We are back in Caloundra on our annual family holiday and this afternoon GeoM and I headed out to find some caches. We parked at the southern end of the Pelican Forest Track and walked through to Tweddell Drive. I haven't figured out how to ride with the fishing pole yet so I was on foot while GeoM rode his bike along the path. The track through to this cache was quite muddy but the cache was nice and easy to find. Thanks mozzafamily for the great cache!

01-Aug-22
There’s a couple of reasons for visiting this area today… a friend with a new litter of puppies, and the quantity of tree fishing caches that might or might not help with a yet to be published challenge…

I will admit to circling a couple of time before I spotted the decent sized container… the contents are pretty much brown mush… I added a new double bagged log with silica…

Tftc…

Today, the plan was to kayak across from Golden Beach to the top of Bribie Island (newly formed North Bribie Island given the recent breakthrough?). I was a little concerned with the high winds warning, but the passage still offered sufficient protection to paddle across for the scheduled island event. Following a walk around the island peninsula and the completion of two Locations from the *Pumicestone Passage Meander* Adventure Lab, we paddled back across just as the sea started to get rough. I then spent the majority of my subsequent day heading around Pelican Waters and Golden Beach, walking a few trails whilst fighting the armies of mosquitoes. I then ended the day with a drive into Caloundra completing *Rocking Caloundra* Adventure Lab and a walk along the foreshore/boardwalk.

This was one of a few geocaches found during my Pelican Forest Track walk. After leaving the walking track, I really needed to fight my way in through the trees and vines in order to meet the titled desert creature, but luckily he wasn't too hard to find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Without container paint, this container seemed rather exposed, so I decided to hide back in an adjacent tree that gave additional cover to this creature. Thanks mozzafamily for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Willis007 and I had the opportunity to head up to the sunshine coast for the day and collect a few caches before the night time event and the GIFF presentation. We were looking at targeting the Landsborough area and then the pelican waters caches before heading to Coolum. We were pretty much on track all day with just a few targets that will have to wait until next time. Overall, we got in a few labs finished off and a fun few caches. It was a long but profitable day, and a lot of chats and fun along the way, thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.

Finally in the Pelican waters area and it was a target rich area for us. A walk along this pathway to grab four caches in here. After applying some more mozzie spray, we headed in and took a TOTT with us for two of the caches. All were nice finds and in good condition. Thank you for the hides, with the log signed and cache replaced as found we were onto the next ones in the area.

An awesome half day out today with Ponchomon11 - sadly cut short so we could return home for lockdown, but first up a few caches to tide me over a few days. Finishing the day ... half day .... with a little walk. This one is a bit mangy and mouldy at present - but still sort of functional enough for a smilie.

Thanks mozzafamily for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #9642}* Cool

Caching with Mr Pprime (P`) today before the event that we wanted to go to. Pprime had a list of 10 caches that he wanted to find and we found 27 in total. After finding the T Rex, we were looking up to try and find this one but that was mostly my bad for not looking at the description for this one. Found this one by almost accident as I was looking where I was stepping as I almost fell over but that is nothing new Razz

We were not able to get to the event as we wanted to be back home before lockdown.

11-Jul-21
A last minute change of family plans meant I had a free morning to go caching, so I put together a list of a few newer and otherwise interesting hides around Caloundra to find.
Easy find here today, it was sitting out in the open. The contents are wet and mouldy, and there's only a small scrap of paper to sign. Maybe the CO should give it some TLC.

Find #11186 @ 08:51
Thanks mozzafamily for giving us a reason to visit.

A beautiful walk along the trail led me to GZ this morning. Coords were pretty spot on for me and container located. It had water inside and the contents were a mess. Emptied out the water and put new log and cliplock bag in though not sure how long it will last. Thanks Mozzafamily for the cache and showing me this walk.

Out and about with Karicka and Team Domsky trying to complete K's 11th D/T grid.

We took the wrong path leading to this cache. A bit of backtracking and were OK.

Thanks for the cache and taking us here mozzafamily. Loving living and caching in the Sunny Coast.

Found found on a short walk into the bush. This one definitely needs some maintenance, as the log is just a piece of paper mache. Nice container camouflage. I’m sorry we had no replacement lock with us today.
Thanks

What a lovely amble beside the creek. Managed to harvest a lovely crop of pegs of cobblers, and found the cache ok. Sadly the log is soaking wet and we didn't try to take it out to sign. Took a pic instead. Mrs George enjoyed the walk to the south end of the track. TFTC, mozzafamily. Couldn't figure out how to get the image from my phone to the tablet, so had to wait to get home.

