Day 5 of my 6 day trip to Dunedin to attend the Mega and clean up all the puzzle caches solved over the last few years.Todays journey took me around Dunedin a bit and then hit the airport area cleaning up the puzzle caches here before heading back to Dunedin.Thanks for all the puzzles, caches, find, frustration and enjoyment.Spent most of the day with buttels. Logged as combinations of B&C.Found under rock by the river

Found on arrival the river look a little worse for wear though.

Day #11 Dunedin - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip.Its the start of the Mega! The rain has arrived but it hasnt dampened our spirits. Cache on. Looking forward to exploring the town and activities today. Posums and I teamed up again for another day of adventures.Time to complete the plane Geoart. I had some homework to do on these ones. Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 11: MEGA!!After registration, picking up goodies and catching up with a few cachers, despite the rain, a few of us (Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick, RoamingHowie & Posums) headed out to find the aeroplane geoart. A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island.So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in last Saturday after a bit of a delay.So a drive Oamuru to Dunedin yesterday and I had finally arrived atMega central Dunedin.So Day 8 of my Mega NZ trip begins and I have teamed up with Roaming Howie, OzHockeyChick and Geoturtle37 to have a fun day chasing aeroplanes around the country side and picking up any others that are in the area.The weather could not make up its mind today it was either overcast, rain, wind, fine and even more wind but plenty of laughs were had along the way.We could just make out the river from here.Thanks Hall-way TFTC.

Day eleven of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Today we spent around Dunedin.We spent the morning doing some of the Plane Geo Art, had lunch at Outram, then returned to the city to do some of the older caches, with a few others in between.Finished the day with the event, and Indian take away.I think the highlights were the ones on Allanton - Scroggs Hill Road, the views were spectacular.Interesting information about a great looking river.I looked at the wrong rock while Lady Morris found the correct one.Thanks, Robmc.

Day 11 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and our second full day in Dunedin.Our intention was to target the Plane series and hopefully find at least half of them before the hoards and the rains arrive. We did pretty well and then after lunch headed back to town to tackle some of the oldies.What a very pretty spot.Then onto the event.Thanks for contributing to the fun Hall-way

Great views!What an incredible day it was. This morning Kittykatch, Joolay, barb2e and I cached our way to the airport. Here we met up with Binliner to attack the Plane/Jet series, which we had solved before leaving Australia. We found every cache that we tried for, and this was one. The logs were all signed CCD (Canberra Cachers Dunedin). Unfortunately a couple of us forgot what day it was and used the incorrect date for a while, but once we woke up (literally) that error was corrected. A huge thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches. You add so much to our game. ??

We are in Dunedin this weekend for the Mega with Stik-a-Crane, UncleSam, KeyLev, and NZTravellers. We have signed all logs as team SEAC to save space, especially as we know this weekend will be busy for all caches. We have landed, picked up the cars and the plane geoart and any other trads, multis, or puzzles we have solved are the targets for the day. We have had an amazing time and had very few DNF's for a very successful day with lots of laughs and memories made.

Day dawned fine and dry after some rain through the night so was looking good for our plans for the day. A great morning spent collecting all our solved puzzles for the plane. Started at the airport with Smittengranny after meeting Binliner off his flight and then we teamed up with Joolay and Kittykatch. Had no problems with most of the finds and certainly enjoyed a few stops at the Outram cafe. Caches signed as CCD for Canberra Cachers Dunedin. Thanks for all the caches in this Geoart and the extras we collected while on the roads.

After arriving on an early flight, teamed up with smittengranny, barb2e, Joolay and Kittykatch for an enjoyable mornings caching session around the airport region. I've cached in this area before with geohoundandI, but today I'm with maplerosenz. We were grateful for a nice big parking area close by so that we could both get out to look for this cache. She checked out a large, obvious place, which looking at the geotrail, whoever we are following from the airport also checked out. I made my way to a slightly different spot and found the cache.

Back home in Taranaki after a massive 5 days at the Dunedin Mega with MrMuggleNZ and its time to start logging my findsall 226 of themso wish me luck. Only 2 DNFs the whole time we were here so thats a testament to the dedication of the local cache owners and their maintenance prior to this event. Nice views at this spot. All good hereTFTC

Found with NZDi on our southern adventure heading for the Geo Toroa. Earlier in the year a group of us Blenheim cachers started solving puzzles around the area in preparation for this weekends Mega. The aircraft geo-art was part of that project. Today, with NZDi as driver and recorder and myself as navigator, we made the attempt to clear them out. We started out just before 10.00am with a DNF at #58 which didn't bode well for our mission. We finished all we could around 5.00pm. We are logging in the order the caches were signed. Caches weresigned in full or abbreviated to ND + KM as space would allow. We noted other cachers who logged today and even met up with others (twice). We were impressed with the accurate coordinates, the helpful hints (where given) and the well maintained caches. These logs are going to be pretty generic but I'll try to comment on some of the more memorable caches where appropriate.Our fifth and final trad of the day while would eventually take it to 66 finds, and no DNFs. FINALLY, and with humble apologies for being so late, I am catching up on my logging. On the day I was thinking too much about having just found my 10,000th cache.Day 4 of The Wellingtonians are in Dunedin tour with TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri, as well as TaybeeNZ who decided to have a few days of his South Island tour with us. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, wherigos (thanks to the Seagnoids new caches on the Wainuiomata Hill road in Lower Hutt), a certain jet and hopefully a certain bird. Of course, there will be days of laughter, no doubt at my expense ??????.During our time here, all found caches were signed as MINT, regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 5 of us hadn't found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Hall-way.

