More of a “Did Not Look” than a “Did Not Find”. Stage 1 wasn’t accessible as there was a work crew putting up hoarding and scaffolding.
One end of the tool for step 1 has a hole, and some putrid water fell out when I fished out the log... Unfortunately it's all wet inside. Great hide though. This could use an update.
In Auckland visiting my brother. Had worked this one out a while ago but didn’t have a pen to log. Paper is wet. Was a fun cache to solve. Thanks
Out for dinner in Auckland with our son and daughter and friend we decided to go finish this cache. Had solved it a few weeks back but didn’t have a pen to write on the log. Cache completed. Log was a bit wet. Enjoyed this one, great little hiding places. Thanks
OMG! Finally! I had so much trouble finding the final co-ords - I think the red marbles may be missing? Totally love the concept though! Got it in the end thanks to someone on the NZ geocaching facebook group. TFTC
I actually spotted the stage 2 part first and wondered about it. Finding stage 1 answered that. Dusk was approaching and I found it rather difficult to sort them. Using all the information it didn't take too long to locate the cache. A great idea for a multi.
The first step wasn’t on the right place. Lay in the grass. There were only a few marbles left so we didnt find the right coordinate.
One BLUE MARBLE IS MISSING, I adjusted the cache description to have this issue into consideration
We had a lot of fun doing this cache today! So easy - when we had counted everything, we went to the final location and Steffix immediately had the correct idea where to search - so I went there - had a little bit to climb over lots of branches - and yippie - there it was! We signed the log and put a Fav in . Thanks for all the information and the fun cache! Greetings from Germany, Cuxine
Had a great time with a group of geocachers looking for this. It took a little time but with everyone thinking and looking we were successful. Thanks a very interesting cache 2qt2bstr818.
After the welcome event we all went for this simple multi.
We thought simple......
First we counted wrong and then we recognized that obviously one "blue" is missing.

After our event a small group went to this cache. It took us longer as expected cause after searching at the wrong place we studied the logs and the information that one blue marble was missing.
Calculate again and at least we all could sign the log.

I arrived at the event 50 minutes early, so I popped over to this one to see if I could make some progress. I found Stage 2 first, and was able to operate it, but I didn't know what to do. After a bit more searching, I spotted Stage 1 and 'all became clear'. Unfortunately, I was unable to discern the necessary information, so I headed to the event.
At the end of the event, I convinced five others to come over and help me out of my dilemma. We did the calculation, but came up with a location over by the cycle way. That produced nothing, so we returned to the church. Each of us took a different part and tried a blind search for the cache. Again, no luck.
We went back to Stage 2 and repeated the work. Once we applied the correction from Geo-Nic, we got closer and eventually found the cache. Oddly enough this was the third time I was at this place. TFTC.

I took an early morning walk down from my hotel to try to find this cache. I found the 2nd item 1st which was a bit confusing. I pondered what to do for a while before I finally spotted the 1st item. Ah ha! Lights went on and I followed instructions. Some interesting numbers emerged from the process and I had a good idea where to go next. Took a wee while to find the cache as it had slipped down a level. I signed the log and replaced it as per the hint. Very clever multi. TFTC, Biggles.
Very creative! One of the blue ones seems to be missing; by adding one I got to an area fitting to the hint and got the cache.

This was a very inventive cache, which we managed to solve on our first afternoon in Auckland. However, we did not find the actual cache on that occasion, perhaps we just wished to avoid the rubbish We returned the following day and found it immediately, taking full note of the hint provided in part 1.
Cool idea for a multi, we got the marbles moving but could not find anything at stage 3. Following the lead of others in the comments, we skipped to the end and were able to find it based on the hint at stage 1. Tftc
On our last day in NZ, I walked a little bit through Auckland. I also came to St.Paul Church, a very beautiful building. The stages were easily found and after some counting problems also the coords of the final. There the cache was easily found - thanks to the hint.

On my annual visit to Auckland, ready to geocache after dropping my kids at their grandparents’ for Christmas. I enjoyed finding several from this series last Christmas, so I targeted this cache first.
I attended Auckland University in the 1990s and my hall of residence was in this area. I walked past St Paul’s every day on my way to class. It was lovely to revisit today.
Found the tool at Stage 1 easily enough but struggled with Stage 2. Encouraged by others’ success, and the hint, I used my geo senses to track down the cache. TFTC

