Last log is 2017 so I'm going to mark this for maintenance just in case. Have been around to this case 3 times in the past and been a DNF every time.
It would appear that Quacker has been removed I dont have a spare currently so I think I will let this spot go for other caches. Thanks to all who visited and I hope you enjoyed it.
On Thursday evening I stupidly decided to volunteer to go out on Sunday afternoon/evening and place some advertising signs for the quilt show next weekend (one of my other interests then, sometime yesterday, I noticed that I only have 10 Canberra suburbs I have not found a cache in... and 3 of them are side by side over here... So - I decided that seeing that where I had to put the signs was sort of part way here - I might come caching over here afterwards... so here I am... a bit later than originally planned, because I stayed up later than planned last night, got up later than planned today, got less done than I planned today, and got away to place the signs a bit later than planned - so it was totally dark by the time drove over this way... which is probably the best way to do a pile of suburban caches
TFT... er... walk... I think this one has either been exposed and found during, or as a result of, the plants getting a shirt haircut... or is buried 6" deep under the bark chips in the one spot i didn't go digging...
It is times like this that Geocaching isn't all it is quacked up to be? (actually it is still fun even when it is a dnf - means I have to come back for another visit... maybe in daylight hours so I can see if it is as nice here when it isn't dark

Went through the rocks first however read the other comments that it’s not near around the rock... tried to search again near the bushes... could not find it... will try next time ...
I dropped in to do this cache, but the gardeners had just been and chopped back all the grass and covered everything in 6” of bark. Being time poor today I decided not to search.
Out for a day of caching with Jusojara
After searching for a while I decided to try to PAF and was getting zero'd in on the location when Ja made the find. Nice container

Finally got some time to cache so DRT and I headed out for a wander in Mulligans Flat. Had a great day and spotted a Bettong and a couple of Quolls.
After our walk we stopped here and searched for a while before resorting to the PAF. As DRT was getting directions I located the well hidden cache - TFTC

A lovely day for caching in Forde. This one took a couple of attempts. After failing (and blaming the phone GPS) I returned with the proper GPS to find the phone was actually spot on. A bit of extra persistence and adopting a more serious searching posture and I found the well-hidden cache. I didn't get the fright some have and found just what I was expecting. TNLNSL TFTC

Suscoe ventured out on Australia Day in Canberra for a terrific day of caching and enjoying all things Canberra.
We covered a bit of territory and found a good number of caches.
The weather was sunny and warm with almost no breeze.
We were surprised that the roads were pretty quiet and so were the parks and reserves.
Such a good range of caches in some nice locations.
Thanks to RapidlyWild for this hide.
A nice hide, we will swap a favourite for this quack.

What a great container. My gps stuck me at 22m away, so had to go by other means (Luckily Aquilus1 has a good phone)! Signed and replaced then got muggled as we stumbled up the rocks back to the car. Nothing was said, so hopefully they don't look for what we did. Tftc!!!
One of the advantages of at night is the torch narrows the field and anything lit is focased better. Wasn't sure what to expect but put the phone away and set about looking. Was a short search. Hesitated and looked better (was cautious of snakes and it looked possible) then realised what I was looking at and cache careful removed. Hidden as found in its good little hiding spot. TFTC.
Tuesday 10 January 2017 - a very warm evening after a hot day in the mid 30s. Found 7 from 8 caches after a car ride to Bonner to put out Tim's bins and water his garden.
GPS took a little while to settle but luckily not amongst the rocks. Quick and easy find.. Thx MuggleSon. TFTC Rapidlywild.

No desire to go searching for a fake rock amongst rocks today.i can often pick them out quickly but with a gps jumping 3m something a little more precise would be needed.
Down from the Shire and out on a local geomission with my sister, specimenX
All up made 26 finds and only 1 DNF due to possibly being muggled. Brilliant weather and good placements made for a great few hours of caching.
Thanks to all the cacheowners

