Made it to all 3 caches in this series with Talia.

This was the last on our to do list but was by far my favourite!

Turns out packing a little ladder was very useful.
Very hard to spot the cache from the ground but getting to it was easy enough for someone who has been climbing since birth.

Thank you for such an awesome series!

Found and signed with dalerious. Hmmmmm, previous finders have opted out of attempting this set of awesome tree climbs. One may call them scaredy cats. No offence guys, but really? I can tell you that this cat relishes these climbs. I am in pussy heaven when up in a tree. Stick to what you can do, and don't push your boundaries, but at the same time, don't winge and whine about these climbs so that cachers like dalerious and I can still enjoy a good, down to earth, no holes barred, rope free climb SmileRazz.
Thank you 88andy88, I hope you get number 3 happening again soon to give us a good excuse to come back

Found with catnap777 @ 7:00am after a hearty breakfast and a damn fine coffee from the bakery across the road. Sipping on our cappuccinos, we waited patiently for the sun to rise high enough for us to spot our prize before shinning up for the hardest one first, well, hardest to spot anyway.
We couldn't believe our success. We were so excited and pleased with ourselves we near ran to the next one.
TFTC 88andy88. We were lucky enough to get all 3 caches still available on this morning.

In the area with my son getting new tyres for his car. While in the area, we thought we would collect a few caches that took our fancy.

This series was definitely on the list. Have been here once previously and collected only 1 of them. Pretty sure there was 5/5 that seems to be missing, and I wanted to get to last time, but there were too many baseball people around. Today the place was completely empty.

Parked right at this GZ and we took a look around. Last time I never found this one, but this time after about 5 minutes I saw it. My son was interested in collecting this one himself and after he climbed up and over me, he was in the tree. Then a slow climb, and he had the geocache in his hand. Dropping it down to me, I soon had it signed. Pretty interesting that a number of names in the online 'Found logs' do not appear on the log. Took us about 6 throws before he caught it and placed it back as found.

Thanks for the cache 88 Andy 88

Looking at previous logs and photos I figured this would be the tree that my Dad and I would attempt today. We brought along a step ladder but I underestimated how high the fork of the tree is off the ground. Being somewhat vertically challenged myself didn't aid the situation at all, although it might have come in handy had I made it onto the branch as I'm not quite sure how weight baring it is. There were suggestions of standing on each other's shoulders but we thought better of it as Dad needed to head home soon for an online work meeting!

So, we'll be back sometime in the future with a bigger and better TOTT!

Found it from the ground. Ain’t climbing today

14-Jun-21
Very small I almost didn’t see it

During dinner last night, my companions (one half of) beckNmonts and ahomburg took great pity on my D/T grid, very disappointed in its empty squares at the big number corner, and proceeded to compile a list of caches to bring it back to good health! So today I had the privilege of ahomburg to chauffer me around the Eastern Suburbs to find some exceptional caches.

This was our first stop for the day and it looked pretty easy from the bottom of the ladder! Out on a thin limb, with me being of not a slight build, and the wind fairly racing through the treetops and it was altogether a completely different experience! But I took my time, made sure my grip was good and very carefully I had the logbook in my hand! Thx ahomburg for the encouragement and thx to 88andy88 for the challenge!

Found the cache, wasn’t able to sign due to current injury and not wanting to make it worse, will be back to sign as soon as I am able to

20-Feb-21
It’s been a looong time coming, but with a lockdown free weekend again, and holes in my 366 and DT grids, I was DETERMINED to claim this find today.

On my last time here for #1 and #2 I’d sussed out this one and was imagining bringing a ladder of some sort. However, this time around I arrived with nothing but the attitude to succeed!

After confirming the cache was still where I remembered it to be, I scouted around, tried out a few ideas and had a light bulb moment. Very happy with my branch and dog lead combo, I’m thinking I may just have a new favourite TOTT Smile

Was soon up and shimmying out to sign the log.

Great stuff!

Found @12:43 #7470
What a great day!. Big GrinCool Finally got this one at long last and the very last one still enabled in the 5k. Just made it!!.

