Logs
This was a tricky one at first but after looking through previous logs, I agree this one rocks. After attending the nearby CITO at the Coburg Lake I decided to grab a few local caches I hadnt claimed. Nice hot and windy day. Quick and easy find. TFTC
After attending a nearby CITO this morning, Tiz13, BlackOpal2005, micaparamedic and I wandered off to find some nearby caches... a very enjoyable stroll in the sun, plenty of chatting and laughing as we went... and lots of eyes to make the hunt a bit easier... definitely needed for this clever little hide! Thanks **80degrees** for this cache .
Following the nearby Cito a group of us went for a stroll to find a few caches including this one. This cache had us all confused for a bit...my Geo instincts told me to persist so we did and eventually found the sneaky hide.
Following the nearby CITO, a group including Tiz13, BlackOpal2005, Long John Silva and myself headed along the creek trail to find a few caches, this was but one of them. A sneaky hide which took a little searching to find. Thanks 80degrees for placing this traditional cache, enhancing the game board and adding to our enjoyment.
DNF no lucky for me first 15min was failed so I continued walking to third cache then Im back to hope find it but still no luck. Plus my dog is enough to keep search this area hope next time I will find it
Initially missed the cache when I checked the Gz but then it revealed itself to me. Tftc
I seem to be making a habit of visiting the northern suburbs when needing some exercise in the form of a walk. This time it was Coburg as I started at Edwardes Lake Park and walked down to Coburg Lake Reserve. I was joined for part of it by nirgalagrin who got in some desired physical activity, performed some cache maintenance and found one of the handful of caches he hasn't found in his 5km zone.My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Many thanks to the the COs for putting out the caches found during this walk. ---A case of not examining items carefully enough meant that it was nirgalagrin who pointed out the cache after I had wandered away from the hide and began examining other features of the landscape. Lesson learnt.
Clever little hide here! I had been looking for a while and was about to give up and then I discovered it! TFTC and the challenge on a beautiful summer day!
This one took me a long time to find! I thought I had looked everywhere but apparently not quite! I was just about to give up and then I discovered this cheeky hide! Thanks for the cache and the challenge
Checked this one today. It is exactly where we left it although the area had been disturbed. Accurate coords meant we walked straight up to it with our iPhones. All good
Oh, nice hide. Found on my second guess. Was dark by 5:30pm on a cloudy cold night on shortest day of the year. Glad the light on my phone was bright enough. Nice location. Google’s satellite imagery is older than Apple’s so took the wrong route to GZ until a quick switch with the new-ish bridge.
We were already parked near "A Bridge to Nowhere" so we decided to walk down to this one too. I eventually persevered at the first spot I had checked a few minutes beforehand but this time more thoroughly and with a better result. Our 4th 80degrees cache find today taking us to 41 80degrees finds all up and there are now only 7 more unfound to go at current availability to complete the set. Thanks from D & HA B-A
A devilish hide but I found it! Thank you 80degrees for placing and maintaining George's Bank for us to find today.

The GeoRanger MkII was getting a free modifications so it was a local cache this time around.
A cleverly hidden cache that I just happened to locate by accident during my search.
Thanks 80degrees for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Following on from my log on "A Bridge to Nowhere", my now-long-archived "Home of the Micro" cache was about 25 metres from here (but up higher). I have to say that I was impressed by the work of George and the Friends of Edgar's Creek; this was my first visit to the area in over 11 years and the creek area is really pretty and made for an enjoyable stroll. The glorious day helped of course, but, seriously, a lot of work has gone into improving this area and I salute George and his compatriots. I also salute 80degrees. I had my suspicions. I acted on my suspicions. I nearly walked away empty handed. My suspicions were, of course, well-founded ... but the autumn sun and the out of season spring perfumes must have gotten to me. Nevertheless, a satisfying success was mine ... eventually.
I must have looked around for a good 10 minutes searching for this one. It wasn't too I looked back and noticed the cache out in the open that my initial assumption was correct. A devilish hide.
May or may not have fallen off my bike riding down George's Bank on the way to this cache...

This one took me longer than anticipated. Coffee cup in hand, I ventured into the scrub to find some pretty inconspicuous looking garden features. I turned over everything and saw nothing. Not what I expected at all. About to throw in the towel as it was raining, I decided to have a second look. Sometimes the hides are not so obvious. TFTC
Puzzled us at first but we trusted the GPS and geo kid Ramis instincts honed in on the final prize. Very clever cache. Thanks for bringing us here.
A nice story in remembrance of Mr 80's dad.
After having found several of your caches I was onto this one relatively quickly. Nice hide with an apt name.
Thanks for the fun and the walk here to the happily growing plants here, 80degrees

After attending the Weeding on a Wednesday CITO at Coburg Lake Rocky Outcrop we set a course for home, naturally following a route which included a variety of caches including this one. A sneaky hide to acknowledge community participation.
Thanks to 80degrees for adding this cache to the gameboard.

Such a creative hide! We nearly gave up on it before deciding to have one last look over the first place we checked... just incase... and voila! TFTC
Had Geokid unhappy after looking for some time. Will return and attempt again.
I'm not too sure why these caches don't get much more attention.
A delightful trail for a wind down walk after work.
With no discernible geotrail to ground zero, I carefully picked my way through the newly planted area, taking great care not to disturb anything.
The hide was spotted quickly but then I have found a few of your caches before.
All in good order here, even the ants were cooperative.
Did you know: "Georges Bank (formerly known as St. Georges Bank) is a large elevated area of the sea floor between Cape Cod, Massachusetts (United States), and Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia (Canada)? It separates the Gulf of Maine from the Atlantic Ocean.
The origin of its name is obscure. The 1610 Velasco map, prepared for King James I of England, used the name "S. Georges Banck", a common practice when the name of the English patron saint, St. George, was sprinkled around the English-colonized world. By the 1850s, it was known simply as Georges Bank."
Thank you for the exercise of mind and body here today 80degrees.

