Great location. Great idea for water proof paper. Left a South African 10cent coin in it
Gevonden samen met Bald Eagle op onze trip door Nieuw Zeeland op 16 mrt. 2024 16:27. Dank je wel TheWanglers voor deze cache. Groetjes van mij 1658 uit Eindhoven

We decided to head out and explore the scenic route for caches. It was very windy and cold with misty cloud today. The log was full and we had run out of replacements so signed on the edge of the log. Thanks for this cache TheWanglers.
Lovely partner was humouring my frequent stops in the freezing cold, zero visibility to sign the logs with my eyebrow pencil…

Out for the day caching along the way. This was a quick find in an interesting place with no muggles about today. TFTH
Down from Northland for a one week trip to Christchurch to pick up some solved puzzles, challenges, unusual cache types, Jasmer grid fillers, as well as a few others in passing.
Today we were off on a trip to Akaroa and after stopping off to do an AL on the way, passed by for fish and chips. Heading back now and decided to take the scenic route. Next one along here for us was this one and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

Came up from Little Akaloa where we had grabbed a cache or two and were heading back to Akaroa- log signed - thanks for the cache
Staying up near Summit Road and saw all the geocaches when we arrived. As the kids were in bed, I got permission to head out for a couple of hours before it got dark and find a few along the ridge.
Back in the cloud here and could only just make out what was on the other side of the fence across the road. A quick check of the likely spot didn't yield anything so had a quick hunt about trying to find another hint item, but returned quickly to the initial spot and had a better look. This time finding the cache, thanks for the hide.

Found (after some blood was drawn on the barbed wire on the wrong side of hint item). A chilly wind was blowing at the time, but the views were marvelous. TFTC!
Out exploring Banks Peninsula with TharntheHalken (plus muggle). Nice quick find, but so very windy! TFTC!
Found this on a great trip in this area on a windy day.

We were also on the way to Okains Bay when we pulled over to grab this cache. Far out it was windy up on the Summit Road!! TFTC.
Had never been to Akaroa, so when the chance presented itself, Mr and Mrs EU went for a drive. A great day, some nice caches, and some great views. TFTC
During our roundtrip through New Zealands south island, we found this cache and enjoyed this beautiful view

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "On The Way... (Canterbury)".
TheWanglers, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

Today Jul1ane and me went to Akaroa, where we did a very nice 3 hours hike and also took the chance to find some caches.
This one we searched and found on the way to Akaroa.

While mørketid (the polar night) is upon us back home, I decided to be brave and fly south to find summer.
After a couple of days nicely spent on the Banks Peninsula, it's time for me to head north. Unfortunately my stay in New Zealand is reaching its end and I have to be in Picton tomorrow to catch up a ferry to start the very long journey back home!
But first, on the way, I still have time for few more caches
Another nice view point, and of course, after checking, another little box hidden by This one is actually a very quick find, the hint and the coordinates leave no doubt possible Which is pretty fortunate considering a muggle car came by shortly after I put it back in place!
Few photos later, and I'm back on my way

Today we made a trip over the Peninsula, beginning in Littleton, then Governors Bay, Diamond Harbour, Port Levy, Pigeon Bay, Okains Bay, Robinson Bay, Arakoa, and then back to Christchurch in order to see that many sightseeing points along the road. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches, too. The weather was beautiful, sunny, very warm, a little bit cloudy, and only sometimes there was some wind.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had to drive their cars on the not too easy roads on the Peninsula.
Thanks to TheWanglers for showing us this location and for the fun we had at On The Way... (Canterbury). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Mrs Rincewind is away in Napier for a few days and I had to get Rincewind Jr back to Wainui by 9am. With the rest of the day free what was I to do? Go caching of course! This was one of 37 finds for the day (& a couple of DNFs )
A quick find here. The container is not watertight, there was a puddle inside. I tipped out the water, dried the swag a little, and put the log in a new plastic bag (the old one was split).