This from the ground looking up had me nervous but once up in the fork thanks to the go-go gadget ladder it wasn't really that bad at all. Shimmy over to the cache and the windy conditions were not helping but was able to extract the log to make my mark and return it. All done in about 5mins too.

So this leaves now only #5 to do to finish the series, which if for another day.

There was no sign of the previous finder in the log, but maybe I missed it??...

Day 107 of 366 completed.

Awesome work by the CO here. Really appreciate the efforts here. Favorite [^]

We decided to spent the afternoon doing some caches in this area. Geoniece climbed one tree only to find a birds nest full of eggs. Upon climbing the next tree ,the cache was spotted from the ground and geoniece skilfully had her hand on the cache. Fun series. TFTC.

We found this cache today at 10:35am in company of Pprass. Unlike it's cache mate #5, this cache had the closest unfound cache to home since only 15 minutes ago when we had logged the pre-mentioned #5. We had also visited this cache on 3 other occasions, once when we completed #1 and #2, again when we completed #3 and one other time just try to at least see it. We had long given up on ever being able to collect this one along with #5. Yesterday though, out of the blue, we were contacted by Pprass who had the equipment to collect it and had asked me along. Well "yes please, Mr Prass, I would be delighted". Although he had already picked this one up some time ago, since he already had the equipment on board, he had kindly assisted in the retreival of this one, which was a little easier than #5.

With these two caches now in the bag, the baton of closest unfound cache to home, for us, moves onto another cache and Fright Climb #5 and #4 will no longer be seen atop that list. In fact, the great thing about finding the two closest caches to home is that every other single cache in the whole world move two closer up the list. Thanks from D B-A.

Day 6 of caching in Vic,
Came over from Geraldton for St Arnauds Mega event,  out and about finding Caches with Becknmonts, having lots of fun, thank you to CO for letting me log after a series of unfortunate events

13-Nov-19
Well this one was tricky. I consider myself a good climber but this pushed me. Needed lots of strength and manouvering but got there eventually. TFTC

08-Nov-19
We are always on the look out for high T caches, and so having noticed this set of 5 tree climbs we came to search for them after having just spent a great morning geocaching in the Churchill National Park - we are so glad we did as we had a lot of fun and left with a full set of smilies. Once at Ground Zero for this one the two pieces of wood we had found earlier on in the car park helped Mr Team GBS to get himself up to the bottom branch of the tree, then having first spotted the cache from down below a quick limb walk later and the log book was being signed. Thanks so much for yet another good fun tree climb and another favourite point awarded. Greetings from Zimbabwe

06-Oct-19
Walking from Springvale to Olinda, these caches happened to b along the way and what a great challenge, digging deep for my inner monkey skills. I didn’t need a ladder, just a boost up, and then it was plain sailing up to cache. Brilliant tftc. Now back to walk and Dandenong ranges. This was the most fun cache, loved it.

22-Sep-19
These five caches up trees seemed like a bit of fun, off I set around the park with the ladder over my shoulder, was able to find them all except for one, it was just out of reach and life is a bit more valuable then a cache.

Today was a good day out, made my way down to safety beach/Mornington Peninsula area for a CITO and event. Then headed back via some bike caches. All finished off with an experience with the police.

Thanks 88andy88 for a great monkey climb.
This leaves just one of these great climbs that seems too great for us.
Our geomonkey needs to feel a bit braver before going for it.
We have really enjoyed all these finds.
Again, thanks for your super efforts it gave us a great family outing.

29-Aug-19
I think the ladder used here, OHC’s, has been here many more times than any finder. It was dark when we were lurking around except for the baseball field alight with a game, but they paid no attention to our shenanigans and soon I was up, signing the log.

Thanks 88andy88 for Fright Climb #4

When I first started caching I attempted some of this series with my daughter, but 3 of them we waaaay too hard for us, and they had sat dormant on my caching page ever since. But I started getting sick of seeing these 3 caches unfound and decided it was time to do something - so I vowed I would attempt them over the school holidays.
This morning and I had brought my big ladder - ok now here we go! Take a deep breath and start climbing.....
As a youngster I loved climbing trees but once I hit about 35 I started to become really scared of heights. Carrying extra weight doesnt help either - not sure if I could hold my bodyweight with my arms for very long if my legs slipped....
I held onto the top branch with all my life and gingerly inched my way along the wobbly branch. I was actually surprised at how quickly I got to the cache which was a relief. Signing the log was the most difficult part though and my legs were like rubber as they shook and wobbled. I got the bison lid back on and inched my way back home - yes!!
Isnt is amazing what geocaching does to challenge you - the thrill of achieving this climb was exhilarating - thankyou so much 88andy88 for a great challenge! TFTC!

