25 Nov 2024 11:35am. The weather was Few Clouds 20C 74% 6 m/s . Find #9,083 for me. Found with PamJ during our stay in Millicent. We Victorians were barred from attending the Mega during the Covid period, so this is a catchup visit to Millicent and the surrounding area. Magnificent location. Thanks Nicko57 for your contribution to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Made the nice walk up here today, I arrived at the lookout to see the cache under the lookout so signed and replaced but this could so do with a fix up hereThis weekend Courtneyrose_ and I headed to Mount Gambier for Morgo the Geos 500th Parkrun. Today being solo heading home I made my way from Millicent to Adelaide finding unfound caches around the SE. Thanks for the cache
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent and caching in Southend, enjoying the rough coastal scenery. Thanks for the cache. ?? LNCU
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Millicent for a few days to grab some finds placed for the ill fated Mega 2020. There have been some newer caches and puzzles collected too. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
An afternoon of exploring around Southend with some walks, rock pooling, beach driving and a cache or two. Perfect afternoon! Easy walk here and great views. We then walked to Rainbow beach. Thanks for the fun and adventure.
Christmas holidays means caching trip with sir_spectre. This year we managed to attend 3 CITO's, claim 2 FTF's, visit lots of Adventure Labs and claim many smilies.Caches that needed some love got it, and we might of even hidden a few too.As a bonus I got to catch up with my family and some friends along the way. Thanks to Nicko57 from mogni .
Took the walk to the lookout. Nice views from here. Got the cache on the walk in and the lab stage at the lookout. quick find.Found with Mogni. I think this is the most changed trip in the planning stage that i have ever been on. The " original trip " was supposed to start on the 31st of dec but at the start of December life changed and the trip was now starting on the 26th of December and all accommodation that had booked cancelled and now see what else is free on the earlier dates. A major readjust of plans and got 1/2 the trip booked before the next curve ball came in to alter the plans again. More adjusting the plans again and i realized i could host 2 CITO's in 2 different LGA's in Victoria. What we do to qualify for Victorian challenge caches. Also i got my 20, 000 cache over in Victoria in this trip. It was decided in the end that the 4x4 was going to be the vehicle for this trip that way we could go and target all the caches that you never get, the ones down the sandy/rocky/dirt and forestry roads/tracks. We left Adelaide and headed to Casterton for a couple of days, then to Budj Bim National Park ( and saw 5 koalas in the camp ground high up in the trees ), then over Heywood, a night in Mount Gambier plus there attended the 3rd CITO of the trip before sending a few nights in Millicent and then finally home. Over 250 caches found plus 86 lab caches. Mogni also got her 11th D/T loop. I also got 3 more Victorian LGA's up to 20 finds minimum for another Victorian challenge cache. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
A lovely walk through the wind protected dunes to the exposed lookout. Up here for the lab adventure too.
Quick find.
Thanks nicko57
Quick find.

I was up here after an AL and by chance checked out to see if there was anything else up here. I have never been so happy to see a pen in a cache. I always carry a pen when caching. Lesson learnt
ALs are caches. Carry a pen
TFTC Nicko57. It was a real bonus after my puffing up the hill

A week away exploring the area with 2beez and our last cache for today as it is now starting to pour down. Thankfully a quick find at this lovely view. I do l love seeing the sea on a wild day.
Thanks Nicko57 for placing for all to enjoy.
Thanks Nicko57 for placing for all to enjoy.
Found during a trip to the SE with Team Waldron targeting Kingston, Robe, Beachport and Southend, with a few other cache finds along the way. Enjoyed the great views after a short walk up the sandhill. Thanks for the cache Nicko57!
A quick get away down south with the usual crew Mattycat and PerfectDI and Jack, another beautiful day to be out exploring this neck of the woods. Another stroll through the coastal vegetation and was soon rewarded with some fantastic views and a cache smilie as a bonus, cache was in great condition

Reminiscent of Southend on Sea (UK) - well not really. Took nothing. Left mini Campbell soup can.
It was evident why you brought us here as the views were once again, spectacular. We all set to and soon had the cache at hand but it was the views that kept us mesmerised. This is a great placement. Thank you.
The views here just don't stop. Rugged coastline and beautiful colours of the sea. This was a great place to bring us to with the placing of this cache. Thank you.
Out and about across several days with a fun caching crew that consisted of ChooknChunk, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, RoamingHowie, Papi4506, and GeoTurtle37.
The laughter, frivolity, cheeky comments, deep and meaningful conversations, drinking, eating, caching, dust, long grass, the spectacular Andrew (RoamingHowie also known as the human ladder) taking one or two or three for the team (geocaching certainly got him wet) , then there was Rob (Papi), his climbing skills and agility was second to none - amazing!! [^], and what Jo could do with a pole is impressive! [:X]
Life has been a little challenging lately (as it has been for many), but this geocaching trip instantly injected some nature, connection with others and different scenery into the mix (with the silliness and laughter) - just what the soul needed.
Thank you to those who placed the caches and then a special thanks to those who maintain the caches that we found. [:X]