#1952 Out caching with Green-martian and Co. Weather was not at its best as we walked around the suburb. After a short search, GM found the cache suited for todays weathe! TFTC Rapidlywild.
5671 Found by baby&Mrs gopher on a drive around the suburbs of Canberra north at 1200. Left 2 Red Centre Event trackable cards for the Easter get together in Alice Springs next year 2017. It amazes us that there is very limited parking here in this city for the usage of these suburban parks. There is a parking area here but all locked up. Got 2 smileys for this find love the humour here. SL Tnx Rapidlywild.
After over 6 hours of caching/hiking yesterday, we felt like something a little more sedate today - so went for a 5+ hour bike ride/run with The Woofer instead! We collected 31 caches (leaving something behind in almost every single one) and ran/rode just over 24km. We rode through Amaroo, Forde and Gungahlin, around Yerrabi Pond - and on two occasions dipping ourselves IN the pond! Exhausted and completely covered in duck poo, we finished the day with fish and chips by the lake in Yarralumla. And despite being confused for Poke-hunters more than once, it was great day!
We spent a bit of time looking for this one until we realised that Saf had been standing with one foot on either side of it the whole time! A fun hide! Log signed, goodies left, then on to the next one. TFTC!

Generally caching these days for our teams tends to be an impromptu escape providing a change of pace to the working life. Drive, Walk, Ride, Climb and Crawl etc. well you get the drift. This weekend it was a planned outing with an overnight stay in Canberra." Road Trip" On this trip we covered some 1600km fetching 119 caches in route. End result here, happy faces all round with stories to tell . Many thanks to Rapidlywild for the effort and placement of this cache TNLN SL.

Slink1 and I planned this outing with an overnight stay in Canberra to coincide with other activities that needed taking care of. So a road trip it was and we covered about 1600km and collected 119 caches along the way. A good result. Many thanks to Rapidlywild for the cache TNLN TFTC SL.

After a mornings caching expedition to Mt Domain with ZQX, I dropped him home, and then came to Mulligan's Flat to get some more exercise as I'm preparing for a 24hr rogaine next weekend. I walked the Centennial Trail to the North Eastern corned of the wildlife refuge finding the CCT - S2 caches along the way, then returned via the more northern caches I hadn't yet found. Afterwards I picked up a few trads I hadn't yet found. A quick find here. TFTC.

I walked, 131 drove and we made it a favourite find. Pity about the dumped grass clippings from nearby homes.
My aim today was to collect two high difficulty puzzles and a few suburbs for the Canberra Mapping Challenge. Having just collected a Rapidlywild D5 puzzle, it was fitting to collect another Rapidlywild cache. Arrived at GZ and the various clues suggested what to look for. It was soon found in good condition and duly signed. I must admit, seeing the cache really 'quacked' me up. Sorry. TFTC Rapidlywild
Out with Kel Mar on another caching trail today on bikes in a sunny morning a great time to be outside, my second one like this TFTC Rapidlywild
A great day out caching with the Geoson The storms were threatening but we were determined to get some caches done before it broke. This is a nice little trail and a great start for the day Thanks Rapidlywild for the cache. It had us looking for a while but when found it was a great surprise and worth my favourite TNLN SL
Ha ha, we spent ages looking for this one! Quack! Love the camo so gave it a fav point.
A two day trip to Canberra to pick up a few caches and to attend an event.
With a good variety of cache hides, we were kept busy.
Cache was found quickly, and in good condition. Signed the log, and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Rapidlywild, for us and others to find.

