Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. After doing the Glider Forest Trails a couple of days ago, decided to try and smilie out my map in the area by doing these ones in the adjoining forest. Ended up doing a 13.5 km walk over five hours and finding 29 out of 29. Very pleased that all the caches were in place and able to be found, even the ones that had some recent DNFs.Almost wasn't going to look for this one due to the number of DNF logs, but decided to have a go anyway. Before long, I spotted a container near an interesting object. Seems cache has been replaced back in May but no log done on the cache page .. ?? Happy that this was done and to not have any blue grumpys in this forest area. Thx to the COs for placing all these caches.
GC578XC Trail of Friends - OrionJ the Great HunterIts a Thursday and I finished work at lunchtime so that gave KerriMG and I a chance to go caching. KerriMG had spied this area for us to target today. It was dark when we finally made it back to the car and a total of 30,000 steps for the day for me. This one was missing so replaced and ready for future finders. TFTC The Hunting Rabbit
Out for a half day with nikid1 so we have to make the most of our limited time to find caches for the cosmic quest. We ended up walking over 15km & finishing in the dark with the night cache. We joined the previous DNFers in not being able to find this one so replaced with permission of the caretaker CO.TFTC The Hunting Rabbit
I couldnt see it anywhere and with fires through the area and a couple of other DNFs Im pretty sure this one is gone.
Woe is me DNF out and about on a lovely day With miss millie geo dog

Caching today on the area that needs me to have more smiles.
This area has been burnt out so there was no grass in my way to see any hiding holes. Sadly no cache to be found.

Several years ago I put all of the caches in the reserve in a list intending to one day come here. Today was the day I finally started making a dint on the collection. I completed a loop on the eastern side of the forest - 4 hours, 13,000 steps, 13 finds & 2 DNF’s.
A quick find here. TFTC

I was wanting to find at least 28 caches in a day for a challenge and decided this was a good area to achieve it. It was a perfect day for a long walk with hardly anyone else about.
About 8m out. Ants have made a nest around it so moved slightly to the side. Tftc

Was about four metres from where my gps thought is should be. But the activity log directed my path and indeed the ants and termite have made a solid bid for cache ownership. Yikes! The things one does for a smiley- sticking hands into termite and ant mounds!
Turns out my handy dandy spider web clearing stick also works well as a cache extracting tool for when the cache is covered with bugs. Also worked well for putting back said cache! Thanks for the hide
This took longer to find than it probably should have… a systematic approach meant I finally unearthed the cache… Geepers had me anywhere from 10 to 14 metres from GZ, but it’s a little overcast today…
Replaced the snap lock bags here and added some silica to help with the damp… tftc…

So I uncovered this cache and started a gruesome battle. The cache was mostly covered in termite dirt when I lifted the covering. As I watched the termites scurrying for cover, hordes of big, long-legged ants swarmed over the hide and every one of the termites was picked up and carried off. I didn't notice the ants while I was searching, but they sure turned up in a hurry when termite lunch was on offer. I watched until things settled down, then used a stick to dig out the cache. I signed the log and put it back where I'd found it and recovered it. Boy oh boy, the things geocaching shows you.
A phone call to Willis007 and a plan was hatched for an early morning start on a bike riding tour of this series. Picked up willis007 and we were off, we reached our destination and then noticed there was a first to find nearby. Nah, someone will be on it, let’s get it later, if it is still there.
We set off on our ride and it was all excitement plus, knocking over the first few caches in good time. Then the excitement happened, as I was flying down the hills to the next cache a washout appeared with a big boulder with a flat front. I thought to myself “Oh shit this is not going to end well”. Sure enough even with the brakes on full I still hit the rock and was thrown over the handle bars, then the bike came over me. Got up and brushed myself off, only to find a lot of bark off on my right leg and right arm and a very sore shoulder.
Willis007 then turned up and was prepared to call it a day. Nah it's just a flesh wound let’s keep going. 4 hours later we found ourselves at the browns plains ambos getting cleaned up, lol, caching completed for the day.
We found 30 plus caches and 2 DNF’s today, the dnf’s were very tricky and in the heat we were over it.
Thanks for placing this series here, we will be back on a cooler day, sorry for the generic post but i got a heap to log.

