Kashbound is on geocaching finding steroids!
Sitting on ground and he just picks it up. Wt?
Regardless, thank goodness and I am so relieved to not do another marathon search.

again not sure about that
So lucky with the crisp winter evening… what could be better really. A kid free, romantic weekend away with my Welder. While many couples would be sipping wine and cuddling by the fire, we often choose to spend our rare free time caching… we love it! And as often goes when caching with the Welder, night caches are what we do best. Thanks for a memorable night of fun!
Heymissjo and I were enjoying chasing high difficulty Gonefishen07 caches tonight. And a journey under the stars, up and down the massive sand dunes of this impressive beach was totally In keeping with our spirit of adventure.
The tide was starting to come in noticeably, so we kept one eye towards the sea as we clamboured up to this GZ. It was a nice location with plenty of possibilities, and though it was overlooked a few times, the perfect coordinates kept leading me back to something. Eventually, I was able to overcome my utter lack of geo-sense and finally investigated that something I should have looked at earlier.
And naturally, there was the cache!
We didn't linger as the tide was of concern, so a quick sign in was followed by an even quicker retreat down to the beach.
Thanks, Gonefishen07, for a wonderful adventure in a remarkable setting that was a great test of geo-sense.
It is nasty, very nasty, but oh what a feeling when that logbook was signed.
Another great cache from Gonefishen07. Thanks for the early morning workout.
Last one on the list of must hits today and what a quick find it was.... purely because I had forgotten I had been here before.... ah well not much you can do about that. Eitherway thanks for all the devilish hides. I cannot wait to do some more around the area.
In the end, we were able to grab some neat D/T combos and check out some other great caches in the area with a fun time had all round.
I don't commonly find myself at D5s, only having ever conquered two in my time (technically one, as I'd recently discovered a D3.5 I'd found previously had been upped to a D5 after some maintenance), so this trio was quite the incentive to head further down this way.
Having regularly visited the region for some time now, I'd always seen these perched on my map but had never gone and attempted them, so it's rather convenient that I went and tried them alongside two cachers quite well-versed in the high difficulty category!
This was probably the easiest of the three, largely as it turned out buhfuhguh had made a previously forgotten visit!
Sure enough, he made a quick and somewhat familiar find with his name already hanging out in there on a date a couple of years ago.
Ours were added a bit further down while I emptied out my shoes that had accumulated a frankly impressive amount of sand during our exploration of the dunes.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache!

*Cache find # 11401.*
I have had Nasty Nasty! on my to do list for some time now and seeing that I was in Bass for a couple of events, I decided to team up with buhfuhguh and Brainic03 and once the events were finished we headed for this group of 3 caches to try our luck.
We were now on our way to the 3rd one in this group, this one was a little easier to get too, once we arrived the search began, while I was looking around else where , Michael headed in and under and was able to make a quick find.
Once the log was retrieved we realised why He had found it quickly, the reason was that his name was already on the log sheet be was never logged as a find, it will be this time I'm sure.
**Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.**
We’ll be back for another crack at this one. Thanks anyway Gonefishen07.

Just caache blind, i guess.

