In town with CaptainVimes for a work event (hers, not mine) and to find a few caches. Beautiful spot. Thanks for bringing me here. Thanks for the cache alex
A beautiful spot on a chilly morning. Luck was on our side and it was in the first spot we looked. Tftc!
A nice sunny day so perfect weather to be out and about in the Adelaide Hills and of course picking up some geocaches along the way. I spent 10 mins looking in all the wrong places. I just seemed to concentrate my search on one object that turned out to be incorrect. I stood back to survey the entire area and noticed something I hadnt previously searched. And of course the cache was found in the last place I looked. An oldie and a great bridge I didnt know was here. A favourite point from me. Thank you Alex, for placing Mr Adams' Construction for the geocaching community.# # #15106 # #
Wow! What a stunning location! The bridge is gorgeous, as is the setting - large pines, some green grass and water running in the creek after a very dry summer/autumn.Had to search around a bit to find this one which was a few metres outAnd always good to get a 2002 cache by Alex tooFav point for bringing me here to this beautiful area!
Found it! Found on a day out in the hills for the Tour Down Under. The search took a little while but we found the hide eventually! Such a nice hidden spot. TFTC!
Found on a morning out with Muggle Mum.
Today's trip to Ashton/Basket Range was all about buying plums from the nearby Harvest Hill Roadside Stall, and finding this cache! Mum hadn't been here, so she came along for the ride, and took 398 photos of this very cool spot. Today it was sunny, and someone had slashed all the long grass and blackberries, so I had my hands on the cache in about 5 seconds. And stayed dry! Redemption feels very nice, glad to swap blue for yellow

This was a quick find in the end, although not where we originally looked. Logical though. We were really pleased to come down and find this one at the end of a short walk - what an interesting bridge! TFTC
What an amazing spot, and finally a bridge that my Mum doesn't know about, and hasn't photographed! Got soaked to the skin in the drizzle looking for this with Chookster. He has found this previously, and it's definitely not where it used to be. I'll be back on a sunny day to look again, and hopefully to claim the smiley.
Following the colourful little marks on the map, slowly joining the dots and cleaning that map...
So many times I have driven so close but today made the trip in to see the amazing construction.
So much history tucked away where noone ever sees it!
Always a treat to find a older hide from alex and we thank you for locating and maintaining the cache on our ever growing SA geo-map

Hunting around - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of the luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Danger! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Much appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

I came past this cache a few years ago but couldn’t work out how to access GZ, so today o returned with some more info. Once at GZ what a cool old bridge. Cache easily found and is all good
Today after work I had a few hours spare before picking up the other half from work so headed out to collect a few caches and snag an FTF in cleland.
Thanks for the cache

Beautiful place and a nice easy find with Tigtog08. Grabbed the pathtag from the cache as we love Harry Potter. Tftc
Yay!!!! Can finally mark this one off my list. Tried several times in 2011, and then moved interstate. I moved back to SA a few years ago, but couldn’t remember the name of this cache. It popped up on my FB memories this morning. Today I can finally put a smiley face onto this cache!!! Left a couple of Pathtags. TFTC
Took a bit of time to locate the cache! Great hiding spot, had to move some long grass but no prickles! TFTC
This evening, with nice weather and plenty of daylight ahead of me, I decided to head towards Cleland / Mount Lofty for some hiking around the area. I then headed east driving through Uraidla, Basket Range, and Ashton, stopping at various locations. Some quaint little towns and nice architecture admired, with a final hike in low light was a challenge with plenty of blackberries around.
This geocache was on my bucket/priority list given its age - an oldie 05/2002 hidden cache! I saw the fire track from one direction, and so parked at the gate. As a note to future visitors, the fire track to the north of this cache is much better than the south - probably a similar distance to walk, but a better parking area and ability to U-turn. It was a great old historic bridge that I managed to see and admire in the fading light. Once I had a few photographs, my attention turned to finding the cache, and it probably took me a further five minutes to look around the area before finding a nice hiding place. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Alex for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Thanks Alex for a great location. I drove by this one about a month ago as I could not see a path in. Today I was travelling a lot slower and found the firetrack, which I drove until the gate. A short walk to the bridge, resulted in an impressive location. What a super bridge. It took me a while to find the cache as I was distracted by some of the 'fallen tree' discussion. Found and signed in the end, log dry. FP4U
Found this with my wonderful long suffering muggle husband on Feb 2nd 2020 to get my Souvenir. My husband used to come here when he went Basket Range primary school. We still live close by. Bridge looks better than it did back in those days thanks to the East Torrens Historical Society. My first time here. It’s gorgeous. What a beautiful spot. Even trout still in the creek. A Favourite point from me. TFTC TNLNSL
What a great little hidden gem we have here, thanks for bringing me here to discover this place.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