Our final day on the Coast before heading back to Sydney.

An enjoyable walk after mostly park and grabs this morning.

Not feeling too confident as we approached but decided to give it a go anyway.

Through the patch if farmer’s friends and into a very interesting area.

PDG sported the cache almost straight away..... it’s wet inside but the jars finder left a new log that was dry in its bag.
Happy to pick up some unloved days here

Didn't bother looking as was very overgrown with cobblerspegs.

After harvesting a bushel of the track side 'cobblers pegs',
I made it to GZ Big Grin
So the search for the cache could commence Razz
But twenty minutes later,
I had found no trace of this cache Sad
And I still hadn't removed all those pesky seeds from me socks !! [:o]

This one was easy, as i had fallen behind the group when i made my approach, sung out and hearing a reply, bushbashed my way in to discover log signing already under way!
Reading past logs, i got super lucky with this one i guess. Bwahaha.

We came across your cache, mozzafamily, while here for a couple of nights R n R.

NOT a nice quick find today! We seemed to be here forever, with three PAFs each of which described a terrain different to our dried out winter all the grasses are dead type terrain. We were just about to call time out when Hatzoff call out those two magical geocaching words!

Log signed and cache replaced at 3:03 PM on August 22, 2018. TFTC.

Thursday. Mrs RIO and Mrs SP looked for quite a while to find this one. The area sure does creep over itself quite quickly here. We collected so many cobblers pegs, I think we must have had a million seeds attached to us. The mozzies were fierce, but we managed to find the cache container and sign the log book – took an easier path out of GZ and collected way less cobblers pegs.

This was the 3rd of 4 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***mozzafamily***, for showing us this place. Smile

Thursday fun day and my partner in crime today is Mrs Slow Puncture Smile

OMG, this one took ages to find! First we had to navigate a field of cobbler's pegs (it took us at least 10 minutes to get rid of the seeds that were hitching a ride). Next Mrs SP was stung by something (luckily there was no allergic reaction). Then our phone compasses were jumping all over the place and there was a huge amount of places that the cache could be hiding. While Mrs SP poked and prodded, I went back and read some more logs that provided a little bit of help. I shared my thoughts with Mrs SP (she'd had the same ones) and after a bit more persistence, we found the cache container. Wow, we had to work for that one! TFTC mozzafamily Big Grin

After a DNF I wasn't going to let this cache go and somehow I spent an eternity tracking it down. I think that dinosaurs went extinct while I searched.

I seemed to keep looking in the same areas while I looped around like an old man that's just gotten off a roller coaster. I may have kicked the same log about 8 times. No matter how many times I kicked it, the cache did not appear but it felt therapeutic sticking the boot in.

Finally (and I don't use that word lightly), I spotted something that looked like rubbish hidden away. After pulling it out I was finally (tee-hee!) rewarded. After signing the log and replacing the cache I went back to kick that log a few more times, but in hindsight it won the argument. tftc

We realised we would have to do a bit of bush-bashing for this cache, so while the geokids and geodog stayed at the track, NyssaFlutterby and I headed in to make the find. We had to search a bit here, but eventually I found the cache -
And made NyssaFlutterby leap when I pulled it out from the hide and she saw what was on it! Bahahaha that's payback for not telling me you'd found that other cache earlier Miss Nyssa! TwistedWink
Thanks for the cache mozzafamily.

Today we ventured down to Caloundra, this was a tiki tour following the caches along the way.
Scenic views of mountains & seascape. Passed through some new subdivisions as well, some seemed quiet upmarket.

I arrived in a fairly likely GZ but found nothing obviously amiss. After a bit of wandering around, I managed to spot the cache in what seemed a somewhat unlikely spot, and I wasn't sure at first if it was the cache or some kind of flood debris.
But when I spotted the friendly critter on top, I knew I had managed a good find.
All is good inside so TFTC.

Ok, I can't get any credit for this path yet, geohubby has made all of these grabs so far, or was it really just him! Did he get some sort of X-ray vision power given to him from Captain Geoman???? He may of run out of assistance now cause it seems Captain Geoman has left town until Halloween next year maybe?

**Smilie #4122**

Another foray up north to secure a few more smilies.

Quickly arrived at GZ but the compass didn't want to settle here. ???
Maybe the tree cover?
Looked about for a few minutes & was thinking I might give this a miss as I didn't want to spend too long away from the Geo-beast where I had left the geo-partner nursing her broken foot.
The phone beeped indicating I had a message & as I turned to head back to the track & the open to answer it I spotted something that didn't quite belong.
A little damp but still signable.
Stood the cache upright when I replaced it.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