09-Apr-19
WOW WOW what a night and experience. I have got a family member enthused in caching and he is 6ft 4in with long legs and arms, what a asset. We proudly attended the swearing in of number one daughter in the Knox Council as newly elected councilor. That was another challenging journey. Geoson has a ladder on board and those 5 challenges that been glaring at me for so long are under fire. Number 4 our next challenge. No one around of course being pitch black and now drizzling. I got to hold the ladder while PMB did the climb and Mr X did the reckie and spotted it from the ground. Tricky again and it meant going out on a limb though but that's the tester. Thanks for giving us a great family venture 88andy88. Love your work

08-Apr-19
Going out on a limb here with xambo4u.
Fun night cacheing in the rain to celebrate my sister's new role

03-Apr-19
Nice fresh log which meant I climbed this one twice but what a fun climb. Took quite some searching to locate and a little bit to determine the best way to get this one as I had no tott but that would take the fun out of it. So with a few fancy moves and I was able to access the cache.

Thanks 88andy88 for the cache.
Found at 6:20 pm on 3/4/19.

Initially couldn’t see this one. A walk around the rest of this series & looked again. I spotted it, but with no way to easily get up there we had to give up.
Will come back another time.

Working my way gradually back to Canberra from Phillip Island collecting some nice caches along the way. This series looked like fun. Needed some extra equipment to get up the first bit, but soon signed the container. TFTC 88andy88

02-Oct-18
This cache was just to high up and difficult to get to without a ladder or other equipment.

08-Sep-18
Found it, kids and wife were very happy

04-Jul-18
It’s been 6 months since I’ve found a cache and having 3 hours until my next job in the area decided I would find a few. Sl thanks for the cache.

24-Jun-18
It took us forever to see the little thing. We go there in the end with the help of a ladder. That branch made us a twitchy. The log book is quite full. We only found a small spot to put name in

13-May-18
Does it count if we saw it and threw a stick to touch it?

04-Mar-18
Saw the cache and log hanging naked. after a little search, Awegs fond it's 'pants' then it was my job to have knocking knees and sign and piece back together the cache. A second DT box needed completed in a few minutes, so yay! TFTC.

04-Mar-18
This one was in need of help and between Scotttiew and AWegs plus the ladder this time the D/T rating box got filled. Tftc

21-Jan-18
I didn't come to this park with a plan to climb trees. I'll come back with gear.

Back with a ladder, we actually found the cache this time. Great monkey work by our team. Thanks 88andy88.

30-Dec-17
After finding #1 and #3, we couldn't even see the cache for this one! Another day.

29-Dec-17
Our first hurdle here was to actually spot the cache. Eventually one of us yelled found it...then the planning began. Geodad went back for the car and we used our small step to start him off. He kind of used the step and mum’s arms as a boost, he then used that beautiful upper body strength to drag himself the rest of the way. Us gals on the ground could see the cache, but geodad absolutely lost his bearings in his efforts. “Just rest for a bit and take it slowly”...seemed to do the trick!
The branch that he had to shimmy out onto did not look supportive. We had to be his support from the ground. Eventually he just took a deep breath and went for it. Ahhh, third frightening log signed.
Now to get down. This caused some injury, but didn’t wipe the smile from geodad’s face. Thanks 88andy88, for an adventure and a new addition to our d/t grid!

07-Nov-17
This was my target cache for the day and I thought to make this the first of the climbs. I parked at the Parking coords and then walked over for perusal. Having a scout from the ground the container was soon spotted so I walked back over to the vehicle and drove back over, ramped the music and made the ascend.

