Logs
Considering the amount of silt and debris in the fence, I'm surprised this cache has survived.
Log is full, can please be replaced. Unfortunately I did not bring one with me
Lovely drive. In 3 weekends I have now found all 3 huts. Sadly this is the least well kept but glad to see it appears undamaged from last years cyclone
In the morning I left Hastings in sunny and warm weather and in the evening I arrived in the cold and rain of the Tongariro National Park. The road was nice and scenic, so I stopped at various monuments and railway bridges and hunted for caches. I had several DNFs today and some caches were wet and logbooks were full. Still, thanks to all owners for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
A bit of a sad story but what a great thing to go. Quick find on our day out.
Dieser Cache konnte heute erfolgreich geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's legen und pflegen TFTC Schmerzbefreit
Found it quickly, although log is full but was able to find the last tiny bit of room, but nothing to replace with sorry. Cheers
On our trip thru New Zealand we stopped for searching finding and logging this geocache. Thanks for placing it.Greetings from team Camperfietser
22 October 2023 12:26 The lads were orienteering, so while their race was on, I went for a drive. Glad of a quick find here, a fascinating bit of history.TFTC amyjae for placing this cache, number 13064 for me.
Today my partner is visiting her girlfriend in Napier, so what's a 'spare-wheel' man to do, but go geocaching
Came up to do the Sherendon geocache as this has really been the first opportunity since Cyclone Gabrielle in February closed the Napier-Taihape road.
Damage is still very evident even today.
It's good that this geocache is a bison as the location according to the hint meant it's been under a metre of water and mud - still evident today. It's obvious from the hut being full of debris, and being fenced off, a closer inspection is not possible.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining.

Interesting stop, would have been very cool if able to access the hut! Tftc ️
On my way to Tongariro in the rain, the whole day, I found some caches.
Thanks.
Very bad for parking.

A quick stop on our way through to Napier. Stopped to do our recycling ️ while we were at it! Neat location, TFTC!
Great find- 1st on today’s adventure. Many thanks - wouldn’t have spotted this if it wasn’t for this crazy hobby!
Headed out for an evening of caching along the Taihape road. Sadly it wasn’t my most successful outing as I had 4 finds and 4 DNF. Still I did get two swims in this boiling weather so pleased to have got out. This was the first find and reasonably straight forward. Cache and log all fine although I’m sure I got an electric shock from the fence. Thanks for the smiley.
First of only a couple of stops and parked opposite and walked over. Found exactly as described in the hint and read the plaque.
On the road at a good time today and with no real target to meet at the far end except for sometime after lunch it was a leisurely admiring view. Still some snow lying in places along the way and some good clear day views too.
The weekend is here and for a change I've got a four-dayer planned with a trip across from Taupo to Napier to have a couple of nights in Havelock North and local area, followed by a trip back across the Napier-Taihape Road to stay at our daughters for a day before watching the football on Monday and then Coming Home, he's coming home, capperz is coming home (football didn't as it turned out! Well done to Italy.
A few nice caches found, not huge numbers so quality rather than quantity. A few more of the PWGT caches as well as some others here and there, thanks to all COs.

Out toki touring with muggle friends, asked driver nicely if we could stop for a couple of minutes for me to find cache, after a short search, cache found and log signed. When back in car, questions were being asked on what caching is all about. Not sure if they will start geocaching. My first cache for 2020. Cheers
Not very keen on the crowds for the Santa parade, i decided to skip town and go for a little drive instead. Not much traffic and a quick find, TFTC!!
An interesting memorial. Never knew memorial huts were a thing until this cache. TFTC
#6981. Shortest day of the year. So little time to geocache in daylight. I am heading north to a family reunion and stayed overnight in Hastings. After a sunny day yesterday, the rain came down overnight but remarkably the clouds cleared up again soon after breakfast and it was time to find a few caches. Too many muggles around the first few caches I tried for in the city. Time to head to the countryside. At the last cache I found, I looked at my list and it said Drover Memorial Hut. This one seemed to be in a different direction to where I thought i was heading but oh well, time to follow the GPS. Only after discovering the cache did I realise there are two caches in the region with much the same names. This one was worth checking out however. The cache was a nice quick find. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks amyjae for the cache. Nice bit of rural history.
found this way back in June 2019, just found my logbook that I had them all written down in, was a big trip from Hawera to Tauranga and then down to Hatings and then Home
replaced serveral logbooks on my travels
hope everyone has as much fun as I do caching
cheers

We found this in March 2018 while driving past but forgot to log it. This time we were biking through from Taihape with a group of tramping club friends and wrote in the log again. The cache seems to be dry and while the sheet is quite full, seems to be in good order otherwise. TFTC
Quick trip away with woolwood9 for some geocaching.
No problems with making the find here.

Travelling to Hastings from SH1.
Busy road at 5pm on a Friday afternoon. Great to have a cache here as like many travelers we would have driven by without a 2nd thought. TFTC

Quick find on the way to Napier by nearly perfect weather. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
Great weather today as we make our way over Gentle Annie for the first time trying to get some caches along the way. This one was found quite quickly. Thank you for placing this cache and bringing our attention to this little hut.
Going for a drive to hopefully find some snow thought I'd pick up Afew caches on the way. Found the cache but had no log in it, have put a bit of paper in it.

A quick easy find, with the precise hint, at this well-barricaded memorial building.. TFTC
Was heading back to Palmerston North for the night after spending the last two days in the Hawkes Bay for work. Was going to take the normal route back South but had a few things that I needed to do so I decided to try another route back South.
This is the second time that I have being on this road the last time I was on this road was with Mrs Yeetrees on a road trip just over 2 years ago back in 2014 and we had managed to pick up most of the caches along this route.
Two years later and I soon found out that there was a few more caches along the Gentle Annie, what a surprise [B)][B)], it was too be expected. Wasnt quite sure how many new ones that were placed between here and Taihape but I knew that time would tell.
This was the first cache that I decided that I was going to pick up today, as I neared GZ I spotted the hint object and was able to pull over to let the fast moving traffic pass without any issues. I was glad that I was hading West as the cache was on the correct side of the road for me.
Walking to GZ and knowing approximately where this cache was going to be it only took me a few seconds to find the cache in the first spot that I looked. Signed and replaced the cache back as found, what a nice spot for a cache, would not have realised nor know about this spot if it was not for caching. Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this historical spot, TFTC TNLNSL (11131)

The last cache on the road from Turangi for TreearP and me as we also wanted to buy some wine over in the Havelock region. Thank for motivating us to stop - view the hut and read the memorial plaque.
All in good order at the cache, TNLNSL, TFTC.

Last one on the Gentle Annies road, a lovely drive through from Taihape and nice to see the tribute to one of the old Drovers.
Found this a few days ago on my way from Napier to Auckland via Waiouru. Nice to have a few more caches out this way. TFTC
[FTF] on a gorgeous HB day. We knew about the other drovers huts but not this one. The sheep on the way out here with white bodies and black heads are a bit gorgeous. I thought I lost the log when I opened cache but lucky I just hadn't looked properly. Thanks for the cache in a lovely little spot
Thanks Kenny. Title of cache is written exactly as it appears on the Drovers Hut sign. I will look into it.