Thank you for the hide Gonefishen07
Heading to Philip Island for a conference from Canberra. I left last night and slept in the back of the car for a few hours before continuing bright and early to maximise the time I had available to find a few high D/T caches along this stretch of beach. I DNF'd this one last year, so was keen to give it another go today. I was prepared for a long search but fortunately found it within 5 minutes this time. TFTC.
Given the D/T, NW and I were preparing ourselves for a protracted search. After searching a little in one particular area I consulted the gadget and saw I needed to be in a different spot. A few minutes later and HAPPY DANCE time. Glad to have filled in this square.
Caching with leafotwind this afternoon and we had mentally prepared ourselves for a prolonged search at GZ.
We should have known better.
Not too long after arriving, lotw popped up with a huge smile. "Found it!" [^]
Thanks for yet another great cache Gonefishen07.
The weather is not bad
Found it
Thanks Gonefishen07
Given there is 6 DNFs in a row, since the last finder in Jan 2016, would be nice to go there knowing this has been checked/replaced.
Thanks
Despite the recent DNFs I thought I'd give this one a go as I needed the D/T combination. But alas, after about 30 mins I gave up.
Unfortunately a DNF here. I will be Back.
Cache certainly lived up to its name. After a while looking had to concede a second DNF for the morning.
Thanks Gonefishen07
And the Second 'Did not Find'
I don't like this trend!
We searched for a even longer time then the last cache.
Out caching with D@geo.
Thank you anyway for the hide Gonefishen07
I don't know whose idea it was to take the direct approach to the cache, through rather heavy vegetation ... after all, we were only about 100m away from the cache! We ended up crawling on all fours to get through. All good, with a cache find as a reward. And this was a nasty one! It was good that G had found it previously and could check notes. TFTC!
It was rather an adventure to get through, and managed to smash my leg into a very sharp low lying branch and cut it open through my jeans [:S] but we kept going.
In the end we popped out onto the beach and headed to this hide, feeling pretty rotten as I hadn't taken any water with me (we weren't going to be doing this originally after all)
With the eyes looking and looking we finally had the cache in hand and a new D/T to add to my list

Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the cache.
A DNF here for us after almost 20 minutes, and even Jacko83 who had previously found it couldn't find it again. A tough one indeed!
Thanks for the hunt, Gonefishen07 - I'll be back!

Arriving at GZ wasn't as hard as some of other caches we have done today. A cute little spot was spotted and the GPS and our phones all indicated that was the area, it was already darkish in there and searching wasn't easy. There were signs of where others had search.. or were they decoys? Who knows with this CO and her band of misfit helpers!
So once again all of us searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. searching ... searching... searching.. searching .. searching... searching.. Light fading, I text my husband to say I'll be home later than expected... a prompt unhappy message back... damn it!! my mood dropped and the urgency to find this cache rose. GJM and MS both using the PAF option at this stage.. no one answering... the CO... nope I have already dialed her number a few times... then GJM got onto someone we spoke to at the first DNF, they had a great memory and described the hide we thought we were looking for and a more specific location.. we were looking for the correct style and in the correct location just not hard enough it seems. About 30 seconds later BINGO!! I had it in my hand. The log was signed and we were all happy! Thank goodness hat wasn't another DNF!
I found a cute little fly catchers nest in the Banksia at GZ and some sort of spiders web in a stick that looked like a white star ( pic attached)
A fav point from me for the adventure today (will award it when I have one spare)

This was the last of 4 caches on our list.. The previous 3 had been DNF's
We used a couple of PAF options as the light was fading and TeamThommo need to get home.
Finally the cache was located and the log signed.. We made a quick retreat back to the car, just as the sun went down taking our light with it.
Thanks GoneFishen for the high D/T caches to help us complete our Matrix
Caching in the area today with Glanville Girls, ST37E, and The Tritonz with the mission of filling our D/T Grid

Today I was being a glutton for punishment. Having already done one dune climb, then a challenging bike ride around the desal plant, my legs were starting to burn. I wanted more, and along Williamsons Beach I certainly found the caching punishment I was looking for. GF07 certainly knows how to deal out to tough caches, both by location and hide, and the caches along here will certainly separate the 'men from the boys', for use a common cliche.
The day was going by fast and the daylight beginning to fade fast. Two more caches to go and this was one of them. It was one steep ascent to get to GZ and once there the search began. There were so many possible hiding spots, and previous searches had obviously checked many of them. Eventually (after a little coaxing form the CO) I was able to narrow down the search area and eventually had my hands on the very well disguised cache. Thanks GF07.
I headed down from Newcastle yesterday to try my hand at some of the more difficult caches in the area, and although there were some caches here that had made a reputation for being difficult to find...I had no idea how difficult they were until it came time to find them myself. Having already found a couple of caches along the dunes, with the title given to this one...I was beginning to wonder whether I would eat again today given that I could be here for hours...so after a quick bite to eat...I headed out here with the CO for some cache maintenance...and of course...to provide the entertainment for the afternoon while I set about trying to find it. After much prompting and guidance where not to look...the cache was eventually picked up 20 mins later. Phew! Now...on to the next one! These caches have certainly raised the bar for a D5 cache.
Gratias Gonefishen07.
Thanks Gonefishen for the caches
We were on a mission today, to go somewhere with big waves and caches. I chose to widen that mission and re-complete my P81 challenge (which unfortunately uncompleted with a D/T change of one of my completed caches). So Powlett River / Williamsons Beach was our target.
This was my main target of the day. With the family back at the car, I didn't want to spend too long here. Looking at the timestamp of my previous find, it was about an hour.
I, like others, looked in (what I assumed was) the most likely area. It also has lots of suspiciously ordered collections of deutritus, almost as if someone has systematically inspected them all and lined them up. I went through them all, and many more besides before I expanded my thinking (and read previous logs), and found the cache.
I almost overlooked the hide on my inspection, but something made me go back for a second look. This is nasty, but I'll give it a favourite (Why do we reward the ones that make us suffer?)
With the finding of this cache, my P81 is re-completed. I decided to take a victory "selfie".
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07.