Cheers 88andy88

07-Oct-17
Could not even spot this from the ground, and like the previous one I’m going need a ladder

20-Sep-17
Found at 10:10:04 AM GAFF1 in the company of Alansee.
This looked a bit difficult as the branch that I had to stand on looked as though it would not support my weight, but it all was so easy once I got up there.
Thanks 88andy88

20-Sep-17
This one at first looked tricky, however pprass in the end made it look easy. If it wasn't for him I would not have gotten the ones that we did today.

17-Sep-17
Our last one for the day - thanks 88andy88 - these have been ace

17-Sep-17
This was a fun cache to get! Managed to get up without using ropes or anything! :p thanks

27-Aug-17
#1089 - 2.20pm
I didn't have the recommended TOTTs. But I was here...
I looked about and assessed the possibilities. There were a couple of dodgey options, so I tried one and up I went.
Well, there you go, who needs a ladder?!
I was perched precariously up in the tree when three teenagers came walking across the oval towards my location. They passed right underneath me and glanced at my car, but somehow didn't notice me up in the branches above them!!
Once they'd gone, I gathered the cache and signed in with shaking legs.
As I replaced the log, it started to hail. That made getting down fun!!
Thanks for the awesome challenge, 88andy88. That's the first four of the series completed without a ladder. I'm not so optimistic about #5, but I'll be back for that another day.
Wink

09-Jul-17
I came for a quick reconnaissance mission yesterday for this cache. I spotted it, but my ladder was about a meter short. What to do? Do I risk my life and climb, knowing my will needs updating? Do I go to Bunnings and insist on buying a longer ladder that will be three times the length of my jimny? Or do I try work on my muggle father, his ute tray, ladder footing abilities and my now just long enough ladder? Muggle father was slightly apprehensive, but after my mornings effort in his garden, agreed to accompany me. Not only did we get this cache but we had a quick spy at one other which we decided we might borrow a better quality ladder from my electrician cousin one day for. No lives were lost, I'll make it to the solicitor to update my will and he has even agreed to a reconnaissance mission on another geocache. The log on this one is full, but I signed sideways. TFTC 88andy88

27-Apr-17
We had done one of these before but realised we needed something to start on so this time we had that something. The rain stopped and started and we decided not to do number 5 due to safety so will have to come back at some other time. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

16-Apr-17
Found it! This was the second easiest find amongst the trees! We figured out the best approach and with the ladder in place up I went again. Some rope helped secure the ladder and I went right to the top and had the cache well in hand. No tree climbing here. I wouldn't want to walk out on this limb! Log book signed and back down I went. We packed up and we home for a nice cup of tea via some other more sedate caches along the way! TFTC SL Smile Wow! What a great adventure! This series has boosted my confidence to try some more tree climbs to find caches! Thanks very much 88Andy88 for the caches, Cheers Pippin69 Smile

06-Apr-17
Lol just read hergab69's log "4th".. Clearly the heights made her dizzy. This was actually our 2nd climb for the night and I initially left this one to Gabby as it looked straight forward enough. Up the ladder she went and onto the branch but that was where it turned what I call funny. The fear in her eyes was clear. There was no way she was going to do a little toe dance out along that long branch. A bit of encouragement but alas it was not to be. Good try though. So up I went. Turns out this was probably just as well, as there was a cute furry little critter half way out there that may give some a scare. Precariously balanced using my chin to hang on so I could get both hands free the log was signed and the obligatory selfies and photos taken and we were off to the next. Thanks 88andy88

While out and about with McLookers we stopped in to try our luck at this series, we can never pass up some good tree climbs, with all caches there and in good condition it made for an enjoyable adventure.
Thanks 88andy88 for the challenge.

01-Apr-17
We spied the cache and made the precarious climb to nab the prize. Thanks 88andy88.

25-Mar-17
I'm getting way too old to be doing this. Scoped these caches out a while ago but lacked the equipment. So this time I bought a ladder.