What a great old bridge. Thanks for bringing us to this wonderful spot. Nice to find an old publish date cache. Thanks alex
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

Another Wednesday Wander for the Puzzled Puzzlers group. Today's plan was to go and try and rectify a few DNF's that we had been collecting lately, plus any others that we may be passing. Today's crew was myself, Doctor Owl, Blackadders and S.A. Sewer Rats zooming around in the Owl-mobile. Although I got two off the DNF list and had a further DNF at another I also added another two. Good grief. [B)]
But first I had to get to the Owlery to meet the others. This was on the way there...sort of...and the others had already been back and found it anyway. [:o)] This was my third attempt at this cache. Attempt one we were thwarted by the fallen timber. Attempt two was thwarted by the triffid invasion. But the cache had been relocated since then and so down the now familiar fire track I went not having to go over and under numerous fallen logs this time. This time the cache was a quick find A nemesis cache finally removed from my list two and a half years since I first attempted it. [^]
Each time a pleasure to visit this amazing stone bridge in a serene setting. FP for the location. [:X]
**Thanks alex for this cache. **

The Rat and Owl hatched a plan to go wandering on a Monday.
We invited an Adder along.
The Rat , Adder and Owl need to find this one.
Having DNFed this one, it was a quick find by the Snake.
Nice to tuen this one into a smiley. Tftc

The Rat, the Snake and the Owl were making their way home after achieving a challenge in Cleland NP - the long way. This cache has been driving the animals made for some time, so Owl was determined to find it today. This time there were no blackberries or down trees to negotiate and the Snake made a quick find. Phew! Thanks for keeping the cache alive!
Another visit on Easter Monday with the usual group of animals after a previous DNF. This time with success. Glad to get this one off the list.

Out with hevwalker & CPwanderer caching around the hills area.
It took three attempts to find the entry point to the dirt road,
somehow we managed to miss the signpost marking the bridge.
I wouldn't have attempted to come from the other side of the bridge,
due to the blackberry which has gone wild, given some time will take over the fire track.
A lovely piece of history & perfect place for a picnic.
Making our way back to the car, we were quite surprised to find a very blue, sporty car making it's way down the dirt track which wasn't exactly flat & level.
Thanks for bringing us here & the cache Alex

Well this was a saga!!! We had great difficulty finding the way in …… although once we spotted it we couldn't believe we had missed it. A beautiful structure and a quick find with clare007 and hevwalker!! A favourite!!
Out & about wandering through the hills with CPwanderer & clare007...a pleasant day for a bit of hilly caching
A fantastic old bridge...

Decided to have a little caching outing to start the day with Basket Range chosen as the destination. What an awesome little spot all tucked away out of site. Easy find at gz. TFTC
What an amazing bridge. Saw the entrance to this spot and drove to the end of the track. Enjoyed exploring while looking out for snakes. Took Dino Stencil, left Lego Piece. Cheers.

Placing this one on the watch list.
It's dark, and I was going to have a look,
but recent logs don't look promising
Hope to be able to return soon.

