Logs
This is one of a series of caches I attempted during my solo trip to NZ on 18th-21st October, 2024. This opening (lengthy) paragraph is backstory about the trip; specific stuff about this particular cache, and info about photo/s (if attached) will be in the next paragraph. Several other caches were on a list to get but not found due to time constraints, legs hating me, changed plans; DNF's have not been logged, as most were only a very quick/cursory search before deciding to move on with the trip, and a fairer search may have turned up the desired finds. 30 caches were successfully found in New Zealand, from 15 different cache owners, with a maximum of 8 finds from same cache owner; find furthest from home was ~2,650km away in Taonui; a big thank you to all cache owners who put in the time and effort to place and maintain caches found. Due to busy schedule, logs may be delayed a fair bit before posting; I'm aiming to get through all logs by end of November 2024, noting that any mention of cache conditions are based on when I found them in October, and may no longer be accurate by the time the logs are posted. Day 1 of my trip saw me leaving home at the earliest time I've left home in probably 3 years, driven by partner (lilbassgirl) to Melbourne (Tullamarine) international airport, flying to Wellington (with motion sickness issues on the way due to turbulence), then grabbing some caches on the way to my NZ base at Paekakariki. Day 2 was a caching drive to Feilding and back; I'd intended to do the Paekakariki Escarpment track in the arvo, but given illness and dehydration from previous day, I decided against it, and instead spent more time/got more caches than I'd intended where I drove. Day 3 was taking photographs of a steam train (JA1271; with diesel DA1431 {wearing 345 on the sides} at the other end) run by Steam Incorporated from Paekakariki to Longburn, then driving ahead to Feilding to become a passenger on said train to Whanganui and back, with a few hours of lunch and photography, plus a cache/AdLab walk in Whanganui, and more train photos despite the increasing darkness returning from Feilding to Paekakariki. Day 4 saw me returning rental car to Wellington (with some caching/photography detours on the way), flying back to Melbourne (Tullamarine), luckily without motion sickness that time, and being picked up by my partner (lilbassgirl) again. A brilliant, unforgettable experience, and I can't wait to return to New Zealand again (but hopefully the motion sickness on planes can be avoided on future trips). Now, onto this particular cache:A nice little find to end my NZ vacation. No issues with cache condition. Attached photo looking in general direction of the cache whilst taking off on flight home, approximately 4h after the successful find.
Returning from Gold Coast to Auckland, but had to make a 5 hour stopover in Wellington. Oh well, a good excuse for a couple of hours walk to find some nearby caches ... A quick find once at GZ. Log was quite damp but just signable. TFTC
Found in the open on the ground, replaced as best I thought it should be. Not really nano or camouflaged as in description. Log is wet so signed as best I could. This catch might need some TLC
Macfam41 found it while waiting for QF 355 to land from Brisbane & pick ip friends. TFTC to fill in the time.
After watching some planes take off and land, wandered over to this for a quick find, cheers.

2nd cache found around Welly airport to kill time during the 3hrs delay imposed by our dearest Jetstar. XDTFTC
Nice quick find here.. well that is if you consider walking out to GZ and back quick .. the things we do for our hobby. cheers for the smiley
Today we flew from Sydney to Wellington. It was a nice sunny day when we arrived. We left our luggage at the hotel at the airport and went for a few caches. We almost made it. A storm and rain caught us as we reached the last cache.Greetings from Finland Thank you for this cache.
We (raija485 and I) have few days to search geocaches and explore the city at the same time. As for the weather, it's really nice to be here and move around (as long it's not raining). Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland!
A second quick find while hanging round for a connecting flight at wellington airport on my way to invercargill to watch the Burt Monroe challenge. A plane flew off as i was approaching this area. Cache visited by mystery at the museum, the voodoo tramp and marks frog. Thankyou for the cache.
I'd kept this one as a local easy one to find when the mood struck and tonight was the night. While geohound watched on I though this may be tricky in the dark but it's hiding spot was soon obvious. Tftc
Fun park n grab. I love it when the gps and clue are spot on. Thanks for placing it here.
Ttftc just waiting to catch a plane home I went down without hubby first time for me since my injury I will get back into it and get my bugs going again!
I needed to drop some family members to the airport today which gave me a chance to look for some caches over this side of Wellington and make a start on this month's wheel of challenges. Good tip about avoiding the extortionate parking fees, might use it if I am needed for pickup duties! A nice quick find. Signed one of the three logsheets, TFTC
The last day of seven in Wellington having caught up with the teen whom is on semester break from Canterbury Uni. and went to a show and caught up with friends, and now time to fly back to our respective homes.... The teen had already departed for Christchurch, and I was waiting for my flight to Auckland, and the wind was starting to play havoc with the flights, unbeknown to me, as I was out finding a few caches....(just one more cache.....) then home....
TFTC.

I was granted the privilege of a real plane landing just as I laid hands on the cache. Something about the booming of the jet engine for the soul to really close off a great caching day. No flying for me though. TFTC
Some free time between flights today have us the opportunity to make a couple of finds. TFTC
Tricky find for us but we got there in the end, the hint definitely gives it away
Seems the cache went AWOL during the recent tree pruning. Replaced with a different cache type.
No container visible. Appears that the trees have been pruned in last few months. May have been found and disposed of?
Mum is helping me log all my caches that I haven't logged yet.Found with Mum (LL113) and Dad (GNARwhal).
Bit of Wedding Anniversary (4 years!!) caching with LL113 and UnicornLex
Also, Cache No. 200!!
Also, Cache No. 200!!
What does one do on their wedding anniversary during the school holidays?? Go Geocaching with GeoHubby (GNARwhal) and GeoDaughter (UnicornLex) of course!!!
Our last cache of the day, and GeoHubby hit 200 finds!
An easy find but the container isn’t waterproof and the log is very wet. Have added some waterproof paper. TFTC

Out for a walk whilst waiting for a flight. I'm not much of a plane spotter so moved on after finding the cache. TFTC
GOSH, I have sat at this spot every week for the last 5 weeks waiting to pick some one up from the airport and I only just realised there is a cache here, found out in the open, so rehid again, thanks for the cache exodus722
Up and going very early this morning as I have to head to the air port to grab my flight ️ but as always I make sure to allow time to nab a cache or two along the way and it was a nice walk out to the airport this morning.

School holiday mission to Miramar peninsula. Super quick find as the cache was out in the open and the lid was not on. Log was dry, which was a surprise until we noticed it was found the day before. Re-hid as per hint.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Had fallen out, added a small rock to provide some weight and put back where we think it should be.
