We did the night cache in this area years ago when we came down for a big event so it was good to see it in the light of day. Here we are passing through town again on our way to another big event in Dunedin, with a bit of time to spare, it was decided to come and have a look for these caches. This was a nice quick easy find as it was sitting out totally exposed, so when I returned it I placed a bit of bark on top. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Nice find, walking around finding this series, #2 of today TFTC Signed Log
Another nice hide! Good track - pleased we decided to walk - no bikers around so far. TFTC
I was last here in 2021 but only found #1 so as part of my turn Oamaru mission today it was time to (hopefully) find the remaining Reservoir caches. What a gorgeous sunny Spring day and my walk around was just lovely. Fresh air, sunshine and caching = the perfect combination.
A few of these were certainly well hidden but perseverance certainly paid off...this one was easy found and what a great spot to sit and rest for awhile TFTC

Spending a few days in the South around Easter. Found ourselves in Oarmaru, so what better than to go caching. Enjoyed this nice walk through the reservoir reserve.

Heading back. Last find. Seen nobody on my long walk until picked up the cache and a muggle appeared from nowhere. "Nice day" he said as I hid the cache behind my back.
So pleased there was a hint for all of these caches. With the ground being covered in a thick mat of pine needles I am sure there are several I never would have found. My GPS landed me at the actual spot every time.
The mountain bike club from Timaru Girls High were just finishing when I arrived. They were presented with a major decision by their Teacher - what to do for lunch!

Was up in Oamaru to get some caches and called in to pickup coops64 and off we went. Was very damp under foot and got wet feet really quickly. This was an easy find and off to the next one TFTC
Queens birthday weekend - I first tried looking for this cache for my first ever find back a couple of years ago. I had no luck and my sister I was with at the time thought I was insane looking for so long. So today I was armed with one of my best friends. Found pretty fast this time round. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our 4 day trip to Oamaru and environs. Today we are planning on finding some caches around the gardens as well as walking the Reservoir tracks.
After doing the night cache here a few years back when we attended the Oamaru geofest, these caches have been on our radar. Good to see what the place looks like in daylight! Despite getting to GZ first, I waited for SW to scale the bank and make the find. TFTC.

#18271. After a DNF at number 1, it was good to have a quick find too. TFTC.
Enjoyed the walk around here. Great unknown track of town. From here, i took the high road, granville took the low road, and he got to the next cache before me...
A Queen's Birthday Sunday biking/caching trip to Oamaru. We wanted to explore these Reservoir tracks, so this was stop #2. Mr D vaulted up, commented that the cache was visible at a glance, tossed it down for signing, then hid it again under the usual leaf litter.
The sequel - after an enjoyable morning (thank you hill55!) we settled down on the grass by the carpark for a picnic lunch overlooking the reservoir. And, this cache GZ was in full view.
A group of three girls was going for a walk - we heard their canned music as they came into sight on the opposite side of the lake - and we watched as they clambered up the bank and took turns posing at the edge with the others taking photos.
Then they headed off into the pines, but the last one stopped, bent down, then called out and the others came back. Oh dear, we thought. Muggled! It was a very odd feeling sitting watching it happen...!
They clustered around and we felt like yelling - you've found a geocache! Sign it and put it back! Eventually one did bend down again - so we trust it's been put back - and then they trailed off into the trees out of sight.
So, hopefully the cache is still okay and where it should be. But it might be as well to check it! Photo attached is a bit of a spoiler, so feel free to delete it if you wish, but it's a record of a muggling in progress - a very interesting lunchtime entertainment!

The aim this afternoon was to ride the MTB tracks around the reservoir and hopefully get all the details for the bonus cache. Reasonably quick find, once I found a way to scale the bank. TFTC
Geofest Oamaru is over but our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara & I) epic adventure continues - Day 4 Danseys Pass signed off. Its early evening and the night cache in Oamaru is on the radar, but still a bit early. Time to explore this reserve.
Quick snag and and tag with views over the water here. Cheers.

