A wet walk up to this one after work today. Chucked the raincoat and slowly picked my way along the track. Rain was only light. Picked my way along the fence line down to this cache. GPS had me all over the place, but eventually spotted some unusual looking rocks. Creek flowing nicely with the rain. TFTC!
driving through baranduda,
through one of the new housing estates
at first, it seemed like a mirage in the desert
so clean and new and shiny in the dry dusty bush
all the promises of modern conveniences and prestige living
but
every house looks exactly the same
this housing estate could be at home in a new melbourne suburb or south geelong or any other growth corridor
cookie-cutter constructions
no character
no charm
individuality has been erased
all bow down and worship at the altar of uniformity
surely, there must be some way to inject some personality into these soulless structures?
or is it just easier to churn out carbon copies
than to take a chance on something unique and interesting?
out here there is the space for it
change it up
live a little

Headed out with Mrs Wright and the plan was to go for a quick walk and grab a cache close by.. we ended up grabbing 5 caches and just over a 5km walk.. I love a nice easy walk but not one with hills.. Cache found, log signed and replaced as found
Thanks team mvb.
Thanks team mvb.
After our great Nepal trek cancellation, we were now feeling a fair bit better, so we decided to go for a bit of a walk to see how if our fitness had suffered or not....turns out it had...a lot....
So we started our walk from this end, and our plan was to go around the other side, then up the MTB track to the top, then loop back down the gully and back to here...turns out that was probably not the best idea we had today...
Anyway, it was indeed a pleasant stroll to this one, cache number one, and after we signed our name in the log book, we wandered off buoyed with enthusiasm....

iPad was all ver the place here and just pulled the GPS out and the system kicked in and led me to the obvious hide - now to find the flattest way back
What a beaut Spring day to be out and about!
Took the easy track to this one until the last 100m or so.
We were graced with 2 big Wedge Tailed Eagles above us as we made our way to this cache. The Ez boys were very excited.
Found in the obvious spot.
Thanks for bringing us up here today. Cheers

Long overdue to catch up on my logging, have had some issues with my field notes.
I found this with Shelley0 on a beaut day around town.
She's the local, so knew about all these great walks.
Thanks again Team MVB

We left EW#3 and were undecided if we'd make it all the way to this one today - 2 kids wanted to push on but the senior pooches were huffing & puffing a bit after the vertical climb up from kurrajong! The newly published 'outer limits' encouraged us to head towards the easy trail & with a quick find there it seemed easier to continue on & find this one on the way back to the car. Amazing stroll along the saturated mountain - water oozing out everywhere! We didn't read the details that suggested veering off the track before the gully & found ourselves on the other side with a fence between us & the cache. We couldn't go OVER it (barbed wire), couldn't go THROUGH it (chicken wire), no way were we going back AROUND it (up hill) so we had to go UNDER it! Found a wombat tunnel & surprisingly 2 dogs, 2 kids & I shimmied through! Took longer than expected to find this one once @ gz. Very obvious if u step back and look around. SL & returned as found then continued down the gully as the water gushed off the mountain! Amazing lush green gully with water gushing into an absolutely chokkas dam overflowing out the bottom! We all had a ball exploring a patch of Baranduda today. Thanks for encouraging us to come over & have a look around. We'll be back...
Two options were presented to me from "#3"; venture down to "Kurrajong" or across to "Easywalk #4".
I decided that a gradual descent was better than having to ascend again this morning, so I carefully trekked down the hill and met the Eagle Trail then followed it along westward.
After leaving the track and heading as-the-crow-flies to GZ, the views toward the west and Wodonga were remarkable. Blue skies meant I could see for miles around.
Into the gully and watching each step carefully, I was soon upon the spot where the hide was situated. I'd imagine a torrent of water would pass through this valley when the weather was right.
A short search ensued, and the cache found.
SL at 10.30am. All ok.
A nice serene area to observe the birdlife no doubt. It was a bit scant there this morning unfortunately. TFTC and the series team mvb. Much appreciated!

Found today while breaking in my new Zamberlan Vioz.
This was number 3 for the day. Taking the hard way from all the "easy walk" cache's on to the next gave the boots a good work out, this was no exception.
Many thanks for the neat cache, in a cool location.

Thanks for the series. The kids had a ball and we all loved the blackberries!
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.
I like it

After getting the notifications for this series last week and being annoyed that I was away when new caches were published I decided on this glorious afternoon that I'd take the GeoDog for an "easy walk".
The last of this series, found at 530pm. My gps was a bit off, it said 8m at GZ. But there wasn't to many places it could've been hiding. Thanks for a nice afternoon walk in an area I had yet to explore! I'm going to return though!

Joint FTF 2.20pm
This was the last FTF still available and so we headed off trying to keep to the high ground. This is not recommended. The final downhill section wasn't good on the ankles. We then found the fire trail (this makes things a lot easier) and TPB and I headed in to find this cache. After a quick search we got lucky and had another FTF. Thanks again team MVB
