I'm sure we have driven past this cache several times in the nearly 9 years it has been in existence. Not sure why we haven't stopped before, maybe traffic has been a problem?
Anyway, good to stop and sign the log book today. The container was a bit cobwebby but luckily no spiders were spotted.
As we drove away, I saw the reasoning behind the cache name Smile. TFTC.

#10,073. Day 3 of the extended Labour Weekend road trip. Had expected to be in Auckland for the Mega Event but after it got postponed due to COVID, Infoferret and I decided a second road trip to the South Island would be a good plan C. [Plan B had been doing the geotour caches in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty but COVID put paid to that idea as well]. Well the geocaching gods must have decided we had suffered enough and delivered a week of excellent warm sunny weather for the trip south with just a couple of short patches of light rain thrown in to remind us it was still spring.

Heading back to Greymouth after our big walk in the hills earlier today. Poor IF was braindead by this stage of the day and I kept forcing park and grab caches onto her. She needed some fresh air so I encouraged her to go for a walk to GZ. The autopilot kicked in and soon she had cache in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced where found. Thanks Ariestiger for the cache.

An epic day trip with K C N; we decided to do the round trip so are heading back to Chch via the Lewis (eventually).
I had a few target caches on my phone and K C N has the whole S Island on her Montana (wow!) - which was great for these extras.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, Ariestiger.

Kotuku-SI was my driver today so I guess it was only right that I did the search and find - wasn't mulling it around at all. Even ambled to the gz as not much traffic about today. Suppose it was too hot and sunny for everyone.

Nice easy find as I get closer to my destination, Greymouth. Replaced as found, T F T C Ariestiger

Easter weekend 2018 is here and I have a cunning plan. Well, a caching plan, but what's the difference? With mrs and daughter working over the weekend and me with a few days off work there was a chance to convert some of my solved puzzles over on the West Coast into smiley faces. And add to my West Coast caching total. And do the Point Elizabeth walk, and several other appealing strolls. And some other stuff and all the way along gaining extra points for the planetary Challenge thingy to gain some electronic 2D Geo-souvenirs. And so, setting off around 0730 on Easter Sunday with the trusty mountain bike aboard (for the Greymouth beach-side track) I clocked up just under 1000 kms by road, a few extra on 2 wheels and several more on 2 feet, quite the trip. The threatened rain only arrived on the second afternoon in Hokitika (by which time I'd done my walks for the day) and the drive back from Greymouth via Westport was in blazing Autumn sunshine - Beautiful. Fantastic scenery all around and a large number of caches from b&w and gracie7&mum helped the total to just over 180 finds.
An awesome few days which my family wouldn't have enjoyed, but conversely actually would have, for the most part. An FTF in Reefton on the way through on Day 1 was another bonus, and monkey off the back for the monthly streak. A few DNFs which is to be expected with that many looked for, but a lot of good sights and experiences too. Thanks to all the COs for their placements.

After completing the card series, we made our way following a caching trail into town.
I wanted to do the Flintstones since I had done all the puzzles before leaving Australia.
We found Greymouth a great town to drivw around, a good selection of hides & containers found.

The Seagnoid, Zara Toby and I are off for an expedition to the West Coast for a long weekend. Camped out at Reefton Friday night, with an early start Saturday.
No time to mull around here so its a quick snag and tag. Lots to do and places to visit today so we are on the road again. Cheers

Taybeedragon and decided to have a three day holiday on the West Coast. There are some awesome walks there! Left on Friday night and made it as far as Reefton. This morning we left early, busy day today!
Quick easy find, and the dragon replaced the log back which was in a sad state. And then we took off! No mulling around, lots to do today (well, only one thing actually, but it's going to take all day. Can you guess what it is?)

Thanks.

It was nearly dark and I said to gk that I just wanted the one cache so we parked the campervan down the road a bit and as we were walking back to the campervan a man stopped to check if we were ok. Love the friendly coast not many places left where that would happen. Especially not to campervaners tftc

I was fortunate enough to be able to squeeze an 11 day holiday out of two leave days!! I headed out west to find some caches, see some sights, and relax before the madness of the semester hits. The weather was unbelievably good, only a bit of a storm over Arthur's Pass on the first day, otherwise hot and sunny. I found a great variety of caches, drive by's, walks, hikes, even a power trail. Thank you to all the CO's for their great hides!!!
Today was to be a big day, and it started early, too. I was out on the road with the break of dawn, aiming to get a few, and a couple more The main plan was to attack the cards, but I managed to get in a good variety today! TFTC!!

It's the final day of NZDi's and my Blenheim - Christchurch - Greymouth - Blenheim triangular caching trip. The plan for the day was to pick up souvenir pack of cards from the coast, by the Wet Coast weather is living up to its name and if it keeps up like this I think we will be heading straight home. The weather report for the Nelson region looks a bit better with no rain, so I have loaded some caches along that route into my mobile just incase we decide to go that way home. Our logs were annotated Kiwimykl and NZDi, KM & ND or variations there of.

A QEF PnG on the road-trip between Greymouth and Blenheim.

Drove over from Christchurch yesterday, staying in Greymouth for a couple of nights. Today I got up to Ikamatua along the state highway, then the return trip via the back roads on the other side of the river, caching all the way. After finding most of the BtG series yesterday I was well prepared for this cache! TFTC (2128)

2TF with Hazedarus on an evening drive after a day of over-indulgence. Two new caches published near to where we were (sort of) was just the excuse we needed. Thank you Ariestiger and Merry Xmas to all.

25-Dec-14
By the time we extracted ourselves from the over indulgence of food and drink the FTF had been claimed. We expected nothing less Wink We still managed seven finds including a FTF on the first day of our annual Xmas pilgrimage to the Coast. Thank you Ariestiger for placing this cache.

[purple] FTF around 1:45pm [/purple] [blue] 2nd day of our 10day streak needed for the MGSc Challenge http://coord.info/GC2J6AY [/blue] Smile
An FTF for Xmas, what an awesome present. We already had a close cache nearby lined up but when these 2 new ones were published this morning we both agreed to head out after lunch. Old cacher Ribsc and my brother 'dubbed' Raymondo from another cacher we met in Auckland came with us for the drive. A nice quick PnG and we will leave the other one for another day. Thanks for the awesome Xmas pressie. Smile [purple]Our cache find: #3158[/purple]