Tuesday is caching day. Today was a rectify a few DNFs day. [8)] So Doctor Owl, SA Sewer Rats and myself combined our DNF lists and I mapped out a get ones within 50 kms of the CBD route to see if we could get a few off our lists. As usual things didn't go to plan as I only wiped two previous DNF's, one became a second time DNF and I even added one that was previously only on Owls list. [B)] Still we also grabbed a few others in passing and had a laugh or two.
This was the DNF that is now a second DNF. Last here at the end of 2016 it was an obstacle course just to get down the fire track to the bridge. No so now and a pleasant stroll. [^]
Once there we went back to where we looked before and came up empty. So we checked the logs. Yep it had been found in March last year. Checked the description and saw that the CO had replaced the cache just before then. So we redid the math. That is not where we looked last time. [B)][B)]
So off to new GZ. No matter how we tired the closest we could get was 11 metres before hitting an impenetrable barrier of blackberries. I even circled around the back on the slippery slope with plenty of hidden vines but could get near where I needed to be.
So once again battered and bleeding another DNF. Guess we shouldn't have left it a year to come back. The blackberries had claimed the replacement cache me thinks. I will watch this one with interest.
And another NEMISES cache is born. [:(!][:o)][:(!]
**Thanks alex for the search anyway. **

Owl has been watching the cache since their last failure, but didn't notice it had been replaced and the projection changed. Back today with a Rat and a Starfish an extensive search of the old location failed to find anything (funny that!) A recheck of the projection had a new location, but it was in the middle of the mother of all blackberry patches and an extensive attempt (mainly by a Starfish) failed to find an entry point. A new plan has been hatched to kidnap the CO and force him to reveal GZ, but don't let him know that!
After lots of looking and miss firing gps buzzwalkom fallen log railway and geo moo go it
After meeting up with doctor Owl, Mogni,Brisal5 and Blackadders at our meeting point.
We ventured over here to search for this cache.
We search high and low.
Braved the scratchy vegetation, climb over fallen trees, no cache.
So it was decided to phone the CO, who gave us some instruction on where to find this one.
Back into the nasty vegetation we ventured still no cache.
We decided to move on and return another day.

Wow, the recent heavy rains and winds have wrecked havoc here. The fire track down the to Mr. Adams construction now has more than a dozen fallen logs to go over or under just to get to magnificent old bridge. Then after the correct projection we encountered another area of upheaval. Tight on GZ a large tree had tumbled. The root ball dislodging a ton or two of soil with it.
Gloved up due to a forest of blackberries and with clippers in hand we searched a very wide area but got nothing. We didn't expect it to be easy but you would think 5 sets of eyes with many years and thousand of find behind us could find a regular!
In a final last ditch effort I rang the CO and harrowed the search area. Even then with more precise searching we couldn't get the prize. I hope it is not buried under that very lark tree!
Will watch with interest and be back. This area deserves this cache. Thanks Alex. In fact I am awarding this DNF a rare FP just for bringing me here and the adventure. [:0)]

With a small group of others we had to admit defeat. with fallen trees and lots of new growth, biting vegetation and slippery slopes it was to no avail.
One of the things we really like about Geocaching are the places we discover when trying to find that elusive cache.
Once again, I've been led to a beautiful place, full of history that I've not been aware of. Thanks and TFTC.

Third time lucky here.
After two unsuccessful hunts here decided to seek the good oil before returning and it certainly worked. Cache was found safe and sound in it's not so obvious hiding spot remarkably close to where I'd been searching on my first visit.
Thanks for the oil and cache alex

Looked for quite a while but eventually decided that the blackberries (and ants) have won this time.
Hopefully I'll have more luck next time.

Well we searched for 45mins. We got scratched we got sore. We also got a dnf. We will be back Alex
An unfortunate did not find on this caches birthday! I was keen to find it as I was a Sutton and my dad grew up across the road. We looked in a few different areas based on photos and trying to use compass directions. We could have spent hours going around in circles. Hopefully we'll find it on another visit to the hills
Interesting spot, did read about it in Curiosities. Followed the bearing and stepped it out, but no luck this time. Lots of blackberries and thick grass
Beautiful Monday morning on long weekend. Searched for 15 mins but to no avail. Loved the bridge.

