14-Nov-23
Bush walk is closed from entry I tried on Belfast Road.

29-Sep-21
A whole lot of stumps to check, but I didn’t spot it. Area is a mess due to the rainwater flooding the area.

These paths have largely been closed off, I came in one open, but all the rest are shut. Big trees down on the path.

Will try again if someone finds it.

11-Jun-21
Spent some time, no stumps revealing the cache

04-Apr-21

Wonderful hiding spot along a lovely walk. TFTC!

02-Jan-20
Decided to head out for a new years cache. This one has been on my list for a while sure to proximity to home. Finally made my way there, bypassing the muggle gate. With the GPS bouncing around I took the advice and say on the bench and had another shot, and soon had in hand. Great camo! TFTC

24-Dec-19
Sweet. Bloody classic hide. Almost gave up but gave it one more go and bam. Happy days. Great work on this one.

FYI, track still closed. Nice desire paths emerging now however given how long it's been.

20-Jul-19
Track was closed but no problem for EyespyBen

20-Jul-19
Arrived to find a closed track but in true caching style
found the little fella, soon signed and exited down hill.
Thanks to the co for the placement.

14-Apr-19
Is the track closed? I had come north to collect caches necessary to complete the Carnival Souvenir. This was on my list because of the favourite points. Arrived at trailhead to find the entrance fenced off. Being a geocacher meant I had to find a way around it. The path to GZ is all good. Once there I looked at some of the options with no luck. So I widened my search and easily spotted it. Please to make the find. Then it was back up and around the fence. Thank you for the placement.

01-Dec-18
Also managed to squeeze past the fenced off area and headed off along down the track. A very cool cache hide but unfortunately starting to show the rigors of time. A fun cache hide, cheers

17-Nov-18
Up in Auckland to pick up a nw vehicle from Penrose decided to get few caches while up here.
Tftc

18-Oct-18
Although the track is officially closed and I do not endorse or encourage others to engage in civil disobedience, I slipped past the fence and went to find the cache. No sign of dangers or slips on the top section of track above the cache. Took s few moments to spot it.

03-Oct-18
Area blocked up so was not accessible

26-Aug-18
Nice

22-Apr-18
TFTC! One of these hiding places so far!

22-Apr-18
Omg. One of the best creative caches I’ve seen. Brilliant find.

22-Feb-18
Your little friend has found her second for the day! unfortunately not hidden well enough from a large slug who I've named Stumpy in honour of this awesome cache! TFTC

20-Jan-18
Very very cool! TFTC

15-Jan-18
Definitely had us stumped - but soon found it. Awesome cache and good hide.

08-Jan-18
I found the bench and checked various stumps around but couldn't find it. The navigation on the phone did also not work properly. In order to catch a flight on time, I had to leave without finding it. But thanks for showing me this nice walk.

06-Jan-18
Plesant walk in Belfast reserve. Great hide. Got stumped for a while here. TFTC and to show me this little reserve.

30-Dec-17
Hurrah we found our 500th cache before the end of 2017 thanks for the hide and all the work that you put into it.had us stumped to start with but we soon thought whats that and had our hands on the cache.

13-Nov-17
A nice bush walk but it needs a tidy up around the northern end.
I found the cache very quickly by following the instructions. Wow - great effort here! Cache is muddy, but log inside is safe. It needs some goodies though as there is nothing else in the cache. TFTC Smile Fav point from me.

05-Nov-17
Found with Bennett24 while out on a walk for their 2000 cache. TFTC.

05-Nov-17
Nice walk with Tinytree but a little muddy at times around this area. Had plenty of places to look but finally managed to pick the right one. Cache was quite wet and muddy of the outside with several large slugs calling it home but all okay inside. TFTC.

29-Oct-17
DNF

16-Sep-17
Found today with Jard and supernannny, very wet and slippery under foot today but a beautiful spot none the less.

