Decided a trip north to this area was in order today, and in driving terms it is quicker and more pleasant than getting to most of Sydney from home near the start of the M1/F3. But couldn't come up with the goods on this one today despite a fairly thorough check of the area and to see if previous logs would shed any light. Eventually had to give it away and go to find some of the others in the park. Thanks Pest Watch.
Found 2:43 pm with a friend in tow. In fact she got me motivated to go and do the caching today. Cache log was difficult to get out but it popped. Then discovered why, as extra paper was added. This cache needs a new log. Finding it was fairly quick. I didn't quite expect what I found but I guess I just happened to look in the right direction and right spot and I recognised what could be a potential given I've seen these before. After the extract signed the log and then returned cache back to its location.
Thanks for the cache.

Find #1128
What a great day! After a day of caching pain (3 out of 12!) on NYE last weekend, we've come out and hit a fine half century.... 51 finds including a couple of gems, and 2 DNFs. We cached around Jilliby and out to Yarramalong and Kulnura today, filling in some gaps, evening a couple of scores and exploring new areas.
We had ended our run on 48 caches, as getting to 50 hadn't been pre-planned we needed some reserves, so we headed to Gosford, to find the GPS pocket query didn't stretch that far - lucky we had 3G, so fired up Cachly and this nice little Pest Watch cache was handy. We always like a Pest Watch cache, this was no different.... TFTC

Our bush walking group stopped at Mt Penang gardens for lunch so I was able to grab this on the way out.
A quick find. The slow part was trying to roll the log up tight enough to fit back in its container.
TFTC # 1641
The gardens were really good, worth a visit.

Found in the company of the_garbageman and Brother Colin on a day where we went in search of some of the higher D/T combinations of caches, and puzzle caches that we had worked on during the week. This was the final cache of the day, and it just so happened to be our parking point for the day, so we returned here this evening...grabbed this one...and then headed off home.

We also teamed up to solve a few nearby puzzles.
After a big day we made it back to my car.
This is where we separated.
But it would be rude NOT to find the near by cache.
A quick find.
Today I found a total of 20 caches.
Total Diff star today = 55 Total terrain stars today= 65
Average/cache Diff = 2.75 stars Terrain = 3.3 stars
No wonder I am a little tired tonight.
Thanks for a great day guys.

Gotcha - This one is our 100th cache. We found it with our geo grandkids from the Hunter Valley.
Parked just in front of the Information Centre. Nobody around outside, and we could not see any movements inside, so we started our search. After a while something was spotted that looked a bit out of its place. At the same time another couple pulled up just besides us, heading for the information available. Had to use a tool to retrieve the log, before we could sign and replace it when nobody was looking.
Took my Scouts along to check on our cache, and found this one just hanging around!
21/8/16 found it... Forgot to log it!! Easy find with the kids.. No log book! Clues helped!
We on the way to geocaching Day events at Gosford... we stop few caches all the way ... hide well.... Thanks
I stopped here on my way home to use the facilities. I spotted it straight away, grabbed it and retreated to the geo-mobile for a tool to retrieve the log. My geo-wife and I stopped here earlier this year, not sure why we didn't do it then, thanks.
Very clever, found with our mugglebubby Sarah on route to Newcastle to fly home to Melbourne. Lovely weekend. TFTC TNLN
Love the camo! GPS was jumping all over the place and I was a bit wary of the camera, however I soon spotted something that didn't quite look right. TFTC!
If it were any smaller, it wouldn't exist at all. Nevertheless it wasn't hard to spot.
Was a bit tricky to retrieve the log from the cache but we got there eventually. A nice cache to break the drive back home up. Log was full, needs to be replaced. TFTC.
Nice hide but don't like searching on front of cameras. Could get strip out so
Smudged end with green ink. Tftc

Found today while the geomum was at dancing. I went inside at this one, as always worried about trying to find a cache on private property. They said they knew about it and happy searching. Soon spotted scratched my name in as my pen didnt want to work on the waxy paper. TFTC

A fun find for the geokids after chasing BFJ's waterfalls (off to that GZ now!) this our #32.
A quick find thanks to the updated coords. I missed it the day it was published. TNLN TFTC
Caches don't get too much closer to home than this! Whilst out on a morning unicycle ride I decided to grab this one!
This container had me riding back to my car and raiding my first aid kit for tweezers and a pen!