Cool ideas but marbles didn't work. We still managed to find the cache though! We came on a Sunday evening. Can't imagine doing this one when all the uni student muggles are around or when church is in session. Tftc
Like a previous finder we found that the second bit was impossible to do, but also figured out the final location from the hints. Thanks for this. I love the idea of the challenges. Looking forward to doing all of this series.
Was over this way in the afternoon, so before I caught the bus, I decided to try this short multi. Found the first stage easy enough, but couldn't get the marbles to move for the second part. However that didn't matter as I quickly checked out a place that fitted the description and hint. Soon spotted the replacement container. Another good fun cache in this series, TFTC
In the city while Mrs B and Tinytree went to a show, I had 3 hours to spare so decided to clear as many remaining caches as I could. This is the 3rd time we have visited this cache; we figured most of it out the first time but it started raining so had to leave before we could do much of a search. The second time was after the night cache up the road but extensive search did not reveal the cache - it now seems lie it was missing. Thanks Merlot & Jag for replacing this; this was the last of the entire series we need to get to complete it. Thanks for a great series - we enjoyed all of your hides and it is a shame you still aren't here to give us some more.
We were out with Merlot58 and Aiden29. This was our last cache for the day before heading downtown for a fancy ice-cream at Giapo. Like previous finders, we had problems with the marbles. After a thorough search at GZ, a previous finder confirmed the cache was missing. Fortunately we had a replacement cache in the car, so replaced the cache. Thanks for the fun.
We attempted this a few weeks back but had problems with the marbles but calculated where we thought the cache would be, but failed to find it. We were on our way for some post caching icecream from the best icecream shop in the city (Giapo) so stopped to have another look with a previous finder who confirmed the cache was missing. Knowing the CO had left the country we replaced the container
Couldn't get the marbles moved. Pretty jammed. So we didn't know the coordinates... Pity!
But nice idea anyway, we will come back later.
But nice idea anyway, we will come back later.
Unfortunately the stage two mechanism has become jammed so it was no possible to complete the puzzle - we speculated about where the final might be and took a guess but we couldn't come up with a cache at the final. Definitely needs some maintenance and TLC, which it deserves as is a good idea, to be sure.
Having found two other local multi caches I headed to this one where I began looking in the wrong place as my GPSr was bouncing around a bit.
Despite being in the wrong place I was looking for the item as referred in step one and what's that? Turns out to be the cache so was completed without playing marbles!
Thanks for the placement 2qt2bstr818.

Found on my first full day in Auckland that led me around the city at first and eventually up to the beautiful one tree Hill to pick up a virtual cache and enjoy a great view over Wellington. Despite rainfall later at night and getting lost and wet before returning home, I enjoyed this place a lot. Overall a fantastic day and a great introduction to New Zealand. I've had a lot of fun and thanks to the owners for all the nice caches.
After the St Paul's cache I had to come over here and try my luck. Despite not being able to do the marbles, I did have a hunch of where the cache might be.. and that's where it was. TFTC!

Left PC1J3R for its onward journey to Singapore. Nice little challenge.BarxetaChris
Three catchers plus three muggles spent four weeks in New Zoeland and so we browsed along our way. This was the only mystery we found here, as we spent two night in hotel. TFTC
Four weeks we spent together with Lwagnero and Geoded wandering through the beautiful New Zealand and occasionally also searched caches. This was one of them that we found. Thanks and greetings from Czech Republic.
I was not able to count the marbles because they are completely stuck. I could not even get 1 out...
Cache found thanks to the hint.

The start of my birthday cache run, and decided to clear off the string of multis in the area. The first stage was easily spotted at GZ, and though I wasn't sure what the tool is, the info was easily retrieved, and onwards to stage 2. Unlike the others, I had no complaints about the marbles (didn't lose any on site either, both figuratively and literally). A little force was all it took. It was a this juncture, a lady turned up and asked if I was caching, and wished me good luck proceeding beyond the point where she failed previously. I recorded my observations, got the coords, and made my way to the final where a cache in a tight location awaits. Grabbed it, signed log and all was well. TFTC and a FP here!
Another great multi on a great sunday in auckla d weather is still playing the game
Its normal for us to make a hash of multis but we nailed this one from start to finish. Zipped through stage one, zapped through stage two & within a handful of moments had the Final in hand. A very enjoyable multi. TFTMC
I was up in Auckland this week attending a conference so took the opportunity to do some geocaching while I was here.
An interesting puzzle. I did have trouble with the loop marker so had to reverse and start from the other direction but finally got some numbers to work with. It was then off to the final and after a short search found the cache nicely tucked away. TFTC+Fav for the puzzle.