Find #4396
I had a good nights sleep in the Wonthaggi area and the plan was to find a few more local caches in the cooler weather and gradually make my way towards Phillip Island for the night.
After finding the 10 x 10 and 20 x 20 challenges, I headed back along the beach to this one. I was lucky enough to bump inte pprass, maccamob and phetlern.
After spending almost one and a half hours yesterday with sharkiefan and °, I was determined to give it another go. This one is indeed nasty. After yesterday's efforts, I did not hold up much hope, but I was in luck and spotted something I did not see yesterday and it was actually the cache. Wow, what a fantastic hide, camo works well.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.
Time to tackle some of the more challenging placements by a certain fish'n person. Cognisant of the sensitivity of some of the areas we were to visit the three teams (Maccamob, Pprass and Phetlern) were each cut by 50%, the other half being given a spending allowance as compensation. Travel arrangements and drop off sorted, we ventured forth.
This was our first major target and it turned out to be a significant search. We first started in the covered area and then extended our search elsewhere without success. After 30 - 40 minutes, the trusty PAF was utilized (thanks Jacko) and an indication of what we were looking for and where it might be located was established, including an image. Phew, still no container to be found! About to give up and press the DNF button, P-P perchance put his hand in a previously searched spot and came up with the goods. Phew, that was hard and nasty too, but we'll still allocate a favorite.
Satellites today had our GZ 3m W of the cache location.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the hunt.

We spent ages looking for this one - inspecting every piece of branch, leaf, pod and rubbish. We eventually received some information to hone in on a particular area and even then we struggled. I finally had had enough and made a call to pull the pin and as Phetlern was about to press the DNF button on his GPSr, he looked down and there it was! That was very well covered [B)]
Thanks Gonefishen07.

Thanks Leesa for a fun day.
Back down in Kilcunda today on this lovely sunny day. Back in a familiar area with today's plan to tackle another string of high terrain caches south of Powlett River.
OMG!!! This one took ages to find. After spending about 60 mintues and expanding the grid as previous logs suggested, still now luck. So being keen to find this as was required for my 3rd loop I used a PAF to gain some a hint for this evil hide. So with more knowledge known of what to look, the hunt continued and finally after another 30 minutes the cache was finally found in a spot I swear I had looked earlier. Wow it is so easily to miss this one, so very very nasty! indeed. A very satisfying find in the end and a hunt I will never forget. A favorite[^] for both location and the challenge.

[green] Got it![/green]
My last visit Id already run out of time and it was getting dark so really didn’t have a good search, this time however I arrived at GZ with still plenty of daylight. GPSr took me to the same location, so had a brief search but it was obvious that others had been looking in the same location. Then decided to follow the lead of the first to find and expand the search area to locations less trampled on, picking up Items for closer inspection. Pretty much tried every thing that I had seen from this cache builder before and then some, until this very seriously nasty cache reveled itself. After a short struggle removing the log a very relieved cacher put his name on the scroll
Thx Gonefishing for the challange

A much better morning with the clear skies giving us good stable coordinates. Found after extending our search a little from our original GZ taking us just over 20 minutes. Thanks for the challenge.
