have searched a few times for this one on my daily walk. Haven't been able to locate it. Having just seen a few DNF. Maybe the cache is missing?

11-Apr-23
It appears the cache has been removed. We'll need to check and re-hide. Apologies to those who have tried hard to find it recently.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".

So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

**Thanks to Lovelylooms for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Beautiful day for caching, ran into another team of cachers from st Kilda who were on there way through back home. Brought along Rob and Maz to give them a taste of geocaching, the team we ran into found the cache pretty quick but didn't give away any clues and allowed my daughter friends and I to figure it out ourselves, it was pretty obvious but not so obvious, admittedly our dog kevin sniffed it out before my daughter discovered it Happy to say RobandMaz have now signed up to geocaching as well and we are heading out to do some more epic finds.

We came across our first interaction with some fellow geocachers whilst looking for this cache. Great camo!

Found it after what seemed like forever! It seriously should not have taken that long. I was about ready to quit after all the spiders spooked me. But I soon had the cache in hand. I've signed it and re placed. Thanks for the cache!
On another note, being in grade 6 at the time of loom bands, they certainly were very popular. Pretty sure I have thousands hiding around somewhere at home.

My plan for this AFL Grand Final public holiday was to get the old geocache Adelaide Mountain, but while driving there is started raining. As such, I thought I'd head somewhere closer. Birdsland Reserve looked pretty good, even if I haven't solved all the puzzles, nor qualify for all the challenges yet.

Since I was driving past this one, I thought I'd stop and take a look. The interesting gates were closed, so I parked nearby. Found this one at 7 am, and it was a lot bigger than what I thought I was looking for.

Thanks for the cache Lovely Looms

Quick afternoon hunt for caches.
The gate at this place is amazing. We walked in the where GZ had us and cringed at the rock bank. Time to start a searching..... took us a few minutes and much to geohusbands dismay it was I that had it in hand, and he calls himself the geomaster...... Whatever!

Talk about making an entrance. I am glad it was closed today as I got to see it at it's imposing best.
Now the cache.... Did a similar cache on a much larger scale years ago.
Looked took a break, repeat, repeat then there it is.
Patience, a systematic approach and a certain amount of luck is required here.
Not a cache for when there is an event on here as there is no hiding, except for the cache.
Thanks to Foxena

Out with xambo4u we cached in the Harkaway area.
We had to change plans when we discovered the gates to Cardinia Dam were locked, and would stay so for the next 5 weeks while they repaired the dam wall.
What impressive gates - spoke to locals who said they are locked a lot of the time.
At GZ we thought we would be there for a long time, but fortunately it was a quick find. Thanks Foxena.

Out and about with echidna44 for another enjoyable of caching and chatting. Heading home now as its getting dark. We are very impressed with the sporting facilities and the GATE you have here but what is locking people out about. Parking at gate we did the walk and made it easy find. Glad we did this on a non playing day. Cache is good condition. Thanks for the cache Lovelylooms I remember them well

A surprise quick find this morning with luck with noticing a small detail which was the cache. So with the task done it was time to move on for a walk around this sports reserve area. That is an impressive gate construction done at the entrance (how much did that cost the rate payers?!). The gates where closed at this time of day.

Spent about 01 minutes searching for this one, and after the fifth snake (which turned out to be tiny lizards) I was about to give up.

Just as all hope had faded, the CO turned up with their GeoDog and was able to offer some assistance.

Today I have been bodily working away at my thesis and looked up at the clock at 9.30 to realise I hadn't found a cache yet today! I can't let the streak die, so this was the goal for today. I've been here once before but was prohibited from searching due to it being muggle central at the time. In my head it was going to be a simple park and grab. But given it's so late the gates were closed and I had to park across the road. This wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the giant moths that were swarming me! I'm usually fine with bugs but these were huge and buzzing loudly and flying straight into my face!

Thankfully the cache was quickly found in the deserted park and I managed to hop back in the car without any moths stowing away.

I loved friendship bracelets when I was little, I feel like every generation has a new iteration and looming was a recent one. My cousin's were obsessed! Thanks for the cache!

With the new year upon us (and a public holiday to be appropriately made use of), buhfuhguh and I made an impromptu trip to kick off a year of caching in an area ranging all the way from Scoresby to Officer.
There were plenty of finds with lots of walking to accompany them, though plenty of fun was had as always, notwithstanding the fact that I foolishly didn't apply sunscreen and ended up with a less-than-pleasant sunburn afterwards!

First of all, what an awesome gate.
That gate has absolutely zero need to be that cool and yet it still is.
If I ever become super rich and have a mansion or something, I would like one of those please.

Anyway...

We approached gz and I immediately did everything in my power to stall the inevitability of actually looking for the cache where the coordinates said it was.
Maybe it's still at the old coordinates.. no it was moved because the structure there was removed.
Maybe it's at this tree... no that's not really near the coordinates.
Maybe I could spend some more time admiring that neat gate... no I've already done that.
Sigh... rock bank it is.

Fortunately, buhfuhguh had actually got to work in the meantime and it didn't really take too long to uncover the cache right where the coordinates said it would be.
The container was opened and it was interesting to see the cache's namesake alongside the logbook - I do recall falling into their target demographic some time ago.

Thanks to Lovelylooms for placing this one here! Smile

Another day out and about with Brainiac03 today as we go out for a very impromptu and sporadic day out caching with no real plan or guide to tell us where we are going. Just picking caches that we're nearby or interesting to keep up going. With roughly 24 found including a couple fun multis we were happy with today's work with no DNF's. A nice cool day after some swelters all in all had fun, Thanks for the cache and the little adventure

11-Oct-21
Have replaced the cache as we believe the original may have been muggled. Please be careful to replace it in its original position and try to avoid muggles (though we understand this is difficult on a busy soccer day!)

Very sadly, our Lovely Looms hiding spot has been removed by council workers. GeoMum happened to be walking past, spotted the works and retrieved our Lovely Looms before it got assigned to the rubbish tip! We'll have to brainstorm a new spot now and in the meantime, have disabled the cache.

We were in the area a while ago and dropped in to this cache.
We found the 'Looms' but unfortunately couldn't contribute to the collection.
Thanks Foxena for putting this cache here.

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###

----------

Hi there Cache Owner,

This cache has come to my notice as there is a 'Needs Maintenance' log that that indicates there is some sort of issue with the placement and it needs your attention please.

Check out the Guidelines here: [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable the cache**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.

**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?

You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:

- Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.

- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.

- If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will unfortunately have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

14 Apr 2018, Found @6:22 pm, Find # 1469

My plans to have a day to myself got interrupted when my daughters car wouldn’t start. Needing drive her and a friend to Fountain Gate to have a late lunch and watch a movie. I decided well if I’ve got four before she needs to be picked up I’ll go and find some caches. Of course the weather wasn’t on my side and the rain just kept coming. After a few hours of shopping in the shopping centre the rain had cleared enough for me to come and get this one. Good hiding spot and a nice little reserve.

Thanks to Foxena for placing this cache