16-Sep-17
Came here today with urbangypsynz and supernanny to see if this would stump us. Lots of stumps, trunks and logs to search but the cache was soon in hand. Nice work there. Now all those stairs back out again. TFTC

28-Aug-17
Found it. However the cache was open and contained only the log. It was sealed when I placed it back.

31-Jul-17
Out and about doing a spot of caching with vistra, yorkshirekiwi83 and KirsTim (all logs signed as "Brrrrr!: due to the tempature and the frost this morning). A lot of stairs were tackled today, but what's one more set? Wink A nicely crafted cache here, very cool. Thanks for the hide!

30-Jul-17
Doing a spot of caching with Vamber, Vistra, KirsTim and I (signed as Brrrrr! due to the tempature and the frost this morning). Another well hidden and well worth the walk on sore tired feet, TFTC

30-Jul-17
I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83, vamber and kirstim early this frosty morning to tackle the Waikowhai Walkway caches from Onehunga to Blockhouse Bay. It was a fun day out, tackling the mud, slippery rocks and rising tide. We signed the logs "BRRRRR!" on account of the chilly temperatures we encountered! After our walk along the Coastline, we drove back to Onehunga picking up a few caches along the way. Parked up on Belfast St and wandered through the reserve to GZ, we had a short hunt around before I spotted something interesting - a very nice hide, favourite point added! TFTC!

30-Jul-17
Met with Vamber, yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra for the the caches from Onehunga through to blockhouse bay, and after picking up the cars, we called into a few caches on the way back to the start. More stairs, oh boy! Something interesting was spotted, clever hide, thanks

01-Jun-17
Cool cache, kids loved the little door. Great little bushwalk, lots of stairs and leads down to the beach. Beware though, people that go down must come back up! No swappables though... was there meant to be?

08-May-17
Log to follow

25-Mar-17
I managed to cut my hand on cutty grass while investigating one stump, meanwhile Aiden29 found little stumpy a short distance away.Nice one! There was no log so we replaced with some water proof paper

25-Mar-17
In the area finding solved puzzle caches and seeing how many favourites this cache had, we made the effort to come and find it. Arrived at GZ and both merlot58 and my gps were pointing in opposite directions, so we both headed off in search of the little stumpy. I managed to locate it first, having seen something similar only once. Disturbed a very large spider extracting the cache. No logbook inside, so we added some waterproof paper.

07-Mar-17
Needs a replacement log book, current one is waterlogged. Everything else all ok.

06-Mar-17
Found this one with just enough light left in the day to explore the rest of the track as well. Very impressed at the camo, well done bacgash! The log book is suffering from too much moisture so ink doesn't stick well at the moment. I didn't have a replacement on hand so i'll log a maintenance task too. TFTC!!

04-Mar-17
Great cash. The log book is wet inside though. Did not find the coin.

04-Mar-17
We were intending to do some of the nearby Waikōwhai Walkway caches but had not checked out the tide chart. Soon found it was high tide and needed a plan B. After checking out the new boardwalk we headed over to find Little Stumpy. Once at gz we all spread out and Scotty found something of interest which turned out to be the cleverly hidden cache. Container wet. Signed the replacement log. Cache could do with some TLC. Smile

03-Feb-17
I decided that I needed to grab a cache today. This one looked like it should be a good one. Fortunately I was definitely not disappointed. Loved the camo which gets a Fav from me. TFTC!

26-Jan-17
Awesome cache, once we got past its spider guardian. Logs are really damp may need replacing. Tftc emzyme and the doctor...

11-Jan-17
My second visit here but had more time today.Read the hint better and found it almost straight away. What a neat hide.Tftc

07-Jan-17
Wow, awesome. This has to be one of the best camo jobs we have ever come across, a lot of effort has gone into setting this up. Well deserving of a favourite point. We could have been here for ages had it not been for the clues in the name and description.
Thanks for bringing us to this special walkway, we'll be back for a longer walk when we have more time.