A wonderful piece of workmanship by Mr Adams. Thanks for bringing me to it.
And a long time between finds for this cache! After 10 mins fruitless searching I was just about to give up when I thought it couldn't be there could it?
But it could. Loved the cache container, and the contents esp the useful map

Woohoo! Persistence pays! My fourth visit and fourth lot of injuries! Serendipity plus. I knew I was in the right area after using the specific facility (not the obvious one) in my GPSr, after having been far and wide this time and previously. The new orientation also helped. After such endeavour, I'm adding this to my favourites. Thanks alex.
We need to take more time reading logs before looking for caches, Parked and walked down the hill full of blackberrys ( food type not electronic) and thick undergrowth only to find there is a fire track we could have used. Found the rock but using a compass gave us a magnetic not true bearing and find a cache we did not. Think we might phone a mate before returning. Great location.
Had a quick look for this in the fading light of day as I was in the area with an alternative motive. Made the projection and wandered away from the bridge. Evidence of a very wide search can be seen. The lack of light (and time) left me walking away empty-handed.
Gotcha!!! With reassurance it was indeed there and a more systematic search, third time was indeed the charm for this well hidden cache. T-devil, L- ball. TFTH
The cache is there. I have upped the the difficulty because it is very well hidden. I have also slightly amended the projection. You do not need to climb the hill.
Mr & Mrs M-SEZ went for a quick drive around the hills today and grabbed a few caches on the way. Not this one though! After a bit of a search at GZ, we had a bit more of a read. Then we resorted to a phone-a-friend and Ma7:7hew taght us how to make our GPSr do a waypoint projection. We attempted to find the real GZ, but couldn't get our GPSr below 10m. We searched this general area, but decided to move on. I'm sure we'll be back someday. This is a lovely spot and a beautiful structure!
Back again, nice long search, no luck. Owner may need to check on this one, it may have gone walkies since last find over 1year ago!
No luck today. Hunted everywhere around 42m 090° from the rock. Thinking since it's been awhile since the last find it may not be there or is grown over? Hope to get there again to have another look.
What a beautiful location.. Mrs scoobster was beside herself taking photos of the scenery..nice walk.. thanks for bringing us to such a beautiful location.

3rd visit today. Had a bit of a look in the wrong place. Made a call to the froghoppin help line and got some further hints. Finally found it - YAY!. Credit goes to help from o'cholio and froghoppin.
A truly beautiful location with a most interesting construction. SL. TFTC.

DNF because I couldnt remember the offset details. I am not worried though because it took me and two seven year olds to this amazing place.
We looked for trolls instead!!!
Thanks very much for this.

totally amaized in the constructions have driven past here so many times great to come down and look.
What a great spot and the constuction is in great shape and well worth the visit, resorted to phoning a friend after searching and found we were only 10m away, found quite easily after the tips, we just went to far up the hill, the creek was flowing quite nicely today after the recent rains TFTC Alex
With two failed searches in the past, we were determined not to come back without some sort of extra assistance. With a hint from Alex in hand, we came, we saw, and we found it, finally! . And in the first place looked, too. So ends a saga of torn flesh, ripped-out hair, ant bites and curses that would've been heard all the way from Unley Road. Great to get this one crossed off the list! Thanks for the cache and the help, Alex.
I think I've been here before. That might've been when Daddy was saying naughty words and Mummy was covering my ears. Today everybody was much happier (except me). TFTC Mr Alex.
Adding another DNF. A very interesting and beautiful location.
Projected 42m at 90 degrees and found noghting after having a very good look. Expanded the search and still came up with nothing. Either it is an amazing hide, or it has gone

