GreenGecko 1 and I are now brick free without our camper and are utilising as more compact form of transportation.Definitely on my list, for the 8 loops or so Ive been needing this D/T to move to the next level. 52 loops now
Muggle65 and l are staying with Mum now and she has lent us her Clubman. I am a big fan after the gutless campervan we used between Christchurch and Invercargill.Always happy to find a cache which is not a trad.Thank you for the fun
The GPS wouldnt settle down so I trusted my instincts and found the large ammo box. Good to see this letterbox still has stamps, unlike some Ive found recently. TFTC.

**19,976**Well Mr Geckoh took another one for the team here, diving into the undergrowth to circumnavigate the tree. Cache soon located and then we set off to find another cache, as we are on a mission with our finds today. TFTC
And to think. This size was once common. Is this letterbox cross listed? I didn't find on atlasquest or phycokiwi.
Nachdem wir die Fhre genommen hatten und hier mal kurz ein Zwischenschlfchen gehalten. Dann den Cache besucht und diesen ohne Probleme gefunden. Danke fr diese Letterbox sagen die Knuffelbren.
Popped by to pick up the TB. All good and dry in here. Reattached the secondary string.
First cache in the morning not to far away from our campsite. Approach was easier than expected at first sight. The box and its content is in good condition. Missed the geocoin, but it might still be there.
Thank you for the letterbox

Didn’t take too long to work out where I needed to be (thanks to a geotrail!). Dropped TB. Heading to the ferry..

We are having a fun day geocaching adventure. On holiday with our cat Coco and she guards our motorhome while we play. This is such a clever hide and system, we're very cautious going down but so worth it. Great cache container a fav from us. Thanks for this cache GH6710.
From the Book Swap at Springcreek I ventured out to the riverbank to check out Hillocks Letterbox. Now this could be interesting. Uneven groung and lots of trippiong stuff. And then the cache is way down there. Finally got it out and tagged it. Thankfully lots of roots and stuff to help get me back on my feet. Cheers.
I have to get to Blenheim today so Zara and I are on the road early to snag some caches to get Signal through the Swamp Labrynth. This is my first venture out driving so will be an interesting day. By the end of the day I think I was moving slower than Signal through the swamp. But thoroughly enjoyed getting out and about.

After meeting the CyclicalCaching team at my previosu stop, we discovered we both had this one on our "to do" list so we headed here together before going our separate ways. There was never any doubt about where this good sized conatiner was hidden.
Teamed up with Bruce WW for this one and found it quickly and easily.
Nice spot for a cache, quite quiet.
Thanks for the letterbox!

This cache was a last-minute addition to our list of caches we wanted to do today. We were not disappointed with this cache due to its size. TFTC.
Yay found this cache after giving it a miss a few days ago, deeming the terrain a bit dodgy for my little dude! Signed both log books by accident but all is well, everything well protected. TFTC
My instinct led me directly to the right spot but I wanted to trust the coordinates and moved on without a proper search all way around. Came back from the other side through high grass once more and was delighted to see such a cool and big container.
Since my original plan of being in Auckland this long weekend is not possible, I decided to head South for a couple of days. Took the ferry from Wellington this morning, picked up a cheap rental, and off I went. I was targeting some specific caches for a personal goal as well as some fun mystery solves and some just 'cos. This was one of them. All good here, and found without too much trouble. TFTC
Much improved since the last time I DNF as I didn't have my snorkel with me . Thanks for the creative improvements. All in good order. TFTC GH6710
As promised, today I popped back out here and replaced the retrieval device to stop the container falling in if the stick breaks. Oh, and added a favourite because I have heaps.
Time for a few quick (ish) ones this morning before watching Miss 9 running cross country. Surprisingly dry considering the rain last night. I will pop back tomorrow to replace the retrieval system as I don't have any useful with me today. Grabbed the coin.
Have a good idea where this one is, but too wet to get down and dirty! Will save it for a drier day!
Sorry RockChick75, the cache was very hard to retrieve sadly, but it may just be that it fell in deep by itself.
Cache had fallen completely into the rotted tree hole, and required me to lie on my chest and reach in head-first into the rotten spider web hollow, not the best experience. Soon had the cache log signed and swapped my TB for a couple which haven't seen any of the region yet.
If the next person to visit here has a spare piece of rope or shoelace, please tie the cache back up to the wire hook on the left side of the tree.
It looks like the base of the hollow is about to give way, and looks very deep down there!!!