02-Dec-16
I was out and about today with NewlynFam picking up a few caches we needed for our current geolicence. It was a nice short walk to GZ but a lot of stairs! Once at GZ I looked at one spot but then instantly heard "found it" from NewlynFam. Cool camo, this one gets a FP from me! The actual cache was quite muddy and the contents pretty wet including the log book. So I've put that in a ziplock bag and also put in another piece of dry paper as a log in another ziplock bag. TFTC!

02-Dec-16
Out with dragon.griffin today collecting some requirements for our current GIO Licence stage, and as this one was near to where we needed to go we put it on the hit list.
Wandered in down plenty of stairs- something my dodgy foot complained a bit about today! But eventiually got to GZ, where somethig just jumped out at me..... must have been the title that gave it away!
Very cool cache, shame that the contents were soaking wet- the log was unwriteable, so we added a seperate piece of paper in a ziplock bag.
FP added for the cleverness of the construction. TFTC!

21-Nov-16
Needed a way to pass the time while someone was at cricket practice. Noticed this cache nearby. What a neat hide. We also ended up doing this walk which was lovely on a sunny afternoon. TFTC

21-Oct-16
Cool little hide. Love it! Log too wet to write in. No sign of the trackable. Tftc

09-Oct-16
Love the hide! The cache needs a little tlc the log was soaked and too were to write in.

14-Aug-16
Great cache, perfect for our 2000th find. Log book is totally soaked and we don't have a replacement on us. Still managed to sign on a page we could get open. TFTC Smile gets another fave!

03-Apr-16
Bothers me when my last try for the day is a DNF so decided to duck out, torch in hand to do this one. First day post daylight savings so by the time I arrived at GZ it was pitch black. Definitely challenging to navigate in the dark but spotted the cache, really very clever indeed. Made a trade, but could not sign the log as it is too damp to sign. Boxed all back up and put back. No TBs in the cache in the hide sorry. TFTC.

02-Mar-16
I decided that I had time for a quick cache today after work and this one was in a familiar place. Having hunted for a now-archived cache here before I was fairly familiar with the area (it wasn't quite so far along the trail though). On arriving at the bench I spotted the camo'd container right away, and it is a really well-thought out bit of camo! Kudos to the owner, and TFTC!

14-Feb-16
Awesome surprise on Valentines Day! Favourite, very clever find so far. TFTC

13-Feb-16
Decided to get out and about early this morning to grab some westie caches and to beat the heat! After caching in New Lynn in the morning we slowly headed back to our side of town via a few more caches. Mr NZT requested a diversion to this cache and after parking up and MrNZT decamping to make the find, MrsNZT realised this cache was something special with quite a good favourite rating, so she also decamped to hobble with her crook knee to GZ. As luck would have it, MrNZT hadn't made the find as yet so MrsNZT was able to make the very clever discovery!! A favourite from us also for a very nicely constructed hide! Dropped a TB for a new adventure! TFTC!

08-Feb-16
On my way back home stopped to give this one a go. Circled around GZ before finding this very well done hide. TFTC

04-Feb-16
Cache is still there seers!!

Found this on my way out of Auckland. Zipped down and quickly uncovered the cache. Description helped alot. Nice wee walk. Thanks

02-Feb-16
No luck on finding this in the twilight. Had a good look, will comeback in daytime for another go next time.

31-Dec-15
Great set up. Nice work put into this one. Everything in order including log

27-Dec-15
#10537. This one took a wee while to spot, but when I did locate it I had to smile; very nicely down. A bit of soil had accumulated, and I removed most of it. TFTC.

27-Dec-15
I had solved over 160 Auckland puzzles ready for our trip north, so today we decided to concentrate on looking for the nearby ones, and hopefully turn them into smiles, but with mixed success.
This was one of the few trads we looked for today, and pleased we made the short walk to GZ as the hide was well engineered. Wasn't an instant find as we were looking for something a tad bigger and the GPSr was all over the show in the heavy tree cover.
Swapped TBS - good to find a decent sized and dry cache container. TFTC and a fav point.

22-Dec-15
Very very clever, love the effort put in to this. FP from us. -trackable, +toy.