I was out and about for some post Mega wind down time. After heading to Dimboola for the event weekend I jumped on the end of a convoy to Millicent. Today was a more relaxed day of finds with the group splitting and adventuring all over the place at times.
We toured the countryside enjoying the adventure. These were generally logged in individual names, unless space was an issue and it was VVR (Vic Vapor Rubs). The group today included Team Crackers, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37, micaparamedic, chooknchunk, Goodlook and myself.
A beautiful spot to look out at the views and for a cache!
Thanks Nicko57 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

After not being able to attend the GV2020 Mega, Chook finally made it here in Millicent with her fellow Vics: The Tritonz, Papi4506, Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, Roaming Howie and our honorary Vic GoodLook.
Today was Day 3 of our trip and the targets were Lake McIntyre, Southend and Beachport. This was our last cache before lunch, which we certainly earnt making our way up here. Well worth it though. TFTC Nicko57.

Now that’s what you call a 360’ view! Thanks for bringing here and no one else for miles. How good is that! TFTC
the morning is cold
and blustery
and wintry
the foul weather has scared off all other holiday-goers: there are men working the docks but apart from that, southend seems silent
so we have all the attractions of southend to ourselves
we checked out the point
wandered out to the rainbow rocks
walked up to the lookout
we enjoyed the walk and the lookout and the pretty spring flowers lining the track
but the lustre of the fine attractions fade in the rain and you don’t enjoy yourselves too much when you’re shivering encased in a raincoat
so we will soon retreat into the warm dry interior of the car
and get back on the road

Today was day 3 of a Millicent blitz with McLookers, Alansee, BeckNmonts, Maccamob and Rabbitto, all signed as Vic1.
Thanks to Nicko57 for the cache.

We found this cache today on our Millicent Meander - Day 3 in company of Maccamob, BecknMonts, McLookers, Alansee, and Muzza. Starting the day at Rendelsham. We signed the group as Vic1. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Found by Mary and David, in company with McLookers, beckNmonts, Alansee, muzza, and Rabbitto (signing as VIC1), at at 13:05. Day 3 of our trip, planned to tackle the many caches around Millicent, as we'd been locked down last year and unable to attend GV2020. Our thanks to Nicko57.
In the Millicent area for a few days, we are signing the logs as Vic1. Cracking views. Thanks for placing the cache Nicko57.
Over in SA again with a cut down group of geocaches compared to last time. We felt it was time this group of Victorians found some Millicent caches, as we were banned from the mega! We are signing the logs as Vic1. Thanks for the sometimes challenging caches Nicko57!
Awesome uphill walk with a mind-blowing view. Found with minphat and geokid Clancy. TFTC. TB - Private Ham - grabbed and on his way to QLD.
Not sure why we didn't come to this one last time we were camping nearby...
Well we came and were treated to a full 360° panorama view... great stuff!
Not too bad a walk up either.
Dropped a TB in also.
TNLNSL
Thanks
PS... Re-logging for The Science of Discovery points...

Day 5 an we have decided to do the city center of Millicent and then we have moved onto Southend. A long walk but an easy one on a well presented track. The views are great from up here. SL TFTC
First find of 2021.
Little time for finding today, unless you count the King George whiting we found in the bay. After our evening feast, JayG10 and I needed a walk to work it off so we picked this cache as our destination.
As we were running out of time we chose what seemed to be the shortest distance on the satellite map but we didn’t find that path, so just walked around the longer part of the loop to find the spot and the cache as described.
JayG10 suggested we return another morning to see the sunrise over town here so we will try to that.
TNLNSL
TFTC Nicko57, and thanks to you and Friends of the Park for your volunteer work here (and as a hider).

Down in Millicent for the "Used 2B a Geoventure" celebration weekend.
Highlight of course was the mini mega gathering hosted by the longest serving mega committee (thanks for all your hard work guys and gals)
( Hopefully we'll be back for the big one when it's able to go ahead )
Teamed up with Sebastbat, and JEM.
Whoa... that got the muscles working. A bit longer stroll than it looked. Great views. Good weight loss program!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache on this corner of our caching map Nicko57

Stay safe out there, caches and their hidey holes can be dirty!
wash your hands, wipe down your cache gear,
sanitise, exercise, even wear a mask if hayfever season gets to you and
cache the countryside safely distanced at least a roo or an adult brown snake's length apart ! ! !
Have fun ! ! !