Now we are allowed to go out for any reason Geocaching is now allowed so enabling our caches
Due to the covid lockdown in Melbourne we are disabling all affected caches. If anyone logs a find during this period logs will be deleted
This one was a Goldilocks find - not too easy, but not too hard either. I could then perch on the nearby rocks to sign, and admire the new bridge under construction. Thanks 80degrees.
Had about 5mins to look but couldn’t get it in that time. Tough to do when time poor but I’d like to eventually get it.
With restrictions lifted enough to now allow geocaching am enabling all our caches
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. We are being asked to stay at home. Geocaching is a game and we are dealing with a serious health issue so please stay at home.
We are being responsible and disabling all our caches until this crisis passes.

Day abandoned - feeling quite sick from all wasp bites when I put my hand on what could have looked like a ‘cache’ One to remember! Guess I’ll be back when next in Melbs
A lovely area around the creek, well worth naming in honour of George.
A devious hide that did not take very long as the co-ords were very accurate. A favourite point, thanks 80degrees

Nice to have the water flowing on this warm spring day. After a few circles I saw something that looked likely and did reveal the hide. TFT walk
Well this one took me for ever with my GPS jumping all over the place and a few muggles walking past and about 1000 different potential hiding spots.
I persevered and came up with the prize!. Fantastic hide. I needed a bit of a challenge. Tftc

I feel I am very fortunate to have found this one! Somehow the geosenses kicked in - but I am not surprised by the large number of DNFs. TFTC! Tis a good one!
Didn't have any luck with this one despite a fair bit of prodding around. I'll be back though!
Had a poke around but couldn't see anything and was worried about treading on vegetation...

On the way home from work doin' a little cachin' on the way and enjoying the sunshine as I go
Luckily I've seen what Mr 80degrees can do with a container so this one was a relatively quick find but a nice hide none the less.
**Thanks for placing this cache 80degrees**

So it's Sunday morning and the sun is shining so a perfect day to go out and find a few caches.
Well this one proved an issue from the start as the crossing here on the map is under 2 foot of water so had to walk around, after a good while searching I finally found this cache, more by pure luck than anything else as i had already search that place.
I think the difficulty could be a little higher compared to other caches found.
Anyway thanks for the hide which is a great hide in this case.
Loved this one
Thanks

We were out on the bikes checking out the route we planned to take to get to the Parkville Mega and of course couldn't go past a cache or two if they happened to be along the route.... though admittedly this wasn't exactly on the route. TFTC 80degrees, a great reason for placing it.
I was hoping to make it two for two today but this one wasn’t going to give it’s self up today. GPS was quite jumpy but I was pretty sure I could see where it would be but nothing. Might have to go back with the GeoKids soon.
I first tried to find this on my very first trip caching on my own, over a year ago. I got so lost. Came back a couple of days ago and missed it. Saw someone else had found it so I decided to revisit. Fortunately I had success this time. I can't believe I missed it.
I thought I would find this quickly. I had a very good search. The GPS kept taking me to the same spot, but I could not find the cache. I know where I would hide it though. I will watch this one.
Today was my monthly outing with Biggles Bear, as well as the 2017 Caching Awards event, so we did some before the event, and then more after the event.Nice quick find, and first to log in the new log sheet.
Thanks for the cache, 80degrees.

My junior geocacher found this one surprisingly quickly. After our failure to find the bridge one, this gave us the boost we needed. TFTC.
**Find #1276**
A nice little walk which had me rock hopping across the creek. The foot bridge to the south is no longer there. A nice sneaky hide and a quick find with accurate co-ords.
Thanks **80degrees**

After checking out my old work site I noticed another cache
They have done a lot of work along this creek in rehabilitating the flora which will bring back the fauna
It is a lot different from when I worked here
There was a guy using a bow and arrow near GZ so I kept away from him
Looked in a few spots then soon had the cache in hand
Thanks 80degrees TFTC

So much mud. My Perth sneakers just aren't cutting it in this Melbourne drizzle. Thanks for the quick find.
Well hidden. Still there despite the recent tree planting by the Friends of Edgar Creek.
Sauntering down from the bridge to this copse (in progress) was
A much more sedate affair, and I was rather glad, after a bit of a hairy day. The cache here was swiftly found and I sat and enjoyed listening to the creek, which was doing its upmost to babble like a brook, not far away. A very serene little spot. I wanted to come back with the kids to explore further, and probably will, now I know how to get here.

Here in the company of GJMMelb and quiet1_au. G found this cache quickly. My map was showing a bridge here - has this disappeared? TFTC
This was the part of the park I remember from my visit several years back, although the bridge appears to have gone? (or maybe it was a ford back then too??) so going around the fence we crossed over at one of the places where rocks formed (slightly wobbly) stepping stones before heading back towards GZ. After a short search G' of GJMMelb found this one in a similar hide to another he found today, whilst lochb and I were searching around the tree(s). TFTC
This was a relatively quick find once at Gz. Found towards the end of a fine afternoon caching in this area. Thanks 80degrees

A much more sedate find after scaling the slippery slopes a bit further up the track. I'm not sure if this is currently hidden as intended as it didn't seem to match what some of the previous logs were saying but it did mean a quick find. Thanks for the cache 80degrees.
