Log needs replacing and cache was found on the ground out away for GZ. Placed where should be but it is not magnetic
An interesting location. Nice to discover this spot thanks the cache. Interesting info about the fire tower. Having not been to Scotland I imagined it to be a bit like this with the countryside and rock fences. Thanks for the adventure. I found the nano on the grass and seems to have lost its magnet.
On our way to Warrnambool for the school holidays we called in here for a quick stop because we probably wont be back this way again for awhile.
Find number 12965 at 10:25:24am on Sunday the 25 February 2024Well, I'm on my way, Adelaide here we come. I have seven days to get there and I'm travelling via the wiggly geocaching road so I hope I've allowed enouth time Today I'm travelling down to the Fitzroy River via Lorne, Colac, Warrnambool and Port Pairy. Found all my targets bar one so, not a bad day on the trip.A quick find here today. In the area again for work today and slowly but surely collecting all the smiley faces. This road was surprisingly busy this morning. Signed as DH to save room on the logbook. All is in good condition here
With dot558 travelling from cobden to Geelong and detoured for this one,Both biros would not write on the log. Thanks for cache
We have got way behind in our logging and are trying to catch up and get our caching in order.Life has been pretty hectic this year, and a lot of it has gotten in the way of efficient logging of finds. We want to thank all the Cache owners for providing an array of caches for us around our countryside and in our cities. We apologise for the generic logs. We must do this to get through the backlog.Unless otherwise specified, all the caches we found were in good order.Thank you, South-West, for this Traditional cache.
I made the quick detour off the nearby A1 while on my way out to Portland for the weekend. After a short drive off the main road, I soon found myself at GZ. While sitting in my car for a few moments to let my GPS get more accurate coordinates, I looked out the window and could see the cache attached to an item applicable to the hint. I quickly grabbed the cache before returning to my car to sign the logsheet. With the logsheet signed, it was now time to roll it back up. Easier said than done! After struggling for longer than I would like to admit, I fortunately soon had the logsheet rolled back up and fitting snugly back in the cache. I quickly returned the container to its hiding spot before vacating the area and continuing on my way. TFTC
Today was a spontaneous decision to hit the caching trail again. This came after a relaxing start to the day, so grabbing some sustaining supplies from Born and Bread, we headed off to the south-west. Despite a moist start to the day, we managed to stay rain free, only catching a very light shower, and returning to the Jinkymobile in a timely manner. TNLN, SL, TFTC.

Decided to do a little roadtrip to try finish my LGA challenge and so today was the day. Up bright and early load car and away we went. Mutley in back seat and Joolz in front seat.
Spotted the tower. On the one and only hill hahah.
Thanks for the adventure South-West!

We don't often get to detour along this section of the road and with a little time up the sleeve today we were able to appreciate the lovely views. TFTC
We dropped by this cache on our way to Port Fairy for week's holiday. The geobeagles needed a break after the long drive so we all got out of the car and walked along the very quiet road. There was only one place to hide a cache at GZ so we spotted the small cache easily and the taller member of our team retrieved it. We signed the log at 4:00 pm and then returned the cache to its hiding spot. TNLN.
Thanks South-West for the well hidden cache in a very picturesque location. Before continuing on to Port Fairy we took a some photos of the Mt Porndon fire tower, the stone walls and the typical Aussie landscape.

We continued today our tour in Victoria, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to South-West for the generation of this nice cache Mt Porndon Tower (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

On my way down to Warrnambool for a bit of caching.
Collected a few on the way down and some in town when the shops closed.
I was expecting to drive up to the tower, but the GPSr had me turning a while before it.
A nice view from here though, and some great stone fences in this area.
Thanks, Robmc.

27,363. Found with minniek during our long weekend trip down to the Geelong Region.
With a Community Celebration Event on offer today, and my son living nearby, minniek and I decided to make a mini long weekend of it and come down from Goulburn for some quality caching and social events. We left Goulburn at 2pm yesterday and arrived at our hotel in Geelong last night at 10pm - perfect ! Up early this morning, and we had a couple of hours up our sleeve before the CCE, so we targeted some Virtuals and other cool sounding caches. Then it was time for the event. One of the best CCEs I've attended. Now that's over we are heading west to claim some counties. This was a nice quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks South-West !!

Fitzy_1965 and I made a plan to head to Melbourne this weekend to visit his son who lives near Geelong. The Community Celebration Event at Geelong sealed the deal.
After arriving late Friday evening, we got up early this morning to do a bit of caching before the event. Our target was some unusual types which included virtuals and letterboxes, with others thrown in for good measure.
The day was overcast which made for a good caching day. We went from Geelong proper to Warnambool and back to Maude where we attended an event and camped the night before continuing our adventures.
Thanks so much for bringing us here today.

Up with the sparrows I decided to head out and find a few caches in the western districts. I intended to have an easy day, but that soon changed as the day progressed, but that’s the joys of caching,
I was hoping to get to the top, but a view will do. A quick find was made here.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the Traditional cache south-West

Attempting to catch up on some seriously overdue logs. Sorry it has taken soooooo long.
This is the first day or our Millicent, not Millicent, maybe Millicent trip. We will see how things are going when we get closer.
This was a nice quick find with OzHockeyChick, Roaming Howie and Geoturtle37. This one had a lot of snickering and giggles and was not what we expected. Thanks for the cache.

A long awaited road trip, originally planned for the Millicent Mega weekend. However due to possible SA border issues, we’re only doing the Vic sections. Joined by Papi4506 & Geoturtle37, RoamingHowie and I are finally on the road to adventure!
DAY 1: Melbourne to Panmure.
Not quite what we were expecting, but good views from here.

