#4527 Another day on our weeks break down on the coast and another day of windy, cold, drizzly weather. Lets go for a caching walk! We started and finished at "Wetlands Gateway" and walked out to Cuttlers beach. Along the way we made 9 finds out of 10 cache hunts and completed 9.7kms.
Enjoying our walk made quicker by focussing on the next cache find. Quickly located this number and extracted the well used log. Managed to initial our name on the patper but it could do with a refresh. TFTC lozza311 and Cazza.

Well today I found myself in the Kilcunda-Wonthaggi area with a day to kill. In my travels today I had much time to contemplate where I should be out caching in this area or not, given that over half the cache have been disabled due to COVID19. I could come up with 10 good reason why to and why not, and it could be debated at length without conclusion but at the end of the day I figured that the game pieces are in place still, I have breached no rules or laws, I probably couldn’t be more isolated (didn’t see a sole), many other are caching, I have sanitised my hands so much the skin is cracking and the reviewers are publishing new cache. Certainly, I would consider the risks are higher simply going to the supermarket, and I could log these cache in a few months, but I choose to do it now. Apologies if I have upset the CO’s by breaching their intentions.
The day for me started in Kilcunda, picked up a couple of loose traditional cache and then parked near the cemetery. I preceded to hike my way along the beach collecting the Killer view series and Cache Favourite challenges. Certainly the views were killers! The beach was stunning, just one set of footsteps as far as you could see from where I had come and a beautiful clear beach ahead of me. The beach and waves were stunning, and the small patches of rock formation just a wealth of interest, however there was a bite in the air that on a few occasions gave my head the pain like when you eat ice cream too fast! I continued down all the way to Powlett River mouth and had to do a little bush bashing near the river as I made my way past the beach house, fairy garden, bird in hand, the ballgame and so many other great inventions. Eventually I rejoined the rail trail back to the car after 11km or sand, dunes and trails, and tucked into a cup of tea, some sausage rolls and fruit.
My second adventure was around the Wonthaggi Heathland Nature reserve, I spied another circuit and feared there maybe more sand dunes! My legs were still feeling if from earlier. A I headed from the carpark towards the Target range knowing I was going to have to back track straight after. Then headed back towards the beach and saw an OWL! And continued on towards the beach for more isolation, more amazing views, more sand dunes, ammo cans (who doesn’t love a good ammo can?), and a little cut back through to the car. Another 10km covered, time for another cuppa, muffin bar and some nuts a raisens.
The weather started to turn now so I thought I best start making my way back home and collected a few drive byes along the way. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the fresh air and kms certainly was great for my body and headspace and look forward to getting back to find some more. There will definitely be a few Fav points going out.
Thanks for the cache Lozza311 and Cazza

Log was very wet , could not unroll time sign , but thanks for getting me out there .
Hmmm unfortunately this one was found full of water and the log swimming
Emptied the container and managed to put pen to paper but it will take a long dry summer before the log is dry again
Replaced and hopefully shielded from the rain. Many thanx to lozza311 and Cazza

This one was in an awesome tree. The geokids has a blast climbing all over it. What a wonderful spot.
Thanks Lozza & Cazza found with Jimmytherat on a road trip from the big smoke. Looks like these trees might have been struck by lightning at some stage. Great walking track.
Every time i stir overnight, it was rain.
Lucky the tent was okay.
Which made all the grass & bushes wet.
The log sheet was water, so i have replace it.
All good now
Found the morning of the Wonthaggi pre new year's event.
On the road trip with D@geo
Thank you for the hide lozza311 and Cazza

Found with gwd.aussie while on a caching weekend down to Wonthaggi to attend gonefishen07 annual Pre New Year events. Rained overnight and in the morning (in contrast to yesterdays heat) so once it started to clear we headed out. An enjoyable walk to the cache which was not far off the track and an easy find. Log still waterlogged thankfully gwd.aussie had a replacement.
Thanks lozza311 and Cazza

Out and about with &others for what we thought was going to be a nice walk and catchup. It all went to plan except for the flies, they drove us to distraction. This was not far off the track and an easy find. Log book wet. Interesting theme.
Thanks for the laugh lozz311

I was out today with Biggles Bear for our monthly caching adventure. It was an ideal day for caching with sun and a cool breeze. Found nice and quickly. The log was damp, but IIRC, still ok to sign.
Thanks for the cache, lozza311 and Cazza.

Easy find, really cool lil' cache haha...thank-you. Hidden enough, but not too much. Cache was filled with green slime, and tiny log required extraction,so gave it a miss lol
Found 4:18:00 PM, during our October Caching day out with Muzza
TNLN, thanks lozza311 (F=450 H=18).

After struggling at the previous hide, I saw this on the ground as I walked into the tree line. Contents are indeed revolting, and a stick was deployed. Love the idea of this one! TFTC
29/10/2016 - 4.40pm - No. 708 - 4th for the day - with surefoot24 & wal-len. Left one car at one carpark & headed to the other end in the other car. Great method to save a double walk! It was a lovely afternoon for a stroll today ... and we didn't see any snakes! Even better! Replaced wet log with a new sheet. surefoot noticed her sunnies were missing after we'd had a bit of rest in the shade. We had to go back to Butt where's the target to find them. Nice day for it. They were probably a bit miffed we wrecked their holiday. The find was made by eagle eyes -len. We were wondering if we could claim the sunnies find as another smiley . Thanks for the cache.
Ooey gooey! I think we found the sodden little bit of paper. Did our best to sign it.
Fortunately Eudes made the effort to get to a signable spot on the log and I didn't get too gummed up as I signed it at 3:25pm.
thanks lozza311

Found this one at 15:25 but we're not sure we're glad we did! Ugggh. Anyway, I drew the short straw and we were soon signing the soggy mess of a logsheet. We weren't sure if the logsheet is missing some containment but we found what we found I guess. A heads up for a CO check perhaps.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks (I think ) lozza311 and Cazza.