After speaking with CHAMAD during the week, he realised he was approaching a significant milestone and wanted to get there by years' end. Having been to this part of Brisbane earlier in the year, I recommended a caching morning here to make some great finds and to assist in building those numbers. Bikes organised, a nice early start, we pedalled around the cool morning in the forest to see CHAMAD's bike throw him off ... wow, that's quite a bit of bark off, but in true caching style, he wasn't to be deterred!! The show will go on.
Picking up from where I left off in January, this was my eleventh cache for the morning. Cache was quickly found, log signed, and all replaced as found.
Thanks The Hunting Rabbit for putting this lovely series together and for placing the cache here for us all to enjoy.

Four cyclists; ruzzelz, beardman75, bulldozer72 and me, enjoyed our morning riding from cache to cache through this nice quiet bushland today. Lots of spindly trees made this area quite scary for a spider hater. TFTC, The Hunting Rabbit. =^.^=
Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching - I had put the call out to gather a few cachers for the On Ya Bike @ Paradise day. With an 8:00 am start the plan was to clear this little piece of bushland of caches.
Our small group consisting of La Kedi, Bulldozer, Beardman and myself set out for a fun filled day on the bikes. Along the way we ran into tvsmiley x 3 walking around the bush land.
Thanks, I love a good bike cache

Wandering around the top right corner of this bush land this afternoon looking for caches yet to be found. This was the 3rd find.
Wandered about for a bit at this one. Was about to give up when I spotted something a few metres over that made sense with the hint. And there the cache was.

A hoard of ants have taken up residence! We upset them but put a few treasures in to appease the ant gods. Tftc.
Another day in isolation and another trip with the Geo-wife and Geo daughter to this quiet piece of bush land to enjoy the fresh air and physical exercise. Great for the mind and the body.
Many thanks to the CO's for making these caches available.

This one took a little while to find. Eventually we located it and because it has been sitting there for awhile, untouched it was quite covered up. Log signed and then back on the main trailer again.

My GPS said I was 6 m off but I think it was spackling out. Was in the vicinity of where it said. Wondered off the beaten track a lil and found this baby in a neat little spot. Found with paulkelly92
Early morning start for a bike ride in this forest.
I have been saving this cluster of caches since I moved to BNE last year, as I do need 259 finds in November for a personal goal.
This cache was a quick find for me.
Sorry for the copy-paste logs

On our travels from Brisbane down to Mount Buffalo we searched and found som Geocaches. Thanks to all owners for the Caches.
A b e r i c h b r a u c h e i n p a a r W ö r t e r f ü r d i e S t a t i s t i k. Sorry for that.

Tag.
Out and about today Geocaching found a nice park wondering around circles D14TFTC 3.40pm
Wow that was deep into the scrub. Have taken The TB to get it moving good loot in cache for the kido’s.
Out with Aussie Clarke and Aussie Pete geocaching for the day. Great bushlands to explore on a nice warm winters day. Thanks for all the caches. We replaced some full logs on the way.
On the heels of Doully and Aussie Pete. Thanks to the CO’s for the inspiring caches.
Have also had the pleasure of meeting OrionJ and seeking his assistance on a few occasions.

Out for the day working on finding some Hidden Creatures and this trail was a perfect place with lots of caches.
I enjoyed a lovely walk and all of the caches are in good condition.
Apologies to the COs for the generic logs, I'm a bit short on time.

