We did the night cache in this area years ago when we came down for a big event so it was good to see it in the light of day. Here we are passing through town again on our way to another big event in Dunedin, with a bit of time to spare, it was decided to come and have a look for these caches.Took a bit of hunting, turned out it was easier than I was making it out to be. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Nice find, walking around finding this series, #1 of today TFTC Signed Log
Found the replacement cache - nice little hide. Decided to walk this series of caches today. TFTC
Back today to find the other Reservoir caches. Going past here so thought I'd check being a couple of DNF logs. As a previous finder can confirm it indeed looks like this one is gone
After a good start to the caching day, this was the start of a run where DNFs out-numbered finds. We had a decent search here, but came up empty handed. Oh well, at least we avenged one of our Reservoir Tracks DNFs (number 7), and this one isn't too far from the car park in the event we come back for a third attempt.
The first of four DNFs in Oamaru today. We had failed to find this a few years back, but with the updated hint, we thought we'd avenge the blue face today. Twas not to be. Found a hidey hole pretty much as described in the hint but the cupboard was bare.
Spending a few days in the South around Easter. Found ourselves in Oarmaru, so what better than to go caching. Enjoyed this nice walk through the reservoir reserve. Forgot to collect the code at this one, but no matter, managed to work it out without having to loop back.

Heading to Christchurch and wanted to find one here along the way.
Bit chilly at the Reservoir this morning but cool seeing lots of dewy spider webs along the way.
Arrived at GZ and hmmmm no luck after 10 minutes searching all around and around and around again!!! Onto the next. Hmmmm no luck here either and don't want to spend too long looking as need to get to Timaru for a couple of potential FTF's. Head back in the other direction...past #1 and what do you know - found straight away in the first area I was scratching around in just before.
Gotcha!!!
I should always trust my gut instinct when it comes to geocaching but more so in life
TFTC and in Arnie's words "I'll be back" for the others when I have more time

So pleased there was a hint for all of these caches. With the ground being covered in a thick mat of pine needles I am sure there are several I never would have found. My GPS landed me at the actual spot every time.
The mountain bike club from Timaru Girls High were just finishing when I arrived. They were presented with a major decision by their Teacher - what to do for lunch!

Was up in Oamaru to get some caches and called in to pickup coops64 and off we went. Was very damp under foot and got wet feet really quickly. This was an easy find and off to the next one TFTC
Queens birthday weekend - I first tried looking for this cache for my first ever find back a couple of years ago. I had no luck and my sister I was with at the time thought I was insane looking for so long. So today I was armed with one of my best friends. Found pretty fast this time round. TFTC
The first reservoir track cache looked for but sadly no find. It's possible it's rolled down the slope again but despite looking further afield, no luck.
came to replace this as saw it gone while biking the tracks but a bit more of a search found about 5 metres down bank.replaced about a foot from tree..
After playing the hardest round of mini golf with family, Granville and I decided to get our caching fix for the day. Easy number 1.
A Queen's Birthday Sunday biking/caching trip to Oamaru. We wanted to explore these Reservoir tracks, so this was the first stop. The usual, Mrs D was looking at the GPS while Mr D just looked around and pointed out the container. Cache was exposed and a child has added some words. Left properly covered.
The aim this afternoon was to ride the MTB tracks around the reservoir and hopefully get all the details for the bonus. As I was riding the MTB tracks I saw this cache (almost completely unhidden) as I rode past. I backed up 10m and signed the log.
Geofest Oamaru is over but our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara & I) epic adventure continues - Day 4 Danseys Pass signed off. Its early evening and the night cache in Oamaru is on the radar, but still a bit early.
Time to explore this reserve. Snagged this one. As usual the Seagnoid did not read the cache page for gathering the extra numbers. Will snag it on our way out. Cheers

Here to do the night cache, but it is not night yet, so Taybeedragon and I are filling in time walking the reservoir tracks. Darn it, I should have been plotting them, to add them to the maps. Oh well. Forgot to get the code here, but we grabbed it on the way back, and will get the final later.
Decided on a spot of night caching when things went a little stray, so we continued on the trails around this reserve....we bumped into another couple of cachers trying to do the same, but they were a bit ahead of us.....
Came across this one so signed in as SEAC 17 to save log book space.