Found it on the ground exposed. Replaced it where we thought it was meant to be according to the hint etc. Hope it makes it fun for the next person!
[Green]With some time off work for the holiday season I teamed up with Square Pegs to head east of Melbourne and back to the cache rich Wonthaggi area where I found this cache in good condition and with accurate co-ords. We found this without a log in it so we added one.
Thanks lozza311

As we continued along the trail we stopped off here. The container was empty so we added a new log back into it.
Thanks for the cache.

The Geo-Girls Gone Wild weekend has arrived at last. OBVIOUSLY this weekend was going to consist of 4 excited screaming women, an all-night party in which tv's would be thrown through windows, a visit to the tattoo parlour for matching tramp-stamps & excessive indulgence in X-rated entertainment. Well...............it didn't quite end up like that. We were 4 excited women. That part is true. But the "all night party" turned out to be a late night FTF in our pyjamas. The "trip to the tattoo parlour" was in fact just a trip to the fish & chip shop after finding 23 caches on a gruelling walk. And the "adult entertainment" was, in reality, just a G-rated movie that we watched in the safe surrounds of my caravan. Thanks to Vanessa&Aodh, Zeus Hera & kids and Jankel2015 for sharing the most perfectly sensible Geo-Girls Gone Wild weekend with me.
This was one of my favourite and most memorable caches of the weekend. I loved it. I was the sucker who got voted to retrieve the log. It took me back to my childhood. Brilliant idea. TFTC

We loved this one. Haven't seen this in a cache before but it was really fun. We made The Rusty's extract the log but then she made sure we all had a turn with the contents. Meanie!
At Wonthaggi for a Geo-Mums Gone Wild weekend. We were thinking of all the ways to finish off the sentence of this cache's title, and were not at all expecting what we found. This was a great cache, one of our favourites from the weekend. I've never seen anything like this: so much fun. We all had a go with varying degrees of gagging. A fav point from me.
#793 - Day three of my trip down the coast for some caching fun! Today I decided to attempt some hides from a variety of cachers and not Gonefishen07 exclusively.
After having a bit of a late start due to the morning rain coming through, I decided I would go on two walks today and this was apart of the first. Parking at the Rifle Range Wetlands carpark I made my start and was able to pick up 17 out of the 19 finds that I had set out to find before returning to the car.
Thank you to the CO's for the hides, I had a very fun walk with what was a wide variety of caches and hides as the rain slowly stopped.
After digging up the entire area to try and find the cache, I had an 'ohhhh' moment and the cache was found. Then the real digging began! Tftc, great idea.

TFTC. This one had us thinking all sorts of nasty things tha container could be hidden in. Thankfully we were totally off the mark. Great idea, but with 9 grandchildren we were not put off digging out the log.
Impressed with the hide. We were looking for something completely different, then found the actual hide which fits in well with the name of the cache. Then we found the real reason for the name! Mr SKI reckons it didn't taste too good though. The rest of us weren't trying it out.

Out Geo-walking with SkiPair and Mr KI spied something different - then wished he had not! Put him in a sticky situation, to be rescued by Mr SkiPair. He also replaced thoroughly and then Mr KI replaced where found. Pity the next finder! Thanks - it does deserve a favourite from us!
Found at 1:05 PM GAFF1. We were trying to guess what the load was going to be, but we didn't guess it was going to be that [B)] Glad that I didn't have to sign that log sheet this time
Thanks lozza311.
Thanks lozza311.
This was absolutely disgusting. I hate this stuff. However it was a very kid delightful cache. Thanks.
It was such a lovely afternoon for a walk and with 4 to pick up on this track it seemed the ideal place to catch up on some much needed sunrays. Got to this one and opened it up and got a bit of a surprise. I extricated the log and signed it and replaced it as was. Nice little cache with a little surprise included. TFTC
Bogonghazy was concentrating on one spot, when I spotted it in another. A cache with a difference always puts a smile on my face, as this did, adding a fave. My thanks to lozza311 and Cazza for the cache.
GPS had SUlly and I in the middle of the track, but she quickly came up with the goods. Thanks lozza311
Despite the wet I had decided to complete this little series as the goretex was doing its job. Happily this cache was a quick find and the contents were nothing given the conditions.
Out and about this afternoon on a caching trek, the only plan was to be where the rain wasn’t,
this worked for us today, really enjoyed the cache hides along the way any thanks to lozza311

what a hand full of ---- a great cache worth a favourite from me. Thanks C_T_M&L311FTC.
There is a nest of Jumping Jacks on the edge of the track near GZ. I had several false starts looking for cache before I woke up to myself and got it. Soon after moving on from here my bike and I hit the sand hard enough to displace the handlebars, leaving them wobbly .
****FTF**** with Gonefishen07. Gonefishen07 had to wait for me to get home before we could run off to do these caches we got a big surprise to find that no one else had been here. Gonefishen07 went in to find this one my foot was still hurting from the bull ant bite. TFTC
****FTF**** found with Zobo04. Seen these 7 caches get released at 3.30 and thought by the time I wait for Zobo04 to get home these caches will all be gone. Lucky for us all the other ftf hunters in town mus have been away. Looked like there had been some tree chipping going on around here. I was wondering if the cache would still be here. Made a quick find nearly dropped it when I opened it. Zobo04 was keeping an eye out bull ants. TFTC
