Logs
This cache was apparently a D3.5 but upon searching for it found it easily. So not much of one. Signed log. TFTC
Someone has had a good clean out of the grass. It still took a while to find the cache, though. I was worried about the wasp nest. When we finally found the hint item and the cache, I was glad to see it wasn't too close to the wasp nest. Thanks for the cache busy paws.
Well that was fun dodging the wasps as they come and go along with a dive bomb to give you a gentle reminder whos house it is..thanks to the last finder for all the weeding and clearing out made my life a tad easier but still took a while and yep its there good luckummm
Return visit after a DNF. Had more time to search this return visit, and discovered a very overgrown area (with hemlock), an active wasps nest, and finally the cache under a layer of vegetation; TFTC
A speedy hunt with Starjammer and HRDentist, found thanks to the owner log prior. Nice hide, TFTC
Got it! Made myself stand still and look instead of charging around. Geocaching is showing me lots of lovely Heathcote/Ferrymead places I never knew about. Found with LittleTan . I deserve an ice cream!
Thanks Busy paws for checking on this cache!
Found on a cold grey afternoon with Snugpup after a short hunt of the "ones"
The remains of the steps are certainly still there.
Cool spot

Had to check this as last cacher to DNF is thorough. The area has over grown substantially. The cache is all safe and dry and rather than archive it, I have increased the D rating- The stairway is just visible so it's a bit of a grass bash really, Currently the lower path is awful, smelly, muddy and squishy. Go the top way until things dry out.
Was here over Christmas with the cacheletts but it was drizzly and they were getting bored..... This time just me and my Partner in Caching Mumbo11. Found it pretty quickly....... TFTC
Funny what you find hidden in the long grass. I found a tv earlier this morning.
Lovely little find for this Nth Canty gal while snatching a couple of games of mini golf with my teenage son. TFTC!
Was wondering where the stairs could be....then they were right at my feet!
Many thanks busypaws.
Nice walk on my minibreak in Christchurch.
Many thanks busypaws.
Nice walk on my minibreak in Christchurch.
First of five located late today on a walk along the nearby track. The coords on my iPhone didn’t take me directly to the cache, so after a bit of a look around, and with no hint available (sadly), I read through some of the previous logs. That helped immensely and the cache was then a reasonably quick find. #3452. TFTC.
Until the viral lockdown is lifted, my geocaches are disabled. Any logs will be deleted. DO NOT Geocache currently.
Back in the big city for a few days and have a date with low tide later in the day so decided to park up and go for a wander ....
That was Interesting had to dodge children riding ponies and people teeing off... luckily the cache was an easy find tftc

This must be Busy Paws easiest cache: obvious so quick find in a nice spot. TFTC
I'm in Christchurch with my wife who is undergoing surgery in Christchurch Hospital and what better way to take my mind on what's happening to her than to go geocaching. I was actually down here with her about a month ago for a similar operation and it was then doing the Thompsons Track crossed my mind. I passed on it then, but when I mentioned it to a fellow cacher back home, he said to get in fast as the CO is about to archive them due to the high maintenance burden. I wonder if he has considered adopting them out.
WooHoo I've recently finished it. It took me 6h 40m with an average of 5m 30s each cache if you include the three DNF's I looked for. Not a record breaking event but I'm happy considering I was flying solo. Found 70, DNF'd 10, but in retrospect the stats should have read 71/9. My best day so far (previous was 60) and I'm not finished yet. I intend to head back to the city in time for afternoon visiting at the hospital picking up as many PnGs as possible and then go out in the evening to get enough for a century.
I decided to head out to the east of the city and work my way back to the hospital in time to visit Mrs Kiwimykl, then carry on towards the west until it got too dark or I got my century, which ever came last. I parked nearby and made my way to GZ and my heart sank. It appeared as though the gardener had been here recently with a weed whacker and that is not a good thing for caches. However there was something that screamed geocache in the corner of a step and when I checked it I got another one for the numbers.
TFTC busypaws and I have no idea what the original purpose of the stairs were for.

Another lunchtime caching mission and walk today. Another great day to be out in the fresh air. Quickly spotted the cache today. Thanks for the cache.
The weed whacking evidence was still there and was predicting some trouble. However it was quickly located. Thanks
Found it. Unfortunately the area had just been ‘weed whacked’ so it was even more hidden
Out for a lovely day with busy paws who was doing a check on another cache in the area. So Mr Coconuts3 and I went off to find this one. My guess is maybe a lovely old homestead many moons ago was heaven. Signed the log all nice and dry. Thanks for bringing us to another new area we had never been too and the cache busy paws.
Did not manage to make it quite to Heaven but I did get to the top of the stairs and found the cache. Strange place for some stairs and unsure what may have been here many years ago. Tftc
Out walking the dog early evening & managed to tick this one off the list. TFTC
#14 TFTC was a bit plain in sight so rehid as per coordinates on phone.... careful might a hit to rock n roll
Interesting, someone spent a bit of time on this creation and must have had a reason for it. Oh well, it holds a cache now so it has a purpose in life! Cheers
A cold day (well, it is winter); I had thought of going for a drive but then thought better of it. Saving the caching for the next lot of challenge/ souvenirs, starting tomorrow!
This one wasn't too far from the car!
Thanks for the cache, busy paws.

What do you do when the wee ones want to go ice skating, and you don't, and you have two hours to kill? Throw the bike on the back of the car, and come out to cache! Had a nice day out riding this track. The train rolled by as I was looking.

Found on a dog walk.
My second visit here - a usual scene for a BP cache. I didn't even log a DNF from the first time.
Cache got us walking in circles this time too. Until, turned out that we had been doing exactly that - walking in circles all around it. There's been quite a few BP caches where my coords disagreed with the posted ones but for this one it was actually spot on in the end.

GPS took us further away from the staircase than it should have. Forgot pen so have taken photo instead. Text.
Lovely spot - we live close by but have never been here! Quick find by the geokid. TFTC
I was standing in the middle of some long grass, looking round and thinking - what are they going on about. Then I saw them - very cool and had a good chuckle. I enjoyed this one a lot thanks busy paws. TFTC # 11,763
Found in the second place I looked. All in good shape. Lovely warm day. I presume the steps were once leading up from a boat landing to another form of transport - probably a branch rail line? Now it's an overgrown backwater. Just a few muggles jogging or walking their dogs. The views are still gorgeous. Thanks for the cache.
Easy find. Charlie the Dog found it for us. No idea where stairway leads to. Tftc
Fun one for the kids. Great spot as it wss close enough near by foor the kids to find it on their own!
