Thanks for organising, terrific turn out

Attended with Angel and Georgie the geohound. I enjoyed the banter and meeting of old and new cachers. Sorry we could not stay longer. Thanks for organising Champs!
#4075 - 17:00; After a day out caching along the CO's CCT power trail with Sol de lune and fitzy_65, it was nice to wrap up Leap Day catching up with the many cachers in Canberra for the day. Met some familiar names and was happy to meet some others who I can now put faces to, along with some newer cachers in the region and some from interstate who just happened to be passing by. Great to see/meet you all.
I still had it in mind to try for 100 finds for the day to join the other two in three figures and regretting my earlier foray along the CCT which had put a handbrake on my numbers for the day. That was until I had cooled down a bit at this event and the appeal of a hot shower and a cold beer kicked in, so that plan was hastily shelved . Thanks for organising the event and getting the trail out too Champs2Monkeys.
I guess I'll have to try to get another CO's caches in 4 years time to add some variety to my Leap Day finds

Great to catch up with those that I did.
Many thanks to Champs2Monkeys for organising.

I am glad there were 29 days this month - because I am not sure where the other 28 went! (not Geocaching ... sigh ... my last find before this day was 29 JANUARY!!! - oops? - so I went and found a couple of caches on my way here, and one more afterwards
What a big crowd! ... and lots of fun meeting/catching up with people ... and chasing people with polo shirts/etc that looked like they may be trackable ones from Mega events/etc. and realising that most of them were just work shirts - LOL
Thanks C2M for taking the leap and organising the event
... edited to change the date - looks like I have to say I logged it on the 29th (rather than a couple weeks later when I actually AM doing it) to get the souvenir ... maybe they should change that bit of the form to "date found" instead of "date logged"? (or maybe I should just try and log everything on the date I find/attend it? - lol)

A leap day event! The first of many this event season! My Japanese exchange arrived the day before and so I planned to take him down here to show him Geocaching. We turned up at the event on time and it was already in full swing! I chatted to a few caching friends and took part in the group photo before heading off to got and find some the awesome caches nearby.
My friend, his dad, his exchange, my exchange, Loci612, Ambi666 and I headed off to the caches and found them reasonably quickly. My exchange certainly thought the caches were awesome and they are deserving of all their favourite points! We returned to the event but left soon after. Thanks for a great event C2M, my exchange was listed under my name but did not log using his caching name (Auskid)!

First time at an event, found someone I knew from another group. I'm not a social animal.
Our first event! It was nice meeting a few of the folk behind the names we see in log books so often. Thanks, Champs2monkeys for organising the event.
Unfortunately schoolwork has taken priorities here, so I will not be able to attend anymore. Have fun though!
# 2150 When I noticed that no one had made an event for Leap Year Day, I decided that I would do one but wasn't sure anyone would turn up.
I was pleasantly surprised today at the turn out. Thanks all that attended.

Big Roll-up for this once in 4 year chance to log on 29/02. Now off to a birthday party for a 28 yr old, who is 4 times that age. TFTC 2BluFish
On holiday from Melbourne. Great to meet some Canberra folk. Thanks Champs2Monkeys
Thanks for organising the event. My visit was very brief because of other commitments, but it was nice to catch up with a few friends.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys for organising a great get together. I just arrived in time for the photo, and had a great catch-up with a few cachers. TFTE
It was great to see so many people attend a Monday after-work event. Lots to talk about, as always. Thanks for organising C2M
Managed to attend with the geofamily. Great turnout! Grabbed a couple of caches nearby and JetFuselage enjoyed the playground. Thanks for the event.
Thank you C2M for organising the event. Met some local cachers as well as found some nearby caches.
Thanks Champs
Had a great time catching up with Pacmania and Darzee and meeting Collapsable Frink. Thanks for organising this get together, nicer weather than this time back in 2012 when it was bucketing down rain up at Red Hill.
Cheers

Attended the Event here in Canberra on holidays from and met a couple of Canberrian cachers. Thanks Champs2Monkeys for arranging the Event. TFTE
Having attended this event I can now say that I have found 5,000 caches. I was looking for something a little different. An event, on such a day was too good to miss. TaurusSix and I chatted away and posed for a photo. We then headed of to start the next 5,000.
After a very enjoyable weekend camping we decided to round off the weekend with this event and souvenir . Thanks for organising C2M
Showed up and chatted with a few people. Got the smiley, had the photo then off for more geocaches.

