Doing a check on some challenge caches and I knew I would qualify for this one but it meant getting in and finding some events. The system on project gc puts up a question mark if it thinks you may be close, so it now means you have to check each challenge yourself if the tick is not green. I will do my checks just the same. I remember doing this type of challenge when I first started caching and each month it was a task to see what and where we would go to collect caches for certain requirements. Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we are now back staying in Christchurch drove out to Rolleston to do a couple of messages, then shifted to Springston/Lincoln area to do a couple that were on Mrs McMike2012s hit-list, this being one of them we had been out to Springston early today & got Vonnies Corner, which gave us the required V for November, we had all the other required caches so were also pleased to do the Final today log-book easily found, signed & cache returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,459 for us!

I signed the log today and will follow up with a found log once I meet the requirements or confirm that I have already done so. Thanks for this challenge as this and other challenge caches always add to my to do list which adds another interesting aspect of geocaching. Were also carrying out maintenance along the way on behalf of the CO replacing many damaged containers and logs which the CO was happy to supply and for which we are very grateful.

I was also very amused by the Kea parrots, which take care of the entertainment of tourists in Arthurs Pass at the caf. I found a total of 40 caches and in the evening I arrived in Christchurch, from where I am leaving tomorrow for the North Island. We are visiting from Washington state in the US near geocaching HQ. We initially landed in Wellington on January 15. We found GC46 there, then took the ferry to Picton. We event a nice day at Lochmara Lodge. The next day we headed to Nelson via Havelock where we stopped and had green shelled mussels for lunch.We had a grand time in Nelson where we hosted an event. Then out to Patons Rock on Golden Bay. One day we took a hike to Wainui Falls. Glorious. I highly recommend the hike. Not to tough.We drove from Patons Rock via Greymouth to Christchurch. It rained hard from Greymouth to Arthurs Pass.Yesterday, we hosted an event here in Christchurch. This morning I got up early and came out to this piece of highway to find these challenge caches. I found 11 out of 12. Pretty good. Now to check if I qualify.Thanks for the challenges.

This was a "must-do" for me while in Canterbury.

In 2015, I created my own version of these fantastic little Challenges in Australia - with gracie7 + Mum's permission. I had attempted to get these NZ versions back in 2015, but I have memories of a dog barrelling out at me at the GZ of one of the caches. I was rattled by that so I pulled up stumps only after a few caches.

Back today with 1MinnieMoo - no ferocious dogs with blood dripping off their fangs today. But I did note the road seemed a lot busier (who'd have thought with a 8 year gap?)

We found this cache safe and sound. I listed my qualifiers for these caches on 24/12/2014 (eg as [here]( https://coord.info/GLGAJWKT))

Fangsoki and I arrived overnight from Brisbane for a 3 week journey around New Zealand’s South Island. This is my first time in the country, and we have been picking and choosing the caches for the list for months. Actually, truth be told, we started planning this a couple of years ago, however covid put a squash on the plans back then, causing us to also miss out on the Auckland mega.
Thankfully nothing stopped us this time, and today marks the start of our adventures.
Fangsoki has a penchant for challenge caches, so these were first on the list after grabbing the webcam.
Luckily for me, Fangsoki has similar challenges to these back in Brisbane, which I have completed, so the qualifying caches were easy to sort.

When TwigNZ announced he was going to find 200 in a day I decided to help by being his driver. That turned out to be good as of the three series he targeted to find I had already found two of them. Soon Itchyfeet2020 decided to join us and then it was a massive of case of solving puzzles. Many thanks to IF2020 for all the route planning. Logs signed with our group name of TINT.

The caches I log are going towards the 50 in a day segment for the DGSc challenge in the West Coast. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache gracie7 + Mum.

I've flown down to the Garden City with Itchyfeet2020 and NZ_B for the weekend, and what a weekend it has been! Cumulatively we had targeted so many personal challenges, individual caches we wanted to get, 'things' we wanted to do etc, that teaming up with these two caching troopers has been one of the best things I've done in ages. We've achieved so much in our short time here that my mind (and body) is still reeling. I'm sure the enormity will still be sinking in for many days to come.

All our signing of logbooks this weekend has been as T.I.N.T (for Team Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, and TwigNZ) regardless of how many of the 3 of us are claiming any particular cache (as some of us may have found it previously).

Today was our big day, the main point of the whole trip down - trying to get 200+ caches in 1 day.
This turned out to be a huge success for us, achieved by targeting 3 geoart series (Eclipse, Metal Mania, and Smurfs) to give us as little driving as possible, and any other caches we would be literally driving right past at the time.

We started with the Eclipse series as that was closest to our accommodation in Darfield, then dropped down to the Metal Mania caches, finally moving back westwards so that we would be close to home when exhausted by the end of our day. The driving was shared, but was mostly provided by NZ_B, with an excellent job of route planning courtesy of Itchyfeet2020. A truly joint effort for which I'm very grateful.

Our main numbers for the day are;

I apologise for the generic 'cut n paste' nature of my logs. If anything individually stands out in my memory about our experience at GZ then I will try to mention it. Certainly the puzzles themselves were a mix of easy and truly frustrating, but between us we got them all solved in the end.

NZ_B, TwigNZ and I have come to Christchurch to complete a number of shared and individual challenges. Today is the BIG day - a goal of over 200. The route has been planned and caches listed in order with hint, side of road and next driving instruction. Start time is 5.30am and we finished at 9.30pm with 230 for me.
We saw sunrise and sunset and had some great laughs as well. As part of our day we included these spelling challenges, only some of which I qualify for thus far, and this is one of them. TFTC - caches in great condition.

The idea of doing 200+ caches in one day had been one that I had considered for a long time, but not something I had made any moves on doing anything about until the idea was raised by others in a geocaching group I am a part of. As we were all based in Wellington, the logical place to try this was Christchurch with it's lovely flat lands, long straight roads, and wonderful art work series. Unfortunately the weekend that worked for most of the group was not one that worked out for me, so instead I came down here a few weeks earlier than they planned to and did the the trip by myself.

I started finding Geocaches at exactly midnight on Sunday. I kept finding Geocaches for the next nineteen and a half hours, when at about 7:30pm I decided that the tiredness was getting to a point where this was no longer a sensible idea. I found:

For a total of 212 Geocaches in 19.5 hours. That's a rate of 10.9 per hour. I am pretty happy with that. I focused on the Smurf series, the Metal Mania series (a set of puzzles that I very much enjoyed), and the Glossary of Geocaching series, with a few other sets and individuals in between. It was a fantastic day, very much helped by the wonderful weather and the use of a car that had no problem on gravel roads ('cos it was a rental).

A huge thanks to all the CO's that place and maintain these Geocaches. Despite the rushed day I created for myself, I did enjoy each and every cache I found. It is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Just discovered that we have the required logs to spell November. So we changed the log in a found it.

This was an extremely satisfying find! My happy yelp echoed around the area when I felt the elusive container.

Luckily I got my hands on it pretty quickly as the chest high grasses and hot midday sun are really triggering for my autoimmune condition.
Geocaching is just too tempting- even though I suffer the consequences I just can't help myself

I worked on this puzzle on and off for ages- even figuring out the title.
A lot of frustration ensued, because little did I know I had basically had this solved the entire time- some confusion with the name of one of the "bigger" numbers kept throwing me off.
Once I figured that out it put me in an obvious location that fit the activity log descriptions, so just had to fiddle slightly with a lesser number and TA-DA!

I started Geocaching in May this year and soon after discovered this awesome series of challenges!
I have really enjoyed the extra excitement of focusing on finding caches of different sorts and starting with each letter of the month.

Came out today with my caching bud Snugpup and our new GCing friend Angelic Kiwi.
Today I qualify for June-November and already have some towards December.
I look forward to coming back next year to sign the others when I have completed January to May.

Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip.Of course there were many other puzzles solved as well. We certainly made a great dent in my solved puzzle list but I'll still have enough for another trip. This was our big day where we planned to get as many as possible. Sadly we fell just short of our diamond badge as we lost track of our exact find numbers. I still haven't worked the statistics for my finds this trip. I really enjoyed my day and want to thank all the CO's who contributed by placing caches out this way. My qualifying caches were posted in Jan 2021. I'm surprised I remember getting the Viewpoint multi for this challenge way back in 2015. I liked Gorbys Manaiacal madness event too as it was one of his milestones and I got to make friends with the West Auckland group of cachers. I think it was great fun getting the different types for these challenges. Another quick, easy find with a cool logbook at gz. Thanks again for this fun little cache series

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei on Wednesday avo. Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list.

