Unfortunately no luck for us today. Got the required info then set about doing the maths. Didn't work out the first time so rechecked, but brain still not working so Andy stared doing the maths on his piece of paper. Before he got an answer, I worked out that I had again transposed a number (second time today). With that sorted, check sum worked out and I had the final co-ords. Now to sort the track/parking co-ords. Again the numbers didn't add up and Andy came up with the same answer as I did. Will send CO a note requesting check as I see others have had the same issue. Once we finally found the start of the track, we headed off down to the handy seat. A look around noted that some recent pruning had happened, possibly since last finder visited. With no leaves on the trees, we had a pretty good look all around as came up empty handed. Will watch this space.

Out for a late after stroll while staying in the area to find this. Took the long way and afterwards drove to a much closer start. Took a bit longer than it should have. Stunning views. Will msg owner re maintenance. Tftc.

Yay! What a gorgeous spot - lovely walk on a cool autumn day amongst the deciduous trees. Heart sunk on arrival as my perennially confused GPS gave me a choice of 5 or 6 natural objets to choose from as per the hint - and finding caches in these particular vessels has not proven to be my forte. Luckily, I spotted the clever cache whilst circling the likely candidates! TFTC Smile. Now I really ought to head to work!

I have had this on the back burner for a while, solving years ago, coming here once and not finding the access spot, and periodically checking in on the cache page to see developments. Today, with RG as a foil, we came for another look. In the end, the access was very easy, thanks to previous logs. The waypoints I had loaded, presumably from my calculations of what the CO offered, were way out. Found in the obvious spot, we had expected the walk in to be a bit longer. TFTC Kiwimykl, another ticked off, finally.

RG72 and I went for a bit of a drive picking up a small number of caches on back roads. The weather was looking dicey so we ditched the plan of a walk up the Withers for this option instead. Cheers all.

Located but will come back another day and walk to it - not looking bike-friendly. Extra co-ords to locate pathway certainly helps with access way Smile.

Out for an early morning ride in the wind, but no rain, yet. Getting to the start point was easy. Right, got the numbers for the solve. Put them through the clues and got a final point to head to. I can see why the early finders thought they could head straight there because it's only 150m away and there were probably less houses up here than now. Lets see about that trailhead WP. What, way back the other way 500 m or so. That doesn't make sense, can't be in the middle of a vineyard. Oh well, I'll just head towards the final on the legal roads and see what I can find. Look at that, a track off to the side leading the right way. Off we go. Got to the final, where the seat is but couldn't find anything at the coordinates I had, which like another funder, put me to the North of the seat. Ignore that and search to the South. There it is, about 14m off the coordinates I had worked out. To be expected sometimes. Signed and returned as is. All in good condition.

After a hike in the Wither Hills and lunch we(eltee291 and myself) headed out to find some more caches, this being one of our targets! Worked out the coordinates and headed over to GZ. Nice little walk from where we parked, some nice views! Interesting cache placement, took us a few minutes to spot it. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the nice multi cache, Kiwimykl! Smile

Found this afternoon with hingis20. Trying to figure out some waypoint coords for this one didn’t work out for us so we decided to try to find the trail. Got lucky when a couple of muggles came towards from the trail we were looking for. After a tasking but great hike through the Wither Hills, and a bit of a rest break, hingis20 and I headed out to tackle some of the less arduous caches around the area. The day is clearing up and becoming quite nice. On vacation from Victoria, BC, Canada and visiting my daughter and her family in Blenheim. TFTC

We quickly located the required number, and soon had coordinates. We tried to calculate the coordinates for the start of the track, but these were so far away, they were clearly wrong. Instead we drove to the top of the road, and not seeing any track, just headed in from there, and soon found ourselves on the required track. We soon found the seat, with its great view of the lake, however our coordinates had us north of the seat, in contradiction to the information given in the cache description. Using this information, we quickly located the cache, 15 metres south of our calculated coordinates. TFTC

Once I finally figured out the start of the track it didn't take long to get there. My numbers were a little out but found with the help of the hint. TFTC Kiwimykl

After collecting the info I had some difficulty working out where the track entrance was but luckily happened upon the one in the nearby cul de sac. From there it was a lovely walk to GZ. It's not very often you see cabbage trees planted in a row like that but at least it means SOME of the trees are native. Cache found with the aid of the hint. Nice views and nice area. Thanks for bringing me here Smile.

Out for a big day of geocaching. 30 on the list and we thought we'd see how many we could find. Did well today and found almost all of them. All were great hides, and we even learned stuff along the way.

Apologies for generic log, but so many to log before bed! Thanks to all the COs!!

Found with coastalmartinis, FluffyUnicorn02, and PotterFan16279.

We went out for a family day of geocaching. I think we had 30 on our list and only DNF a few. All of them were really cool hides. Thanks so much to all the COs who thought them up.

I'm really sorry to leave the same log for all of them but I don't type very well and there are so many I have to log tonight.
Found with FluffyUnicorn02, crman1, and coastalmartinis.

What a gorgeous view from up here!! Took some great pictures, got our feet wet, and found the cache while we were at it. Just a note...the 'O' ring on the container is getting a bit iffy, might need replacing soon.

Found with crman1, FluffyUnicorn02, PotterFan16279. TFTC!

Out on a cache maintenance drive but decided to detour to this multi on the way. Father in law in tow so after collecting the info drive around and lucked onto the entrance in the nearby culdersac. From there it was a lovely walk through the well treed reserve. Half way to gz I started to doubt my calculations so double checked them. Checker suggested they were all good and we soon saw the track up to gz. Cache found with the aid of the hint. Nice views and nice area. Nice multi so gets the +1 tick from me.
Thanks Kiwimykl for the cache.

