Pretty creative spot, container is starting to break a bit.. clips on the sides are falling off but can still clip just be careful, also not sure if caches are supposed to be on the other side of a fence line but also be careful of the barbed wire Smile

That was easy. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of OzGeoMuster MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. Find # 10327

Up in Parkes for 2 weeks with work. Looking after the factory while the local manager has a well earned Holiday.

Having the weekend to myself I decided I had to go for a look around the area this seen me go from Parkes to Wellington taking a couple of back tracks.

going from the dish I was making my way to Wellington aiming for the caves and the 2 virtual caches there. along the way I stopped at a few of the "odd" locations for some grabs.

Jumping the fence I felt like I was a little exposed and possibly on private property. thankfully a quick find and off to the next one.

12-Feb-21
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled from Parkes to Merriwa. We travelled north-east via Baldry, Yeoval, to Wellington, where we visited the Wellington Caves, and stopped for lunch. We then continued the drive north-east through Spicers Creek, Two Mile Flat, Gulgong, Ulan, arriving in Merriwa in the evening in time for a pizza dinner. Afternoon highlights were walks to The Drip Gorge and Hands On The Rock (Ulan Aboriginal Rock Art), and several of NSW's LGAs were visited during our travels today.

What a cool old railway. We navigated the barbed wire fence, and jogged past the flock of sheep. Luckily/thankfully, it was a quick find of the cache here, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Team Webguy for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Hi there Team Webguy.

We found your cache **"The Abandoned Railway - Nothing to Switch"** today. (This makes our find count 19406).

Today we cached north-astwards, to Yeoval and Obley, before heading back to our camp at Parkes. The aim of the day was to cache along some roads we haven't traveled on since we became full time grey nomads, so we can draw another line on our wall map).Smile

We found 9 caches today (DNF'd 3) .We thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid but are disappointed at the number of poorly maintained caches along our route. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Thanks also for not placing a mint tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find this "special" cache here.

***Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Found it!!!!(FINALLY)
I have to admit I have been here about 3 times with no success!
As we were driving through I pleaded with muggle husband please just one more time!
I did stop and wonder if I should try again as there is now a fence running across the railway line.
Mmm should I ???? Of course I should I have been here 3 other times without fence and I'm not coming back after today!!!!! Lol
Has to be a favourite for me - I think??? Thanks for keeping me coming back Team Webguy!!!!

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.

35th for the day at 1325 (110 for the trip). Fitzy and I looked for this one, and I found it after being directed by Fitzy to look in this place! I dared SpecimenX to park the car on the railway line, but old habits die hard (and are probably good ones in the event). Thanks Team Webguy!

11298. Headed up to the Orange region with AngelG27, Sol de Lune and specimenX ("FASS") for a fun-filled weekend of caching. Lots of caches found, a few not found, and a lot of laughs had as we toured around over 2 full days as far north as Wellington which resulted in 124 finds for me.

Headed out early again today for a final big run of caches before heading home to Canberra. Next stop for the day on a loop up to Wellington and back. Another quick find at GZ. Log signed, cache returned and we were off to the next one.

Thanks again Team Webguy !! Seeing these artworks around the area was great !

Old railways always seem to have such interesting things to explore. This was no exception. The cache was found quickly as the co-ordinates are really good. The log was quickly signed and all was replaced. It was easy caching around Yeoval today as all the locals were probably at the show. Thanks for so many cachers in this town.

Found it Smile. TFTH. SL. Good to do one of your caches for a change. A beautiful area. I really enjoyed this cache, sitting here on an old abandoned railway line with silos nearby out in the middle of what seems no where. I feel quite content just sitting here. I see these kinds of places on tv but never actually have a reason to want to go and explore, I guess that is what's so good about caching, coming to placed like this. Thanks for bringing me here to enjoy this location.

Took a stroll over from the showground camp in between showers of rain, looked for cache in all the usual places, however once finding it I realised my mistake of looking for the obvious "magnetic" cache and was duped by that. We made it a bit harder than it should have been by looking for a micro, but it was great to get up close the all the good gear and have a play. TFTC

08-Aug-15
We've come out to Yeoval from Sydney for Dead Men Talking - a play/ conversation between Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson. Being as Banjo spent some of his early years here, it seemed an appropriate place to catch the event. Highly recommended! We discovered TWG's connections here just before we came. Spent the night at the friendly Royal Hotel and took a morning walk to the north side of town.

The story behind the cache name became obvious as we approached GZ. Nice way to learn about the history of Yeoval. Might want to watch this cache for muggle so. The log book had a number to call for a good time and a damp cigarette which we removed. Decided to forego the good time offer and continue caching! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.

On day one of our trip we headed from Canberra to Dubbo. The caching was in the second half of the day at small towns and around Dubbo itself. Mostly it went soothly. Plenty of ants around to make it all more exciting. Thanks.