Out and about on day 10 of my South Island Tour and day 4 of "Wellingtonions Gone South: Dunedin Edition" with NZ_B, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri. The target of this day was cleaning up the plane. All logs signed as MINT. TFTC

A group of friends have traveled together to Dunedin to collectively target a whole bunch of caches, primarily because of their value in terms of Jasmer Grid filling, or for certain Challenge Caches that we have elected to try to achieve.M.M.I.N.T.T are Mr-Mcgoo, matagouri, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, taybee nz and TwigNZ. Some logs were signed this way, some were signed as M.I.N.T for expediency, and some (mainly Challenge Caches) were signed with individual names.Day 4, our last day before heading home this evening, and the main focus of our day would be hitting the Plane geoart series. We had no idea whether we would get to complete it today, but having met the CO for a drink last night we hoped we would. Doing that would bring us in the vicinity of other caches such as this one, and we thought it would be rude if we didn't stop to find these too.This was effectively a quick park 'n' grab. No problems here, so everything was replaced as found once our team name was added to the log.Thank you for putting out this cache for all to find.

Day 4 of the Wellywood Adventure to Dunedin. The trip had been in the planning for a while - especially to get Sutton Lake, the Old School Challenge and other personal goals. The backup plan had always been - "lets get the plane solved in case we have time". Today was that day and all other caches in the vicinity such as this were quite naturally on the list Thank you for the caches to enjoy as we travel these roads Hall-way. I'm on a geocaching roadie from Whangarei to Dunedin. Geoarts were the main target of this trip.

In Palmy I got 2/3 of a shield and 2/3 of the 20/20 series. Wairarapa we achieved 100% of the M and some archived skindo challenges. Wellington I finished off the kiwi bar 1 dnf. Nelson I got my BGSc challenges. In Christchurch it was family time. Dunedin was another sucess with 100% of the airplane geoart. Then I flew home to say goodbye to my son heading to Denmark.

It was great to have my friend Supernanny come along on the trip for company. We had a wonderful trip and fantastic weather. I'm just finishing off writing the massive backlog of logs.

Todays target was the nearby geoart. No time for a river walk today. Pretty sure Helen put a new piece of waterproof paper in this one. Like these types of hides, thanks

I'm part of the Southern Flight Crew today. Just as we pulled up we noticed a guy with his two dogs over the road who was gearing up for a spot of fishing. I hope he caught something other than a cold, brrr it was a bit nippy. TFTC

Grabbed while out on a flight grabbing the plane art. A young guy pulled up behind us, initially thought he was taking his dog for a run, but then proceeded to set up his fishing rod. Didn't seem bothered of our actions.

We pulled up here and just as we jumped out to head for the spot, a fisherman appeared. He was very chatty, seemed to have all day to talke as he had already caught 2 trout and had broken his rod somehow. As he put his gear in his vehicle I dodged in for the find, retrieved, signed and then waited for another opportune moment while Debsnz kept him in conversation to replace the cache. Whew. Thanks Hall-way.

We wondered what was happening here as there were two cars already parked up and we soon discovered that this is a good spot if you are into fly fishing. I learnt a bit about fly fishing while Spoonz2 did the sneaky find and replace with the fisherman was none the wiser. Found with Spoonz2

My turn to do a little safe cracking. Some jewels need returning to the vault. Why this took two goes and why! I'm not leaving until it's found. River a bit coloured today. TFTC

*Winter time dots are thin on the ground for June soon to be rectified with an annual caching trip and another push over the border ploughing new and old fields in the Strath Taieri of it's green dots turning dozens of dates from one singular shade of green to a multiple darker green on the 'finds' tableau*. Some of these gravel roads traveled are wery familiar from a previous life visiting the outlaw old crone we outlived last century in Mosgiel and visiting a new Oma this century in Dunnas. In thirty years nothing much has changed in Outram Riverside. This cache took a couple of looks. Parked at the gate and after first go at the hint, walked to the big cache nearby and on return broadened the search a couple of metres before camo cache and inner cache were found and logslip signed. Someone had placed the black thing inside a baggy to preserve the goods and all was in good condition. Cache returned to the spot we found it and carried onto the next find. Thankyou for bringing us here, these caches are a wee bit lonely now the locals had banged them and only sharing the riverbank with a fishing muggle further away.

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. I Had parked my snail shell up at the Showgrounds in Mosgiel.

It could be said that it is a rock on a rock.[:o)]