In Picton for the day. Picked up this letterbox cache on the way to the airport. Took me a minute or two to figure out how to get this. Then when I finally got it I saw something underneath that may have helped. However just as hard to put back helpfully for the next person as it was to retrieve. I did my best! <3 TFTC
Heading up for a family reunion in Masterton, this was a perfect opportunity to grab a few caches along the way.
Early start for me, I got very little sleep sadly. A problem with going from nightshift to dayshift I guess! Into the V though and I should be ok. Was looking at the map and saw a letterbox, so I was keen to make a find here. Didn't think I'd have too much issues given it's 5am, and I wasn't wrong. All fine onsite, unfortunately the stick was broken, but I still had no issues using it to get the cache a little closer for me to grab. Thanks for the placement.
TFTC , the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #2516

An evening jaunt along the river Bank, specially to find this cache. All good, glad there was an extraction tool handy! Dropped a TB. Tftc!
Been in the South Island visiting the grown up kids who are on Uni holidays. Travelling home but mechanical problems means an extended stay in Blenheim. Well, more time to cache. Happy to get my 25th Letter box and my Emerald badge. Nice hide and glad there was something to help retrieve it. Thanks
Here was a letterbox I thought I wanted a short de-tour to log!
When I found the right way to the box it was easy and logging was done without problem.

Finally our trip to New Zealand is real! We started with half a day in Singapore and then we continued to New Zealand before finalizing the trip with 2 days in Sydney.
We have been able to see a lot, fantastic nature, many different and new birds and also a "few" geocaches.
Thanks a lot for the cache - Greetings from Sweden!

TFTC. Picking up a couple of target caches that I didn’t have time to gather on my way into the outer sounds. Happy days. The river was looking so inviting.
Great cache.
Dropped of TB.

Away again on another 3 day mission with rustynz and Rebel98, This time Lyttleton, Christchurch, Greymouth, Punakaiki, Blenheim, Picton and Kaikoura are in our targets, mainly to collect the Geotour caches and to have a heap of fun!
Righto, our first cache for the day, we have stayed the night at a nearby camp ground and me and rusty are keen on getting letterbox caches for a challenge of ours. This happens to pop up.
Hard to get entry to the tree today, so much growth to walk through. Rusty cried out those lovely words: 'found it' and I made my way around the tree, not as easy as you might think! The cache was quite a reach but not high but low down, so on my stomach I just managed to reach it. Phew, that was close, rusty watched on and we signed in. Thanks for the cache, now we're gradually heading south back to Christchurch.

On a caching adventure with a group of Westies (rustynz, rebel98 & gorby)
We are leaving after an overnight stay, but make the detour to find this cache. What an adventure! never been to a spot so overgrown, so much wild fennel, and gorby stumbled over something dead.
I had to walk back up the road so I could get into GZ, and when I spotted the cache, I knew my arms would not be long enough, so gorby did the reaching.
Happy to find, thanks for the hide GH6710