Day #1 of a new adventure in Western Victoria. I think we are up to the 8th iteration of this trip. Initially planned as our Millicent road trip, it changed to a delayed VIC only trip, back to an SA trip with border announcements, then back to a VIC only trip when the finer details were revealed. Nonetheless we are out exploring again with today is focused on the journey from Melbourne to Panmure.
A little different to what we expected based on the name. Lots of snickering also. A quick find at GZ.
Thanks South-West for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Decided to go out for a bit of a drive today to locate some caches. Headed of in the Colac direction and took a slight detour to find this little fella TFTC
Co- ordinates jumping around a lot, probably due to crazy weather. Signed new log. TFTC.
Heading home from Portland, I picked a small number of caches to break my journey. Nice quick find and I was back on my way.
My thanks to South-West for the cache.

A 5 day caching run, over the 2020/2021 New year period saw me leave on the Thursday the 31st of December and travel to the Brisbane Ranges, down to Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland, the up to Heywood, Dunkfield and Horsham, camping along the way. On the Saturday I met up with my caching partner, ilukaperi at the home of choocknchunk, where we spread the coronavirus around as much as we could. Enjoyed some 4wding around the Mt Cole area before making our way back home on the Monday.
This was my first day. Leaving home from Emerald, I travelled through the city and down towards Warrnambool. Grabbing some select caches along the way and nabbing some others just because. Had a great mix of caches today and at the end of the day found a campsite by a lake to see in the new year, quietly, by myself.
Driving through the area, I stopped off to grab this cache too. Interesting spot, TFTC!

We are staying at Lake Purumbeet for a few days after spending Christmas at Wurdiboluc. Then on to Beaufort for an event.
We headed out in the late afternoon hoping to get to the tower but the gates were well and truly locked.
The magnetic bit has stopped sticking so the cache may not survive much longer.
Thanks for the cache South-West

Dropped my wife at the Camperdown Hospital and since they wouldn't allow me in due to COVID-19 restrictions I headed out to grab a few local caches. After 2 DNFs in a row I happy with a quick find here.

My second visit to this one, the first ime it appears to have been on the ground. Today it was an easy find.
Found the little blighter. Forst time ive had to stand on my tailgate to retrive a cache! Tftc
Have been avoiding this over a year due to being a micro. Finally went with TheRaudinoTribe today and got it. Lucky her car is raised.

I checked this one today and it’s fine. I had to stand on the car to reach the cache. A lady from the nearby house came over to ask me what I was doing and said she was wondering why so many people looked around this spot.
Quick find but cache was on the ground. We have replaced it where we thought it should be. We did wonder what the neighbours must think about visitors finding that spot so interesting! Tftc.
Got to this one on the way to the event, and although it was pretty obvious what I was looking for (subsequently confirmed), I couldn't find it. Could of course be just me.
Third find for today on the way to Terang to catch up with friends.
he view from the house above the cache would be terrific I think.

Doing a tour of the area after attending the events in Colac this morning.
Thanks for placing Mt Porndon Tower so we could find it. Many thanks South-West for the caching fun.

I've spent a bit of time working in Warrnambool lately, and each return trip (when my time is my own) warrants a diversion for caching.
Used the hint for an easy find at an obvious location.

Heading west we stopped along the road to do some caching. No problems here. A fire emergency unit trackckable come for a visit. TFTC.
After having been at the Parkville Mega event, we are now on our way west and caching as we go, of course. There was no trouble finding the cache and the log was soon signed before we put the cache back where it had been found and headed off again. Our thanks go to South-West for this cache placement and for adding to the caching game.
A short detour heading towards Camperdown. SPotted the tower and then Tagalong found the cache. Pretty windy and cold after the car ride.

After celebrating a friends birthday yesterday in great style at Coragulac House, the party then moved to a paddock complete with huge bonfire and camping facilities at nearby Alvie. What better way to spend today but caching with a circuit of Lake Corangamite I hope that the firespotters here never again need to report fires on a day like 2009 TFTC South-West
Find # 5121
Found while heading down to the Glow worms event.
I had it all this day, torrential rain, galeforce winds, sunshine, and on one flat plain it was totally calm.
I only needed to change my shoes once, due to wet long grass. And thankfully I managed to keep relatively dry while grabbing caches.
It was a long day as I left home just after 10am and got back just around 11pm.

Logger said he'd put a new cache there. Considering it is supposed to be magnetic it had to be either the sign or the guide post. Neither had a magnetic cache on them.

So I... errrrr.... I dropped the cache into the long grass and then I couldn't find it! Ooooops! Well it needed a new logbook so I replaced the whole cache with one I had in the car. So, new cache, new logbook, all good? I hope so. So sorry, I can send the cache owner a photo of the replacement cache if necessary. Thanks for the cache, South-West.

Today we can gladly turn this previous DNF into a smiley. For some reason we were searching for a bigger micro last time and thought for sure it was gone but after talking to a previous finder they assured us it was still in place. We managed to get our name on the very full log book which is in need of replacing.
Thanks South-West for the hide.
Thanks South-West for the hide.
I had been meaning to return to this general area to grab these newly published hides. I was meeting some fellow cachers at Lake Corangamite at 1:00 this afternoon, so I decided to get an early start. With the combination of a sunny morning and some fantastic country side, this was a very rewarding road trip. Thanks to all of the CO's for their hides. I was tempted to drive up to the tower, but I moved on. TFTC South-West