Was with Robtas - had a really thorough look. Fantastic location, but no luck for us to day - think we looked in the right spot...
3 of us spent 30 minutes trying to find it with no luck.We looked in a 42 deg circle around gz in every likely place. Personally the beauty of this cache is the location, its really special,so why make difficult as well. Very disappointed to come up empty. I suspect it has gone given prevoius logs as well.
Aplogies to those who went up the hill due to my typo on the bearing. Try 090 rather than 290 degrees.
Got to the interesting spot at given coords and did the projections as per the instructions. We thought this can't possibly be right! Gave it the benefit of the doubt and made the climb through the blackberry bushes (your ears must've been burning Alex ), to what looked like hiding spots but gave up searching in the end. Unfortunately, no cache is worth the damage that Mr O's arms and legs copped from those thorns - sad because this is a top spot that we enjoyed visiting - so it's unlikely we'll be back. But thanks for showing us the spot.
Replaced the cache container and new log book. Moved the offset so you don't have to walk in the swampy ground now.
First we went down what looked like a road and drove through some nice fruit tree plantings (on the track, not causing any damage) until we were stopped by a stream. We went back another way and ended up at the construction. This is a lovely spot to visit and maybe is accessible via another way than from the road. In any case we found the cache at 12.45pm and retrieved a badge. A Deer was left to keep company with the other goodies in the cache. Thanks for the hunt and the opportunity to visit the construction Alex. BTW the log book is really full to bursting.
A tricky walk for geo hubby with his current balance problem.
Thank goodness he made it to construction as well worth the look.
A castle would have been nice to go with the lovely stone work.
Walked along the creek bed and enjoyed the view and peace.
Cache definately needs maintenance although managed to log our find in book.

It was nice to visit this old bridge, do our calculations and find this old cache.
A multi in the era when multis were rare.
Thanks Alex.

Some nice stone work here. Cache was easy to spot as it was fairly well exposed. Contents wet due to a cracked container lid. Dried out contents. Log book also full. Needs some maintenance. TFTC.
This cache is in need of repair, as it is very damp. We drained all the water out and removed some rusty itmes, but the container does not seem to be waterproof.
Our oldest cache find today and a real gem of a location as well [^].
Came in from the wrong end (found the right way in afterward).
After exploring, took some time to find the cache, which was very wet .
Poured the water out, but didn't have any way of drying it out [B)], so had to (painfully) leave it as it was.
TNLNSL. The log book is full (both sides of the pages).
Thanks for bringing us here Alex.

A great bridge that is standing the test of time, things aren't built this tough any more.
The cache was found easily this time around (I'd read the cache information more closely which helps heaps). The GPSr said I was 12m off. The cache is now only slightly moist inside. SNP did a good job of drying things out.
I agree with SNP that the cache type could be changed to a multi.

Great spot have driven past here many times and never noticed this.Soggy cache book.Needs some attention.
Accompanied by Everlasting. Wow! What a beautiful bridge. It is pity to hide it. We were about to give up after a long search but we found it after reading PDA carefully.
Thanks Alex for the cache.
Thanks Alex for the cache.
Accompanied with Lava12, Loves the old bridge - amazing to see like that. No swap. SL. Thanks Alex for organising the cache and hunt.
Well the bridge was nice. Had plenty of time to look at it from every angle while searching for the cache. I wonder who it was that decided to put the bridge here in the first place. Quite slippy underfoot.

This cache needs urgent maintenance---drying out of the container and changing the type to a multi.
A lovely spot that was marred by the frustration in finding the cache. After searching in ever-growing rings around GZ, I (luckily) was able to read the description of the cache on my phone to find that it is actually a multi-cache.
We did a projection to find that we had actually passed the cache when we approached from the east. We eventually found a sodden cache. Tipped out a cup of water, stuck a couple of stickers to the not-so-wettest page, and skedaddled.
Thanks for showing us the area.

Found on a very pleasant winter's day out in the hills. A fascinating bit of architecture well worth the stroll.
Luckily the blackberry bushes that had invaded the area near GZ had been sprayed and were dry and dead otherwise it may have been a bit tricky to reach the cache.