Here to do the night cache, but it is not night yet, so Taybeedragon and I are filling in time walking the reservoir tracks. Forgot to get the code here too. We came back a few days later to grab the code here and do the final.
Decided on a spot of night caching when things went a little stray, so we continued on the trails around this reserve....we bumped into another couple of cachers trying to do the same, but they were a bit ahead of us.....
Came across this one so signed in as SEAC 17 to save log book space.

I was down in Otago for the long weekend to attend the Oamaru Geofest. This morning I teamed up with fellow West Auckland cachers Jag50, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish. We headed around the Reservoir Track to do this series, finding each cache in the series, and noting down the numbers for the bonus cache. It was a nice little series and good walk in the forest with lots of birds singing in the trees. TFTC!
Trying to attempt the night cache in the reserve but got completely lost and ended up walking around the reserve and decided to attempt the outer reserve caches which we had more success with with.
Signed as Team SEAC 17
We did reattempt the night cache and eventually using a bit of thought we had success there to!!

Found with Jag50, Aiden29 & Vistra - in town for the Labour Weekend Geofest.
Mr Jag50 shimmied up the bank, and did the honours here, while we all gave directions from below

Down in Oamaru for the Geofest with Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish. Had also teamed up with Vistra on this morning and we set about doing a very nice walk and caching. Our GPS units had us possibly going in two different directions. We decided to use some geo skills instead and let our nose take us in the right direction. MrJag50 soon had his hands on this cache.
Down in Oamaru for the Geofest, and decided to head out and complete the Reservoir series with Jag50, Vistra and Bertie Blowfish. With GPSs pointing in the opposite direction, we followed our geosense and Mr Jag scaled the bank to make the find.
Thanks went past this and had to come back. In a rush as took too long looking for the first one.
With NZ Bozzy.
TFTC. Always enjoy a walk and these caches make it very worthwhile. quick find

Enjoying a bit of a walk in the trees for a change after all the park and grabs in the last few days. I always find the creaking of the trees in the wind a bit disconcerting though. TFTC # 11,073
After not been able to find this back in March it was time for a revisit especially as the co-ordinates had been updated. Approaching GZ I decided to look in on the recent logs and my heart sank when I noticed a string of DNF's. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a quick find. Now time for one that I didn't try to find on my last visit.
No luck today.
CO may need to lokk at the area. Has been opened out a wee bit.
Next time.......

Well bother, the two oldest and I gave it a good 10 minutes hunting around but no luck, so no final number either. Cheers
We had stayed the night in Oamaru in our campervan. The plan was to complete the Reservoir walk , it was raining heavily. We decided to find them in order. I am glad we did.
After staying in oamaru for the night we planned to come get these caches round here. A bit drizzly but that didn't dampen our spirits really enjoyed the walk around here. Would, defunct to mtb next time. Thanks for the cache.

No idea where the last finder has hidden this cache. Cut neither find a cut bush nor a cache at all. Maybe time to check?
Went for a walk around the reservoir late this afternoon and managed to make a clean sweep of the caches. Had to climb the bank and then spotted it moments later lying on the ground - I think the bush it was in has been chopped back rather savagely. Replaced it in a slightly less obvious position but within centimetres of where I found it. Signed log, TFTC
We had a good poke around but couldn't find it. No obvious spots near the corner tree for a micro excepts at the base of surrounding trees. Will be back.
Putting some smiles around oamaru tftc
nice quick find had to climb the bank was on the lower track oops

We spent ages searching for this cache, without success. A more explicit hint would have been appreciated.
GPS was dancing around and therefore so was I ! Glad it was a rainy day and no audience. TFTC
Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip!
Enjoyed the walk around the reservoir and some nice easy finds.

Co-ords about 12m out for us here, but laid a hand on it almost immediately. Found with Woody104 and debsnz
Turned this one into a terrain of 152, but nevertheless, another one day and a step closer to that elusive bonus...cheers!
By this stage the day was starting to heat up as we made our way around. About this stage my unit shut down - the batteries which I had charged last night had gone flat, I had spares back in the ute but this was unnecessary as abxt350 reached into his pocket, talk about well prepared!
Thanks