The great Southeast Saunter with Anymules down to the Millicent area to find caches associated with the postponed GV2020 mega. But with leave organized and accommodation booked the caching trip was not postponed! [^]
Day 2: Today we decided to head westward taking in Rendelsham, then through Canunda National Park to Southend. Then it was east via some back roads and lanes to the Princes Highway, then back towards our Millicent base as once again darkness overtook us and it was time to call it a day. All up about 50 finds, 1 DNF and 3 non attempted as it was way to windy to be high up some of the trees.
Time to stretch the legs. A well maintained walking track took us up to the lookout where we quickly found the cache using the hint. Time to sit down at the lookout and admire the views. Great spot for a cache.
***Thanks Nicko57 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

This weekend, I headed to the Limestone Coast / south-east primarily for some cave diving, but also to fill in extra time visiting new places and geocaching. It was only an overnight trip, and so was rather jam-packed. I drove via Keith and Naracoorte to scuba dive Little Blue Lake on Saturday, followed by a visit to Port MacDonnell's west and night caching around Mount Burr. Sunday had me do another cave dive followed by geocaching around Mount Burr and Millicent, and then on to visiting Rendelsham and Southend, before driving back via Kingston and the Coorong. A weekend of mixed weather.
Today, after a morning cave dive, I met gridge98 at Mount Burr, and we had time to complete a few of the caches around the pine forests and *Native* series. We then travelled to Millicent for a few high D/T caches and the late lunch event. It was then on to Rendelsham and then Southend via Canunda National Park. A sandy 4x4 track was a bit of fun, whilst enjoying the coastal views as I headed into town. Not as nice weather as the previous day with on/off drizzles, but still an enjoyable day.
As it turned out, this was a much longer walk than I had anticipated. Trust the signage, as I didn't realise the path looped around. It still wasn't a bad jog up, and some great views of the coast and Southend at the lookout. This cache definitely took me a while to find, and in the end, it felt like the coordinates were 5-7 m out. It didn't feel like much, but when you have scrubby bushes all around, and the cache was hidden behind a bush, it greatly increased my search radius. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Nicko57 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Another great day caching with FelixII grabbing caches towards Southend.
We found some great hides and thoroughly enjoyed our day.
Many thanks to all the CO’s for publishing these caches to add to our enjoyment.
A nice walk to this one with great views al round
Thanks again for the hide Nicko57

Headed up to Southend today for some caching with Sylken. We took the 4x4 track in but the bitumen home! Managed to dodge most of the rain showers.

So glad there's a walking trail to the cache - it would be an intesting bush bash otherwise .
Nice view too. TNLNSL.
Time for some lunch [^].

We walked to the lookout losing the occasional hat on the way. Another great location in Southend. TFTC
There was a light rain falling and black thunder clouds above. The wind was enough to make me remove my hat rather than chase it down athe dune never to find it in the scrub.
The views abound from GZ. Southend should be called Southstart. Pic.
Thanks Nicko57 and clear skies from TeamAstro. ️ Cache the planet!

We travelled across to Millicent for a long weekend to try and collect a few of the puzzles before the Mega crowds hit town. We hired an AirBnB with Robmc and Betty Boo and managed a pretty good haul for the weekend.
Today we headed from Carpenter's Rocks to Southend for the day. We were occasionally interrupted by sleety rain but not for long. Great walk and great views but we nearly got blown away.
Thanks for contributing to a fun day Nicko57

Day two at Carpenter Rocks with Bettyboo3747 and The Morris.
Today was a trip through Tantanoola, with lunch in Millicent, and the afternoon at Southend.
A nice collection of caches in very changeable weather.
We thought this would be a lot closer! 100 meters to the walking trail, but they didn't mention the extra 700 meters to the lookout!
Nice walk though on a well maintained track.
Thanks, Robmc.

Enjoying caching in this area, the tracks are well maintained and the views are spectacular. This cache was found as per hint, thanks to Nicko57 for placing
Mr Tardis and Mr Scoobster were out for an afternoon of caching while the other team members stayed to enjoy Millicent's offerings.
This one took longer to walk to than we thought, but we had some nice views along the way. Cache was found by Mr Tardis without too much trouble.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Nicko57.