Out and about on a stifling Friday evening with hubby (Kiwimykl) who is the CO of this cache, adding to my total by collecting a whole bunch of local caches. We went to the furthest from home first and will work our way back to town along Old Renwick Road and its tributaries.

Being the COs significant other has its advantages when it comes to finding his caches, and I took full advantage of that fact. First log since cache maintenance was carried out. All good

Logging with the CO's permission. At his request, we sent through the final coordinates we had and, as they were correct and the cache MIA, we were told to log a find.
Mrs Sobad did enjoy the multi. The extra code for the entrance to the track made that easy to find which we note others have logged. Nice view of the Lake from the area and the seat would have been useful if the cache had been there.
Thanks.

Mrs SoBad found the waypoint, the track and 3 potential GZs for the sort of hide she was expecting. Just couldnt find the cache today. Second cache for the day so she did double check. It is probably there if it is the type of hide she was expecting as we usualy rely on 2 sets of eyes for these.

After a DNF earlier on this afternoon I took a slight detour while on a supermarket errand for Mrs Kiwimykl and checked the cache. Sure enough it has gone AWOL so I replaced it with the same container at the same coordinates.

We were in the area for the GIFF Event so had time to complete some multis we neglected on our last visit over the hill, plus some new and not so new traditionals. This was one of the last for the day and a pleasant walk to GZ after decoding the parking co-ords, I doubt we would have found the track without those. Thank you Kiwimykl.

At the given coords we enjoyed the view while compiling the final coords. The spring growth has been unbelievable around GZ with grass seed heads reaching up to shoulder height. That way point sure was handy because from there we soon spotted the mown path to GZ proper. A nice walk with nice views. Shame about those ugly houses. Thank you Kiwimykl

Enjoyed the drive up and down having a good nosey parker at all these places - some lovely and some not. Found the numbers, did the sums and then did the zig zag down and up. Made good use of the seat then zig zagged down and up again. TFTC #6992

I have been studiously avoiding the two multi's up here for quite a while. I've even had three rounds of golf at Fairhall this year so far. Time to harden up and do the yards. Read the cache page. Did my sums and like Bum decided that I was going to make use of one of the still vacant sections Surprised
Got to GZ and found the key ring but no cache. Rummaged in the long grass and came up with the goods. Reattached the container but I am wondering if the strong winds up here are have rotated it off.
Anyway enjoyed the multi and the rubber necking. There sure are some nice abodes up here.

Golly we made a hash of this one! On our first attempt we tried to 'do a sneaky' and drive to GZ. Umm, obviously no. Today, after Mrs W had read previous logs we went to the start of the track, read the hint. Ah yes, we saw a bench seat last time, must be there, so we walked straight to that not following GPS. Umm, obviously no. 330m to GZ - can't really even claim a 'rookie mistake' this was outright stupidity! By this time the little ones were over it. So.... back up to the car goes Mrs W dragging the three year old, baby on her back while Mr W and the the dog RUN to GZ. On the upside, Miss 3 spent the time waiting for Dad photographing toadstools for her, and I quote, "field journal" !?!?! - A little mad scientist in the making. ANYWAY, got there in the end - a very well earned smiley. TFTC and the adventure.

#9411. It wasn't too hard to get coords, but then we struggled to work out how to get access. I took a somewhat cross country approach, and then found the right track which I took on the way out (and ended up at the end of the road). TFTC.

After finding the nearby multi, we headed up the hill to this cache's published co-ords. The wind was blowing coldly so we tried to read the numbers from the comfort of the car, but couldn't quite make out the last digit so I was sent out for a recce.
Now we had the final co-ords but were at a loss at how to get there. Drove around a bit but didn't spot the start of the track so we went back to the published co-ords. The cache description mentioned that we could park nearby so we deduced that the invisible track starts here. Not quite a 1 1/2 terrain walk. And did I mention that the wind was cold? Anyway, good to get our names in the log book and took the correct path back to the road. TFTC.

I have checked out the lake previously, so knew of the walkway....but not the seat.
I took the short cut knowing that won't always be possible.
Thanks for the nice cache.

[green] today is a dot day so a-caching I will go. Headed up this way to clear out the last of green scunge (and this yellow) off the map. Discovered that the road is off the map, so I turned on the breadcrumbs and plotted the road and the side road (Penrith Place) so that I can add it to the map when I get my internet connection back - I am working off cellphone data at the moment. Got the coords, locked up the bike and headed down the hill. Found the cache, then had a look around. The cache description mentioned a lake. Small puddle, more like! Photo attached. I guess we could use more rain!
Kiwimykl - it would be nice if you put in the start coordinates of the track as a waypoint on this cache. I took a short cut, but the boundary pegs there suggest that the sort cut I took will eventually be built up and there will be no access that way. The track start is off Penrith Place, at S41° 32.276 E173° 52.417.

My mission today was to get to 9000 cache finds. I decided to head over the hills to Marlborough where there are plenty for me to choose from. 10 caches later I headed back to Nelson for a very special #9000. This was #8999. A nice multi indeed. I didn't need to get out of my car at the published waypoint as the information required was nice and clear. Work out where to go and eventually worked out how to get there. No problems finding the cache. My last cache in Marlborough today, time to head back to Nelson for #9000. TFTC, Biggles.

Another for my collection. Woop woop. (FTF){FTF} [FTF]*FTF*
A nice idea for a placement and using a local feature to get the coordinates meant that this was a Q E F. Was tempted to make it a Park n grab as the wide path was quite alluring, but not the right decision. Cache title just kind of reminds me of Andrew (Ridge) ley, out of Wham. Emerson (Lake) and Palmer. ........and finally that song by Duran Duran; A view to a kill
T F T C Kiwimykl and F P for the placement