Was a night of DNFs! Found step 1 easy enough but didn't read the information properly and didn't see step 2. Will try again some other time.

keška hned vedle prvního ubytování neodolala... pěkný kostel, pěkně udělaná keška, jen někdo zalomil kousek klacku uvnitř, tak nám to chvilku trvalo

We felt that Step 1 really wasn't as it should be, and Step 2 wasn't working as per instructions and it all needs to be looked at. We only fluked the final really.
A shame this one wasn't working quite right, but managed to get to the final regardless, fun series, great waypoints. Thanks for the hide 2qt2bstr818

As Aiden said, we thought we got the necessary info from the 2nd part, but as often as Aiden tried she couldn't get logical co-ords! We had a lot of trouble with the marbles. So minutes later we found the cache anyway and signed ourselves in regardless.
Took my sister (casaba3) caching today and it was my intention to try and get all the AFWT Serie caches we could today after having found some of them 12 days ago - thought my sister would appreciate them so we did those ones again at the beginning of the day. After making a loop from Downtown we came to this cache and yet again saw Gorby, Aiden29 and UrbanGypsy but they didn't want us to see where they all were because they were signing the log. So off we went to step 1 which didn't fit the description given although we managed to get to the instructions for the rest. Step two appeared to have a blockage but still managed to get to a number of them using a tool we had. Then we guessed the rest and, with the knowledge of where abouts we saw the others we made a find of the final. Love the ingenuity of this one. Think I have to give it an FP even though it wasn't working as it should.
I woke up this morning only to remember that there was a certain e-mail puzzle I had yet to look at and solve. Made a coffee, opened the e-mail and spent the next 15 minutes solving the puzzle. After entering the code I knew what I had to do and I decided I would head off with my other half into town. He had a thing he was going to, but there was no reason I could not have a wander and maybe grab a cache. This one has been on my list for a while, but after heading to GZ a couple of times there were always muggles sitting around. Today was my lucky day, only distracted muggles heading by and no-one paying attention. Stage one was easily in hand, but stage two, boy that mechanism did not want to work. After a while though I soon had the final in hand and the log signed. Thanks for the cache and cool idea. Not sure if I loved this one or hated it after a while. Interesting history also. #596
Last multi today, another clever idea, we too had trouble with the marbles but close enough to locate the final, Aidan29 made a quick grab. A great caching day with Aidan29, Gorby and Supernanny thanks for making our caching days fun with such creative caches.
Out today with Urbangypsynz and Gorby collecting cache's around town. We struggled with the second part of this cache, unable to get numbers that worked with the coordinates. However, we had someone point out the final and managed to find the cache and sign the log.
Only one cache we wanted to find today and it as a multi, out and about with Pagenz who managed to look in the appropriate place gleaned from previous logs. Had difficulty with the mechanism but made the find. TFTC
Took my muggle daughter off for some fresh air and this multi was my choice for the souvenir from Ground speak. We started well but found the mechanism jammed. So reading the past logs I went to a place I thought looked cache worthy and there it was. T4tc
Went into the city this afternoon with yorkshirekiwi83, specifically to target a few caches with more than 10 favourite points to earn a GC souvenir for the day. Soon found the final, after negotiating the garden waste at GZ, then got muggled by a church worker collecting rubbish - I said I was geocaching and thankfully he had heard of it! TFTC!
Well this was not a short multi for us. everything got stuck we got confused we couldn't find the final only to discover there has been a whole lot of green waste dumped at gz that we had to climb over. didn't help we did it in the dark. got there in the end. Day three of our 4 day road trip from Hawkes Bay to Auckland and back to collect as many caches as we can. Log signed as b&p.Tftc
Vamber and I were in town grabbing a couple of multi's. We got to this one and quickly found the tool and where the items were located. Couldnt work out how they all went together, but using a bit of logic we worked out where the final was, and sure enough we had it quickly in hand.

Decided to grab a couple of multis in the area with yorkshirekiwi83, and this cache was one of the ones we decided to tackle. Unfortunately, we had a bit of trouble trying to get the magnets to co-operate in order to count the marbles. However, after a bit of deduction, we were able to pinpoint the location of the final, and were soon signing the log. Thanks for the cache.
Thank you for another amazing field puzzle !
So nice to havd a quick one that doesn't involve too much rushing around !
As it was after 6pm I managed to get a free park in Princes steeet which was a bonus !
(Did the nearby Albert House one too ! )

