Quick cache find as we passed the area again.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the tenth day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was so hot. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. Sunrise caching! We are supporting our mate who is running to Darwin (@curlyrunsnz). He started at Stewart Island in November, just south of the South Island of New Zealand and made to Cape Reinga at the tip of the North Island by New Years Day. He then flew to Tasmania, ran to the ferry terminal in Devonport and sailed to Geelong. Since then it has been a long hard slog across Victoria and into South Australia up the Stuart Highway but he is now close to the finish line in Darwin.Doodle Bug Oz, I found Thanks to Katherine today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, a nice quick find, thanks for placing it
Day 79 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic, after a the JLWEvents in Wudinna SA, a tour of Maralinga and caching to claim LGAs in the Eyre Peninsula, through to Alice Springs, Uluru, Darwin, Kakadu and Litchfield we continue our journey back south. It is also day 78 of a streak, so we are keeping it rolling.
Cache found quickly and in good condition. This was missing on the way up so nice to redeem the DNF.

Went out to the Cutta Cutta Caves this morning but couldn’t get in because the misses had open toe’d shoes, will try again tomorrow morning with steel capped safety boot At least we had some time to grab a few caches on the way back to the museum and then camp. We also grabbed a few caches later on the way out to the Hot Springs this afternoon.
This was to be a quick grab on the way past but a young couple pulled up right behind us to take photo’s with the sign in the background, when they departed I made a quick grab but before I could depart I realized my thongs were caked with bindi eye thorns, took me ages to clean them out

We came to the Northern Territory for the first time this year, and although we arent absolute fanatical cachers we do like to get a few wherever we travel. This one almost had us beat, it was our last one for the day and we think we were just a bit tired. One good reach in the end by Mr Kookacrew and he had the lil sucker. We were actually a bit suprised at how many caches were In and around Katherine. We did all the typical touristy things first then did a cruise of Katherine and beyond to pick up random caches.
Thanks Doodle Bug Oz for the cache and adding to the journey, nice to meet you at the Darwin event too. Found it, signed it, and replaced safe and sound as found. TNLN

I drove across the parkland from the cemetery cache and found deep shade to park in. I crossed the road between the traffic, but then couldn't spot the cache. Figuring the cache might be high I returned and fetched a stool. Turned out I could reach the cache; it was just tiny and tricky to spot from my height. Got to love (or likely not) those nanos . Found at 11:21:00 AM(t) GAFF1.
Gosh - we struggled here for a simple 1.5/1.5! We eventually found the little nano by feel [B)]

After attending the mega in Townsville we are now heading for Darwin. First a couple of nights in Katherine at the Riverview cp. This was one of the caches we targeted and found. Thanks for arranging the hide.

Decided not to stop in Katherine on our way back to Darwin, but wanted to grab at least one cache to prove I had been there. TFTC!
A BIG thank you to parkcruz for replacing this cache for us - much appreciated
We met Doodle Bug Oz at a recent event in Darwin and mentioned we were heading to Katherine which was just what they needed, the cache and log book have been replaced Thanks for the cache DBO
My roadtrip up to Darwin continues. Quick find but hard to get because it was so high, tftc! The logbook is full
Cache needs a new log so I am disabling this until my next trip down to Katherine which will be within the next fortnight. Fingers crossed CoVid doesn’t change my plans …
I had a bit of trouble getting this cache out from where it was stuck, and had to trek back to the car for some help. A couple of handy tools enabled me to extract what I needed. The log is very full.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Timber Creek (NT) to Litchfield NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Doodle Bug Oz' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Thanks to Katherine' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

We're on our way south from Darwin through Katherine to head west to Broome. Great to get this welcome cache along the way. TFTC
We continue our journey to Katherine Park a little earlier than expected since our 2WD campervan is not allowed to go on sniff tracks !!! We will make a few stops at the sight of green dots .... the road will seem much shorter . Thanks to all the installers for the work done. Hello from France. ***********************************