I had a feeling I know what this cache was. Stay low so the muggle arose the road heading a quiet one after work didn't see what I was doing.
I had been planning a big day of caching for today. My goal was to get 105 caches for the day, starting with the CCT trail heading towards Mulligans Flat and then joining onto the Jackakid caches before finally finishing off with some more caches in Forde and then making my way to Yerrabi Pond for the last ten or so caches. This plan included around 30 km of walking, something which I was hoping would not be a problem given the amount of breaks I would take to find each cache. I loaded up my bag with food, ~3L of water, GPS, phone, and other essential caching/walking equipment.
I hit the trail at 8:30 am, starting off with CCT - S3 - And so it begins. I set very good pace for the S3 set, finding a cache every 3 minutes or so (which was well ahead of schedule), until I got to CCT - S3 - Twisting where I took a very long time to find the cache (half an hour to be precise). There was one spot that looked incredibly obvious and matched the hint well. PAFs were went out and it wasn't until I started searching more methodically that I soon spotted the container in a spot which I did not expect. With that one knocked off, it was back to the earlier pace. There were only a couple of other tricky ones along the way but I had finished the CCT trail component of today's walk in about 4 hours.
Included in the CCT trail caches were some nice ones by other geocachers. It was nice to find a Spindoctors cache along the way as well as an mtbikeroz one, a Tankengine one (which I didn't have the best timing with) and a few Rapidlywild caches (including Reaching for the Sky which I was really happy to find as I didn't want to do a return trip. It was a bit of a silly idea as it was quite windy when I attempted it but I signed the log and descended to the ground unscathed without requiring a 'Special Tool'). Thanks to Champs2Monkeys for this part of the series, it was an enjoyable walk!
After collecting all the caches on the trail, I headed over to start the Jackakid caches. Overall, I had no trouble finding them which meant I had time for a little side trip to collect a letterbox hybrid, Celestial Storm (I had gotten first to solve on this one, it was a great and cleverly constructed puzzle and I learnt quite a bit) and some of the NPS series caches (which gave me just enough info to confirm where I thought the final would be). After collecting these few, I headed back to the main trail and continued on finding the Jackakid caches and others that were along the way.
After about an hour and a half in Mulligans Flat, I headed out and continued around Bonner following the Jackakid trail. The smell of smoke was in the air and there was a massive dust storm blowing in the distance. I spent a bit too long searching for Ducktasia which really cut into my limited time. It was about half past 3 when I reached JackaKid's Geocache 5 - Dunstan VC and was headed off to the last few caches in Forde before heading for Yerrabi Pond. I found Fore!ign Body without a lid so that may need to be check up on.
I was really tired by the time I reached Damp Fore!head, and called in to my mum to say I was ready to be picked up. I headed off and collected one more (Wings of Excellence) before going to Forde shops to buy a drink, without realizing I had dropped my money along the trail. I ended up with 93 caches for the day, and some massive heat blisters on my heels to remind me of the trip. All up, it took me 8 hours to find the caches. Thanks to all the COs who placed caches that I found today, I apologize for the copy paste logs!

We spent quite a long time 'watching the waterbirds' as we waited for a young family to pass on the bikepath. A very long time actually. Finally they moved past and we could start the search. We suspected what we were looking for but it was Loki who tripped over it in the end. Thanks Rapidlywild
Needed a quick grab after work, this one was close by so we stopped to visit the quacker....all good. No muggles around at this time of night.

2 of 2 found on a chilly Monday afternoon stroll with the geodaughter...this one was great! TFTC!
At last the end of the week has arrived and I was able to get away for a bit of caching. I dismissed this a few weeks ago as it was dark, but this time I went in and was happy is was not where I feared and found a fun cache nicely hidden in a good environment for it.
Thanks.

Out on a suburban cache run with mr_roo. This container scared me silly - it was a wet, foggy morning and I wasn't sure what I was looking at! Container and cache in good condition. Thanks again :0
Got one like this one,tho this one scared us when we first saw it. Found today with kittykatch
After a very long day for both of us we headed out into the freezing cold night air. Thankfully a very quick find, love that old tree in the middle of that mini island ! Quack quack quack TFTC RW
This one took quite a bit of searching! Well hidden especially for its size. The container was quite similar to another one here in Gungahlin so I had a brief idea what to look for, brilliant cache however will add a favourite point!
I also dropped off the trackable "Shire Legal #2" for the next finder as it fitted very well and the cache is well concealed so hopefully it stays safe.

Just a great and fun hide. I loved the container, not a hard hide if you really get into searching for it. Thanks!!! The friend I was caching with left a trackable which fitted perfectly, I envy the next finder ;p.