Tricky on a wet afternoon. A few self imposed obstacles to surmount and then got it. All hints cords and clues spot on. TFTC
After stuffing up step 1 and dropping the magnet in the pipe i thought all hope was lost. Luckily got the info out safely. Cache was easy to find. Tftc! #752
I did the initial legwork for this cache yesterday morning with only a little time to spare before work...I did the counting required and worked out the final coordinates so that I could come back this morning. After tackling the excellent Albert Park House multi I stopped by to finalize this equally worthy cache. Another really well thought out set of field puzzles and another favorite from me. TFTC! #989
Found first 2 clues but the rest was a mission! Had no idea how to get cache location from marbles?? Also one member of our group dropped two marbles, so order may have been messed up! Might need to be checked and fixed. Also a little help on how to get final coordinates would be much appreciated!
Had to wait this one out with alpenmilch80 as the park bench we used to do our calculations already had some non-caching guests, but with some other caches nearby to do we were able to fill in the time easily enough.
Finally managed to get some peace and went about completing the formalities. Didn't take too long once we were under way and soon had the nicely hidden cache in hand.
Good fun and another one down for the evening. TFTC

In the CBD together with evilno9 to solve the local nightcache and collect a couple of other multi’s along the way. Walked by, but had to move on as a couple of locals had a smoke at GZ. We returned later that night but the party was still going. Decided to circle the church to see if we can find a further stage. No such luck. Just when we were about to give up the group left due to a close by police control.
I enjoyed playing with the marbles and we soon had new coordinates calculated. Another great geocache in the city. Well done. TFTC

Another innovative cache, up to your usual high standard, thanks.
Was a little surprised though, when I started groping around for the Final, to have a LARGE RAT dart out towards me. I jumped back, and he scuttled back to his hole. Hoping I was wrong about the placement, I scouted the area for other matches to the clue. However, I soon realised I needed to go back in. Found the cache quickly, signed it, and returned it, without arousing the Guardian again!

Very different and innovative. Worked my way through the tasks to a successful conclusion. Another favorite. Tftc
Out on a sunny afternoon to complete the 3 multis in the AFWT series which were left to find. There is a nice convenient seat at GZ where I could rest and read the description. There were heaps of students around, but they were too busy to notice an old guy studying the walls of the church. The stages were quickly completed and the log signed. Another great cache and a fav for this one. TFTC.
Another favourite from us in this series. Out with GERNITA. And they were the last to sign this on the 28/3. TFTC.
Another nice hide with a lot of work put into it and another fave point from us! TFTC
Geocaching venture w/ dark angel after seeing a recent series pop up in the city!
#72 Found another geocacher - beconaze - again by accident, so I decided to cross the road and came back again as they were finishing up.
We were a bit lost without realising we hadn't done step 1 correctly and hadn't extracted the clue. Puzzle was very clever and the originality from the CO in this series is smart. Didn't take long after to get to GZ and I found this one while darkangel rehid the tools. TFTC.

Was on a mission with mikefnz to complete as much of this series as we could today. Got to first co-ords pretty easily and bumped into fellow cachers beconaze again. Waited for them to figure it out first and set the instructions back again. We retrieved the tool afterwards and stupidly went to the second step without retrieving the instructions first. Everything made sense with instructions and we headed off to GZ. Hint made so much sense once at GZ so it was a quick grab and headed off on our way not long after.
Completed the available AFWT Series on a fine Easter Saturday. We must say this cache series is the best we have seen in a long time and shows the considerable effort that has gone in but the CO. Most are very clever and they are definitely not the typical park and grabs we see a lot of these days.
A series of this quality in downtown area is certainly going to make a geo-tourist very pleased.
I see in some of the logs there have been a few problems with Muggles on some but this is probably a likely event is such a public area. We certainly tried to be careful with a lookout as much as we could(Mr and Mrs beconaze).
We are certainly going to dish out a pile of favorite points for you on the series so thanks again for the efforts.

I was browsing the mother site, as you do, when I noticed that this cache had been recently published. Conveniently placed not far from work. I decided that a lunch time excursion was in order. Spotted the first waypoint on approach and the second shortly after that (I am a bit dubious about such an attachment here). Quickly worked out how to retrieve the hint, which was soon in hand. Processed the data at WP2 and soon had a likely set of coordinates. Made my way to GZ, but was beaten by a couple of construction workers enjoying their lunch. I had a brief look, but soon decided to opt for the wait-them-out approach. On my return I found the coast clear and after a brief search the hint finally made sense and their was the final. Cheers for the cache placement!
Seeing that there are no logs for this cache, Mr.S started early for the work. Saw the funny looking thing at stage 1 and noticed stage 2 also immediately. The tool at stage 1 and cap came on hand quite easily on first touch. Got the container out and went through the clue for next stage. Quickly counted the marbles and calculated final. It was showing 400 meters away and middle of road. Felt something is wrong and soon found the grave mistake. Recounted the marbles, and now got the real final coords. Got the final without much trouble. Marked #31 [FTF] and left the scene soon.Thank you 2qt2bstr818 for the cache.
