I'll be back to explore some more.

What to do after a paddle on the lake with nirgalagrin?
Visit a couple of cemeteries, of course.
Since we were here continuing on with the AdLab, it made sense to grab a few physical caches too.
A poignant reminder of our days gone by.
Thank you for highlighting this fine memorial Motndarg.

We are in Ballarat for a few days CRR (Caching, Rest, Recreation) and predominantly to do the Geotour, today I'd like to say we were out early ready and raring to get those caches...but...yeah nah...holiday mode....we ambled out of the van and made our way leisurely down the street en route to Ballarat. A quick find here and some interesting history. Wow, what a beautiful and immense Cemetery! TFTC
Found with mogni, we are supposed to be targeting the nearby geo tour caches but seem to get side tracked on the way. this was one of the many caches that side tracked us. quick find
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Another quick find as we strolled around the cemetary checking the old and the new sites.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Very funny I thought it was in the white jar that was sitting on the grave site so I let the kids find it and it’s not it.
The last of his tribe, a sad ending to a terrible chapter of Australian history. Caching among the graves is making me maudlin, its time to move on i think.
Thanks so much for bringing me here, and ensuring that people take the time to remember Frank. TFTC. ️
Our final full day in Ballan, and we needed to go to Ballarat to buy some birthday presents, so with that task done we decided to tackle a number of multis that we had not had the time to try in our previous visit, and collect any others we passed in doing so. It can be pretty tricky juggling multiple tasks so we probably missed a few!
The weather was pretty cold and the showers intermittent so it was a staccato approach as we took shelter and stopped and started but in the end a satisfying day.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Motndarg.

An easy find today .. so pleasing to see this important Australian has been remembered with both this cache and an adventure lab cache. Thanks Motndarg for keeping our history alive.
A quick find with frmen1 as the rain was starting to get heavier than a drizzle. Thank you for recognising Frank. TFTC
Out for a walk to one of our favourite walking spots. Decided it was time to finally grab the last couple in the area. Thank you for recognising this place.
Lyn quickly found the container as I was completing the nearby Adventure Lab stop. Interesting history regarding Frank Wilson and the Ballarat aborigines. Thanks to Motndarg for the cache.

Down in Ballarat to do the Fiona Elsey 100km Bicycle Ride on Sunday.
This afternoon we found a few caches so that we could finish getting our points for 'Reach the Peak' Challenge.
After completing the Adventure Lab in the area we then walked around again to find the three traditionals. This was the second one of the three.
Another quick easy find with no muggles around the area.

Heading up to Buninyong for the Ballarat GeoTour event this afternoon but I left home nice and early to be able to hopefully find a few caches early then meet up with Lee Lee from Crack’n’LeeLee around lunch time then cache our way to the event.
Made my way out of the pine plantation near Creswick and as I still had a bit of time to kill so time to locate a few more.
Came past the cemetery and noticed a few caches in there so why not a stroll around a cemetery but only problem was that this one was over a large area compared to a small country one.
Parked the Geocruiser and headed off.
Completed the Adventure Lab first and now for this trad.
That’s the problem with having the adventure lab open as I realised I had been here earlier, a great memorial to one of the last elders.
Thanks Motndarg TFTC.

After brunch at 'The Gatehouse' went for a walk through the the gardens and old section before detouring to learn about Frank and collect this cache. I do like the ones that teach you some history of an area.
Beautiful day to visit Ballarat with Bogonghazy. Easy find. Thank for placing the geocache
Out filling in Shumba7’s calendar and completing an adventure lab when we stopped by the see Frank. TFTC
Found ourselves at the new cemetery so took a quick drive around to pick up the trads. Interesting to learn of some of the local history. TFTC!

Sorry for the late log and a generic log. A combination of some heath issues making me not able to look at the computer for any length of time and a mishap with my phone that has caused me to lose my list of saved caches.