19-Jan-17
Another day and a bit more light to climb. These climbs are getting tougher and tougher. TFTC

19-Jan-17
Out with nanton34 and our geomonkeys and this time it was light enough for my goddaughter to spot the little guy high up the tree. Death defying acts once again, a logbook signed and this left us with one left in the series. tftc

30-Dec-16
not enough branch too with Crank1

11-Dec-16
Nice find

11-Dec-16
Joined up with Simsfamily and Neviile Devil to make an early start before heading to a family event. Back to my old stomping ground, this place has so many memories. Spent a few minutes looking up then Spotted the hide. Wasn't sure if the branch would support me but luckily it did. Signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache 88andy88

When Ausfox; suggested having a crack at this series I was super keen. He needed this one to complete his 2nd D/T loop and I needed some to go towards completing my 1st loop. Neville_devil and I meet Ausfox; here and he had arrived a couple of minutes before us and he already had everything out and was retrieving the cache. Both Neville and I jump at the chance to use his equipment which made for quick retrieval and signing of the log. The branch that was needed to be stood on to retrieve the cache didn't feel all that comfortable for someone my size. Hence I did have a death grip on the above branch.

Thank you 88andy88 for the cache and the series

25-Nov-16
Limb walk.
The equipment wasn't enough.
Sure the bananas were well past the required elevation.
But without a delaying reset.
A difficult extra process was required.

Which begs the question.

Why don't they just put the treasures where the bananas want to look?

20-Nov-16
No good for us today, we could see the little treasure but our equipment was to short and our Geokid, although willing, just couldn't get there.

25-Oct-16
Well it took us a while and had to read a few logs to find this one. Geoboy 9 and geogirl were keen. As we were considering how to get them to the first branch we then realised that geoboy9 would not have the dexterity or care to be able to roll the log back up and put in lid to screw closed. Not today for us unfortunately and doing it with a ladder is not really our style (read...cheating).

20-Oct-16

20-Oct-16
Went out with Ruschie and Quinnies to capture these caches today. The climbing was too difficult for us older guys, so my son, Josh, did the hard work. tftc.

25-Sep-16
Luckily we have a very athletic member of our team who managed to collect the cache without a ladder, nice find thanks

31-Jul-16
Please accept my sincere apologies. It has been brought to my attention that due to medical issues, there are a lot of caches I haven't logged, this being one of them. I was the other half of "we" in the Papillon4506 when we spent a day in the area with McSee&Petal and Jascat, who needed my TOTT. As we were finishing Spiffy and Fleabag came along and were most grateful for the loan of my TOTT so that they could also complete these challenging caches.Again, please forgive my lateness, most embarrassing.

31-Jul-16
Dad aka Fleabag- Spiffy- and I were going out caching and driving past here we spotted people with a ladder at GZ so we pulled over and they were catchers and even lent us their ladder to return at an event later that day. The climb was tricky and shakes but we got them all. Thank you 88andy88.

31-Jul-16
Well getting these tree caches today was very unexpected. We had planned the afternoon to finish up in Emerald Lake park at the group assault event organised on Facebook.
However, as we were heading past here and saw a couple of cars with ladders they had to be cachers so we stopped and what do you know they were and were heading to the same event this afternoon. So a plan was hatched and we would borrow the ladder and return it at the event. We had already been here before and spotted most of these from the ground so it was just the scary climbs to claim the smileys.
I took a minute or so to spot this one but after that it was a nice easy retrieval after moving the ladder once.
Thanks Andy88 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

31-Jul-16
It's amazing how easy it was to draw attention to ourselves at this cache, as we'd passed a guy earlier playing golf on the oval, but he packed up as we stopped here. With someone up the ladder and two holding it steady, he drove down the road, staring at our movements and I'll bet he wondered what was going on here.

On arrival it didn't take long to spot the cache connected to this tree and soon after some careful ladder placement the container was reached by us as we logged this one. Now we only just had one tree to go, which was growing alongside the footpath on the highway side of the park.

In attendance were Papillon4506, mcsee&petal and jascat, who in turn took to the ladder for their turn at signing the log. Once this one was logged, we moved on to Number Three.

Thanks 88andy88 for the placement here.

