Bye bye.
Bye bye.
Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
As reported in previous logs the contained is in poor condition ... it has been chewed, it's full of holes, brittle, broken & in need of a new, dry log.
The container is no longer in the 'fork' but rather buried in a pile of bark, leaves etcetera.
The cache is in need of full restoration or archiving.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

One of my daughters who lives in Hervey Bay was getting an award today at school, so I made the trip from Beaudesert to Hervey Bay and back again in a day. Thankfully there's still a couple of caches between there that I hadn't gotten yet to break the long drive up.
895 kilometres in one day is a lot of driving! This was cache 5 of 33
These three here I had previously searched for, and all three I hadn't found, and all three I found with incredible ease this time around...not sure how I could've missed them the first time.
Container is unfortunately broken and could do with a replacment.
Thanks for the cache **Sweet-Sour**

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that i can claim the finds or not as the case may be. TFTC.
Took a little while but after some digging we had it in hand and singed the log!
Hubby and I are on our way to Hervey Bay before heading off to Fraser island to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I couldn’t resist stopping to pick this one up on our way through. TFTC
A stop on my drive north this morning and a little walk led me to find this cache. All good with this one. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Sweet-Sour.

Found by Mary and David at 10:40. A FP awarded for reminding us about rules. Mary's Dad was a teacher, so she moved around country Victoria. Very like rules for nurses. Ice cream parlours must have had a very shady reputation. Well worth a FP. Log is damp and tattered though. Our thanks to Sweet-Sour.

I had previously had the pleasure of driving past this cache a few times. Back then I was the driver and navigator in one and as it so often happened, you would pull over to get you bearings and realise you had driven 10 kilometres past the cache. These days Mrs Woodyrothwell helps navigate and actually plays close attention (providing no one is texting her, or a Kardashian hasn't fallen pregnant, plucked an eyebrow or instagrammed a fart, etc).
Today I got a fantastic countdown and without a speedster tucked right up into my date had time to even pull up and access a take off point from afar. We even got the chance to empty all of the empty coffee cups out in a bin which meant my car could proudly go to its next Weight Watchers meeting claiming to have lost a couple of kilos.
The grass looked ominous and the fear that it could contain something nasty was ever-present. These days I wonder what would win a fight between an ankle and a snake, and a patch of grass and some round-up. Whoever wins that lonely battle is irrelevant because wine wins any fight with an imaginary foe. tftc

I'm not the biggest fan of wandering through tall grass in thongs due to the risk of snakes. I braved it and found this one easily after a DNF on another cache.
Despite our obvious shortcomings in the area of sawmill stories, and entertainment in the form of lost items, Jez and I took over the back seat of Victor Del Prado for a run north to Bundy for the long weekend with 2/3 of The Bromance; Swellerfungus and Seff (seffnjarah). The J.E.F.F app had put together a list of targets, of which this was the first on our route. Amply refuelled by a large lemon lime bitters & a bloody good steak (pun very much intended ) I was now in the driver’s seat and keen to have a crack at a drive by via the gravel piles, but the anguished shrieks from the back convinced me otherwise. A quick find regardless, TFTC.
With a long weekend in play it was time for another road trip for The Bromance. With Crookedpete off doing his best Jack Sparrow impersonation on a sailing boat somewhere off of Hervey Bay, the full complement of JezNDez stepped up admirably to fill his shoes. A destination of Bundaberg was set and we headed off Friday afternoon to begin our adventure.
Out first 70 km of travelling took 2 hours thanks to the abominable traffic heading out of Brisbane and it was time for dinner by the time we reached Gympie. A pit stop for a fulfilling meal at the Gympie RSL gave us full bellies and we set off with Dez at the helm of Victor Del Prado for our first cache of the trip.
Dez was keen to make this a park and grab but the road spoil looked a little too daunting so we parked up and headed to GZ. A bit of wading through the long grass (long enough to nearly swallow me up whole) and we arrived to quickly locate this container safe and well. A successful start to this caching trip. TFTC

A long weekend usually leads to a well planned and executed attack by the Bromance on some unsuspecting rural township. Sadly that is not the case for this trip. Last weekend I reminded the lesser two members of the Bromance that we had still to think about where we may go for the upcoming long weekend. CrookedPete told us that he would rather set sail in the SS Minnow both gilligan and maryanne than come away with us left the door open for JeznDez. Apparently it takes two cachers to fill the spot of one CP (editors note - even with two people in the back there was never a hint of anything lost, missing or forgotten, and absolutely no stories of old forestry mills in the areas we visited). We decided only on Wednesday this week that we would once again attack the Bundaberg area and its surrounds, so the JEFF App went to work to hastily put together the semblance of a list (editors note - there was no colour in the spreadsheet, and a D/T rating that only suited SOME members of the group!).
This was our first cache of the trip, and a short walk over the banks of gravel had us straight to GZ, and a quick find in the obvious spot. No snakes or creepy crawlers to bother us tonight, so we all made it out alive!
Thanks for the cache. Trackable dropped.

Today is Mr FelixII's birthday and a plan was hatched to have lunch at the Theebine Hotel. But of course what's a birthday without a cache or 2.
A day of walking in wet grass and slippery tracks after the overnight rain, exploring a new area to us. Just what we love about Geocaching.
A short stop and your cache was found, log signed and we were on our way.

We were heading North for a few day in Bundy and it was time to stop to stretch the legs. it is possible to drive fairly close to the cache and then I braved the long grass to get to the search area. I found the cache after a short search but the current hiding spot does not match the hint. I replaced the cache as found.

On my way home from Woodgate, I stopped to get this cache. Nice drive-by, nice walk (long grass though!) and an easy find. Nice cache, found quickly. Stood up, bumped my head (glad it was not a very public place!) and slightly chipped a tooth as a result. Bit embarrassing really / But had a great time at Woodgate (again).

Up to Bundy for a few days for a not so pleasant reason - and today I get the job of driving back to Brisbane in the car. No other responsibilities today. Have noticed these on the TomTom many trips this year, but never the opportunity before to stop. Till today.

For the last eleven years I was looking for, finding and hiding geocaches as a part of the Muggefuerz-family. Now it got time to create my own account and as I already found this cache as a Muggefuerz, I‘m gonna slowly catch up on logging the caches I remember finding. I surely remember the caches found in Australia as I was living half a year in Brisbane and then went on a roadtrip with my whole family for nine weeks exploring places, meeting people and looking for geocaches wherever we went! I hope for your understanding and that it’s okay! Thank you for this cache!
