Logs

18-Nov-24
Out for an afternoon of caching in the Tinbeerwah area, picking up a few desired DTs along the way. This was my first find for the afternoon. This cache had been on its deathbed for some time, until I noticed a recent visit from Duppers and shazzar66 had recently made a temporary solution to the problem at hand. I parked up not too far away and wandered on over. Started on the wrong side of the road until I had a read of the logs and quickly amended that mistake, and had the cache in hand. Thanks for the hunt sierra1.

16-Nov-24
Coordinates had us pointing the other way. The logs helped. So many beautiful bird sounds at this stop. TFTC

16-Nov-24
We did find it and we signed the log - just pressed the wrong button on the app

Day 11 of my fortnight+ road trip up to Brisbane and back to Blue Mountains. A leisurely drive up. Avoiding GC power trails. Randomly driving to various spots that take my fancy. Geospouse Graubunden now with me for five days.Afternoon finds with Tinkerbell333 (who signed it already) and Graubunden. Nice quick stop. TFTC seirra1

Thank you for a replacement. My geocaching spouse and I had found it. We are geotourists from NSW.

28-Oct-24
Shazzar66 and I had a plan for today: Climb Mount Cooroora, find as many Pomona caches as possible, and also find "Wednesdays and Saturdays". Both for a Challenge Cache that needed some "Dangerous Climb" attributes. Having completed the (unpleasant) climb of Mt Cooroora, and finding lots of Pomona caches, we were making our way to Eumundi and we came upon this cache, so we had to stop and find it too.We parked across the road and made our way towards GZ, but couldn't find the cache. We then resorted to reading logs and looking at photos, which helped, however as previously noted, the original cache is missing. My guess is that the tether has snapped over time, and that the cache is at the bottom.Although we didn't have a proper container to replace the cache with, we had a spare mint tin, so we attached it with zip ties to the post. It is not a very discreet or professional cache replacement, but it was the best we could do with what we had left on hand.Thank, seirra1, for the cache. Unfortunately this one needs a bit of love from the CO, or a better replacement than we were able to make.

28-Oct-24
Shazzar66 and I replaced the missing cache with what we had: a mint tin and some zip ties. It really needs to be replaced properly. Going back through logs, it looks like it has been broken for about 12 months. It would be a shame for it to be archived.

25-Oct-24
Looking for a full day of caching, I packed my car and headed up the coast to camp at Duppers place so we could make an early start. We found somewhere safe to park and made our way to the cache.Given the string of DNFs or comments regarding the cache cable being broken and the cache missing, we placed a temporary container at GZ until the CO can get there to replace with something more permanent and keep it going.I found your cache, Muru-kutchi today.seirra1, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

Clever location. Found it after a short hunt. Some of the clues put us in the wrong spot, but the others were helpful. Thanks Siera1

Realised it had to be higher up as the floods would have washed it away…

A planned walk with Peppa to finish off a challenge we both were after had to be cancelled. Due to the recent weather events, the slippery conditions and high levels of water in both the creeks and at the crossings would have made for a dangerous situation. An invite from At The Lake House to join her for a paddle seemed a little more enjoyable and rescued the days events. This then put in action a different set of events and we then had a new plan to still complete our challenge cache.
I loaded the car and meet up with Peppa at a convenient spot and off we went. A little earlier than planned but that means we can catch a few butterflies along the way. My trusty navigator had us on point and we found some good little bag fillers along the way.

Still running a little early we decided to grab a few more this was the next. This was an easy stop but the gps put us about 8 metres away from the hide. Lucky there is a HUGE hint in the logs, but we were working our way there. We signed the log and replaced all as found. We were back to the car to continue to the next one. Thank you for placing this one here.

Out for the day with chamad…

The plan is to meet AtTheLakeHouse at Lake Weyba, paddle Eenie Creek and then go for a target cache on the edge of Kondalilla National Park… Meeting again at Carseldine Bunnings at 7am it’s going to be a big day…

We’re running early, so it’s a case of trying to compare maps on the go, whilst also making sure we don’t keep AtTheLakeHouse waiting for ever…

Geepers wanted us in the traditional cache location, but the spoiler pics said somewhere else… somewhere else is where we found the cache…

Tftc…

No wonder the Maroochy River floods when there are so many tributaries of the Maroochy heading to Pincushion and freedom of the the ocean.
From the cache the river travels nearly 30K's to pass Dunethin Rock and at least another 20 to the mouth at Pincushion despite only being half that distance as the crow flies.

Imagine what this whole area looked like 180 years ago !

A quick find in the spot expected.
Thanks sierra1

Visiting Eumundi and thought to pick up a few finds. The coordinates had us on the wrong side of the road but located it eventually with the help of the old spoiler photo. Clever hide, maybe tighten up the coords and delete the spoiler photo to improve the experience. TFTC!

Sneaky spot. Loved it

29-Dec-21
Fair to say that this area was ridiculously busy today and parking for the markets had extended out to this cache.. Crazy... Surprised

Fortunately, while cars were parked nearby, the owning muggles were long gone and the rod traffic was not going to interrupt a quick hunt. Big Grin

I fiddld around at my chosen spot for longer than I should have and had no cache to show for my efforts. Offset by about 6m, I quickly found the cache in the second area I inspected. [^]

Name added to the log and cache returned as found, Mrs Gunnie and I were off to enjoy the everglades. Smile

Cheers Sierra1, I trust you are well Sir.

Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest. Smile

You might want to ignore your compass initially as ours had us searching the wrong side of the road.
Out by as much as 8 to 10 metres? [?]
Take a seat & look across the road, that's where you need to be! Surprised
Quick find once AT GZ. Big Grin
Made our mark & replaced as found.

On my way home from a mountain bike ride on the Wooroi trails. Taking the scenic route to find some of these "new" caches along the way. Wink

This one is not so new. I did come looking for it a long time ago, but there were road works. Maybe the shiny foot bridge being built? Anyway I did not stop that day.

GPSr put me on the wrong side of the road. Previous logs were most helpful in directing me to GZ. [8]

Final day in Cooroy area heading home.

Scratched around for a while before seeing a photo from a previous cacher. Needed a tool to help retrieve the cache.

South for us was more like 144.

Cache and contents OK.

Log signed and cache replaced as found at 3:17 PM on February 21, 2021. TFTC, seirra1

On our way home from the recent on the Mary picking up caches on the old highway.

Like others we needed to check precious logs and then we had issues with the guardian. But a little determination soon had it released and we could sign our names.

I think it is getting hotter and not cooler.
