We did the night cache in this area years ago when we came down for a big event so it was good to see it in the light of day. Here we are passing through town again on our way to another big event in Dunedin, with a bit of time to spare, it was decided to come and have a look for these caches.Another quick easy find, it was more obvious than the last one. I was enjoying this track, lots of choices, definitely coming back to explore further one day. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Nice find, walking around finding this series, #5 of today TFTC Signed Log
I was last here in 2021 but only found #1 so as part of my turn Oamaru mission today it was time to (hopefully) find the remaining Reservoir caches. What a gorgeous sunny Spring day and my walk around was just lovely. Fresh air, sunshine and caching = the perfect combination.
A few of these were certainly well hidden but perseverance certainly paid off...especially with this one TFTC

Good find. Such fun ones to try and get. The comments help a bit. Can see the the spot from standing by the photo taken
GPS was way off for me so worked off the hint and after not too long cache in hand, thanks for hiding this cache here
Spending a few days in the South around Easter. Found ourselves in Oarmaru, so what better than to go caching. Enjoyed this nice walk through the reservoir reserve.
The GPS struggled to settle here and lots of hint objects, so took a little searching to turn it up.

So pleased there was a hint for all of these caches. With the ground being covered in a thick mat of pine needles I am sure there are several I never would have found. My GPS landed me at the actual spot every time.
The mountain bike club from Timaru Girls High were just finishing when I arrived. They were presented with a major decision by their Teacher - what to do for lunch!

Was up in Oamaru to get some caches and called in to pickup coops64 and off we went. Was very damp under foot and got wet feet really quickly. This was an easy find and off to the next one TFTC
DNF I was getting pretty determined to find this one but old pal decided we called it quits on this one and moved on to the next.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our 4 day trip to Oamaru and environs. Today we are planning on finding some caches around the gardens as well as walking the Reservoir tracks.
This one took a while, my GPSr took me to a large hint object, which didn't harbour the cache. SW found another one just a metre or 2 away - same result. Expanded the search area, and finally SW found the cache in a spot I had just checked . Phew. TFTC.

#18274. Lots of hint objects here, and bad GPS reception, so it took a while to track to the cache down. Pleased to find it in the end. TFTC.
Arrived a little earlier today to attend the motor caravan rally and after getting all set up camp wise it was time to go checkout the closest caches. With the ebike all powered up off I went around the nearby roads.
After reverse-engineering and finding the Reservoir Bonus cache, and noticing that others had found this cache since my DNF back in 2017, I decided to see if I could find it today. But again after searched all the stumps topside of the track, within 20m for no result, I reluctantly rode away.

Enjoyed this walk around here this afternoon. I grabbed quickly as Granvilles iphone caught up. Samsung's are easy better.
Biked right past this one - the GPS didn't beep. So walked back and then had a very long search, until Mr D fossicked around and found it beside one of the hint objects. Left it with a bit more 'obvious camouflage' so it's not totally invisible.
The aim this afternoon was to ride the MTB tracks around the reservoir and hopefully get all the details for the bonus cache. Though the hint seemed clear enough, a search of all stumps ranging out to 20m either side of GZ failed to produce the goods. There goes my chance at the bonus.
Geofest Oamaru is over but our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara & I) epic adventure continues - Day 4 Danseys Pass signed off. Its early evening and the night cache in Oamaru is on the radar, but still a bit early.
Time to explore this reserve. Its getting darker but snagged and tagged without much problem here. Cheers

Here to do the night cache, but it is not night yet, so Taybeedragon and I are filling in time walking the reservoir tracks. We left our torches in the car and that is turning out to be a mistake. I don't need the cellphone torch for walking - yet, but I did need to check some of the places where the cache... well, where the cache wasn't.
Decided on a spot of night caching when things went a little stray, so we continued on the trails around this reserve....we bumped into another couple of cachers trying to do the same, but they were a bit ahead of us.....
Came across this one so signed in as SEAC 17 to save log book space.

I was down in Otago for the long weekend to attend the Oamaru Geofest. This morning I teamed up with fellow West Auckland cachers Jag50, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish. We headed around the Reservoir Track to do this series, finding each cache in the series, and noting down the numbers for the bonus cache. It was a nice little series and good walk in the forest with lots of birds singing in the trees. TFTC!
Day 2 of Oamaru geofest time to have some more fun and get more smiles
Found when out walking the night cache and picking up a few cache along the way with Ruru

Trying to attempt the night cache in the reserve but got completely lost and ended up walking around the reserve and decided to attempt the outer reserve caches which we had more success with with.
Signed as Team SEAC 17
We did reattempt the night cache and eventually using a bit of thought we had success there to!!

Found with Jag50, Aiden29 & Vistra - in town for the Labour Weekend Geofest.
Though it was a beautiful morning, we hardly met anyone along the trail ...just one lone jogger and one cyclist.

Down in Oamaru for the Geofest with Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish. Had also teamed up with Vistra on this morning and we set about doing a very nice walk and caching. After some searching we soon had the cache.
Find right stumpDown in Oamaru for the Geofest, and decided to head out and complete the Reservoir series with Jag50, Vistra and Bertie Blowfish. This took a bit of searching to find the right location.
Thanks managed to find ok just a bit further of the track maybe than others looked.
With NZ Bozzy.
TFTC. Always enjoy a walk and these caches make it very worthwhile.

Really enjoying the walk this morning. Always enjoy a walk when there are caches involved . Thanks !
Looked here, there and over there as well. Was delighted to finally unearth (literally) this cache which interestingly hasn't been signed since Kiwifruits log. Brilliant because it means we have a very good chance for the bonus with the number in hand. TFTC # 11,076
stress release from heritage week ,then forgot clue for bonus cache so had to wander back round to get after collecting 6 .TFTC
Sounds like there is a working party going on, lawn mowers, weed eaters and the like. Cache quickly found, Cheers.
A few showers off and on today as we head back up home to Christchurch.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Mr 2 year old was getting a little left out so led the other kids away and let him find it - what a happy little camper! Cheers
We had stayed the night in Oamaru in our campervan. The plan was to complete the Reservoir walk , it was raining heavily. Number 3 was missing, so no bonus for us.
After staying in oamaru for the night we planned to come get these caches round here. A bit drizzly but that didn't dampen our spirits really enjoyed the walk around here. Would, defunct to mtb next time. Thanks for the cache.
A nice walk on a beautiful morning. Unfortunately we could not find one of them, so therefore the bonus could not be found. But we will be back. TFTC
Went for a walk around the reservoir late this afternoon and managed to make a clean sweep of the caches. Found after a short search, there were many hint objects to inspect and the coordinates were a bit out. Signed log, TFTC
Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip!
Enjoyed the walk around the reservoir and some nice easy finds.

By now we knew to start at about 10m out and a likely hint object was spotted quickly. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104
Spotted a hint object almost immediately but it was on the wrong side of the track, a quick scout around and the real hint object was found. Found with Woody104 and debsnz
Took a little while to find this cache as there were a few hint objects around. Eventually located the correct one. Thanks for the cache.
Easy find. lots of Himalayan Honeysuckle along this part of the track which seemed like the wrong season for it then saw some had been frosted by last weeks front. Also lots of fantails and other birds about. A lovely place for a walk and a lovely day.
As per previous log, so many hint items. However, the ace up our sleeve was Mrs Rex, who quizzically asked "what about that one?" Yes, dear . TFTC.
Another joint FTF as we traveled around this track, even at this time there were bikers using the track.
Thanks
