Found by caughtatwork on 23/11/2024 at 7:35:00 AMA quick caching morning on a day that was very warm and will become even warmer.Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.*Overall Experience: 3*GAFF1
Rated: for Overall Experience
Out for another day of adventures with carmlee1, first of the day a quick and easy snaffle
Another day of adventure with doddlingalong. A bit chilly but so good to be out of the city. Thought we would give this collection a start and see how many we can collect. TFTC
Went out for a drive with the family and did a few of the geocaches in the series of dads driving lessons.Weather was spot onThanks for the caches.
Out and about today just grabbing a few caches to add to my collection. Quick find thanks.
Trying to keep up with the Jones in the Cosmic Quest! Many thanks carkisser for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.Greetings from Tatura, Australia
Tftc, let the adventure begin. We are just passing through, so will have to save the journey for another time. Great way to honour the memory.
Accompanied with theashleys7 for caching day at Mt Disappointment. We enjoyed our journey to find the caches and some DNFs. Weather was freezing in the morning and nice in the afternoon. Found it and logged as KASA24 as a team. Thanks Carkisser for placing the cache
Logged as KASA24 as kangas11 and I both had a huge day today caching together at Mt Disappointment and writing our team name instead of both our caching usernames saved us time. I did the driving while kangas11 did the finding & writing in the logbooks. Tomorrow back to Mt Disappointment for more and well be swapping our roles. TFTC Carkisser!
Goal this afternoon is to get 25 caches so picked this trail.Love the story behind it and are looking forward to getting all these caches over time. Each log to follow will be brief so all caches found in good order unless stated otherwise. #1 TFTC, SL at 14:30pm.
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 41/74, Saturday. Today, I decided to do some trail caching and headed to the Mount Disappointment area. I searched quite a big number of caches today. Some of them I simply skipped, due to various reasons: there were some DNF's and I could not be bothered - the place was too "bushy" or otherwise unpleasant, or I did not find the cache in less than a minute (which was my limit for patience today). I knew I would only get a fraction of the caches anyway, so it made no sense to try to get each and every one of them systematically. So, I was a bit lazy. Most of the caches today were found very quickly and I had a lot of fun. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
Day off today so thought wed head out & gather some smiles. Quick park & sign. TFTC
Domani all'alba partiamo per l'Australia...
Quickly stopped to grab the first of this trail on the way to Mansfield. Might come back next week and do more with the family.
As you can guess, we've thought about, heard about, and conjectured about this series for ages. Today, we're passing through, butt stopped to grab the first one, as a taste test. We wondered if it was called Mt Disappointment because there's 200 regular caches with no trades. No disappointment here today! SueHut's enthusiasm for the series has increased exponentially! Thanks heaps for the first of what we hope to be many.
28/12/23During our short lived stay at home holiday, Mr h and I decided to head back out and try to finish the TWC series, however, we find ourselves a bit out of practice. After gather a multi in Whittlesea, we had a look on the map and decided that we haven't done any of the Mt Disappointment caches! With Mr H still sore and recovering from recent surgery, we needed something stimulating, yet not too demanding on the body. We found ourselves very thankful for the (so far) paved roads, and the close Proximity of parking to each cache, making this trail the perfect balance we needed!Cache: In good condition, easy to find!TFTC!!!!HoodedHooligans (H.H.)
Find#6010Nice hiding place Found with the adventure boys during the Whittlesea mega 2022 Thanks for the cache
I thought this was going to take awhile given the overgrown foliage but I stopped over thinking, trusted my navigator and spotted the cache. TN, left a pathtag. TFTC
A trip to this region of the Australia was planned. In order to search and find a few caches here, various caches were dragged onto the Garmin. When we got here we saw a nice power trail. Without further ado, we organized various groceries to make ends meet. Filled up the rental car again and off we went. Our 4 WD-Truck is ready for this trip! After some time of starting this challenge, we came across here as well. We had to search a little longer for one or the other cache. Thanks to the owner for laying, caring for and guiding. TFTCKind regards from Germany ????
Driving past on the way home at dusk, we needed a cache today to fill a calendar gap so we stopped for a quick park and grab. We will be back tomorrow to do more Driving Lesson caches and maybe reach the summit. TFTC
How stunning is this weather! Thank you Melbourne for the chance to dress like it isn’t Eskimo weather ️
Although the journey described in the description sounds ‘fun’ we might leave it for a day we have the 4x4 rather than my little hatchback
Quick find, out in the open so tucked it in a bit more for camouflage ️

