We are in Horsham for a long weekend away. Having never cached in this area, it is going to help us with a number of challenges. The hardest being GCA0HZW, where you need 20 geocaches in each Victorian LGA. We should get that in Horsham, probably not in the West Wimmera, Hindmarsh, and Yarriambiack LGAs that we will all be also visiting. After the event in Horsham and then brunch, it was time to head west to the West Wimmera LGA, stopping at Mt Arapiles first. This story was just amazing and great to learn about. Shame that most people just drive past and would never know about it.This was a quick find once at the GZ. Took a 7-point turn to get the car facing the right way again. Thanks for the cache, Rooossss.Hunter

As our convey of three vehicles headed across from SA through VIC & NSW, we are focusing on collecting some LGAs before heading to the ACT Mega. To save space on all log sheets, we signed as 5 for QLD.All caches we found were in good condition, and with the odd wet logbook being replaced with write in the rain paper.Thank you to all cache owners for placing these hides for the benefit of the geocaching community

We attended a Mega in Adelaide for Leap Year, and are now slowly making our way to Canberra for the Easter Mega. We called in here to find this cache as it ticks off another LGA for this state. We are using the Acronym 6 for QLD to sign the log sheets. It was a pleasant drive through that countryside, and we were pleased to find all the caches on our list. What a fabulous story. Will look it up more when we get settled in Canberra later. Didn't see any railway remains. So, log signed and cache replace as found on 16th March, 2024. TFTC, Rooossss.

I was a little concerned when i first arrived at gz as there has been some firewood gathering right on site. Happily the cache is still safely in place and intact. Lost in the Bush 150 is find number 3,057 for me. A fun small traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of my caching trip to West Wimmera Shire. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Friday 10 Nov 2023 at 6:49 pm and the weather is Few Clouds 36C 12% 3 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Rooossss.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

Melbourne to Adelaide Road Trip
Day Two: Horsham to Keith via Frances
Weather: cool morning, warm afternoon, clear skies.

On my last pass along this way, I stopped near here for the multi, which I highly recommend. Today I’m finishing the job with this trad, an easy find along a quiet country road. It’s an interesting story, I think that the multi covers it better.

Thanks for this cache Rooossss.

Leaving Horsham early we made our way to Hamilton, via an arc which took us close to the SA border (which we are not allowed to cross at the moment) Together with Suscoe, we found a variety of caches in some interesting locations. We still have the Fourth Book at home, it was interesting to have a cache for 150th anniversary.

Our thanks to 'Rooossss' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Suscoe headed out today for a trip to Hamilton via a wide arc heading out to near the SA border with our good friends, Phetlern.
It was a hot and windy day, with a top of 36 degrees on the car dashboard.
We saw some stunning countryside in places that we have never been to before.
Mt Arapiles was a stand out spot with amazing rocks, stunning views and remarkable countryside.
We were amazed at the green grasslands out here and the trees that were a feature of the whole drive.

Thanks to Rooossss for this hide, a quick find here today.

Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

Leaving my stop over in Dimboola and doing a few around the area before heading west to find a few more.
So after finishing a couple in the desert I headed back to town to finish off a couple more before heading to my next destination.
I seem to be doing a lot of back tracking just to find the caches in a certain order.
A very sad and stressfull story but which had such a happy ending for all concerned.
Thank Rooossss TFTC.

After checking in to my motel in Nhill, I checked out other caches in the area. The Offroad Vehicle Challenge attracted me, and then afterwards I headed to this cache for a quick find. I thought I was going to have to walk cross country from the road to get to this one as my car satnav didn't show the track, and my GPS map showed it as a railway line. Clearly you can tell when driving along it that it used to be a railway.

Thanks to Rooossss for the cache.