Today looked like being the best weather for our trip, despite a heavy thunderstorm overnight. We had a Big Day Out planned, with a perhaps optimistic target of finding 300 caches in one day. Working together well as a team, with a driver, a navigator and a jumper, we made good progress, but in the end, the bigger distances between caches, that we hadn't anticipated, meant we ended the day a bit short.

A fun day though certainly, and sincere thanks to the GeoArt & Trail CO's, and others, for placing and then maintaining such large numbers of caches so well. A testament to your dedication to Geocaching was the very low number of DNF's during the day. Apologies for the mostly generic logs, but be assured your efforts were truly appreciated.

Hi there gracie7 + Mum. We found some time for a visitto the quarry park here today after quite a late start. We're now in our 3rd week of 5 in this visit and absolutely loving the quality of NZ caches. We found this cache at around 2:28:00 PM - TN, LN, SL. Thanks to gracie7 + Mum for this cache - our find 9760 and the 10th of 19 finds for the day.

FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition.

Mum had a Lion meeting in ChCh so stopped on the way over to check on this.
The log was wet so she added a the new one she had brought prepared along with a new container.
So its just like brand new again. Happy Caching

On a mission today to pick up 200 caches with NZ Bozzy. This is number 143 and cache number 5143 for me. Enjoyed solving all the puzzles and picking up most of the Eclipse Series today. It has been well maintained over the years which made our job easy today. Thanks gracie7 + Mum. Sorry for all the copy and pastes. This one was a good one to find for little cacher, however, it needs maintenance. A previous finder didn't place the logbook in the zipbag, both the bag and logbook were wet. It was hard to write our name, as all the pages were stuck together.

Mum had Lion meetings all day Saturday in Hanmer Springs then we spent Sunday around Rangiora doing maintenance checks and abit of caching. Because today is Westland Anniversary day we headed home via ChCh to do some lab adventures first and then some maintenance on the way out of town. We planned on stopping and checking on all of our Spelling Challenges. Everything was all good here. We even found a Geocoin - our first find in awhile. Happy Caching Coincidentally today was also the 6th anniversary of placing this cache!

I’m in Christchurch for another visit for 4 days. This is my 3rd day. On my own this time, hoping to pick up many puzzles today. I have hired a nice little car, very economical and quite sporty too. It was very clean when I picked it up yesterday but with all the back roads it will get very dirty! Thank you for the challenge cache.

Team BOP on another crazy mission to the South Island. Lockdown gave us a lot of free time that we directed into Canterbury's many Geo-Arts and with the Auckland 2020 Mega postponement, Christchurch was an easy decision. Team BOPs current incarnation is DavidsonClan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed all the logs as Team BOP to save time and log space.

So it's Labour Weekend 2020, it’s a numbers mission and these Spelling Challenges would be our final few stops before we head back into Christchurch. I'm logging retrospectively because at the time we had yet to check on which caches we'd qualified for - happily though Project GC confirms I qualify so I can now tick it off.

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...

There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some before-hand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!

1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...

Finding the boxes was not the big problem, checking if I fullfill the challenge was a little bit more work. First I thought it will be really hard, because there is no challenge checker, but project-gc could solve the problem... And I am able to log all of them

Even when you are filling up your phatalog with photos from a caching run, there are still some opportunities that can’t be ignored. These are the photos where you have to put aside all plans of quick park and grabs and pose like a pansy.

Found today with Injeanious (some logs signed as Team JeJe). We were out today getting some caches for the Mystery at the Museum. It was a great day for a drive out this way and we had some great views of the snow covered alps in places. TFTC!

Found at 12:38 pm while on a week's break in Christchurch. Will expand log when we get back home (as well as answers to questions, qualifying caches, photos, etc.).

I still needed a 'V' to finish this one off and there wasn't any options around where I was, until I remembered that I can log my own event caches, so hosted my first event to finish qualifying for this. My wife told me I was being watched while I was fossicking around in the hedge. TFTC