Came with cantanga.
Thank you so much for a terrific event. It was interesting to see so many geocachers in their work clothes, they scrub up quite nicely, don't they? I wore my green frock with matching green socks to celebrate that my calendar is now totally green! A great way to end a years solid geocaching.
It was great to see a few out-of-towners, and to catch up with familiar faces...I'm just sorry I didn't chat with them more.
The Ridgeo-pup caught up with her friend Jet Fuselage who took her for a stroll, sticking to the path because the poor dog got attacked by some vicious bindies in the grass already. cantanga and I excused ourselves to go and grab a couple of caches but the party was still going when we returned and said our farewells. Thanks for the event Champs2Monkeys

Attended with our grand daughter who was more interested in the nearby park.
Thanks for organising the event Champs2Monkeys - much appreciated.

A quick visit on the way home from work. Great turn out, lots of new and familiar faces. Thanks Champs2Monkeys
Attended. with my poppa and namna - as a two year old I didn't think much of the big people gathering but I loved the nearby park. Thanks for bringing my poppa and namna (and me) to this great spot Champs2Monkeys.
Decided at the last minute to drop in on the way home from work and catch up with some of the old faces.
1. Got the photo opportunity/
2. Had a great chat
3. Signed the log book so now have the smiley.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys for the event.

-30- Yay! 29 February is here again. It's been a long 1460 days since the last one. Arrived early (1615) left late (1800) and ended up horse (ahem, *hoarse*) after nattering away to so many for so long, nonstop. And there were still plenty of people I didn't get to catch up with. Good news is that there are plenty more events on the horizon.
Thx C+2M for organising.

It was good to see some familiar faces and discover the awesome boundless park. Thanks for the event.
#1807 Happy Leap Day !
I rolled up just as the obligatory picture was being taken. I was not quite the last though. Chatted with some new faces and some old cronies. 1st catch up since the new year event.
Thanks for organising C2M !

First event, attended with my Japanese exchange student.
Great experience, and I hope to attend more in the future.
Happy leap day!

Happy leap day!
Attended with my geo-parents. Loved catching up with Freda the geo-pooch and playing at the playground.
Arrived early with Bobl27 and the geohound but the crowd was already building! There were so many people I sadly did not have time to say hello to more than a few as we had to leave very soon after the photo. Great to see such a good turn out and to have a groups photo (attached). Thanks Champs for organising a once in 4 year event!
I missed the group photo as I was relegated parking duty by the geo-wife and geo-son. Circled around for ages then managed to find one nearby. Thanks for organising.
Damn just miss out getting in the group of geopeople in the photo as just arrive but lucky just sign in and took my kids to the playground and look for some caches..
Thanks for the event Champs2Monkeys

Thank you for organising this - it was a great day to be out and about before heading home to look after the family. Nice to be getting to put faces to names as I keep attending these events.
Attended this with sm33gs on an after work unicycle ride to nab the two leap year souvenirs. This cache was nicely placed and nicely timed for that -- TFTC.
My First event! Was great to meet a few fellow geocachers. thanks for the event!

I left work bang on 5, only to find I had a flat tyre (again). A repair was out of the question and the spare tube had a split in it, so I walked to the nearest bike shop to get some new tubes. The bike was soon fixed, then it was a mad dash to the event. As I approached I saw cachers heading away, so it was obvious I was late, but there were still plenty of folk there to catch up with. Unfortunately the log book was no longer there. Thanks for organising the event. Afterwards I headed off around the lake to grab a couple of disabled trads.

What a great event. Thanks for organising it. I had a great time chatting to new and old mates.
My 99th event, but only my second ever leap day event! (And second leap day souvenir)! Nice to catch up with so many cachers! Lovely evening for it! Stayed for quite a while afterwards still catching up with cachers! Thanks for organising C2M!
It was fantastic to finally put faces to names that I've seen over and over again during my short geocaching stint. It was also nice just to say thanks to those COs who I've had the pleasure (and occasional pain) of finding their caches. This a great sport and one that I'm thoroughly enjoying. I didn't get a chance to meet a number of folk, but there will, no doubt, be plenty of upcoming opportunities. Thanks C+2M for organising this event. Well done and greatly appreciated.
A great turnout and good to catch up for a chat after work.
Thanks for organising.
Thanks for organising.
Arrived a little after 5.15pm great to see lots of people at the event, Grimraider took a couple of group photos and a quick chat before having to head off and do the child pick up - great event Champs2Monkeys
After having a great morning out on the tracks, raced back to town for this wonderful Event. Many thanks to Champs2Monkeys for the organisation. I really enjoy catching up with fellow cachers I have met along the way. Thanks for the friendship and encouragement.
46 attends already and its still the night of the event!
One of the larger events held in Canberra for sure
Came over here from Gungahlin straight after school and made it within 4 mins before the event started. Heaps of people already there, and more just kept showing up after they were able to get off work.
Chatted to lots of people, both familiar and old ones! Was great to come out to the city for a nice night and of course gain the souvenir for the day
Huge Thanks to C2M for organising this event, the timing must of been perfect for most as I was surprised there was only 1 event held today and not another one at a different time!