I was down in Otago for the long weekend to attend the Oamaru Geofest. This morning I teamed up with fellow West Auckland cachers Jag50, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish. We headed around the Reservoir Track to do this series, finding each cache in the series, and noting down the numbers for the bonus cache. It was a nice little series and good walk in the forest with lots of birds singing in the trees. TFTC!
Day 2 of Oamaru geofest time to have some more fun and get more smiles
Walking the night cache and picking up a cache or two on the way

Trying to attempt the night cache in the reserve but got completely lost and ended up walking around the reserve and decided to attempt the outer reserve caches which we had more success with with.
Signed as Team SEAC 17
We did reattempt the night cache and eventually using a bit of thought we had success there to!!

Found with Jag50, Aiden29 & Vistra - in town for the Labour Weekend Geofest.
It was the perfect morning to tackle this series.
It was the perfect morning to tackle this series.
Down in Oamaru for the Geofest, and decided to head out and complete the Reservoir series with Jag50, Vistra and Bertie Blowfish. I ended up walking right past this one, as my GPS was playing up and had me 25m away still.
Took too long to find this just about to give up and there it was. Not sure what we were doing. Not a great start trying to find this series before meeting my family for lunch.
Found eventually after looking in all the wrong places. With NZ Bozzy.
TFTC. Always enjoy a walk and these caches make it very worthwhile.

Having been here in the dark the night before it was great to come back in the daytime. TFTC .
We decided to complete this loop this morning firstly before the forecast rain arrived and secondly to do a walk as a change from all the park and grabs we have nabbed in the last few days. We had only just pulled into the carpark when all the notifications came through for the new caches which had us high tailing out of here as fast as we could. So after a bit of a diversion we are back to start the loop. Interesting to see at least one of the reflectors that we must've seen sparkling last night. TFTC # 11,072
Found with a few friends after doing the night cache nearby, will have to come back and do the rest of the track. TFTC

We walked to within 80m of this cache while we were doing the night Multi so once we found that we returned to make a quick find here.

I overshot the GZ a wee bit. Back tracked when the first place I looked was bare. Cheers.
A few showers off and on today as we head back up home to Christchurch.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

The two oldest kids had a good look around before find the obvious location, all part of the fun. Cheers
We had stayed the night in Oamaru in our campervan. The plan was to complete the Reservoir walk , it was raining heavily. Once in the forest it was quite pleasant.
After staying in oamaru for the night we planned to come get these caches round here. A bit drizzly but that didn't dampen our spirits really enjoyed the walk around here. Would, defunct to mtb next time. Thanks for the cache.
A nice walk on a beautiful morning. Unfortunately we could not find one of them, so therefore the bonus could not be found. But we will be back. TFTC
Went for a walk around the reservoir late this afternoon and managed to make a clean sweep of the caches. Not in the first place I checked but found it shortly afterwards. Signed log, TFTC
Caching is a good excuse for a walk in this area that I didn't know about. There were a lot more biking tracks than I expected. We discovered a pattern in finding the caches but with one dnf we didn't backtrack for another knowing that we will be back another day.
Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip!
Enjoyed the walk around the reservoir and some nice easy finds.

Co-ords out about 7m for us but a look at the obvious soon had us smiling. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104
A much better looking day for a wander than back at home warm and hardly a cloud in the sky.
Found with Debs and Aoraki.
A quick find here then onto the next.

Checking out Oamaru's mountain bike tracks over the long weekend with the family
A bit of a wander on a pleasant Sunday morning, but not too many issues finding this cache.
Must be too early in the morning. It took us ages and we very nearly gave up then suddenly viola. Left soldier.
My GPS wasn't much help in finding this cache. I think the over hanging trees effected it considerably. However I eventually found the cache then decided to flag the rest.
Thank you Hill55 for putting this and all the rest of the caches out along this track
A quick find as we introduced a South African friend over for the CWC to the joys of caching! Cheers.
Up early this morning so decide a walk through this new track would be in order. I had just made the discovery when I was joined by abxt350 who was out early on the hunt.
After a yarn we decided to travel around this series together and as a consequence any finds would be joint.
Great to have the company of another cacher and these caches introduced him to yet another tranquil area he was not aware of and me to this new track.
Thanks