After a planned Saturday of geocaching around Lancefeild and sourounds, we found ourselves finishing up the day in Wallan. As a joke, I said to Mrs 4wd that we should just go to Dissa and camp the night and smash out the few caches we had DNFs on the power trail that had since been replaced.
Next minute, we were off into the bush and set up camp at Campsite #1 ahh the freedom of a rooftop tent and having the 4wd set up for such spontaneous decisions.. Caching is way more fun than the day I had planned to catch up at work.
I'm happy to have finished off this series

A handy little pull over spot right nearby made this a quick cache to find... After I got a huge fright from the dead roo that is.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Moved to Hurstbridge 6 month ago and haven't really done any geocaching in the area, in fact, I've not done a lot since I left Bendigo a few years ago, So, today I decided to go for a drive and boost my finds by starting the Mt Disappointment Driving Series of caches.
What better place to start than Cache 1 in the series, which was found, logged and returned quickly and away I went

Day 2 to complete some caches to get to 2000 for first anniversary of caching. Here at Mt Disappointment to do some of this series.

We started a few in this series on our way home to Rutherglen from Portsea! Yes, it’s a big detour, but isn’t that what geocaching is about?!
Although the roadside parking was a bit hairy at times, we were able to stay safe.
Thanks.

Took me a while to find the road, almost got here accidentally. Fairly easy find but no rock, so I placed one TFTC
I was here for the Whittlesea mega and today I had planned to do other caches in another area on my bicycle but in view if the potential for inclement weather The Mt Disappointment Trail was Plan B. With Plan B in action this was my first cache for the day and the hope of at least fifty more before other commitments need my attention.
I had made a bold (for me) decision to fly to Melbourne for a weekend and the [Whittlesea Mega-Event](https://coord.info/GC8EW40). I've never been to Victoria really before this year, and here I am, twice in a month (a few weeks ago for work)! Last night saw a lot of big storms and loads of rain. This morning still some drizzle occasionally.
Right after the morning sessions at the Mega, I grabbed a hire car from Big Matt and made the solo dash north to collect some choice geocaches. The drive was longer than guessed, the weather was wetter, and ultimately I'd be late to lunch. Whatever, worth it!
The drive was just spectacular. Country Victoria played out just that little bit out the windows. Clear and vivid green after the storms and rather stereotypical of what I'd expected of the area It was a thoroughly enjoyable drive. I was by now on my way back south and wanted to grab just one more. This series wended along the map and poked near the highway here. And #1 in the series. That seems perfect.
Also, I recalled when I was learning to drive, my Dad taught me too. There were a great many more than a single lesson for us though. And today I'm in a borrowed hire car - so my driving reputation/trust must be alright.
With the right exit off the highway and a little blast down the road, I parked up across from this geocache. I could only imagine it;s been touched several dozen times this weekend by loads of geocachers doing the entire series. But just this one for me today. At around 11:35 I signed the logbook and replaced back as found. Quick and easy. Thanks for this geocache, carkisser & JSando

Found with Mrs Wackyweedo on a day trip to Mega. Mrs WW just wanted to grab this one of the series to say we’ve started. Dunno when we will be back, but one day. Looks like we will need a bit longer than the time we have left this afternoon. TFTC
Grabbed on our way home from a big day at the Whittlesea Mega. Series started with Mrs Haveanez!! We will be back!
I was heading up this way from the Mega and collected a few of this huge trail. This was the first of hopefully many stops. Cache found with no problems.
Had planned to do the first 15 to work towards a challenge back home, but the weather, long grass, soft edges and a bunch of cars racing to get out of the elements made this run a little more difficult than it would be under usual circumstances- had to settle for just the first 2 today. Perhaps another time.
Enjoyed reading your Description. It’s a beaut yarn. Thanks for sharing. Naturally we stopped and found a couple along this road as we drove.
Cache and log in good condition.
Thank you.

