Since todays paddle got squashed, it was decided that myself and Duppers would meet up at Ewan Maddock dam around 11 am. I decided to head up a bit earlier and grab the other ones that she has already done around the other side of the dam. Im hoping to have enough time to cache and visit my father-in-law in the same trip.Quick find.I found your cache, TD 025 - Whats in the bush today. The Drovers, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Today, I strolled around another part of the dam, signing challenge caches. With time on my side, I headed to this part of the dam to find some more caches. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
2pm on a scorching Sunday afternoon. Theres no one around, because everyone else is sensible, and is staying out of this ridiculous heat and humidity. After the previous relatively easy cache, I walked to this one. Knowing the previous one, I had assumed that the cache wouldnt be easy. It wasnt. I spent about 15 min here, but there was no breeze and I was starting to feel pretty dodgy so I ended up bailing. The cache may well be there, (it probably is), and maybe Ill come back another time for this outlier in my western Ewen Maddock map, but Im calling it. This one has beaten me today. Thanks, The Drovers.
No luck here this arvo. Gave it a red hot crack and looked pretty much everywhere at 0m but nothing to be found
Tacking the Ewen dam hiking trail today to tick off some more cache locations. All caches were eventually found after some looking around and in usable condition, unless otherwise specified.. Thanks to the owners of the caches along this trail. It was much enjoyed!..
A rude awakening by a very early phone call meant it was time to continue our caching day. With an early start it means some early caches before we meet up with Willis007 for our bike ride assault on Ewan Maddock Dam. A quick brekky a pack up and we were on our way. We started from where we left off, collecting caches in the Caloundra area and working our way to Landsborough.
We set off riding around the dam collecting caches and signing logs. This place is awesome with some really quiet and beautiful areas. We found all caches around here today; some really interesting caches and a few ammo tins, (love an ammo tin cache). We even visited a couple of caches twice as we backtracked around completing the multis of the area. The puzzles were fun to do and between the three of us, we had the solutions to all. Thank you for the caches, we had a lot of laughs today and some good exercise on those hills. Thank you to my caching buddies for the day out, it was a fun day.

Heading to this area today to find some caches around Ewen Dam with chamad and Triple Turmoil. We headed around the dam on bikes, others were enjoyable walks.
The cache was quickly spotted, log signed and all replaced as found.
Thank you The Drovers for the cache and for bringing me here.

Chamad and I decided to meet up on this lovely "getting closer to spring" day. We need to get 555 Sunshine Coast caches for a Challenge cache we collected last weekend. Let's just say I am a looooooooong way off. So we spent Saturday afternoon and way into the night collecting caches and so early the next morning that I am wondering why we bothered to go to sleep
This cache was one of the early morning ones. Our second day saw us on our way at 6am to meet Willis007 at 730 (which ended up being at 830) to ride around Ewan Dam. This ride was pretty challenging at times. Certainly got the heartrate up. Either by riding up a steep hill, walking up an even steeper hill or even riding down a steep hill at full speed. Lots of fun and lots of exercise.

A clever creative hide. I’m out for my first ever run-hike through this bushland. Looking forward it. TFTc. Favourite point from me
This was a tough one. Looked around GZ for 20 mins. About to give up when I spied something which looked out of place. Great disguise
Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Cool camo cache was soon found Thanks for the cache
I love the effort and creativity that has gone into this hide. It adds to the enjoyment I’m having on our wander around the dam today. TFTC The Drovers
Out for a cache-inspired bike ride with Puff & Puffin yesterday this was the third on our list.

Originally setting out for a different cache, our plans were amended when geohubby had a old foot injury flare up about 3.5km into the walk. We checked the map and made a quick detour to this cache. Loving the area and various tracks. Only signing one cache per walk as we're filling in calendar dates so we will be back again soon! TFTC

Well that was pretty cool. Geohound happened upon this one , gave it the staff nudge and scared the life out of me ! . TFTC TNLNSL. All is well here. Visited some TB's.
The GPS got a little confused with all the trees I think. My geo senses were sharp on this little cutie and we were soon off on the next challenge.

