fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out for a long weekend away. Basing ourselves at Macquarie Woods, we ended up visiting Orange, Parkes, Dubbo and lots of towns inbetween.
Day 2 saw us head out from our campsite and rambling up towards Dubbo.....14 hours later we were back at camp.
Quick find here today.

20,273. Found with minniek and albida33 during a Canberra Day Long Weekend caching meander around the Orange/Parkes/Dubbo regions.
A plan was hatched for the three of us to head up this way for some quality caching over the 3 days. Day 2 and we headed off for further adventures. Next stop of the day - and this was found in a string of cache finds as we drove around Parkes. Awesome !
Thanks mooandroo !! One of my favourite finds of the day. FP.

I experienced my first Elvis festival this year and will definitely be back (without costume). The festival was a hoot with some very talented performers and a handful of enthusiastic (not so talented).

On a motorhome trip to Tasmania and picking up a few caches here and there along the way. TFTC
Stayed next door and visited the Henry Parkes Centre on our way through town. Cache easily spotted when looking in the right spot! TFTC!
Only when we pressed on deeper into Parkes that we realized that the Elvis Festival is on now! TFTC.
Yay, here for the festival with friends from the Gold Coast. Camping at the Showground.
Staying in Parkes for the night so decided to come and find this one after dinner. Cache was found safe and dry. Thanks for the great hide.
Staying nearby, I walked out before dinner to grab this cache while it was muggle free. Picked up the GCNSW TB.
Cool cache and on Elvis territory. Dropped TB. On a Geocaching trip from Canberra chasing Ciunties. Very smoky start but glad to have another county down. TFTC
Elvis has left the building.

Visited Info Centre & hubby checked out car museum & Elvis display which he thoroughly enjoyed. So good a cache nearby. Tftc
Our SES duties done, we decided to grab a few remaining smiles before our journey home. Having taken a photo in the same spot years ago with deployment with ses, I decided I needed to recreate it, and luckily there just happened to be a cache very nearby.
In town to assist with a SES course this weekend, bonus caching time was going to be limited with training and a five hour drive each way but finished up early enough to make sure at least one cache had an “Elvis” theme to commemorate my first visit to Parkes. Positioning ourselves to also tick off the obligatory photo, spotted a very familiar piece of camo (I’ve used this on one of my own back home), passing muggles were none the wiser that we were ticking off two birds with one stone.

Travelling around the Parkes area we stopped to grab this cache and admire the themed rhino. The clever hide was quickly found, TFTC.
Cheeky little find this one! It needs a new Ziploc bag as the log paper is getting deteriorated. TFTC
Elvis the Rhino was right next door to the motel where we stayed overnight. So it was logical that this was our first place to visit this morning. The Rhino is certainly unique and reminds everyone of the Elvis Festival in January each year. Then it was time for the cache hunt. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks mooandroo for the cache.
What a cool little cache.
It was brilliant finding another Wild Rhino and he's cool.
Thanks for the cache.

Hey! you know how you sing along to songs and get the words wrong.... It took half a century to realise Elvis' Suspicious Minds didn't start off 'Recorded a drought, I can't walk out...' Seems it really is, 'We're caught in a trap, I can't walk out ..' He didn't give a hoot about a drought! Thank you very much, mooandroo, great hide.
16th official day of our Australia Lap. With UMeHedgiE, Hippo380, the Great Patrini and Bellarina.
Random geocaching on our 4 month road trip with Tessplus3, Hippo380, The Great Patrinie (TGP) & Bellarina TFTC
Overnight stay in Parkes so got the bikes out to collect what we could in the city limits. The light was fading as I completed this cache so it took a while to pop up.
Well, thank you very much for the cache. Nice little hide although I initially thought it was a coffee thermos!
Nice rockin' rhino too
