This one needs maintenance at the very least but given the issues listed in my log today I think serious consideration should be given to archiving it.
We have been here before. With no luck.
But we were out driving around again and this is still the closest to home unfound.
A relatively recent comment by the WildBill63 suggested a more specific location
"Went back after 6 people failed to find it still there clamafage Approach 1, yard from string right side"
The problem with words like Left and Right is they very much depend where you are standing! At least I knew the string had nothing to do with it. Well not now anyway.
Well this time I found a cache. And it fitted other finders descriptions as it was full of a soaked illegible ball of paper. Inkstains on it but nothing readable.
And the container was an eclipse mint tin painted black in the fork of the tree. The tree with the string in it. This hardly qualifies as a camouflaged container in this sort of setting. Which makes me wonder if this was the original cache or perhaps a replacement someone has put down?
I think this one needs maintenance at the least and probably archiving as well as neither the hide, nor the location, are particularly inspiring. In addition the amount of leaf litter and rubbish made me quite nervous about finding a needle or something else nasty here. Quite a number of people have DNFed, so I assume they spent time searching in the leaf litter too.
I note the CO has only 7 finds and no activity since 2014 so maybe archive it if he/she is not active under another name?
TNLNSL - well I wrote B&J with a pencil on the outside of the lump of paper.

A quick find after the pub lunch event in the city on the way to an appointment. The log was fairly damp and hard to write on - it needs a new log.
I haven't been to California for a few years now, but plan to go back as it certainly is a very diverse place.
Thanks for the cache

Out and about caching, laughing, with Snap Happy, Tomboy711 and Paris Laura.
This was a DNF for us today.
This was a DNF for us today.
Out and about on a lovely day with SnapHappy, Tomboy711 and SA Sewer Rats. Unfortuanately though today none of us could make the find. Ill try again another time.
To keep our daily streak going, snuck past this one on the way home from work. Hiding in the bushes, I must have put my hand on it three or four times before I uncovered it :cP TFTC!!
It took a few minutes to search. I was so happy when I found it as I did not want to go home with a DNF again….
Thanks GilbertScout for the cache

Found while out on a lovely sunday afternoon in the suburbs hunting smilies.
Looked for quite a while and found lots of stuff, some interesting, some not, before resorting to a PAF line.
Resulted in a quick find less that 6 inches from where I'd left GPSr while searching.
Seems a lot harder that a 1.5, maybe a hint that works would help in cutting down on suspicious behaviour in the bushes.
Also is micro not small.
Thanks for the cache GilbertScout

We tried this one before, but with no luck. Maybe it was too late and too dark there. Not recommended for night cache.
This morning, when I came back, it did not take me too long to spot it. It was not too difficult to find it, if you are in the right angle. Signed, and placed it back.
Still, I don't know what the hint refers to.
Thanks for the cache, GilbertScout.

No red herrings today. Just kept the hint in mind while I was looking and there was the cache TFTC
We were fortunate to find this one rather quickly and can imagine how others would miss it .
TNLNSL.
This is always a beautiful area of Adelaide to visit [^].
Thanks Bengsamy.

Unable to locate, sadly there was too much rubbish under the trees and didn't want to fossic amongst the rubbish
Not hard to find if you just look. BYO pen. Signed log, left a coin from the Czech Republic. TFTC!
Woo hoo found it. Almost gave up but gave it one more try. There were a number of decoys.
Thanks,
Tigey
Thanks,

With a very cracked screen I added an extra level of difficulty finding this one. Was equally surprised with the red herrings around the cache as previously mentioned. Thanks for the smiley face and for hiding this cache
Very strange one for me... found it, but also found a bottle bong, a hanging log and a shopping trolley full of old plastic appliances. But I found it. Tftc
Found. Took a while to find, but found it just before we were about to give up
This took us quite some time! ....................... but in the end clare007 made the find!
Out for the day with CPwanderer and clare007 ... caching our way to the International Geocaching Day event at Salisbury.
This took us a while but eventually clare found the sneaky hide.

Out & about with CPWanderer & Gizmos Gang.
We managed to get distracted by the vines, leaves and spreading tree limbs.
My GPS zeroed in at the first main tree, but its not where I found the little devil.
Thanks to a PAF, they kindly gave us a few hints.