A fun event and my 3rd Leap Year caching adventure . Great to see so many people in attendance....just shows we are growing all the time. Good to chat with a few new cachers and catch up with the old farts as well. (Tongue firmly in cheek there....)
Thanks Champs2Monkeys....the end of a good day out.

Great event, got to meet some of the established names and catch up with old friends. Thanks for the event C+2M
Arrived just as the carillon struck the half hour, signed the log, chatted to a couple of folks & then had to zip off again. Lots of computer/internet/phone dramas at home to attend to... Thanks for organising & getting me out of the house, albeit very briefly! Happy leap day all!
With the leap year coming around again, we decided to take a day off work and spend it out in the fresh air collecting some smileys.
After a day of caching we were off to the lake to meet others at this event. great turn out and lovely weather.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys for organising this one.

Good to attend this rare event. Glad to say hello to old friends and meet some cachers from Brisbane. My first time to meet sumbloke and share our similar interests in caching.

My first smiley for the 29th February, and with this I will have filled all the boxes in for individual days in the statistics. I needed that leap year to come around to manage that. Lots of people in attendance. Thank you Champs2Monkeys for organising this successful get-together.
What a great event and fantastic turn out. Haven't been to this area for a while and good to see all the new development. Met some lovely interstate geocachers and caught up with a few locals as well. Many thanks to Champs2Monkeys for organising.
Thanks C2M for organising this get-together. As a relative newbie to geocaching, it was great to meet such a fab bunch of experienced cachers.
I arrived late, but just in time to get my scribble in the logbook and claim my souvenir . I think the event was just getting going by that point, and it was nice to catch up with some familiar faces and meet some new ones. Thanks for organising the get together Champs2Monkeys!
Well, its a once in every 4 year day today so I had to make the MOST of it. Unfortunately I had to work however after a discussion with the boss, I was given an early mark to head out and get some Majura Cycleway caches. I raced home to get the pushy, pumped up the tires and headed off to park between 1 and 2. I pulled the pushy out, and you wouldnt believe it, tire was FLAT! Well, that sux, so the bike got thrown back into the geomobile and off on foot I went.
After doing the first 10 caches of the Majura Cycleway I walked back to the car and headed off to this event. Nice turn out!!! An event with a souvenir to boot, brings out all the cachers, especially on a leap day
Had a nice chat with some locals as well as some interstater's before heading off back to the Majura Cycleway caches to try finish them off.
Thanks for holding this event C2M, nice to see a good turn out

#1076. 91 days in a row.
Thanks for the great event, Champs2Monkeys. It was nice catching up with so many cachers I'd met before and getting to put faces to some names I'd seen but hadn't yet met. I had some great conversations with people about caches we'd found, caches we'd hidden and other caching-related topics.
I discovered a bunch of trackables that other people had taken along and allowed people to discover a few I was holding. I also passed one along to GoldenWattle so she can take it interstate in the coming months.

10277. Attended this Event after a great day of caching around Canberra.
After SDL and I had finished over 100 caches around Canberra today - mainly the CCT series, we arrived at the Leap Year Day Event. Lots and lots of cachers here today - most I recognised but as always more new cachers appearing all the time - great to see. The time allocated came and went but still we stuck around having a chat. Eventually a hot bath and a cold beer beckoned so I headed home pretty pleased with the days results.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys !! Awesome day and event.

Left work early for a change to get to this one
I was impressed to see an already large gathering as I was making my way up to the group from the car...and the gathering just kept growing and growing! Very impressive turn out! But then I suppose a leap year with a souvenir and a lovely sunny afternoon is pretty good incentive!
Great to catch up with several of the regulars and have a chat
Thanks for putting on this great little event, C2M

GUIO are aiming to attend...we are currently traveling from Adelaide to Canberra so providing we have a hassle free journey we will be 2 adults and one 8 year old!
Smashing -- this is right on my ride-around-the-lake route, and around the same time, so it'll give me a reason (other than to get exercise of course ) to go for a ride, and grab me a leap year event cache. Consequently i'll see if i can drop in -- may be a bit sweaty but
As a newby, having just started this year, I really Iook forward to finally meeting some other geocachers. Thanks for organising.
Great idea! Great place! Great time! Thanks for organising Champs2 Monkeys…we will be there.
I live in the Yarra Valley in Victoria but will be in Canberra for a week with my muggle wife and friends. I'd love to come and meet up with some ACT folk.