31-Jul-16
Spiffy-, GT02 and I had planned an afternoon of caching, with the aim of making it to a flash mob at Emerald. Heading out we did the standard headcheck of these climb caches having only completed 1 to date (and none for GT02) and noticed 3 cars, one with a ladder! I quickly pulled over and sure enough it was other cahcers - mcsee&petal and jascat. A quick chat and yes they had just finished them all. Wow. They then offered to let us climb one using their ladder while they were there, but mentioned they had to attend Emerald at 3:30... just like us... so a plan was formed. we took their ladder (luckily my ford focus had roof racks too) and off we went. We tried a couple of spots for the ladder and found a safe hold. Up I went and got the little guy. Signed on safe ground then back up. What an adventure. We met back up at Emerald and shared our story and gave them some chocolates to thank them for use of their 6.6m ladder. A great example of what caching is all about and fantastic to meet other cachers. Thank you to 88andy88 for these caches and I can now finally get these close to home caches off my map... and focus on NHL ones. Favorite given,

31-Jul-16
After #2 Papillion4506, mcsee&petal and myself got in our cars and did a short drive to this location. We located the familiar object in the tree and went about putting the ladder in position which proved a little harder than previously. This time it took a few extra hands to get it in the right position. Making the climb to the top of the ladder I found myself having to stretch a little further to reach this one. A car sitting nearby had obviously been watching our movements and as he drove by he turned his head and stared. I wondered if he thought we were Pokemoning but then I'm not sure Pokemon can be found in trees. Thanks 88andy88 for the adventure.

31-Jul-16
Our second last stop in this series, and the only one to present an a accident risk. Not by our climbing, but by the muggle car driver who was so engrossed in what we were doing that he almost ran of the road. Silly muggle. Once we had once again gotten one of our TOTT into position it didn't take long for the three of us to get the job done. Time to tackle the last one now to complete our little circle of smileys. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

While travelling with Mutex I’ve found a lot of caches all over Australia. You know, I like the discovering, especially in nature, but am not that much into pcs and internet ..and logging. Hope you don't mind the standard text as lazy me will only log like this.

Thanks!

At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After I've spent a full year in Australia Pfote joined me for my second year down here. We will definitely try to collect a lot of boxes and all the special things in every state all around and right through the middle.

After the Show & Shine 2016 event we went out caching with Team Smokey and BlazerTriaz.
They told us about a bunch of tree climbing caches in the area, so we went here for a little night crawling.
After having the worst part done with number five, this one was a way more an enjoyable one. Up, sign, down, done.

TFTC and greetings from Germany.

What a difference 45 minutes can make.

Dad and 13yo had pulled-up under this tree to try to grab a few tree-climb caches. Physics dictated that the sub-50kg son would be the climber and the >100k father designated "booster" as required.

Accordingly, dad threw boy up into this tree, but he couldn't quite get himself comfortable with the prospect of climbing out on the boughs.

We took a step back and tried the easier caches #1 and #3, which gave boy the confidence to try this one again. Up into the tree, out along the branches like a natural and then unscrewed the bison tube without a hitch. The only problem was trying to roll-up the log tightly enough to fit back into the tube.

Thanks 88andy88 for putting this series together, it has been an adventure and a half so far - and we have only logged 3 to date.

PS - took a good look at #5 and we both thought better of that. Anybody who gathers that without ropes has some serious fearlessness!!!!

Out on a local caching run with the family exploring the local parks

With no tools to get to get higher the wife used me as a ladder and provided quite a laugh as she got wedged/stuck in the fork of the tree but was able to untangle herself and make her way to the cache. If you had a step or ladder this would be so much easier good luck to anyone attempting this one solo.

To damn dark for our eyes. So we sent the kids up but they were more distracted because they were out climbing each other

Find #2200

Had this series on my list to have a look at since they came out a few months back. I've not being attracted to the TTCs but I liked how these would provide a good challenge to a novice climber like me. Headed out this way early one weekday morning to take a look at the series. HI couldn't spot this one at all on my first pass. Came back later and after a long time scouting under the tree I finally spotted the target. Used the ladder to get me started and as I don't have a long stretch it was a gradual progression to retrieve. Moved towards safety to sign and reversed the procedure to get it back in place. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and for this great series 88andy88. Nicely done and this one earns a favourite point from me.

My luck day! This time a grandmother and grandson team were in the throws of retrieving this one. I was able to help in the process. Thanks 88andy88.