I came up to Mt Penang to do the local "Parkrun", which I recommend for everyone - it's a weekly free 5 Km run/jog/walk in the gardens starting 8:00am every Saturday. You have to register (which is free) and they time you, I can happily say that I got a personal best time today (30:35)
After the run I drove over to near GZ, which is very close to the half-way mark of the Parkrun. Had a look at some of the local info, never sussed out the building before. Had a walk back and forth and spotted the cache. Very brazen! TNLN (cache is too small anyway) and signed log.
I haven't traveled too far in recent months (/years? ) but do pay attention to those signs and find them interesting from a scientific point of view. When I go up to Cessnock to visit family you can't miss the sign about the treat to grape vines. From the cache description I also looked up the "electric ant" because it's name sounding interesting, no laser beams but it looks like it has weird mix of cloned and non-cloned individual ants.
Great cache all round. Thanks!

Found with Lance91 on 18/2/16 after rescuing him and his broken down bike from budgewoi. Tftc
awkward skulking moment but then saw something not quite necessary.
Had been by before and that time got a few good maps of local parks - great spot.

For some reason I didn't pay much attention to this one when it was first published, but after hearing it mentioned at the leap year event on Monday I thought I'd better go for a drive up the hill to take a look.
A quick find on a quiet Sunday morning with no muggles about. Many thanks for the hide.

Great to meet you today at the Leap Year Event. Thought I would duck up and grab this one. Had a lovely chat to the volunteers inside too! TFTC
Mumma-Kel and I called in here this afternoon on our way home from a geo-outing to Wangi Headland so that she could convert her previous DNF into a smiley. Now that the coords have been fixed up, it's a very easy find, and we were able to be back on the road in just a couple of minutes. Thanks for this cache Pest Watch, and for the smiley too.
After a day's caching around Lake Mac Opa Shrek and I were headed home in time for me to meet the afternoon school bus - with 10min to go, he detoured into the parklands figuring we had plenty of time to make this quick grab. I figured he was right seeing as how I'd eliminated all other possibilities about the place except the (now) posted coordinates - there could only be one place for it to be.... We pulled up right alongside, and within moments had the cache in hand. If only it had been this simple when I rushed up her for the FTF the other day - but that's the risk you take I guess. Thanks for updating the coords so quickly, and glad I could get along here today to convert my sad face to a smiling one
Thanks for the find and continued education Pest Watch - I went home and cleaned out all the kids-droppings from the vehicle after I was here the other day, so it served as a timely reminder for me

We called past here on Thursday but due to the venue being open and a number of muggles around we decided not to try for this one.
Today on the way home from a cache maintenance run to Yarramalong we decided it would be a good time to look again. The cache was located very quickly by Mrs Shifter while Mr Shifter pretended to be a tourist looking at the touch screen information that seems to want us to go to Club Umina.
Thanks Pest Watch

We visited the nice reptile Park in Somersby which was great. A lot of informative and illustrative keeper talks.
After the visit there we stopped at some nice caches in the region.
Thank you to all the owners

Saw this cache notification come thru and thought you beauty, nice and close. Grabbed the keys and dashed off for what I thought would be an easy Ftf... No such luck tho - spent more than 40min searching with quite an expanded search area once I established GZ had little matching the hint, but this find wasn't for me today
Like mumma-kel, we could see nothing likely anywhere near GZ but persevered, looking for anything in the shrubbery. A worker came over to check if I was a geocacher, and said it was nowhere around there, but somewhere "over there" as he knew the CO. I looked for a while in places within that general area which fitted the clue and soon found the cache. The GPS would not settle, but 33.25.948 151 17.823 will put you a lot closer than the listed GZ, some 40m away. Thanks to Pest Watch for a good hide and a FTF. Food is never left in our car, if it's not eaten straightaway it is placed in a bin next stop.
Find 100!
Found with Ausfeet after some help, noticed the fish's coord's and didn't know what to expect, looked around the carpark till the guy was closing up shop and gave us a hint. Found quickly after that, and noticed the fish's coord's were on point. cool cache but i got a feeling it may get muggled easily. Also, bring a tool for extraction of log, its a toughy to get out/put back in.

When I saw on the map, I wondered where it could be and thought that it could not be right. I read the Fishes' log and then made sense! After work on my way home I pop up there and it was quickly spotted! CO may want to update the coords. Great container! Loved it!
Thanks, Pest Watch, for the cache and mainly for the very useful information. Very descriptive and very well explained! Cheers!

*Note ( I forgot to mention..): I was there, like ten minutes before. There was a truck with the engine running just in front of GZ. I waited a bit walking here and there. Apparently he wouldn't go away so soon, so I went for a drive. When I saw he leaving, I returned. Thanks Mr & Mrs Fish! *
