Logs
Lots of beating around the bush but no success. Circling wide and looking for clues in the logs didn't help.
10 of us looked for 15 minutes - no sign of this one. Either gone or if it’s here definitely not a 1.5 difficulty...
We didn't really understand the name - but that was no problem as SoBad spotted the cache on approach although Mrs SoBad had over run it. Her excuse is she had the phone and he had the more reliable GPS. The logbook was damp but able to be signed.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It was such a nice morning decided to go for a cyclo cache with Miss 7. We managed 10km easy with a few stops for caches. This cache has seen better days but recent replacement log books are still OK to write on. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
Found on a quiet Monday wander along some trails that could be very busy during the weekend
Found it. Hidden in plain sight. Ridden here loads of times and had no idea.
We are at level 2 so geocaching is permitted.

Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
The virus can survive on plastic and paper for longer than three days
If you would like a geocaching related activity to do while you are observing the lockdown, I welcome messages about how to solve my puzzle caches - I am happy to give hints and tutorials so you have lots of new caches to find when this is over.

After a long search we finally found it .So easy when find. Why didn't I look there first. I replaced the damp notebook with a new one.
Thank you cache, the little fantail was distracting myself from the cache -the writing pad is damp
#3,518: Biking Smiley!
I came to this one after the nice CITO event today. I brought my bike with me in case I had some time afterwards, which it turned out I did. Only time to pick up three caches, but a nice day all in all.

Emerged from the Bush having not found it on a first glance with geodog pulling me through the brushes. Fellow cacher who was at the CITO, and had just found it ( so I noticed once log was in hand) came biking past and gave me a solid clue! Thanks for the clue and Tftc
Took myself on an outing to find a few caches a bit north. Great fun, and thanks to all the CO's! The cache has seen better days. TFTC!!
A nice quick find with Nanzie on the way home from Sir Belac's 12th birthday. Thanks Nosynel

Paddle chick and I were heading back to Nelson after spending the weekend with family as it was my grandsons 12th birthday and had to do a detour to get a couple of caches. After tripping over a rabbit hole we found the cache. Thanks for this cache Nosynel
Found it! Cool walk through towards the beach. Great hint after I thought about it for a bit!
Found on an afternoon walk in this lovely area. TFTC

Frustrating search for this Gakky? cache. But in the end, I came up empty handed.
New Year’s Day and I went for a ride of the tracks near the beach in the Pegasus region, hoping to pick up a few caches along the way. Ended up with 11. Straightforward find. #1579. TFTC.
See previous log for TheBuddyolpals. We just realised we have 2similar accounts so are merging them.
Well, we were wet anyway and close by, so just walked the 500m or so and grabbed this cache. TFTC
Two years ago this was a DNF for us but today it was sitting right in front of us! How all the pine trees have grown too. Now for a walk over to the beach......Charlie Dog having a ball sniffing out rabbits. Tftc
A quick easy find before heading back home for lunch not sure what would have been at the bottom of ones bag but thankfully at the bottom of ours (always) was a pen. TFTC.
We decided to go to Woodend and have a walk and look for some caches.
This one was a quick find because we found the original cache laid out in the open! There has been a lot of tree lopping very recently around GZ so there were small branches everywhere. We couldn't see the hint which Sonia refers to in her log (maybe it's under the cuttings) so we rehid the container that we found under some bark in the top of the obvious place. The GPS was reading <3m at this spot so I hope others can find it.

Went for a wander after the CITO with some fellow cachers. This was our first stop. Plenty of eyes on the ground, and in the trees, but we couldn't find the cache. After contacting the CO we were told to replace the cache. Nobody had any paper on hand so we came up with a creative idea and hid our "log" book at GZ.
TFTC. Post CITO wander to find a couple of caches.
Our merry band was made up with kcn, mrdan, sonia26642 and jess.daphne + Injeanious who are two lovely ladies who have more recently joined the caching ranks.
It was lovely to wander the tracks of the forest and chat.
After widening our search zone I decided to call the CO. She recommended replacing the cache. Job done.
Log signed and we were on our way.
Thanks Nosynel for sorting out the cache placement.

After the CITO event, Sonia + asked who was interested in joining her to find a couple of caches. As I haven't been out for so long unless mother in tow, I decided to join in. All I grabbed while looking was blackberry in the hand. We widened the search area to no avail but with permission from cache owner, we replaced cache. Hmmm wonder how far the original cache crept - making off for a new home somewhere obviously.
Before leaving home to attend the CITO nearby, I scoped out a few nearby caches that required a bit of walking to, with the plan being to con some people into going with me. Luckily I wasn't the only one who had this idea, so in the end six of us set off after the CITO. Spent quite some time here before giving up and eventually purdiepurdie gave the CO a call... cache replaced. TFTC (3179)
After the CITO event we went out with a lovely group to find a few more caches. This one had us searching everywhere with no luck. After a call to the CO we made a replacement with what we could find on the spot. TFTC!