Little detour to get this cache on the way further down south
Was not as hard to get to as I through it was going to be but I wood advise good foot wear
This was one of the few times when it was not raining
Despite the rain I had a good time down here so I'am planning on coming back down to the South Island in December 2020 or in the following January and this time I will spend at least two weeks down here so that I can take my time and see more of the sights and of course get a lot more caches
I'm down here in the Mainland the last time I was here was back in the late 70s visiting my cousin for the school holidays
This time I'm down here to two reasons.
Reason one is to visit a friend who has come up and visited me and Scoria on numerours occasions. Both Scocia and I have said they we both would come down and visit him many times but we never got round to it and now that scoria is marred it is less likely that we well both get down there at the same time to visit our friend. So I decide not to put it off any longer, so I called him up and arrange to come down to the Mainland for a visit.
Reason two is to get geocaches in the following four regions Marlborough, Canterbury, West coast, Tasman and Nelson targeting Mailbox Virtual and trying to get at least one cache that start with the following letter in each of the four mention regions these letter are A E I L O R T V this letters will allow me to finish off the cache The Spelling Challenge #5: New Zealand (Manawatu) GC5GQVY and any other caches that I collect will be a welcome bonus
Blackie the Sheep
Blackie is a work mascot that likes to travel so when one of us workers goes on a holiday he likes to tag along and have his photo taken at the various place that we visit .
Thanks for the cache
Had a couple of hours up my sleeve before having to head south this afternoon so decided to do a bit of caching around here. I was expecting to have to walk to find these caches but it turned out that I could drive to all of them which sped things up a lot. The GPSr was leading me to a place that matched the hint but there was no way anybody would put a cache there; instead I headed to a nearby object where there was another hint match and a clearly visible cache. My favourite container type! Signed log, TFTC.
A great 2 weeks of travelling the south island it's been amazing great weather only 1 half day if wind and rain nearly 500 caches found over the time incredible views tftc a quick find here I thought I had it sorted by the hint prior to approaching and yes I did but then it was an ahha moment tftc great place and area to explore hope to visit again the Sourh Island soon. No muggles around only traffic zooming by none caring what I was up to tftc signed the log and placed it back exactly where I found it. Interesting spot so glad to get another letterbox cache it was one of my goals to get some letterbox caches total I think is only 7 better than none tftlc
Exploring around some of the backroads. Quickly spotted. String attached to container is broken so a bit of leaning in to get the container. Thanks for the cache.
We certainly have not been down this road before. A nice view of the river from here and a good place to turn around.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Still there are routes and places in this beautiful country that are on the 'discover-me' list and want to be visited and explored. .
E.G. this is my first visit to Blenheim - what a lovely city! [^]
I come from a German wine-region at the river Rhine - feel sort of at home here !
So today (#22) with splendid, sunny weather was dedicated to strolling around in and around the beautiful city by foot (8km) and by car, picking up quite a few treasures in the area - just like this one:
What a cute and absolutely well maintained letter box [^] in this old-fashioned container, that I really like [:X]!
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and maintaining this cache and best regards from Germany!

Down from Northland, visiting the South Island on a 7 day caching and sight seeing trip. The main object was to find the last four CANZ caches, finish off my D/T grid, fill as many spaces as possible in my Jasmer grid and then concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, completed challenges and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close to any of our stopping points.
The trip started off on a good note, with our rental cache mobile being little more than a week old and only 109 kms on the clock. It certainly had a few more by the time we returned it..!
Day three today and heading northward from Kaikoura. Made it to Blenheim around lunch time and then carried on to here for this special cache type. A bit smelly near GZ with the remains of of goat skin etc nearby, but no trouble finding the good sized cache. TFTC

**This was 1 of 12 caches that was found by me on the 10th of 19 days in New Zealand.**
**Which also was the 63rd of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**
Since I found a lot of caches during an short time there will be an generic log for most of them.
If there is something special I remember from an specific cache I will write it instead of this paragraph.
*During 19 days I traveled from Christchurch to Auckland in an SUV, that i also slept in during most of the nights. 5.956 km of driving did it take to visit the 351 caches that I have marked as found in c:geo.*
*Earthcaches was my main focus during the stay. And I manage to visit 106 of them. So New Zealand is right now the only country where earthcaches are my most found cache type .*

The day has arrived, where we must return home. Canterbury Show Weekend is over. I am unsure how much geocaching we will do.
Yay a large letter box cache. My statistics love this cache. My travel bugs love it too. I dropped three travel bugs here.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

As we were urgently in need for lunch, this cache came in the right moment to guide us away from the highway to a nice spot. The cahce was found by Pratchetfan, with some difficultys when loosing our stamp in the high grass.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cahce!
Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cahce!
Letterbox Hybrid Caches are one of our favourites, especially since we got our own stamp.
After parking the car, I followed the small geotrail to the container, which was hard to miss .
Everything was perfectly in order. While cleaning up, I dropped my stamp and it took some rummaging in the high greenery until it turned up again. But in the end all went well.
We decided to stick around a bit and have our picnic lunch nearby.
Thanks for this Cache!