To-day (well the morning was) was a beautiful crisp Canberra winters day. Decided to go for a stroll (12 kilometres) around Mulligans Flat and nearby suburbs to find a few caches. Nice walking through woodlands rather than thick Namadgi scrub. Took a bit of scrounging on hands and knees to find. TFTCs.
Swung by this one after a late night finish at work. Found the VERY familiar looking cache after a few moments of searching snuggled in it's "nest".
Thanks for the hide, Rapidlywild

What a beaut winters day to be out cacheing, Canberra was our destination. Wow this area has grown since the last time we were this way, Soon started out search and and revealed a cute cache keeper, it was everything it was quacked up to be. TFTC
We were only a few geocaches away from 4000 find, so our goal today was to get 23 caches, so that I could be on 3999. We were successful, meaning that I will be able to make my 4000th cache a special one. Such a lovely spot for a geocache - I love how these little bodies of water are scattered around the area. Once at GZ, it was a pretty quick find - we sort of knew what we were looking for. I love these containers - I have always wondered where you keep getting these ones! TNLNSL. TFTC RW!
ACTchil and I went out to grab a few qick caches today and this was close to the Jackakid's series so we had to get it. Got to gz and looked for a little while then after scurraging around I got a little fright, and after breathing again a smile came to my face I had found it. tftc Rapidlywild
was caching this afternoon with Darzee Di and this one was nearby so we both decided to give it a go. Checked for muggles and started looking around when all of a sudden Darzee Di yelled #uck!! not Duck, and she had the cache in hand. It gave Darzee Di a good scare but was a friendly cache after all. tftc Rapidlywild
There are times things can surprise. This time it was my iPhone - it was spot on for a change rather than indicating the general area.
4160. As I was in the area on "other" caching business, I decided to finish off on this one. Very very happy that the Oregon took me straight to the spot.
Thanks RW for the smiley. Not much quacking required for a change.

I could not Quacken find it. I looked everywhere. I noticed muggles watching me walking around in circles from a house close by so I left the area and will return another day.
This one really slowed down my finds rate on this overnight raid on Canberra, but it was my own fault. Once at GZ I decided I was looking for a particular container based on the surroundings and set about searching for it. I'm pretty good at spotting them now, except of course there isn't one here! It was only after reading previous logs and paying attention to the listing that I realised what I had in mind didn't fit the information on hand at all. So I was a little more deliberate and slow about following the coords and soon poked my hand into something, which gave me such a fright I literally jumped. Great work on the container! After this one I took a break for coffee and food to get my geo-sense back into gear. I ended up breaking my record for finds in a day, with 42 finds and no DNFs, so I can't complain. TFTC!

#830 6 of 7 today.
Last cache run before I head off to the USA for a few weeks.
Lots of ducking & weaving to find this one. Surprisingly well hidden. The Sikh couple passing nearby, unbeknownst to me, must have wondered what on earth I was up to.

Found this surprisingly quickly, which was good as the car parking was a bit iffy, and there were muggle kids nearby (but nicely hidden from GZ).
I looked at this spot to place a cache when the pond was first created (very bare then), but didn't get around to it.

A find to fill a gap in our geo-calendar. After a couple of beers up the road and with the light quickly fading, we took far too long to find this one. Also we can blame two iPhones which just would not settle down. We had preconceptions about the container which we tried to ignore, but they turned out to be just right. Another very nice Rapidlywild cache, TNLNSL TFTC
Well, I'm quacking happily - expected this to be more tricky than it proved to be - another great hide thanks Rapidlywild
This cache is everything it's quacked up to be. No mountebanks, charlatans or dodgy physicians here.
Found with AngelG27 just on sunset. In fact AngelG27 made the find while I was looking in the wrong direction. Loved the container.
Just realised that this is my third RW cache in the past two days - a CITO, a puzzle and a traditional.
Tks RW!

Found with ZQX who was looking to find more caches starting with "Q" after finding a nearby puzzle cache - we were on a roll! Liked that there was a place to pull off the road - that is not always guaranteed with the gutter designs in these suburbs. My GPS was not fully playing ball, but decided to take a leaf out of the searching technique employed by FurfacesLL at the CITO yesterday, and looked much more thoroughly than I would have previously - cache found on the first sweep! No need to duck back later :-0 Nice container and not really a surprise given the cache name Thanks Rapidlywild for this one!
#3205 - 10:35; I was getting ready to head out when the email popped up to say this cache had been published. The geohoney wasn't quite ready, so I made the dash over to GZ. Made a first pass without success, although I was confident abvout what I might be looking for. Waited a bit for a couple of muggles to pass and soon after had the cache in hand for a *FTF* on the second sweep. Nice containers these! TFTC Rapidlywild
