Not today. Poked in holes but nothing there. Will be back next time im down this way.
Return visit as muggles occupied the cache site last visit on a Saturday afternoon. Logbook has lots non-geocaching ? entries, still the cache survives; TFTC
Didn't take too long to find thanks to the hint. No one around to take any notice of us either. Tftc
Another cache that has been on the to do list for far too long.
It took a while for the GPS to settle so initially we were searching in the wrong place. Once in the right place, after a bit of grovelling, the cache was finally located. Nice spot, good to finally get here. TFTC.

#21503. Took a bit of grovelling round on hands and knees to spot this one (boy that gravel was hard on the knees). Was pleased to finally spot it. TFTC.
I am not sure how I missed this all those years back, maybe it was awol at the time? Anyhow, quick find tonight in the dark. TFTC!!

Yet another work/caching trip from Christchurch. GPS was jumping all around, but hint was very clear and helpful. Easy straightforward find here. TFTC

For some reason I made this one harder for myself than it really was. Great asset for the community!
Easy find once at the right table. The GPS wasn’t behaving that well today and at first pointed me to somewhere on the track.
We tried to do this cache once before years ago but there were people, kids, cars and bikes everywhere. This time we had the place to ourselves so while M went to see if the river was any good for fishing. I went to find the cache. No luck but when M got back, he soon had the cache safe and sound.
It took a few attempts to come back when no one was here but the job is finally done.

I lot of the plantings have been cleared and the cache is no longer there. Have worked out a new hiding spot nearby but will have to go home and find a container that will fit the new spot.
Hunting for the multicache along the trail and stumbled upon this cache along the way! I didn't know there was a dirtbike area around here before. TFTC! Signed as leotheanteater and penboi
First one of the day and a re visit. Geomum007 and I had the usual good look and happily something just caught my eye. How can you miss it?? Very easily obviously. Glad to earn the smiley.TFTH
Nice to be able to turn this one into a smiley. Spent some time searching with Busy paws, and in the end she came up with the container. TFTC!
Nice quick find. The cache is missing one of the blue clips but all dry inside. Thanks for the hide. #3157
Two of us had a good look here today and had no luck at all. Wonder if it's gone, the flax nearest the donation box isn't really substantial enough to hide a cache well. We checked the nearby grasses too and came up empty handed.
Had a very good fossick around the area, and a REALLY good look around the hint objest. Has it gone? Both Geomum007 and I gave this a good 10 mins. might need a CO check?
River is pretty high and fast flowing, no surprise after the rain. Cache was a quick find as nobody around. TFTC
A fairly quick find - we were almost standing on the cache, while searching all around the hint object. TFTC
Cool area, but I'm glad it was deserted today... just the faint sound of a dirt bike in the distance... not my kind of people... easy enough find... GLB1721 TFTC (4017)
Out with Aslan on the long weekend signed SS Aslan*. Thanks for the great hide
T-Tech and I are touring through South Island for 6 weeks [^]
We stayed last night in Ashburton and after making some purchases in town this morning, headed out to grab a cache or two. I wanted to pick up the nearby multi and really enjoyed my walk along the river, while T-Tech went to get coffee and cake, and we met up at Trevor Street. We decided we'd better collect this one as well [^] I gave it the first go over, but not knowing NZ fauna too well meant I was searching several of the wrong things We did some googling then T-Tech went over for a search and made the find TFTC, Minecraft Boy.

Over from Brisbane for a number of weeks "motorhoming" around the South Island with IolantheK [^]
Stayed over night here and grabbed this cache whilst having coffee here in the morning before heading south [^]
After looking for a while I did a Google search for the plant in the hint (not being familiar with it) and realised we were looking in the wrong place, we soon had a find [^]

Nobody around at all this morning so the cache was soon in hand. Left TB. TFTC.
Last time I was here GZ was full of roaring trail bikes and riders sitting within 5m of the place. Today - nary a one. = Quick find TFTC Minecraft_Boy
TFTC- Found after about 5 minutes searching. Didn't bring a pen so couldn't sign log
Got some cheap flights a few weeks ago so the plan was to come down for a big run in Ashburton to achieve the 120 in one day and get the gemstone. OMG! We started at the crack of dawn and finished in the dark. Foggy and cool but cleared by lunchtime. It should have been achieved much quicker. We had not really planned a route and detoured a bit. Some of this backfired as we ended up on some long gravel roads that had missing caches and was most disappointing. We got stuck for about an hour on a multi I specially wanted for qualifying for another cache which was frustrating. However, we made it - with a few to spare I believe - but are totally shattered. Too many to log individually so are doing the copy and paste. Many thanks to all who placed caches. What beautiful countryside and we love the fact we could pull over and park safely. Not keen on the many prickly pine trees so many were hidden under. The breeze only got up in the afternoon and it was a lovely warm breeze - not like Manawatu freezing winds even at this time of the year. More traffic on the roads than we expected and they fair motor along. Many thanks for the caches. It has made the whole trip worthwhile.
What a fabulous park. Loved it. Hubby soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