My last find on my trip from Te Anau to Picton. I couldn't go past a letterbox, and I had just enough time before ferry check-in to do the detour. All good here, though the weeds are getting thick. TFTC!
well hidden and made hubby make the grab as I didnt expect it to be where it was, but cache is in great order thanks for the letterbox and the nice sized cache
Down by the river is such a nice way to spend a bit of time this morning. It is a bit of a shame that there is so much old man's beard sprouting up around the place.
This cache was on my 'I really want to find' list. Parked nearby and carefully made my was to GZ. Spotted the cache immediately and soon retrieved it. Took a wee bit of effort to get it open. I do wish I had the grandkids with me as they would have had so much fun trading. I hope I will get the opportunity to bring them here some time.
Thanks for placing this one and thanks for the smilie. A favourite from me

I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Today I drove from Picton to Christchurch. It was a very interesting drive, as the road had just opened after last years earthquake, I could still see all the damages from the earthquake. I could actually see that some of the rocks in the sea had been lifted up, and I could see mountainsides that had just fallen down. It's just luck that nobody died.
About this cache:
It's always interesting to find letterboxes, and this was a large one, so I decided to stop here. It was not as easy as I expected, since the rope was broken, and I had to lie on my belly and crawl down to get it. So much for the shower this morning.... Did eventually get it up and saved a TB that had been there for a while. Tftc

Cache #4 on our drive from Blenheim to the Picton ferry terminal this morning. Took nothing, left nothing. We noticed a lack of rubbish in the area, presumably due to a diligent council? Tftc
Quick find this afternoon with eltee291! Awesome spot and a nice big cache! Glad I didn't have to climb down there. Lol! Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from BC, Canada! Thanks for the cache!
Quickly found today with hingis20. In NZ from Victoria, BC, Canada visiting family in Blenheim for a while and geocaching. TFTC
After replacing the batteries in the GPS and getting a bit more charge in the phone, I saw there was one more cache we could get on the river road and better still it lead back to the main road without requiring us to retrace out path. So off we went and soon arrived at stated co-ords. I sent hubby to the tree and he soon called that he had cache in hand.

Yes now right, where are we?
Fun road to drive up to GZ where the field of wild fennel greeted us
GZ is a bit creepy but what a cache, so neat - wow

At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After more than two years in Australia we took the chance to be so close to New Zealand, which is the farthest place on earth from our home. So we hopped over and will travel at least most of the south island in the upcoming months.
Of course I jumped in the bush from the wrong side and had to bash my way through quite a bit.
But found the box and left a fav point.
TFTC and greetings from Germany.

Wow, that is quite deep. Good that the container is secured as otherwise it would not be possible to grab it. TFTC
#2784. I had a short trip to Nelson/Marlborough to attend the funeral of a person who has contributed a huge amount to New Zealand conservation and ornithology. http://www.stuff.co.nz/environment/84986265/brian-bell-a-true-champion-for-wildlife-conservation
After the funeral I had time to visit a few local geocaches before driving back to Nelson to spend the night over there. This was the first cache found and was nicely placed near the Wairau River where I could watch black-billed gulls and black-fronted terns flying past. The cache was in the first place checked. Nice big container. Signed both the logs and replaced as found. Thanks for hiding it here.
I had to go to Picton, and had a little spare time on my way home, so a couple of unfound caches were the target. The rain has not struck yet, so that's great! Decent size trees there, and decent size cache container. I was following along the river. Off to the next one! Tftc. Tftc.
Today we mostly targeted PnG caches to help boost our July numbers to go towards a challenge in the North Island, The weather was sunny but still with a chilly wind so was always warmer in the car than out of it. We managed 57 cache finds and ended the night on a high note with a FTF in the fresh snow and dark at St Arnaud. Overall we totaled 107 finds for the weekend - blowing the challenge out of the water!
A nice quick find here following the geotrail through the ivy. Nice hide. Thanks for the cache

Out and about with jojo for some late afternoon caches. Just 6 today. Nice container this one. Thanks GH.
Out with Grandson 5 (PDH_NZ) to do some caching locally. Had fun here at the river. Nicely placed cache. Grandson was suitably impressed with its size and how it was hidden. SL. TFTC.