So, after the CITO event, I was keen on clearing out this cache, plus the two nearby puzzles that I'd solved ages ago!
Asked around at the event who was keen, and it ended up being a gang of me, purdie purdie, mrdan, jess.daphne, injeanious & kcn.
This was number one on our way - and the lot of us fine combed about a 15m or maybe more radius, with no luck at all... grr!!
So a PAF was made, and permission was granted to replace the cache - will upload a photo of our amazing replacement cache which was very making do with what we had on hand!! The hint is now stump - the back one of the two
Consec caching day # 1414

#12242. We didn't have too long to search, as the CITO start time was approaching. For a while it looked like we would be stumped, but after I widened the search area a little I soon spotted something a little out of place. Nice hide! TFTC.
The last of three caches we found "en route" to the CITO event at Woodend Beach and the one that took the longest to find. First, a group of muggles chose a location within sight of GZ to have a catchup, so we had to keep one eye on them while searching. Also, the lack of size specified had us searching in all the wrong places for a particular sized container.
StreetWalker widened the search area a little and then spotted the hide. Phew! We will have to return another time to find the other caches in the area. TFTC.

It was our intention to do a lot more caches today but at this one and the search after this my GPS unit started playing up badly that made any more searches impossible. This cache was turned up eventually.
Yay! Another nosynel. Got up to take a look at the ocean this morning and wanted to do a couple more caches. TFTC!
Early morning and me explorations took me to Woodend Beach for a stroll
First up there were a couple of caches to the south to find.
I read the track closure signs
But wait !! The 'Pegasus Walk' remains open !!
(Just expect delays if the logging gets close to the trail)
So off I trotted and was soon at GZ.
A quick poke around and ... Gaaack !! [:o]
A cache !!
I scribbled me name in the logbook in crayon [:o)]

After the Mega I'm staying at Woodend Beach Holiday Park. Enjoyed an after dinner walk in the forest to pick up previously solved puzzles. With all the recent felling at least this cache is still here.
A huge "thank you" to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find.

This was the eleventh day of my fifteen day trip to go to the Christchurch Mega. Supernanny, another cacher, and I took the scenic path along the beach and then headed into the bush to find this cache. The path out was more obvious and much easier. TFTC.
Teamed up with another couple of cachers and headed into the woods from the beach so a bit of bush bashing was involved I had sporadic coverage so wasn't the quickest of finds but I got there first after finding the track tftc
7151. Went for a short walk after planting a few trees. A very quick and easy find. Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
Took a walk and ran into Sallies. This was a little walk and soon was nearby to GZ. We started taking a look, and I was looking in the most obvious spot, while sallies found it nearby. The log was signed and we moved on.

Thanks Nosynel....found when in forest with a few other cachers during Mega Event !
Found a way into the park and managed to find this one while being watched by previous finders. Doh, the pressure. However, soon had it in hand. Cheers
Due to current logging operations access to this cache is not available Mon-Fri, between the hours of 7am-5pm daily. This restriction applies to the 31st October 2015. (Signs posted at the gate at the end of Ferry Rd, Woodend Beach and also on the Pegasus Bay Walkway at S43 21.151 E172 42.375). All the forest north of those coords up to Woodend Beach Road is currently being logged.
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
Stayed in the nearby van park and enjoyed our afternoon walk.

Mr Sharpe was searching and searching and then about to give up when he noticed Mrs Sharpe signing the log book. He didn't hear her say she'd found it. (Should have left him searching some more)
Took a wee while to find, and I am glad it did, as there was a big clang from my bike, which was lying on the ground, and when I investigated, I had 5 broken spokes. Would have been interesting if I had been going down hill, as the wheel no longer turned!
Thanks for the hide.

No luck for us here and lots of evidence that some frantic searching had been going on. We'll be back.....
Scored this one on an early morning bike ride whilst camping nearby. Thanks Nosynel
Out and about on a FTF mission in the area and headed out on the MTB. I ended up doing about 10km over 45mins grabbing a few caches here and there. Great quick ride on a blustery hot summers day.
I had only just DNFed this the other day but a friend gave me a hint as to where I went wrong. Quick find and off to Woodend to grab just one more.
Thanks for the cache.

In the general area just getting on dark.....torch in hand and a bit of a wander and I soon at GZ...an expanding search soon had the cache in hand. Love this track - but the boys don't like the mix of little wheels and sand when we try and bike it! Cheers. Right - time to wander out. Not surprisingly I had the place to myself?! LOL.
No luck today! Spent about 10 mins getting wet. I'll be back.