12-Dec-15
Wow so so cool!! Really clever we loved it and very impressed at the effort put in for this one... finally found a place to drop 2 TBs we had bought up from ROTORUA too... the stairs challenged my fitness level though haha

11-Dec-15
Awesome cache. Dropped 2 tbs with katgotya. Also, Sarahs wedding coin wasnt in the cache.

14-Nov-15
Checked out the usual suspects without luck. Fortunately had come across a very similar little stumpy a bout 2 weeks ago, and so curiosity had us looking closely at this. Nice camo.

06-Nov-15
Found it in its snug home. Crafty hide. TFTC.

01-Nov-15
Thanks brah. Last time I did mantainence I stumbled accross a similar situation. I may have to re locate the cache if this becomes a regular occurance.

#220
was out in Mt.Roskil for a b'day party and thought get this one, on the way return to home. cache was found all open, out from its little hiding place. then we found its hiding place filled with leaves and other stuffs. we have cleaned up everything, signed the log, dropped tb and placed it back in the best possible way. tftc.

09-Oct-15
One of the best camps a I've found in AKL so far. The logbook is a bit wet and the pen didn't work so I couldn't sign up the book Sad Great cache!! TFTC

27-Sep-15
This was the coolest cache I've ever seen!! Thanks

26-Sep-15
Wow, one of the coolest geocaches to date. Thanks stumping and TFTC.

21-Jul-15
What a shock to find the cache had been opened and contents thrown everywhere, those muggles. Had a good look for log but could only find container and couple items of swag. New logbook and waterproof container placed. Wait untill area is clear before leaving track to locate cache and please re-camo.

21-Jul-15
Happy first birthday stumpy, Hopefully many more to come. Left a TB From my holiday in rome.

13-Jul-15
Woo hoo. Oddly enough a fairly quick find in good daylight after work on trip to Auckland Great cameo! Worth a fav Got my exercise for the day walking back up the track! tftc.

09-Jul-15
Ahaa got ya!! Saw a couple of DNF's and was in the area so thought I'd give this one a go. Didn't take too long to find it with the hint. Fav point from me for the awesome camo!! Well done. TFTC

27-Jun-15
We were in the area to do some night caching but had arrived earlier than the others so with 15 minutes to spare decided to try and grab this one. The walk was a little further than I had thought and once at GZ the gps was bouncing around heaps. Looked at a couple of options with no luck before receiving a call to find out where we were as we were now 5 mins late...where had the time gone??

Oh well we will have to be back another day to try again. Thanks for the lovely walk and for showing us another cool reserve in Auckland - I love these sorts of spots!

27-Jun-15
Couldn't find whilst out with mum keylev and brother cragger.

Thanks for the cache.

Nice day for a walk. Wandered around a little (must get a compass) but awesome hide.

25-Apr-15
We couldn't find it but our 6yr old did. It helps seeing it from a kids point of view

17-Apr-15
Hoping for a quick dot day find. This is one of our closer unfound caches. Lots of steps ! but a lovely quiet location for a cache, which was good as I did have to do a little bit of rummaging. Fantastically well designed cache for the location - really enjoyed the find.

Smile Found while out for a bit of a walk with Mrs McMike2012 & young grandson ... parked nearby & walked down the steps, counting them as we went, to GZ ... found the seat easily enough & checked a number of stumps ... bingo! an easy find & quickly replaced ... well done that man with the cameo on this one ... deserves a favourite from me ... but ended up carrying the grandson back up the hill, more counting the steps as we went ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #878 for us.

07-Apr-15
Thanks for making us go for a bush walk. There were no goodies to swap sadly. It was so hot we went to the pools after.

03-Apr-15
Wandered down the path and made the seat. Righto, where would this be? Checked a few spots before coming up trumps. Nice camo!

25-Mar-15
Not a quick find after work today. Definitely an ingenious hide and soon to hand after following instructions and sitting for a while and reevaluating. Definitely a favorite point from me. Thanks for bringing me to yet another place I'd never been to before. Cheers V.
