###TFTC!!###
Up here for the OZGeomuster Mega event ... this is the last day - after caching with someone until stupid o'clock this morning, and only getting half a nights sleep, I crawled out of my sleeping bag, packed up my tent/campsite, and dashed off to the farewell event down here at the Dam. After that, and having a long conversation with the person I had cached with the day/night before (and who handed me a bunch of TBs), I decided I might see if I could find all of the caches here near the dam, and along the road out, before heading off home. Seems a few of the ones I found have been archived since I found them ... I wonder why? (As far as I remember, they were all ok when I found them). I found a few near the dam, and the ones along the road, past the Scout camp, to the turn off ... By which time it was dark, so I headed off towards home, stopping in Appin for one more cache I wanted to grab on my way past ... then heading the long way home because - the night before - some idiot had decided it was a good idea to somehow drive a B Double past all the "no heavy vehicles" signs, around the hairpin bend, and wrecked the Gaurd rails when he got stuck on the bridge!
... and ... It seems several of the caches I found have now (for valid reasons) been archived ... and locked - so I can't log them ... ahrgh ...
TFTC - Parked when I saw cacher trail, grabbed

We had an enjoyable morning finding the caches along this road, after leaving the Mega. All of the caches were found pretty easily, with some taking a little longer because our GPS was a bit unreliable. Thanks for placing these caches - it was great to have a little trail to do on our way out. TFTC!
Found today on our way to the farewell event, we had a great time exploring around here.

Thanks The Bushies for placing this geocaches 7219 find for me. CITO was first on the list after listening to Cully's talk. The next plan was to find our final GEO art, followed by the dam lab cache. Anything in-between was a bonus.

On the last day of the Mega I decided to finish off this series near the base camp.
I had done about half of these yesterday, and late this afternoon finished the balance.
Drove towards the dam and started off from that end.

Hi.
I enjoyed escaping from the camp this morning to check out the dam. I wasn't sure if I'd bother caching but after a nice walk along the dam I decided why not. So I found 14/15 caches on my way back to camp. The one I didn't get was because of a picnic there. I also added a page of waterproof paper to a couple if cages with full log books.
Thanks for the caches.

It's MEGA weekend, this time up in The 'Gong.
I joined the usual suspects, Aquilus1, dty73 and Tankengine for a few days of merriment, labs, geoart and a few select oldies and cool D/T. I was unfortunately a little late to the party only arriving after lunchtime on Saturday, but everyone was so happy to see me and had had an absolute ball doing the lab caches and the jamboree power trail...I was kind of sad to be interrupting their fun.
Anyway.... so many labs, so much geoart and so little time... but we made very good time on Saturday afternoon, being joined for a few hours by Loci612 in the every so roomy car.
Fantastic dinner and then back to the trivia for fun times... with DIP & CHEESE! At the end of the night my big beautiful cosy bed was waiting for me untouched!
The Sunday morning was targeted oldies and goodies, then the completion of the geoart.... had to have that one saved for posterity on my map. I couldnt resist cleaning up the rest of the regulars on the Jamboree trail before a last minute night-cache-in-the-day with jm383.
It all had to come to an end so I started the long-enough-to-be-boring drive back to Canberra.
Thanks to all the organisers and CO's... I had a ball

Night walk during the mega! Lovely evening for it, flying solo. I need to get my find count up so I can log the mega as #5,000 and this series was going to be very helpful in that regard!
The afternoon light was spent heading down to cataract dam and collecting all the caches along the way. Very impressed with the dam itself but also with the long standing history of the scouts here.

Ju and I headed back to Cataract Park from the flash-mob and started on this series, before she had to be back on-site to sing. As a Scout and now a Scout Leader (and Ju being a Rover and now a Leader as well) it is great to see this series.
The 14th Australian was my Jamboree as a Scout and it was a big difference from the camps I had been on before. The two things I remember the most from this Jamboree was that wearing shoes that did up with the Velcro straps (as was the trend at the time) were no good for Challenge Valley when the mud got into the Velcro, it stopped working.
The second is the song 'We Built this City' by Starship which I will always associate with this Jamboree. Once we arrived an started setting up camp I got my 'Ghetto Blaster' out and this was the first song the Jamboree radio station was playing. TFTC

Found while enjoying the *2019 OzGeomuster - The Gong*. OCW *Throsbyonchurch* who found the cache previously. As we were down here for the lab cache we stopped to sign the log for me. TFTH.
The GeoFamily and I are off to the Gong for the OzGeoMuster. We got up at sparrow flatulence, and set off in the dark. Mrs Mister JD uses Mister JD with me, but the kids have their own ids, AM_MMJD and Su_MMJD. Dawn didn't appear before Goulburn. We ate at the dreaded Maccas, and on we went to event GZ and about 8:30, where we met our geocaching friends. Hugs, chats, milling about. Then off for a day of geocaching with our mates. Day 1, we collected four and had a great day. Today we've arranged to meet up with our mates at the flashmob event at the lighthouse. and here we all are.
One of my geocaching projects is to collect 500 "Regular" sized caches for a challenge, so, after the temple, I took off up the mountain for he regular sized caches in the Jamboree series. The GeoFamily went to the beach and the kids made new friends. I enjoyed these caches. Well placed and well hidden. Everything is in pretty good condition. Some of the camo needed replacing, which I did whenever I could. I signed for the GeoFamily as well (MMJD), and in the event repeated them all on the following day with our mates. Sorry these logs are a bit generic, I've caught the plague today and my memory for the hides is a bit fuzzy.
Find no 6 of 12 today.
Thanks, The Bushies

Unfortunately we did so many in the one day I haven’t done individual logs for all of the caches but know they were all in good condition. Thank you for putting these out, made for a fun day.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
20 years of geocaching worldwide.
20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

While attending the OzGeomuster Mega Event, we took some time out from catching up with many of our friends and socialising to find a cache or two.
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you The Bushies for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy
