Cache would appear to have been abandoned - taking the next step and de-listing - sorry.

If the CO can't do me the courtesy of responding to my enquiry, then I have no choice but to assume there is no longer any interest by the CO in this placement and they have abandoned the cache.

If there are components or remnants of the cache and you haven't already done so, please return to the GZ and collect the cache (or remnants). We don't want to litter our environment with Georubbish.

04-Oct-17
Spent ages there with my son would be keen to know if it is still there

04-Oct-17
Sorry to say, as I said in the comments section, we had to disable this cache because of significant storm damage that meant we couldn't replace it. The park is now undergoing significant renovation (trees cut down) to allow for a new bike lane, so we're waiting until that's done to replace it (no timeline from Council sorry!). Sorry to the couple of people who missed our note and looked for it! Will hopefully be back in the near future...

15-Sep-17
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

15-Sep-17
I love caches near stations - this is potentially a perfect location. Unfortunately, I had no luck today. Judging by the photos it even seems as if the tree itself is no longer there - and there is a bit of a hollow in the ground nearby. Can the CO confirm?

10-Aug-17
Has it been replaced yet?

30-Jul-17
Is this coming back soon?

12-Feb-17
Recent tree removals. Looked for ages. Couldn't find it

12-Feb-17
Sorry to say that the hiding place was damaged in a big storm and we've had to remove the container temporarily. Will be back there soon to re-hide. Sorry to the couple of people who tried to find it in the meantime! Back soon!

07-Jan-17
Couldn't find the cache remnants as described in previous logs. Either way, it would seem this cache needs some attention.

Today I had the privilege of being chauffeured around by my muggle son. He absolutely had a ball. Big Grin
We found the remnants as described by previous log. The log is full, but I found a tiny blank spot to sign. Put back right where we found it. Smile

04-Jan-17
Found this cache in several parts on the ground. We placed under a nearby tree. CO may need to visit to fix the cache and hiding place. Cheers! Smile

01-Jan-17
Nice container Smile TFTC!

31-Dec-16
Found it! Last cache find for the year! We enjoyed a late breakfast at the nearby cafe after gathering some bushwalking supplies and then wandered around to GZ. The cache was found in parts on the ground. It looks like its hiding place has collapsed in the recent storms. We placed it at the base of a nearby tree.

CO may need to attend to this cache for repair and re-hide. TFTC SL Smile

Tftc. Found with the lovely lightmetre.

04-Sep-16
I was surprised to find a well-hidden cache in what is at time a busy place. After wandering around and attracting unwanted attention I retreated to a seat to consult the hint. All then made sense and I quickly found what I was after. Tftc.

21-Aug-16
Found it on a wark through Blackburn.
Very well hidden.

Today I had a very narrow window between finishing work and picking kids up, before rushing to be with family in hospital. A heavy shower was imminent - so i sourced a cache nearby and raced over. The rain hit just as i parked the car so i reluctantly grabbed the seldom used umbrella I always keep in my bag. I strolled over to GZ and had a poke around. After a short while I found the clever cache. I moved a little way from the hide as I attempted to sign discretely in the rain. While trying to balance the log, a pen, the umbrella and pretend that I'm on the phone, i hadn't noticed that school kids were now pouring down the path, right on GZ!

Picture this...

A grown man...
on his own...
near a playground...
In the rain...
With an umbrella...
Watching the school kids go by...
(Looking for a gap really, but yeah, whatever)

Not my best look, lol.

And it was going to be like that for another 40min! Time I didn't have. So I left...

WITH THE CACHE!!

It was either that or ruin the game piece.

It took another 5 hours before i could return - this time with the kids. Somehow taking my three young children to a playground near a deserted train station at night seemed much more reasonable than going alone, lol!

We all had fun on the return leg. After replacing the cache, we enjoyed playing on the wet playground and running up and down the steps at the station.
I wish i had their energy!

Thank you so much, arajay1, for a rather convoluted adventure. A quick grab became rather memorable. Great work with the hide. We all thought it was nicely crafted. Well played!

With WWFMXIII event #2 getting us out and about at ridiculous o'clock, I may as well take advantage of the deserted streets and nab a few more caches...

When I walked around the corner earlier this morning to attempt this cache, a fellow was using the nearby play equipment as a gym, so I turned about and went to the next target. This time, however, the coast was clear.