Our time in atherine is over, time to head North for our last couple of days in Darwin. Stopped , off here on the way back and snagged a Q E F, thanks Doodle Bug Oz.
A bit of a number-boosting power trail on offer, though I only found 3 of them. Enough to end the days caching and head off for a clean up before dinner. T F T C s Lumpyjrb
We arrived late-ish yesterday and had pre-booked a river cruise for 0900 today so was confident of a nice visit to the River gorge and let mrs capperz share the great scenery. We were not disappointed and took in the marvellous sights all around, and even a freshie croc on the way back.
On the road down to Katherine for a couple of days, and caches, and the scenery is awesome. Whilst down there we headed in via Litchfield and managed to snag an awesome 5 Earthcaches - yay. Also did the boat cruise, an awesome meal at the RSL and a good couple of days road trip.
We're in Darwin after our few days way out West and rather than slim pickings (geocache-wise) there's a feast of finds up for grabs. As it turned out we found a modest amount of finds and just picked at a few here and there rather than the gluttonous frenzy last time I visited in 2012. We were initially staying in the Alatai but that lasted one night before we moved to better digs on Mitchell - wise choice.
It's that time of year at last when we're heading off on a 2 week break to Australia. We're travelling in 2 distinct phases; see our son and his family in Broome for 5 nights then up to Darwin and NT for a 6 night break before heading back to NZ for Winter, brrrr. There were not many Broome caches to be found as we had visited in September 2016, but there were a couple of newbies available and a revisit to some previously enjoyed sights and sites. A great break and good to get some mid-year sun to recharge the batteries. Main focus was Earthcaches and any collateral solved/qualified for Puzzles and Challenges as well as a friendly Event in Darwin on our first night in town. A good trip all round and nice time was had.

After the trip south from Darwin, this one was too close to the road to ignore, so I had to pull up and have a quick look. Out of the car, I spotted the container as I moved in,so made a quick retrieval... [^]
Back to the car for business, I added my name to the log, reassembled everything, then replaced as found. Nice to be back in town for a couple of days, I look forward to gathering some more icons while up from Brisbane.
Cheers Doodle Bug Oz.

A quiet day in Katherine as we prepare to start travelling south east on our way to visit the grandkids in Cairns then Weipa. It has been a long trip since the Red Centre Experience over Easter as we have visited the west coast , traversed the Gibb River Road and I squeezed in 2 week trip to Cambodia and Vietnam.
A really relaxed day with 5 quick easy finds. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us to find. All logs were signed, mostly as SG as I so often do in small caches to save space.
Echo the sentiment regarding the local cachers who have contributed so much to this area so that many of can enjoy our hobby far away from home.

Hi there Doodle Bug Oz - today is a R & R day so after some shopping we drove around Katherine for and hour or so quite aimlessly seeing the sights and finding a few caches . This cache was found along the way and both cache and log are in good condition. This is our find #4978 - thanks to Doodle Bug Oz for this cache.
Found at 12:06:00 PM. Heading North to escape the cold weather. Great to find caravan accessible caches along the way.

we found a range of caches some day with Team Cracker, Felix II and firesafe on the way home.

We decided to stay the night in Katherine, mainly to do the Cutta Cutta caves tour and then see how many other local caches we could locate whilst exploring the area.
We too would like to thank all the local cachers for putting out so many hides for our enjoyment especially Lumpyjrb and grey team who seem to be fairly prolific cache placer sin the area.
We had the pleasure of meeting Lumpyjrb in Ballarat Victoria when they beat us to a FTF by minutes so they obviously travel quite a bit as well.
This cache was an easy find on a much busier road than expected and our name has been added to the log.
Thanks Doodle bug Oz for the cache.

Pulled into the caravan park just before lunch. Had lunch & a rest then headed out to locate a few caches. This took us on a great tiki tour around the country side.
A great reason to place a cache.
Grey Team has just recently moved to our home town of Port Macquarie & already they are making their mark there.

#6993 - 13:55; Day 18 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. Following a night in Mataranka Springs we continued enroute to Darwin after attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs refreshed after a swim to start the day. We were headed to Adelaide River to spend the night, passing through Katherine and Pine Creek The caching picked up again today after a couple of quiet ones as we covered some big distances. We managed 47 finds and 10 DNFs along with a few trig points for the day. All caches found were in good nick, including this one. TFTC