My muggle friend Emma wanted to go for a walk and I suggested we come out here for a little 5km walk. We were so happy we picked here as it is such beautiful spot with lots of beautiful trees and paths. My muggle friend spotted this cache and we both admired it. Thanks for the fun
Just about to leave and I said to Was that looks a bit strange did u check it out. Of course it was the cache tftc
Our favourite pastime is having a nice walk in the countryside. We weren't sure what we would find here as there was a tremendous storm last night but it didn't stop us coming to look for the caches around Ewen Maddock Dam. The area was very wet, with puddles across the path and also fast streams in places. There were also a couple of trees that had fallen across the path so it was a case of climbing over them or finding a way round. We walked for over 5 miles and still didn't find them all, so we will be back.
This was our last find around the reservoir and made me laugh. I tapped it with a stick to start with - just in case. TFTC. Greetings from Cyprus and a favourite for the container.

This one gets a huge big WOW from me what a great cache it is! Thanks for placing it in the beautiful place.
A couple of medically-induced days indoors out of the wind and dust, so I was keen to ramp up a few kliks on the MTB My original plan to do the E.W.D. circuit was deferred but I came prepared to mud(dle) thru as many caches as poss As I pedalled down the main track the puddles got deeper and wider. At some point the track was impassable and so I veered onto the single trail to get uphill a bit. Any delusional thinking on my part about both the bike and me staying clean and dry went west Keeping up the momentum seemed to help with getting thru the thick mud and doable puddles and culverts. Sticking to the edge of the track and ducking branches also helped On the way back down the main track the water had dispersed and it was a comfortable pedal. Stopped to take a couple of pics from the dam wall I was praying for a cloudburst or three on the drive home, to rinse off the bike. Yup, the rains came in abundance but much of the sticky mud stayed put So hot shower and feet up with a after a muddy adventure along the lake trails. Bet it’s a spectacular trail on a dry day
Looked in all the obvious places and read the hint. Decided to backtrack a few metres and Almost tripped over the cache Nicely camouflaged! Weather and muggleproof. Have a FAVE point for your efforts.

I put out a call to do a little spin around the dam to clear a few caches that had popped up since my last caching visit some years back. nikid1 and Beardman expressed some interest and I had assured them it was a relatively flat track ( well except for the return journey).
Seems my partners do not stand by the theory of what goes on in the bush stays in the bush

Out and about on my new MTB which isn’t looking quite as shiny as when I started out the day. I’ve not seen a cache constructed like this before but it blended in nicely to its surrounds. Log book signed cache all sealed up, few steps back towards the bikes when I realise I’m still holding onto the log book. Luckily I knew where to find the cache to replace it.
I don't know what that was in the bush but it looked scary. Nikid1 made the find and she must have liked it so much that she decided to keep the log book. Lol. Ruzzelz and I had a snack while she replaced it in the container. Thanks for the cache
The last day of autumn dawned with a crisp but clear morning, a great time to go ride some of the trails and clear up the unfound caches on the western side of Ewen Maddock dam, starting from the southern end and working north.
It's a great time of year to ride, with cooler weather keeping the heat bearable. The tracks were in great shape with only a little mud that was easily avoided. Plenty of other track users were passed along the way, either hiking, jogging, cycling or horse-riding. All of the caches were found, most quickly with a couple requiring a decent search before being located.
This one was unable to be located on the first visit, so a return was needed. Not sure how we missed that the first time.
---
Log signed at 11:49 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie **The Drovers**. This log is trackable.