My third day of my trip heading to the Mega Event In Whittlesea Victoria. This would be Find Number 5 of 7 for the day and find Number 28 for this trip away.
Didn't have a plan to do the whole series so guess 1 is better than none.

Found this while attending the Whittlesea mega.
Depending on the log size and who I was with this is signed as nikid1, ND1 or TQ5 (team Queensland).
I had spied this series up north as it will help with a local challenge cache.
Was wondering if this would be doable with all the recent rain but with teamwork we could leave someone in the car where we couldn’t get over enough while others searched. One DNF for us the rest where found fairly easily.

Friday and there is so much to do around town, in the hills and in the adjoining districts, where to start. I will say that despite the changing weather conditions every 9 minutes, this has not dampened my look on this area. It is fantastic and such a great little main street and with so much going on. A plan was set for today and with my caching buddies off we went, chasing caches all over the place. There are some fantastic views from up in those hills. We got in some great caches today and covered a very large area of caches, thanks to all who put these out.
We started with some of the challenge caches and a drive around the area doing some labs and the Mt. Disappointment caches. We were unable to check out some caches due to works being conducted in the areas, so we will have to come back another time.
There were a few events on in the Melbourne areas, so we planned our times around those.
We did these caches as a team, which worked out great for our days plans. Thanks for the great caches today, we signed as TQ5 or as individuals at the events.

The goal was 400 in a day—a pretty big task. But with Mt Disappointment and the Power Trail, it was a possibility. We started strong and hoped to find a high percentage of this excellent series. Unfortunately, it was a Mountain of Disappointment as the geomobile did not appreciate idling and travelling at very low speed as much as we did. It let us know the gearbox was not happy, so we had to pull the pin after 130 finds.
We did have the pleasure of seeing a range of Australian wildlife, one roo, several wallabies and four wombats, which it pretty cool.
We apologise for the generic log, as we prefer not to write them. We have some time pressures and cannot write 130 different logs.
All caches were found in excellent t condition unless otherwise noted.
Thank you, carkisser & JSando, for this long series of Traditional caches. We will be back to finish the series in the future.

Twas the night before mega
With dark night and cold air
Off we go caching
late nights do not scare.
Kangaroos are of plenty
Five wombats we did see
How many caches will we get?
One? Maybe two or three.
Great company with Dromaniax,
Lucky we had a stamp
Plenty of caches were found here
Some good, some old, some damp.
Thank you

I was in Whittlesea again today on Mega business and while heading out into the mountains I stopped to grab a couple of this series to add to my list.
The cache was in good condition.
Thanks carkisser for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Took a little while to log this. My grandson's first geocache. With a few spare hours I decided to take my 3 year old grandson geocaching.
He had no idea at first what we were going but enjoyed a tromp in his gumboots through the wet ground. I found the cache easily and pulled it out for him.
He delighted in the contents and we placed a small car within.

Leaving Melbourne at lunch I decided to hit this trail and attempt my 150 in 24hrs challenge. Probably better tried on long summer days I had to take this opportunity on ny way home to Canberra with the right amount of time to myself to give it a shot. Tomorrow will tell the tale of success or not.
Took a bit of searching as the rock mentioned in the hint is quite small, but its there!

I have been intending to have a go at finding the caches on this iconic geocaching route for a while now. Today was the day, well to make a start anyway .. generally the coords and hints were spot on, unfortunately a small number of the caches we found were a bit damp but I still managed to make my mark…next time I will bring spares. We were surprised with the amount of people here, dirt bike riders, shooters 4WDers and campers… and of course geocachers. A few caches we had to give a miss due to muggle activity but got them on the way back. Apologies in advance for the generic logs! Thanks to carkisser and JSando for the series .. I can’t imagine how much work was put into the series .. much appreciated! We will be back to get the rest.. but maybe not on Easter weekend
TFTC we’ve made it back to number 1 with only a few DNFs. Thanks so much for these. Got us out of the house - we needed it
Found today often looked at these and thought one day but today we have other plans so will just make a start
Thanks for the series and placement