Wind was so strong here today. We found the cache easily enough but it was wet so may need replacing soon. Thanks for the hide.
Nice easy find with JudeE on a gale force day! Cache was wet, Jude dried it as best possible, log was signed. Might need some TLC. TFTH
A quick easy find. We replaced the mushed log with a small waterproof log sheet. TFTC
Nice little spot, but the wind up here in horribly strong today. I made it to the cache hide in gusty conditions, quickly but cautiously extracted the cache from its barbed surrounds. Bundled back into the car to signed the log... but the logsheet was too wet to sign. Put in a new sheet of paper. TFTC!
Quick grab on the way to Okains Bay with the family. Briefly searched the wrong hint object but quickly got the find after that. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
Visiting from Brisbane with Slow Puncture for the Oamaru Geofest, and we're seeing all the wonderful sights the South Island has to offer as we travel along. Day 6: An early start as we ventured out of Christchurch towards the mesmerisingly beautiful l hills lakes and coastline of the Banks Peninsula before heading back to the airport to catch our flight home. It's fair to say I've never taken so many photos in a single area in ny life than I took around here, the scenery is breathtaking!
Thanks for the hunt **TheWanglers**, this find makes #4431. Discover our TB

Wednesday. Slow Puncture has teamed up with Orange Crew to make a Moreton Bay assault on the Oamaru Geofest. Day Six saw us travel from Christchurch out to the East for some sightseeing (absolutely stunning scenery) and caching before returning to the Airport and heading home for Brisbane. Another beautiful place indeed!
This was the 11th of 18 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***TheWanglers***, for showing us this place.

We couldn't sign the log as it is wet so left a piece of paper with our names but not sure how long this will last. Found with debsnz
The log is very wet, left a piece of paper but this one needs some TLC. Found with AorakiSheep
We decided to head over to the Peninsula with daughter for a bit of caching for the day. It was really windy!! In some spots, it felt like we are going to be blown away. Luckily, we were only blown away by the fun we were having!! Great day, and a big thank you to all the CO for placing and maintaining the caches along our route!!!

I hadn't had a propper big geocaching day since probably before the baby was born - somehow Bethany doesn't seem to enjoy geocaching as much as I do! It's always slower with nowhere near as many finds!! So a plan was hatched to get my fix - mum and I would go out caching, and baby would have some daddy bonding time!! Haha! However even though this plan was hatched at the beginning of the year, it's taken us till April to execute as mum is always busy!
So finally today was the day. A bit of a late start, and we had to be home before dinner, but still managed to get 46 caches! A few DNF, but heaps of kms travelled! Nice to make some steps towards clearing a little more of my closest 80km to home PQ out!
Chilly day, and some intense cloud cover too. Quickly signed!

Stopped for a rest after riding up from Little River. Checked phone and this cache was within 3m. TFTC!
Today we travel from Akaroa to Christchurch for what will sadly be our last night on the South Island. We have had a fantastic time on the Islands but our stay has to end. Thank you to all posers of caches on our way and we hope to be able to return to get a few more sometime in the future.
Another quick find to add to the record for today. TFTC

Goodness me, this is the top of the world! Nice way to spend an evening out of Christchurch. The log needs some attention (has been wet so is falling apart a little). TFTC.

My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. Zara stays put at Little River, so with trusty steed Toby, the Seagnoid navigating via phone & scribe and I delegated to log blogger and driver, we are off to explore Akaroa. OK With Akaroa bagged & tagged its the summit road home.
We are also on our way so lets stop here. Very windy today so its a quick bag & tag. But oh those metal prickles are nasty little beasts. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 3: Akaroa to Akaroa.
ON the way... to a windy day! Man here is enough wind to keep us going for a week.
Warning the dragon got spiked by metal prickles here.

Today we visited Banks Peninsula to do some driving and hiking there. It’s a beautiful landscape and we enjoyed our last full holiday day in New Zealand for this time a lot. Weather was awesome, views were gorgeous – awesome.
At GZ we made a short stop and enjoyed the view. We found the cache right away at 11:15 am.
Thanks for the hide.

The family had driven over from CHCH to have lunch with the relatives on the Peninsula in nice fine, light winds - well that was the mornings conditions. The afternoons conditions - pea-soup misty cloud as we drove along the Summit Road to Akaroa.
Had to use the dash GPS to help give an indication of what the road was going to do ahead as we had less than 30m of visibility on a number of times. GPS also pointed the way to the cache which was a quick find only a step from the car. Many thanks for the cache, I'm sure the views are excellent, just not this afternoon.