Travelling across to Melbourne which we do quite often, we decided to take a bit of a detour to collect some different caches. A short distance from last night's campsite,
I headed for this cache Big Grin
And got lost !! [:o]

Hang on a second !!
Why is the cache a couple of hundred metres into a farmer's paddock ?? [:o]
More zooming in on the GPS revealed an olde railway alignment Razz
And with some backtracking,
I found the track that led to GZ Big Grin

As we pulled up on the side of the road we guessed that this cache was over the other side of a grain field which had been harvested some time ago. In addition, there was no fence on the road side of the field. So, given the hint, the taller member of the team headed off through the stubble. At the other side a fence had to be negotiated. It wasn't a straightforward task for the less mobile Mr y'stassie but he managed to find a way through and headed towards GZ. Once there the cache was located quickly due to accurate coordinates and the hint. The cache and contents were in good condition. The next task was to get through the fence again. then Mr y'stassie noticed a section of fence where the droppers had disappeared. This enabled the wires to be separated more easily and he was soon back at the car. Mission accomplished. Thanks Rooossss for the cache.

*6/5/17, Found @ 1:06 pm, Find # 6621.*

Off on a weekend road trip to Swan Hill, going the long way on my 1400km adventure to pick up a few new LGA's along the way as well as a few caches of interest.
This one was out west in a new LGA that I had not been to yet so I had to make the detour out here.
Once I arrived at GZ I was able to make a quick find and sign the log.

I don't agree that the previous finder should have logged this cache as they have not signed the log, so the find should not be claimed, there have been lots of caches that I have seen but not been able to get to, to sign the log so no find was claimed.

**Thanks to Rooossss for placing this cache.**

Arrived at Jane Duff reserve late this afternoon and decided to do a bit of exploring and geocaching on our bikes. Wildflowers magnificent, frogs croaking.

We "found" the cache but the bees which are guarding it looked a bit scary. Perhaps on a cooler day they might be less active and we could get to the cache.
We will attach a photo of the cache in position to confirm finding it. No peeping until you have found it.

06-Jul-15
We checked in to see if our nearby cache was still in its hiding place and behaving itself. It was, however the old signage has been removed so we will have to rejig the questions.

Anyway, while we were in the neighbourhood we decided to check this one out. It had jumped out to greet and was in open view! So we had to return it to the obvious location. Hope it remains there.

Thanks Rooossss for your cache which is a logical follow up to ours. T:nothing L: a wooden ladybug.

Have not had good service for the last couple of days so am catching up on my logging duties tonight.
Had intended to leave this one to the morning intending to camp nearby overnight, but it got the better of me and so I set out in the misty rain. Was within 250 m of GZ when I realised I was on the wrong path so turned around and tramped back to the entry of the correct track. I was feeling quite buoyant until all of a sudden Little Red Riding Hood (aka my GPSr) decided that she needed a new power surge. Twisted Not happy Alice! This was the 2nd set of batteries for the day and they were all failing after supposedly being fully recharged!!! Sad Luckily I had glimpsed approx distance from GZ so started pacing it out. I allowed a little extra (my legs are quite short) then took off into the bush and started hunting - I had also read the hint. When I had gone far enough on that side I crossed over and started heading back to camp checking out the other side. I was not really hopeful, but Bingo! there it was. Big Grin How cool was that! Cool Fantastic!

Find # 2165 @ 1403 H

Heading over to Mount Arapiles to grab a few caches and some sights on a good Saturday arvo drive.

I ended up on the wrong side of the paddock, after I had missed the turn off up to the cache. so after a double back I was making a V-Line for GZ.

A quick find with smack of co ords

the first I heard of these children was on the news for when the new information shelter was "opened"

it was interesting to hit the area an learn a little more on their survival story.

Travelling to Ballarat via a few back roads, when I just happened to check any cache sites that we may pass by. Well I noticed that this new cache had not been found, so I planted the foot , broke a few speed rules, got held up with a mob of sheep and a very slow wide load, but we managed the 60 kms in record time. We were so pleased to have a FTF. Over the road , men were dismantling a marque that had been used for the 150 th anniversary comenerating the children that got lost. Thank you so much Rooosss.