Found @2:42:00 PM.
With the hidden creature souvenirs month beginning we began searching for possible locations to have a "big" day of caching.
With Lismore area cleaned out Walden clan and I decided to pack the bikes and head North. We left Lismore around 5am and returned around 8:30pm with around 70 finds.
Really enjoy caching this way. A few mishaps along the way.
1. A puncture
2. Lost mobile phone (luckily found again)
3. A run in with the police while trying to access an area that had a road closed sign.
4. A sore bum
37km of cycling.
Had a great day. Thanks to efforts of the hiders.
Sorry for all the copy and past logs.
Cheers

Looking for the sign of past termites, hmm, then when I retrieved the container I spotted the reference.TFTC.
To complete our 4th DT loop, a trip south was in order, so a morning of caching around the Browns Plains area was included. A bike ride through this bushland had the twin goals of clearing out the final remaining smilies and grabbing some exercise.
The nearby highway upgrade made some caches difficult to grab, while a couple had to be ignored due to muggle workmen too close by.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache **The Hunting Rabbit**.

I needed some find to reach a milestone so I hit the trails first thing this morning. I covered the eastern end walking 10km in 3hrs this morning. Then I had to disappear for a few hours for a family commitment. When I came back I got stuck into the Glider series and managed to get most of those while walking almost 7km in 2.5hrs. I wasn't able to grab every cache but I will be back again soon. Thanks to the COs for placing these caches with good coordinates and containers in mostly good condition. It was a fun day out.
Termites were all over this one which was ironic given the hint. There was a bit of a delay getting to this one as I was about 40m from it when I realised that I didn't have my pole. I had to go back to each of the last five caches before I found it.

I found this cache on a long day in the bush. In order to visit all caches in the area I solved the Travelling Salesman problem. However, it turned out that the most efficient way had some problems in reality, so that the actual walking distance was longer.
Thanks!
Thanks!

The geokids and I had an afternoon OCW Team Mitchimus Prime (Mitchie, Karly & KC), and muggle (hopefully turned cacher) J.J.. it was a lovely walk around this bush land. Thanks for the caches
On the geocaching trail, our 3rd find for the day. Both our compasses were going crazy and taking us in the wrong direction, narrowed it down via distance and somehow managed to stumble on cache. Compass still saying 6m the other way. Glad my cache sense was working. Made swap, signed log. TFTC.
Next up I continued walking on the fire trail and took a small diversion to find this cache seemingly in place but quite exposed, not that there is anyone around!! I signed the log, replaced back into position and put some handy natural camo over to cover the cache up and protect from the elements.

I was in the area today chasing some caches for 'An Elementary Challenge' and this one was nearby. I think I was just lucky to spot this one straight away, I'm glad I didn't have to search very hard because it's time to head home for school pick up. TFTC The Hunting Rabbit
In the area this afternoon as we had to drop some relatives to the nearby cinema so thought why not fill in the couple of hours finding some caches. Parked at the suggested spot & set off. Was not too hot so it made for a pleasant walk. Located the cache, signed the log & replaced. TFTC
Another quick find whilst out in this amazing little forest. I swapped out and Ice King Adventure Time toy for a cool hand painted georock.
This geocache was part of my unplanned mega BNE geocaching day.
When I awoke this morning, for some unknown reason, more than any other day, I had a massive hunger for smashing down some caches!
It was very early when I rolled over in bed and thought, “yep, I feel like a solo day out hunting…”. Knowing that the Muggle Partner had something on today, I knew that I could get in a full day of hunting if I got an early start.
The next decision was to decide where to go… Most geocaches around me would require a fair bit of driving just to grab one or two. So having the time, I thought I might as well head down to BNE, a place that I have not cached to often!
I don’t know why, but for some reason I remembered that the Glider Forest had quite a few geocaches in it and around it, so I decided that that was going to be my hunting ground for the day.
Thanks for this geocache team The Hunting Rabbit.

Puh, I also did today the trail of friends. Sometimes it was really hard to motivate myself to walk through the bush but I was positive because in this forest are less spiders in comparison to other forests. All caches are in a good condition and easy to find because of the size.
The coordinates are also not accurate at this place but the size of the container makes it easy to find this cache.