Based in Millicent, for a few days, with our caching buddies and fellow Victorians, the Suscoe duo. Today we enjoyed a coastal adventure from Beachport to Southend. The scenery was stunning, equal to, if not more impressive than Vitoria's Great Ocean Road in parts. Again places we would not have visited had someone not placed a cache there.
A FP here for the location.
Thanks 'Nicko57' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Suscoe was out and about today with our good friends Phetlern yet again for a day of fun caching and seeing the sights and sites of the area between Millicent, Southend and Beachport.
What an amazing area and we really enjoyed the coastal scenery with the sandstone and limestone cliffs and the sea coming in in waves.
It was a cold start to the day but with a clear sky early we had a delightful day with sunshine and an almost warm touch to the air later in the afternoon.
Thanks to Nicko57 for this chance to see the world from up here.
How lucky are we to live here.

Came back to Southend today to get the 2 remaining caches that we didn't get earlier in the week. [^]
Had just come back from finding the other one and parked the car and started our walk. On the way we encountered a baby brown snake that I just about trod on, but thankfully it slithered into the bushes.
Had a nice walk that got the heart pumping and were rewarded by a great view from the lookout.
Found the cache and again it had water in it which I tipped out and dried as best I could. Container doesn't appear to be waterproof. [?]
Thanks for the cache and the great views Nicko57.

Awesome views!! Had good fun on the walk to this one, then ran all the way back down to grab a new Pokemon in the car park! Cache had quite a bit if water in it so we tipped out what we could, but unfortunately didn't have anything to dry it all it with. Thanks Nicko!!

Heading over to Millicent & South End hunting the first of the Mission-GC souvenirs.
I had hoped to find all the caches around South End as I really enjoyed caching here back in 2010 and the beautiful warm sunny weather assured I enjoyed today's visit too.
Great 360° views from the lookout.
Thanks
Heading over to Millicent & South End hunting the first of the Mission-GC souvenirs.
I had hoped to find all the caches around South End as I really enjoyed caching here back in 2010 and the beautiful warm sunny weather assured I enjoyed today's visit too.
Great 360° views from the lookout.
Thanks
Took the long way round, took the right bend instead of the left. Great walk and photo opportunities glad we went the wrong way. Back tracked and went the right/left way this time. Didn't realise that there was a lookout that high, wow what a view. More photos taken.
Our second day caching the lower South East with CPWanderer & hevwalker.
We were joined by local & relative tallhorse.
An enjoyable walk to gz, a handy seat to have near the lookout.
Thanks for the hide & walk Nicko57

Found this cache with clare007 and hevwalker on an expedition to the south east! We had perfect weather on our trip …. Picking up some great Traditionals, multis and puzzles and a number of earthcaches. We also attended the Aussie Outback Event in Mount Gambier and local teams FT016 and Spanner111 took us on a nightcaching run!
Great views!!!! ........... Tall Horse joined us for this one!! A favourite!!!

Found on a weekend trip down to the South East with CPwanderer & clare007.
I called my sister, tallhorse, to invite her to come along to find the Southend caches...the local knowledge certainly helped when trying to locate the right path in to some of the caches here.
This was a lovely long walk...up & down with some great views...TFTC Nicko57

Went for a Monday drive to Southend and did this walk today to enjoy some more great views of our lovely coastline, we are so lucky in Australia always spoilt with nice views. We wandered up to Willichum lookout, dodging a bit of wombat doodoo, enjoying some lovely views on the way to the top. We think our photos of part way up to the lookout are more scenic than the view from the top, but still definitely worth the walk.
Thanks Nicko57 for the cache, signed and replaced safe and sound as found. TNLN

We set off on the walking trail in tearing wind and a few spots of rain. Thankfully the threatening rain clouds missed our location. Found the cache and then high-tailed it back to the car. TFTC
Good walk to get to this one with the reward of a fantastic panoramic view. Only time for 2 in the series today so I guess we will have to come back! Tftc Nicko
Don't believe the signage. It is not that far and the views are worth it.

2nd TO FIND We had no Football this w/end so it was a great opportunity to head out & find some caches. These new series along Southend were the main ones on our list. Pulled up & had a lovely stroll in. Longest walk so far but so rewarding. Again we signed log & then went up not far for a photo with two of the kids. TFTC
We saw these one come up Sunday while sitting in a motel in Adelaide so our mind was made up of which way we were going to go home.
This was the third in the series for us and was the longest walk of all three, the views along the way making the effort well worthwhile. The cache was another nice quick find right where the GPSr said that it should be and after again adding our name to a blank page we rehid the cache and went up for another picture opportunity.
Thanks again for another in this series.