Ellie needed a swim and I needed to dodge my potential afternoon nana nap. My sober driver was all too happy to bring the dog for a swim and me tagging along for a cache was also ok. No trouble finding the great sized and well setup letterbox cache. +1 from me.
Thanks GH6710 for the cache.

One last morning to add to the trip tally before Picton and the ferry home this afternoon. A nice quick find. TFTC
In Blenheim which is our start for our 10 day holiday.
We the FastFrames are having a competition each day. Who ever finds the most per day wins then whoever wins the most days in the 10 days gets to choose dinners for a whole week
Today - Due to the rain and lack of caches found it was a 3way tie between - Nicola, Mike and Haylee.
5 caches today due to the rain - Jake 0 - Haylee 1 - Mike 1 - Nicola 1 and 2 which we didnt mark a winner on.
Between the rain i sent Mike down to get this one. Thanks for placing this as we love letterboxes

Short detour for a quick stop on our way from Picton to Motueka for New Year. Thanks for the cache.
I've had this cache on the "to do" list everytime I've been over here but somehow I haven't managed to get that far on the list. All done and dusted today thanks. TFTC #7686
First for Mrs SoBad for the day on a trip with Sidewaze. Sidewaze was the driver and Mrs Sobad the navigator - which works when she has a GPS to do most of the work. We were onto plan C - and it became D as we decided we couldn't bypass this one. Our caching instincts were good as we both thought that one spot would make a good GZ although the GPS wanted us to go further. Always good to find a larger cache, although no swaps with us today.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Out and about with Mrs SoBad. Not a terribly early start as it had been a busy week -- - but still early enough to bag, for me 41 caches, an 8 kilometre walk, a meal out - - - and a one hour "GIFF" session. - - - Hmm should we follow the GPS or our instincts? We tried the former but when that didn't lead to a sensible spot, tried the latter. A cool letterbox cache. Thanks .

The decision was made to get this one in the north island with the help of Facebook. Appreciate the care that has gone into this one very well hidden and maintained TFTC

Found on a stunning spring day on a scenic journey from Richmond to Picton, via Port Underwood Rd. Many thanks to all the COs for their cache hides that contributed to a most enjoyable days outing.
I was keen to make the short detour to find this letterbox. The last few metres of the road as it climbed up and over the stop bank was a bit hair raising as I couldn't see where the road was going and hoped that another car wasn't approaching from the riverside.
Nice easy find for StreetWalker (who seemed to find most of the caches today) and a bonus to find an ammo can. Picked up a TB.
StreetWalker volunteered to drive to the next cache as I was nervous about backing on the stop bank - a misjudgement would have disastrous consequences. TFTC.

#9984. Our main aim for the day was to find caches on Port Underwood Rd. We didn't make many detours, on the way there, but Troodles likes her letterboxes, so we took a short side trip to find this cache. The cache was quickly spotted once I got to the right spot; nicely done. TFTC.
Well that was an unimpressive start to the week that that was, Yesterday awoke early to drive north for my flight only to find it had been cancelled. The next 40 minutes spent trying to get alterenative flights and finally succedeing although arriving 3.5 hours late for my first appointment.
Today it was a case of get up very early, in a storm and drive to Picton for a 7.30am appointment, and with it all I found myself early (as dont really know the distances so had plenty of wiggle room as to time) so on that note stopped for a few caches that I had singled out while in the area.
This was the first of the day and pleased to start the day off with a find along a road and an area that I used to know very well
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt
