We drive today from Wombayan Caves to Kangaroo Valley. We took the scenic-route.Even with a 4WD (with trailer) it was a challenge. Doable, bit we didn't drive faster as 20km/h, the first part. The second part is better, and then there are geocaches, so we have a nice journey. My friends didn't want to stay long as there was a dead wombat next to the road. After a quick scan I had to leave, couldn't find it.
Was going the other way. Track is good to the caves. Think they are Reopening soon.
Wet logbook so left a piece of paper.
Thanks for placing

Great hide , service on phone wasn’t great but we got there in the end!

We were out for a 'stroll' in Joadja Nature Reserve today and somewhat surprisingly, there was a cache to collect right at the parking spot! Honest, it wasn't even organised that way! A quick find before we set off for the day. Perfect weather and the landscape here is stunning. TFTC
Quick stop to grab this one. Some nutbag wanna be cop blocked me in to tell me not to drive around here. TFTC
For us it was the beginning of the sealed road and almost the end of today’s adventure. TFTC
OCW Stumble's Mate today to clean up some more caches in and around the Goulburn area. We cleaned up the Mt Grey series and after refueling, out to Crookwell and home via Wombeyan Caves Road and so glad we did!! These views are magnificent!
OCW StumbleTrip today to clean up some more caches in the Goulburn area.
After cleaning up the Mt Grey series and stopping for a bite to eat, we decided to head out to Crookwell and home via Wombeyan Caves. Some of the views we had along the way were magnificent, so if you are thinking of heading out this way......do it!
Epic day out and all caches found were in good condition.
Thanks to CO's for their hides!

Well, it’s been a while since I had an all day Cache binge, and also since I headed to the Southern Highlands- well lately the two things go hand in hand.
So to keep my finds moving I was hoping for at least 15 finds today.
But another problem... I only have 207 points in the Cache Carnival event. And I need 500 by April 15 to get the final souvenir. So I was also hoping for at least 100 points today, and targeted a few caches worth 25 points each. Looks like I got a touch over 130!
Pity I had two DNFs in the mix.
Still, I met the day’s targets. Can’t say fairer than that.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
I have “fond memories” of Wombeyan Caves Road. OK, I don’t. The last, and only time I drove it my car broke down. Luckily I was in a convoy and one of our number was a mechanic, and was able to fix it. But today I’m not in convoy and I have no mechanic on tap. So, the question is just how far am I prepared to go?
Well, got here and spotted the camo from 10 metres. Nice and easy.
Completed signing duties and replaced.
OK... I’ll go to the next one.

I may have dropped a TB in this cache but I'm not sure. I will list it in cache GC6G4CH as this could have also been the cache I might have left it in.

No turning back for us, places to go, caches to find, including this one, easily.
fitzy_1965 and I headed out from Goulburn to pick up all the caches along the Wombeyan Caves Rd. Once we had completed the earth cache, the finds were much faster.
Easy find at GZ but picked up a splinter under my nail....ouch!

A quick find, no chance I was turning back today, it was on to Crookwell and places in between.
TFTC cache has been moved so we put it back in the position we think it should should’ve been in
Taking the long way to Sydney Justjessie and I first finished off he Taragla Trek series and then the caches along the Wombeyan Caves Road. Thanks for all the CO's was the first time along this road and we enjoyed it very much.
Is there a better way to spend a lovely winter day than out and about geocaching with some lovely friends? I think not!! Headed out with HappyUke, Halcyon123 and our brilliant driver for the day, Finalf29, tackling the Wombeyan Caves road/Taralga trek. Felt very professional - we even had little pre-made stickers for the log books at the ready! Managed to get 48 for the day - definitely a new personal record Much thanks to my GeoPals for an awesome day and to the COs for well situated and maintained caches.
Find #4 for the day. A nice easy stop, which involved a tiny bush bash. HappyUke got a little bit gps-fuddled- for once I headed in the right direction. TFTC

Out and about with my besty Happy Uke and two and her friends Halcyon123 and Nacki22. Great company and a great day caching.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Out on a geoday with HappyUke, Finalf and Nacki22. Watch where you step.. bit of a pit stop here it seems. A good size cache in rest condition. Left a swap, took nothing. Tftc.
Another geocaching day for the girls (Halcyon123, Nacki22 and me), this time we were going to tackle the Wombeyan caves/ Taralga circuit. Finalf29 decided to come along as well and thank goodness he did... we couldn't have asked for a better chauffeur. A BIG thank you to all the CO's of these caches... we had the best day with beautiful weather, great caches and wonderful company. Finalf29 and I found 45 for the day.
This was our seconds for the day. Circled in to GZ. Halcyon123 and Nacki22 printed up stickers with our names and date for the log books...such a great idea when caching big numbers. Not turning back, as we have just started. Thanks

Today was the day to find the Wombeyan Road caches and the Joadja road caches. Came from Taralga side and ended at Joadja cemetery. Then back to Goulburn down the Hume. The Wombeyan road was not as bad as I thought it would be. Found all caches I looked for, and caches were in good condition. Thanks all for showcasing this area with these hides. Tftc
A good spot! Lota of birds around. Only took a short stoll to find it. Happy caching!
The Earthbound Series was on the books today. I've been meaning to head out here for too long! I've become more cautious/hesitant about driving into the unknown by myself, but I was interested in driving this technical road. It soon became apparent that Wombeyan Caves Road isn't as "dangerous" as I had remembered it to be! I had a great time driving out to the Wombeyan Karst Conservation Reserve - I'm sure I'll be back soon enough.
Thanks for the caches, I appreciate the effort put into hiding and maintaining these ones!

#1497 Seventeenth of twenty two finds on a Sunday's caching around Berrima, Joadja and Mittagong. Found after a short search TFTC
In the neighbourhood for Elixir Camp II at Camp Wombaroo. Thanks for pointing out the lovely drive!
Cool cache. Lots of nice goodies, but unfortunately we couldn't exchange anything as we had nothing on us to exchange.
Found on a great day caching with Geoson. The road is rather trying, in fact it is 'horribillis' TFTC
The WEEO and I didn't really grasp the gravity of the end of the bitumen until about 4 hours later when we hit the bitumen on the other side. Great views though! TFTC.
Found on the 3 July 2016, delayed posting due to technical (phone and brain) issues. TFTC
Being anticipating the chance to do Joadja and Wombeyan caves caches for some time. Today I finally got around to doing it.
From Goulburn up the Hume towards Berrima I made my way to Joadja and along Wombeyan caves road all the way to Taralga and back home.
Wow! Some amazing sights and some great caches. I was getting low on my supply of favourite points but had no choice but to give a few out along the way! Some great caches!
Dropped some trackables along the way and picked up a few too!
Thanks to the cache owners whos caches I found today really well done and hope to see some more around the area for an excuse to come back.
Seven hours later, a few close calls on the bends around the valley, two dead wombats and nearly hitting a roo I'm safe to say I've made it home and can't express how much I enjoyed today!

Driving past didn't need to turn back, after the GPS settled soon located the cache. Signed the log and replaced. Thanks to AsTheCrowsFly.
TFTC,
In the area and so great to escape the world. No phone, TV or even Geocaching, so very good for relaxing, even managed to read a bit of a Novel. On our way home after this weekend of isolation and the temptation got to great after driving past a few green boxes on the GPS. Decided to give in and do a few caches.
After traveling through the tunnel, I made a quick find. Visited trackables.

Now for the fun part!?!

Toriaz had been along this road about five years ago. This was my first time. She described it as a little hairy in places, and the name for this cache didn't help paint a rosier picture. I must have been distracted by it, because I replaced the cache without the log book, then realised it was in my hand, so had to retrieve the cache again to put it back. Thanks
11957. Found during a run up to Sydney today.
Work trip to Sydney, and so I took the opportunity to stretch my legs a few times on the way up - lol. I haven't driven this road for a few years and today I only had the time to get to the end of the tar and grab the three caches along the way. Last stop for this mini series for now so I could turn around and continue to Sydney. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then it was back on the road to the next one.
Thanks again AsTheCrowsFly' !!

TURN BACK?! ARE YOU KIDDING? THIS IS THE FUN WAY TO WOMBEYAN CAVES!
I finally managed to convince my family to go and stay the weekend at the cave reserve and enjoy the labyrinth underground. I have been exploring wild caves for around 5 years and have enjoyed every minute of it, but have struggled to spread the joy to the rest of my household. Until now.
2 cars loaded up with everything needed to GLAMP (stay in the dorms there, bunk beds and a heater in a room is as far as they would go for camping. I have to start somewhere. Hopefully I'll manage to talk them down to a tent at some point!) But the other driver was absolutely refusing to go the fun way (along this cache trail), so it was just one car with three people, taking our time and finding caches along the way to a peaceful weekend. Most of the caches were easy finds, and we only saw 3 other cars on the whole trip.
Thanks for the cache.

I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” Throsbyonchurch and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
Found it [ ] 2:35pm. One FTF was great, two is wonderful. I am content with whatever comes now. I had no intention in collecting this cache as I thought it was probably a little bit too far to go, so resorted to Greenhills. I flew out the door with baby in arms, and harnessed in while dad hopped in the car. Heading up the road and his friend passed us so I dumped hubby on the roadside and zoomed off - what a lovely wifey I am. At Greenhills GZ I rang hubby and we agreed to my heading off to find this cache. It seemed a no brainer being this close. I drove past not realising I had gone too far, so went to the tunnel and came back. Couldn't find at first as gps/mobile was jumping around, widened my search and then I got wind of the scent of a cache. With CIH log was signed and returned to its hide'y hole. Would be great to move on down the track but I had to make it back to town and pickup geokid. Thanks for the cache and two FTFs. Can't say I'm keen to go bush by myself, i'm a bit of a chicken that way.