A clever hide indeed, arajay1.

Found with geonephew! Nice one! TFTC

18-Apr-16
To be honest, I nearly kept walking when I realised it was another micro next to a playground, but the area was soon deserted so I relaxed a little. Didn't see the well camouflaged cache immediately but there was a happy ending. Also interesting to see Laburnum station from this angle for the first time. Thanks arajay1!

09-Apr-16
Very clever. I like these type of clever caches. Tftc Smile

09-Apr-16
We found it. Kids loved it!

02-Apr-16
I was meeting friends this morning off the train, intending to cycle into the city via Gardiners Creek. Not quite enough time to find the cache before they wanted to start riding, but when I arrived back this afternoon, I was able to have a good look. Nicely hidden. First time I have seen a container quite like this. Not something you would find by accident! I went home happy!

29-Feb-16
Leaped into this one. A quite morning both in the park and around the station. Sunny so took some time to sit and enjoy it until the peace was shattered by noisy students heading for the train so now had to sit a little longer which wasn't hard to do. Once they had passed set about finding this one. Great first hide good job. enjoyed the little hunt, Happy Leap year ....TFTC

28-Feb-16
Spiffy- and I are approaching our 4000 and 3000 milestones and after a little persuasion he agreed it would be good to find them at the same cache on the same day - Leap Day. So today I needed 18 caches to get to the same number as him ready for the final assault on the milestone together on Leap Day. After a short wait for muggles to pass I made the quick find. It was nicely hidden. Thanks arajay1 for the cache.

23-Feb-16
After dropping my son at Box Hill I had some spare time before I needed to be at work. I enjoyed searching for this cache although my GPS was wandering around the park. I had to read the previous logs to narrow my search, just before some school children invaded the park. TFTC.

20-Feb-16
Out on a 'ride n cache', I came upon this one with no one about, thankfully. Looked in one place, then moved away...then returned and found something just a little out of place. Moved away to sign and then returned as found.

A cleverly constructed cache and well hidden. Thanks arajay1.

14-Feb-16
arrived at GZ and looked around for a while, I had a good idea what we were looking for and finally spotted it nice cache best find for the day and the last.

09-Feb-16
Walked from work in Box Hill to Laburnum station to find this catch. Unfortunately ran out of time yesterday to find this one (had to catch my train), but found it today. Nice hide - tftc.

TFTC Arajay1. Took a while of wandering around the area to come across an abnormaly and the cacher. An enjoyable hunt and a favourite .

03-Feb-16
A sneaky little hide that kept Geoyurtle37 and muggle friend busy for a few minutes before spotting the hide. Fortunately being a weekday in school hours there were no muggles to be seen. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

27-Jan-16
Found with Listmaker on a nice morning for caching. We had decided on one more cache and this was it. After deciding where to park we went for a little walk and then had to decide which side to be on. I did the duck under and soon saw a suspcious item which proved to be a clever cache hide, thanks arajay1.

27-Jan-16
Alansee and I caught up for a coffee and cache this morning and this was the last, and definitely best, find of the day. Great work, arajay1! Thanks for the cache.

24-Jan-16
Suscoe was up very early today to make the most of our final hours in Melbourne.
We had quite a few places to visit and so we were keen as mustard to get going.
Again this morning the drizzle had set in but it was short lived and soon the sun started to pop through some scattered clouds.
The roads were pretty quiet today which we were pleased with.

A nice walk and find here with no one about.
Another place that we don't remember visiting before.

Thanks to arajay1 for placing this cache here, a nice bit of camo work.

24-Jan-16
I think we totally fluked finding this one Smile I was so impressed when I found it. What a great idea for a cache container. Very clever... and to think people walk past here every day and don't know it's there. Smile My daughter and I loved it very much and took a photo to show my husband when we got home. Thanks so much for the fun.

Clever camo on this one. Found once we dodged the train muggles arriving and departing.

The cache had been dislodged. Luckily my son was with us as he has found it before and we were able to find and replace it.

On the way to an appointment this morning so stop along the way to pickup some caches. This was a fun hunt which wasn't easily spotted with a few loops taken to finally have it.
Great stuff. CoolBig Grin

What a great first cache! Not just your standard sistema container under a rock. Some thought and design has gone into this, so here's a FAV point coming your way. Well done and we hope to see more of your caches. TFTC

19/09/2015 Found @ 8:40 am, Find # 4651.