1st of 12 finds on an early morning stroll along the western bank of the dam. My first time to this neck of the woods and I really enjoyed the trails and the caches on offer. This one was a quick find for me, helped by rays of the rising sun putting the interesting container into the spotlight. Thanks for the cache, The Drovers!
This cache took us a little bit of time to find. We seemed to be going around in circles and the hint had me confused but these days I find emojis confusing. Since when does a poo have eyes? I was too busy looking up to take notice of what was down.
My wife and I seemed to be doing the do-si-do with each other. I wasn't going to let her find another cache on my watch and so I jumped in to look at each area she was interested in before she got there. When we had nothing I had to let her look on her own while I studied the form guide for any tips in the logs.
With a few clues we decided on one more loop and just as I was about to call it, I heard the words "this might be it". Snap! That tenacious beeyarch had one-upped me once again. tftc

Friday. Whilst Mr SP was out playing golf in the heat, Mrs SP headed north to Ewen Maddock Dam. In the heat...
Great cache container and after walking past this and doubling back I spotted it! There you are. I took a second look before making the grab and signing the log. Log was ever so slightly damp and had a musty smell to it, but otherwise it was all good and a great cache container. Replaced as found and moved on to the next cache.
This was the 4th of 6 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***The Drovers***, for showing us this place.

Another well camoed and slightly scary looking cache - and that was before I put my glasses on. Got quite a surprise when I did! The tracks around here clearly don't pay any attention to Google Maps, haha. TFTC The Drovers and Konie.

Quick easy fun find.
Met up with CDAH55 today to do some more caches around Ewen Maddock dam. Some he had already done and some I already had done and a few neither of us had done.
We completed this by bicycle. This is the only way to travel. By the end of the day this Energiser Bunny's batteries had run out. We were two cachers possessed, no stopping for rests or for snacks. We don't have time for those things, like normal people. We were determined that we would complete what we had started.
Unfotunately we ran out of daylight, and will have to come back and complete 3 more. CDAH55 complained about saddle soreness, I told him to toughen up. Full of sympathy I am.
Some of the distances were misleading as it is "by the crow flies". Unfortunately we are not crows and cannot fly over water. I don't think my bicycle would have approved of going for a swim.
This was another of several today.

Dora the Explorer and I had set a target today to gather the caches around Ewen Maddock Dam and it was decided that the best way to do it was by push bike. Some of the caches had already been found by Dora the Explorer and some had been found by me and some caches had been found by neither of us.
We succeeded in making it around the dam gathering all the caches bar three when light had failed us. The distances are deceiving as they are measured in a straight line. Some over water which we were not too keen to attempt on cycles. The next challenge was to determine which track to take when there are choices of many.
After arriving at GZ and a few laps of the area, the cache was found.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

Haven't been caching in way to long. This morning the drought broke. Mojojo and pocoyo and i went on bit of a run along the trails and collected a few of the caches. Such a pretty area to visit. Very lucky to have it on my door step. Thanks for the many many giggles girls.
Cache in great order.

Having spent way to long driving from home here, after a lot of peak hour traffic around Brisbane it was time to stretch the legs. I actually took a chance and went with an umbrella which worked out in the end.
Anyway I followed along the trails and soon found a number of geotrails in the area of GZ, having a little look around and soon I spotted something, thankfully the cache and not what it looked like, so got my name into the log and soon on my way to the next.

It was now time to head back down towards the water for a few of the caches around the dam. We were just scanning the GPSr's map, then looking at the terrain and they did not match. It was then decided that the GPSr was wrong.
But, in true ZooyDes fashion, we decided that we would take the more scenic route as it would be faster and that we wanted to get all the caches done. Just after we had done some light bush-bashing it was discovered that the GPSr was right-wrong... The easier track was there, but just not where it was saying it was...
Well, it has been a long time since ZooyDes got together and headed out on an adventure. We had to get the team back together and we decided that we would get out and hit up Ewen. It is surprising, as this is really the only place on the Coast that we can cache together and actually have caches that neither of us have found.
Thanks for the cache The Drovers. All is in order here.
It's amazing what a good chat between friends and Mother Nature can do for the soul. As in isolation, Mother Nature keeps all of your secrets and listens without judgment.

Met up with MinkosDes today to do some long overdue caching. We weren't going home until we found 100% of our finds and luckily we found all that we had set out for!
This particular cache we went off course some time before realising it was not necessary to bush bash our way in! This was a most unusual cache! I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking at when i spotted the cache's guardian.