Stopped by today's 35km cyclocache ride along the Lake Hood Cycle Trail, around Lake Hood and then back to our north Ashburton caravan base. Didn't search for the cache as I diuscovered that early Saturday afternoons are not a good time to visit. Dirt bikers were seated at GZ and the dirt bike trails were in full use.
No luck and I was just about to give up on this one, however a final read of the logs turned up some more information that enabled a quick find. Don't use the supplied hint, it is no longer correct. Signed log, TFTC
Mum (Kiwi Nomad) and I went out and checked on the cache. After a good five minutes we found it. The camo was starting to come off and it looked like someone had stood on it so we did a quick change over to the new container we had brought with us.
The new container is now in place with the original logbook and hint updated.
Mum's phone was all over the place so hopefully the hint will help.
Plus we think it had rolled down the bank from where it had last been placed so don't forget to widen your search area if it isn't where the hint says it should be.

As there was lots of people round and lots of bikes we could not find this one
For some reason this wasn't on my watchlist so I missed the dnf's on it.
The cache is quite a long way underneath so could still be there, (I nearly didn't find it last time I looked).
I will make sure Minecraft Boy and I check on this cache when we get back from our holiday.

Hmmm... This one beat me! When arrived, there was a mum with a toddler and a dog, but I was able to search as they were around the corner. Later she went for a walk with a friend that joined her, so I decided to do the same and find the one along the river. I got back, searched some more, still nothing...
We came here after the CITO clean up on the other end of the River Walkway. A local muggle knew what we were doing and took pity on us as we tried to look innocent in searching. He said he had shown a few other people now so we stay and talked a few minutes about what it was all about. He seemed interested - or atleast impressed with the worldwide game he knew nothing about. We think this cache needs either a hint or a higher D rating. Thanks for the cache.
Our Christchurch Lads would looove this place,we're very impressed with the area, since we were last down here.Took a few mins to track down..TFTH
Last time I was here the place was packed and noisy, however today one car and no motorbikes. Which was brilliant for the hunt around. Cool donations box, not likely to go missing any time soon that one. Cheers
7249. After a couple of days geocaching in Ashburton with granddaughter Stella (10) we headed home to Christchurch , geocaching on the way. This was cache find number two of eleven for the day as we left town. A nice quick and easy find at an area we have geocached in before. Loved the donation box nearby - would make a great cache container! Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
On a three day geocaching trip in Mid-Canterbury with Grandma and Poppa (Sallies). Now on our way back to Christchurch. This was my seventeenth cache find of the trip. Found after a short search. Loved the motorbike donation box! Thanks for the cache. Starza.
Me stroll around Ashvegas (?) continued and took me to riverside
Where I found that most unpleasant of locations, a dirt bike track
Happily I haven't heard any of the idiots on me visit to New Zealand
Back home in Oz they are a destructive plague on the landscape
Even taking over walking trails in National Parks [:o]
Here by the side of the river, me luck was in, the area was dirt bike free
So I could poke around for the cache without being covered in dust [^]
Much poking was achieved
More than I thought necessary
But the cache had to be in the dusty plants somewhere ??
20 minutes later and I found the right spot to find the cache
TFTC !!

First for the day, a pretty quiet time to be here at 6:30am
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pi, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol
Some significant milestones where up for grabs, and were duly celebrated.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

We came here earlier in the day and it was busy busy with motorbikes. so came back at 5pm and still there were people here. I wonder when we will be able to find a time when we can have a good look but it certainly wasn't today. LOL
Out on a mission with TG on a lovely Sunday evening. Started a bit earlier as we were heading to Ashvegas Town. The sky was spectactular as we headed south. We had a great evening with a couple of FTFs, great caches, and a rather sedate drive clocking up just over 200km for the evening. Still feeling a bit underpowered energy wise but I guess I'll pay for it tomorrow.
Oh poo there was a car parked near GZ as we approached but with careful parking and a quick find the muggles were none the wiser. Grabbed a TB.
Thanks for the cache.

A caching trip to Ashvegas has come up in conversation a few times with TW but the time was never right...but this evening the planets finally aligned for a fun wee trip. Left a bit earlier than usual and set ourselves a 10pm 'head homewards' curfew. What a blast; a couple FTFs, a handful of caches and 200km travelled (mild compared to some of our trips!). Great fun.
Approaching gz over the stopbank we were disappointed to spot a vehicle parked up near gz....as we got closer we saw it appeared to be a bit further on... Slowed down and counted down the meters. Sweet. Parked carefully and we were able to make a quick screened find and sign before moving on. Wonder what they thought of us?! Ha-ha...

A quick find at the end of the day. A couple of dirt bikers were hooning around the course but no problems. TFTC
