I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
As per other entries, nothing there. Obvious where the hide was, but after 20 mins searching, with no one around we gave up.
Classic post tramp caching....hobbling around, GPS in one hand, icecream in the other
not the first cache I have found in this wee park, great to see it has another.
Cheers and thanks for putting it there,

We crashed at Mount Somers Holiday Park, during our drive north to Kaikoura. Lovely place to stay and in the neighbourhood were three caches. During an evening stroll I found them all three. Thanks for the hide!

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 2 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. Today I decided to venture around Mt Somers and Methven area to get the required numbers.
I started in Mt Somers metropolis.
Cheers for the cache.

Out for some caching along Thompsons Track with Rincewind3 & Not Manlyjack, Nice to tidy the area up of some caches again. TFTC.
Tftc. First one in a while. Didn’t find the trackable it says should be in there.
We'd come up this way to try for a FTF on the new cache at Manuka Hut. Sadly it was a DNF instead.
The next part of the plan was try for a few other caches around Lake Heron, then camp up for the night and do a spot of fishing. It was nice camping here, though the fishing resulted in another DNF
Those caches we *did* find, such as this one, we signed BRN (Bo& bronnie, Rincewind3, and NotManlyJack). Even the ones Bo found years ago!
This was a quick find (a bit exposed, we covered it properly), in the second circle we spotted. Should've followed the GPS!

Sir Belac and I were on our way back to Christchurch after a night at Manuka Hut and decided we deserved an icecream so stopped at Mount Somers. I had promised him no more caches as he was keen to get home to his parents but how could we leave this one when it was so close to the car. Initially I thought we might have a way as there was a family having a picnic close by however they were nicely placed behind a tree so we were out of sight. Thanks team_macdonald

Well the triped to the coast started out great, right untill the Flat Tyre, and the wheel nuts that had been tightrn with a rattle gun, that we could not undo, but one call out new trye and 4 hours and $388 we were on our way again, stll manged to get 50 odd caches for the day, many thanks to all the cache placers - Bitsprayer
While visiting from Ohio on the *Viking Orion,* I took an excursion out to see Mount Sunday and the fabled homeland of the Rohirrim. On the way back from that, we stopped here for the second time (lunch break) and my tour guide, who had spotted me searching for a cache earlier in the day, asked to accompany me along while I looked for this one. When we found it he thought this was the coolest thing ever and vowed to try it for himself as soon as he got a chance. Congrats, your cache may have brought in a new player! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
Quick find tftc, nice to see someone is geo caching today on Christmas day and found the same cache,
Greetings from Texas! We are enjoying Mount Summers on day 13 of our 19 day visit to New Zealand. On our way to Mt Sunday we picked up Gandalf! TFTC!
A very pleasant stop, on a great day out touring inland Canterbury.
Dropped off a TB picked up at the Wellington Mega Event, to resume its travels.

Today we made a trip to Mt. Sunday. On the way we searched, found and logged all other caches, too. The weather was fine, not too warm, a little bit cloudy, and in the mountains there was a heavy wind.
Almost no muggels could be seen there - but a lot of beautiful landscape and snow covered mountains.
Thanks to team_macdonald for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Welcome 2016 (Canterbury). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Had a wee job to do in Mt Somers so made the most of it. Great spot to stop for lunch. Quick find with the thoughtful clue.
Quick find. Dropped off a TB to travel. Thanks for the cache. Used to stay up at Lake Clearwater a lot 20 years ago pre caching. It's a long time since I've been here. #2831
Thanks for bringing us to this delightful spot. Lovely autumn colours right now. A favourite added, thanks.
#15346. After a trip to Woolshed Creek, it was time to head back through Mt Somers and find this one last cache to finish caching it out. Two muggles (and a doggle) were at a nearby picnic table. Luckily we weren't in their direct line of sight. Cache took a little bit of finding as it had moved away from the hint object a little (it was replaced right next to the hint object). Afterwards we celebrated with an ice cream. TFTC.
After spending a couple of days exploring the area, it was time for StreetWalker and me to return to Christchurch.
After polishing off some unfinished business along Ashburton Gorge Rd, we stopped to find this last Mt Somers cache. A nice wee park, though the yappy wee dog was annoying. Cache was a wee bit further from the hint object than expected, so replaced it so it would be easier to find. Now to get an ice cream from the nearby store and try out the giant picnic tables. TFTC.

Quick find after a night at the camper van site and before we depart for Christchurch airport and home. Lovely pub and site TFTC
All our adventures in this area finish with an ice-cream at the Mt Somers Store. With kiwitien and reshamfiriri. TFTC
Found with kiwitien and kakariki. Compulsory ice cream stop after a days walking. TFTC

Our first visit to New Zealand, our fourth day.
Our daughter really wanted to do this walk. After six hours I was back in the parking lot, but I was not at the top either. At 1188 m was over.
My husband and daughter made it to the top.
Afterwards we great hosts in the village. Thanks Daralyn and Gary.

Soaking wet looking for the cache in cyclone gita was a bad idea especially when my compass was going crazy! Found the pencil in the garden too which was worrying but found eventually, trackable is missing but I think someone has it and couldn't log.
Happened upon this beaut little park while looking for a shop, definitely some pride in this town. TFTC
Just joined geocache cool to find this not far from were I live, definetly a fun one to find.
Heading off for a fishing trip up at the Ashburton Lakes, Caching along the way TFTC
Day 1 of our 6-Day End of the Year caching trip to Dunedin. It's School Holidays so no need to worry about the school times but there was an elderly lady sitting on a bench across the grass so we took a wander and took some photos of the cool stone art and she quickly left so we could search. I really liked this one (see photo) that reminded me of the Princess and the Pea. Left a TB. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies today. Happy Caching
A quick easy find once we found the correct circle. We were impressed by the massive wooden table top nearby. TFTC
Easy find with the poetic clue. That makes my first 100 and a lovely spot for it. Thanks for the cache.
After a mission at nearby Lake Clearwater with BCD it was time to head home with a quick stop here along the way. Easy find and still well hidden. TFTC
Cache was rather visible with its red clips, so I left it covered with a rock. TFTC team_macdonald.
Travelling from Mount Cook to Christchurch. Quick stop here for a few finds. Nice park
Lovely day on the long weekend, brought the family and had ice creams from the nearby general store. TFTC.
Stopped at the store for an ice cream and hey, there's a cache nearby. Recommend people drive east down the road from the store and view the 'carved' hedge. What does the wording say?
Found while having a well deserved stop at the local store for an ice cream. We are on our way home after a weekend tramping in the Mt Somers area. Nice to find a cache here too.
Sorry for the late logging it would seem I haven't logged anything since getting half way through logging our finds on our holiday way back in May.
This cache was found after spending the weekend with friends walking the nearby Woolshed Creek walkway. We spent the night in the hut which was very popular and full.
By the time we got here the boys had earned their ice cream treat.

Mum May comes after April why hadn't these been logged?
mmmm yummy ice cream.
mmmm yummy ice cream.
I enjoyed the walk (don't tell Mum) and loved the ice cream even more. Not too hard a find.
No complaints from me about stopping for yet another cache when I know I'll get an ice cream too.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!