I had a bit of time to fill in while waiting for a car to be serviced, so I was on my bike and off in search of some caches, this was one of them.
I made my way to GZ and had a bit of a look around and noticed sometime that sort of looked in place but not quite right, on closer inspection, I had found the cache.
Nicely done.

Thanks to arajay1 for placing this cache.

Forgot to log, found with georocks101. TFTC!

15-Aug-15
It has been mugged

09-Aug-15
I think it has been muggled, it has come apart, I couldn't find the lid. The logbook was still on the ground but it's got wet now, and yeah the cache is just on the ground. I've left it at the bottom of the tree.

08-Aug-15
Found it - in pieces! I will post a NM log.

08-Aug-15
Found it but unfortunately been destroyed

25-Jul-15
Such a cool hide. Well done.

24-Jul-15
Nice hide. Just completing one week of geocaching and getting a feel for different types of 'hides' and 'containers' but this one was very clever and had us walking in circles for a while!! thank you.

Took about 15mins to find in between train muggles. Nice hide

19-Jun-15
Found by Team Ninja 19/6/15, find number 620.
After an early morning trip to Lilydale to meet a friend I had some time to kill before work, so I decided to find a few caches on the way home. There were no muggles around today resulting in an easy search. After a few minutes I spotted something a little suspicious and had the well constructed cache in hand. TFTC!

19-Jun-15
Ha! Brilliant hiding spot. Really enjoyed this one. Nice and quiet at this time of the day (Friday afternoon). Decided it had been a while since last caching, and the road trip 15 had stayed, so hard out to find a few. TFTC

Out on this Tuesday night with poptopPete doing a few drive-by caches. Looking and hoping for double figures tonight. Tftc

16-Jun-15
Out with Gunks for some cheeky mid week caching.
5 caches to go and it'll be a record month and we're only half way through.
Good night tonight could take me over the 50 in a month mark.

Nice easy find in a pleasant location. Many thanks.

08-Jun-15
Managed a quick find on this quiet Queens birthday afternoon out and about grabbing a few caches with the kids. A nice hide that is so simple but very cunning, my youngest son was most impressed as he has never seen one like this before. Thanks arajay1 for the cache. Nice work.

07-Jun-15
Cool hide never seen one of them before tftc

02-Jun-15
With this cache being close to home, having been attempted in the past, checked with a friend, and the location confirmed, I'd popped it aside for an easy convenient find on an empty calendar day.

Well, today was that day! So after dropping beta female off at dance classes not too far away I swung by here on my way home for an immediate and easy find, and a cleverly constructed and camouflaged cache. Great job.

TFTC arajay1

01-Jun-15
We were a little early for where we needed to be so did the only thing a Cacher does and that's to go and find a cache. We parked close and headed over. The busy muggle time had gone so once the GPSr settled we could have a good look. The interesting bit of camo was soon spotted and the log extracted. We completed the signing duties. TFTC.

I was looking for something just like that the first time but missed it. Thanks arajay1. I'll give you a favourite for tricking me.

18-May-15
I didn't find this one but met someone finding this one, spoke to him and he got me hooked. Thanks for the new addiction! Say hi to the local PSO's.

18-May-15
Needing a cache today to fill a hole in my calendar and this closish to home one fitted the bill. Parked in a nearby side street and started walking to GZ, then turned around and headed back to the car for a pen! Retraced my steps back towards GZ just as a train pulled in, followed by one heading the other way. Thankfully nobody came this way! Anyway, headed a bit bus and started the hunt thankful this park has lots of lighting so I didn't need a torch - and had the cache in hand after a short search. Nicely done camo on this one. Thanks to arajay1 for this one.

14-May-15
Good camo. Not many muggles. Came here after a tooth extraction to cheer myself up

11-May-15
Very cleaver hide, had fun seeking this one out. TFTC

01-May-15
A bit of a valley here which is probably why the phone struggled to get a lock. I was in the right area but used the hint. Spotted it almost right away at that point. I've never used my hindsight as much as when I'm Geocaching. Fun hunt thanks. But I'm surprised no one called the police as I rustled around in the bushes next to the train station.