Out and about in the area finding all of those caches I have not found on past visits.
A couple of the puzzles took awhile but I got there in the end. [^]
I started early to be this Autumn weather of 32C (forecast).
Again I enjoyed walking around a few new tracks seeing the bird life.
A quick find here after a short walk from the car and an (almost) straight line walk from my previous find.
Thanks for the cache.

Nice quick find as the sun is fading. Great job on the cache container! Thanks
Went to check on a few of our caches, and do some maintenance.
This has been damaged twice by previous finders, so we have changed
the camo and hope that it lasts a bit longer. Good luck and happy hunting.

We were out today walking along a few of the tracks at Ewen Maddock Dam and dropped by after solving a puzzle or two. We found the cache easily enough and while we were near the edge of the dam, we noticed the grass rustling and initially thought it was just some frogs that were being noisy, but then we noticed a green tree snake slithering along and making its way up the branches of a tree on the water's edge.
Thank you The Drovers for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy.

Heading up the coast for a few days. I decided to target a few of those little blue question marks on my way to Mapleton.
This was not a blue dot, but I was passing awfully close to it whilst on my way to a blue dot. I rode the trusty geocycle as close to GZ as I could. Not far to walk then.
The GPSr counted down as I got near. Nothing visible yet. Keep looking. Now that’s an odd looking thing.

We haven't been caching for a couple of weeks, so we headed out today in perfect weather. We had an enjoyable walk in to this GZ. Once there we enjoyed the disguise for this cache - very clever. The co-ords were spot on too. We took the TB and signed the log. TFTC
Decided that after 12 month break I would give caching a try again. Off on the trusty treadly to the tracks around Ewen Maddock Dam. Someone has done a lot of work on the tracks around the southern entrance since I was in here last. Great stuff. Nice easy cache to find for the first one back and a great camo job on the container.

Another cache before breakfast - snuck off for a walk before all the kids woke up at Tunnel Ridge ranch. Down the back paddock hill and met the public trail around the dam - nice shortcut by staying here.
Great views across the dam in the early morning light.
Followed the rough trail into the bush and checked out the scribbly gums.
Found the unusually camouflaged container hiding nearby. Didn't swap anything today.

It had been showery all morning so a parked near the gates and made my way towards GZ with my trusty umbrella.
What a lovely causeway and that house on the left has a magnificent view of the dam.
As I made my way to GZ I was thinking, geez we live in a beautiful area, and it wasn't long before I had a little bush bash into GZ once there it wasn't long until I found a well camouflaged container.
I retrieved the log and signed it before returning the cache as I found it.

Nice little find, the boy liked the container and nearly walked straight past it.
We had a nice little walk to get here and almost stood on one of the locals when we first got on the trail. He was beautiful so I've (hopefully) uploaded a pic.

Just out for a walk with Snow Bear after a days work, to get a couple of new caches. At first we didn't know what track to be on, but it wasn't long and we found where we needed to be. When Snow Bear spoted the cache first I called out to just grab it, A minute later she just turned to me with a smile.
After signing the log and putting things back it was time to head to the next cache before we loss daylight.
It's always nice to walk or ride around this part of the dam.

First day of school holidays so we took the geograndkids for a walk by the lake to do a couple of caches - this being the first. Once at GZ the youngest soon had the cache in hand regardless of the guardian, but we had to point out that not everything is harmless. They both enjoyed the adventure. TFTC
Out with IolantheK on the Sunshine coast in some pretty ordinary weather making areas of her map all smiles
After a break to let the weather blow over we headed out again, this time on the MTBs without the rain this time [^]
Left the MTBs at the edge of the track and went for a bit of a wander in the bush. Found the the well camoed cache spot on the co-ords.

It was 4pm, and T-Tech and I were just getting underway on our bike ride at Ewan Maddock Dam, a couple of hours later than intended due to the rain. 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were back at the car, with 6 smilies to our credit
Another muddy ride around to this one, and a short bush bash to GZ. This one was rather tricky to spot [^] Love the container. T-Tech made the find, but yelled out in fright as he grabbed it. Happily it was NOT what he thought TFTC, The Drovers.