I was surfin' Nailsworth, Ay !! this morning.
Dreaming of that perfect set of geocaches
There were three for me to find within a mile of me 'beach house'.
Many of the 'beach houses' in this area were built in the 1910's and 20's and the style of architecture is referred to as a "California Bungalow"
So I guess that is where this esplanade got its quirky name from
At the end of me California strollin' I found the quiet little cove and ducked in under the 'pandanus' trees for a quick cache find

Finally found after a fair while searching. Looking at night was not the best idea! But made the find that much more rewarding. Thanks for the hide
Owl's first visit here was a failure. Too much interest in a hanging log decoy! The second visit was aborted by a chatting Telstra technician and someone mowing the lawns - in heavy rain, no less! Today was a quick find and sign. Phew!
Found during a quick early morning tour of the area. Thanks for the cache GilbertScout!
Have been to this park before quite a few years ago chasing a GCA cache. Unfortunately the coordinates for that one where terrible (in the middle of the grass) and the few of us that looked could never find it, and eventually it became archived.
This one thankfully has had a few finders, but I thought I was going to be another DNF'er. Took ages looking around, trying to make sense of the clue (without joy). Was about to give up but decided to read all the found logs. Thankfully I found enough information to abandon my search with a stick, and after a bit more prodding found the cache where I should've looked more closely to begin with - as my spidey senses were tingling for there. Arrgghh.
Anyway, a nice spot for looking, and I'm glad I knocked it off - not sure when I'd pass next as I rarely come this side of town these days.
Then it was time to head back to work, and to my boss who came from California, and wears a Californian shirt each Friday.

Cheers

Out and about running a few errands this afternoon, thought we would grab a few caches along the way. Stopped of to grab this one, deja vu we have been here before capturing a munzee. Nearly gave up on this one when we got a little clue from a previous log.

Out with another cacher, we looked down and all around, on a double check near a good spot, my caching mate made the find. Not a small, a micro. Ignore the log in the tree and look down and around people. TFTH.
Mr Tardis stopped by to grab this new cache on the way home from work. I searched for a couple of minutes and then read some previous logs. There was one that gave me a bit of a hint as to where it might be hiding and sure enough I found it.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache bengsamy.

1st attempt today, unfortunately after searching at the location for about 15mins it started raining and we had to postpone the search. Qtn though... Does the hanging log in the tree have anything to do with it? Or am I way off? Also I'm new to this and don't know if asking qtns is allowed so if it's not please disregard my previous qtn
Aww my daughter and I were struggling and we did not find the cache but very good hiding skills!
I went and played with some big grey horses tonight, after work, and then grabbed 3 on my way home.
This was not a quick find but thankfully, it didn't take as long as the flight to California would!
Up, down, look all around then find the cache tucked under.....

Nice one. Found on 2nd visit. Looking on all the wrong spots first time. Like the distraction if that was planned. TFTC.
All the leaves are brown and fallen on the cache.
I've been for a walk on an autumn day.
I'd be safe and warm if I found this cache;
California dreamin' and the sats are in the sky.
Stopped in to a park I passed along the way.
Well I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray.
You know this cache is somewhere here;
Mint tin knows I'm gonna stay until I find it.

Found by The Boofs TFTC ?. Took a while and I ended up cleaning up the park (well I did my bit!!)
I could check into GZ but had a lot of trouble checking out. I stayed for far longer than I should have. Nearly bashed the Astro dome on the false log.[xx(] How weird. What is that doing there? I did not find any money.
Our thanks to bengsamy and clear skies from TeamAstro..
A weird set up in there! We found it eventually, my Bestie got her hands on it first, and the wallet too!
A nice park.

Yay - Joint FTF @ 10:45pm. After a solo FTF at another nearby cache, arrived here to find a dodgy character lurking in the shadows. Should have known it would be RideTheGeoWalrus! Took a little while for my GPSr to wake up and, before my search could begin in earnest, RTGW had made the find. The cache name is definitely an omen for us since the 3 pirates are all off the California in about 2 weeks time. Left a pathtag. TFTC bengsamy!
Joint FTF at 22:45 with a pirate who arrived fresh from another first. Had a quick look around in between passing traffic, however soon after I had company in my search and after a more thorough look the cache was in hand. Like a few others I was initially thrown by the hanging log. TFTC bengsamy!
Took quite a few minutes to locate, found what I thought was the cache and also someone's complete wallet to hand into the local police station before the hide! This song is in my top ten tunes of all time. SL Took pathtag TFTC
