Tricky. Well done.

Took a minute or two, but finally spotted it. All signed then we had a good look at the weir.TwistedIt was a very cold this morning when we woke. The water in the hose to our van had frozen, but fortunately we had near full tanks, so no drama. It took quite some time for the fog to clear and it didn't really warm up a lot, so we headed out first to focus on Labs so we could retreat to the warmth of the car often. The sun came out around lunch time so we headed off to do some sightseeing round Lake Burley Griffin caching as we went. Canberra is a beautiful city. We love the way the sprawl is spread with lots of green space so it seems you are still in the country. The lake with its parks was beautiful in the sun. We managed to find a variety of caches and had an enjoyable day.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Kittykatch.**SKI Pair****

It was pretty cold this evening so I wanted to make sure I grabbed a quick trad for the streak on the way back from work. After looking a little closer at what this one had to offer, I figured it'd probably be a decent idea to take advantage of the low likelihood that the structure here was going to be in use!Surprisingly, there were two cars already in the carpark - I never did determine what they were up to, although we did stay out of each other's way (and I'm not entirely certain if I was interrupting any plans!)The headtorch continued to prove itself as a strong contender for Purchase of the Year and I decided to go possum hunting in the little treed area en route to gz while I figured out what the deal was with those other vehicle people! Two sets of beady little reflective eyes were sighted before I meandered over to the shelter and made the find from a short distance away.A quick retrieval ensued and the log was signed!Pretty cute little spot here - would make for a good event site, methinks! Thanks to Kittykatch for the cache here! Smile

Day 5 of mogni and sir_spectre visit the ACT. Today was a mixed bag, old caches, letterbox, trad and wherigo and hunting letterboxes, more multies and stamping challenges as we passed and of course targetting favourite caches, oh and what everelse we happened upon. As per normal if a cache needed a bit of love, it got it. Lots of micro logsheets added today. Thanks to Kittykatch from mogni RazzRed FaceBig Grin

quick find. Stopped and did the nearby earth cache as well. Nice location.Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.

We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove from the Blue Mountains to Canberra where we wil be staying for three nights. We are here to participate in the Aussie Peace Walk. Today is the first day of this IML walk. We are lucky the weather is lovely. A clear blue sky and an exuberantly shining sun, but not too hot. Since the schedule it a bit thight for us there is not much time for geocaching but we cant restist having a look for this one. Fortunately we manage to find it quickly without any problem. Thank you very much for this cache.

12-Dec-23
Today l thought I would play the part of the tourist and walk around this huge River...it literally took me all day..of course I had to stop to find the occasional cache like this one. Engendering a way for me to grab this cache and then not lose it was a challenge.

25-Oct-23
I was muggled out last time I came here. There was a caching event on, but someone was camping at GZ, with their washing out, and so on, so the attempt was called off. Tonight the area was dead (apart from a lonely chained-up bike) and thus we could search in peace, unrestrained. We felt the cache before we saw it, but it was happy days from there. Thanks KittyKatch Smile--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Oh, so I was looking for a cache on a shelter and knew that I had kept this for a quick access cache. When I got here the sun was already setting and two motor cyclists were hanging around. Curiously, there is a bicycle locked up to the shelter. The last time I was here there was someone living in this shelter, so today was a big improvement. When I couldn't find the cache with the info I gleaned from the map, description and hint I "widened" my search and suddenly noticed something. Getting to it was another story. I eventually managed to knock it off it's perch onto the ground without killing myself. I then had to go back to the car, because that is where I had left my pen. Replacing the cache was just as exciting. I took a last look at the lake - now covered in satin darkness - and went home. TFTC

This spot is bit of a personal favourite of mine going back years, but I don't think I've been here since I started geocaching as I didn't know there was a cache here. The BBQs seem new too. Didn't take too long to find the cache on my morning stretch. Surely no muggle with ever see this one. Signed log and replaced as found. TFTC! Smile

Third day of our school holiday week in Canberra and there were no museums or tours booked. Every time I have travelled to Canberra in the past I have done the Lake Burleigh Griffin bicycle ride. Alas, the usual bike rental shop was no more. We tried the hotel pick up version, but found inventory presented on the website was in accurate so we were always a bike short. Finally arranged a half day hire and with all the caches scattered around the lake, it was well worth persisting.
I had to be selective with my finds, as the kids wouldn’t appreciate a pit stop every 200m. This was stop number 4 on the ride. The cache took a little time to find, we used the hint, which focused us and soon we had the container. We signed at Position 35 in the log book. Log book dry and replaced safe and sound. Thanks very much for placing this cache Kittykatch. Cheers

Quite a quick find and I actually managed to reach it! However the log took so long to take out but we got there in the end. TFTC KittyKatch!

With a day off and a Geocaching event on in Canberra, I decided on taking the trip over. I haven't done much geocaching lately due to personal commitments, TAFE and work. So, it was great fun being able to enjoy a drive and getting to do some caching. Big Grin Due to the wet weather, I was able to get a couple on the to-do-list, which I wasn't able to get because of muggles. After a great drive around the middle of Canberra collecting Big Grin's, I then headed off to the event which was great fun. It was full of: Pizza, Party Bags, Games, Many fellow cachers and of course... CAKE! Happy 1st Birthday 'Dark_Blu'. Big Grin Then it was time to head home and I found a cache at about the 1/3 of the way home mark to break up the trip. TB visit on caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTE and TFTC's Big Grin

After breakfast at Gold Creek Macca's, I headed to this cache first. This one has been on the to-do-list for quite some time and today being a wet day, there weren't any muggles around and a quick find was made. Now, onto the next one. Big Grin
