As we approached the Yarra, we could see that it had spilled its banks. At GZ there were a number of trees down, so searching was difficult and our GPS indicated that GZ was in the depths of the YARRA. So will have to try another day.
A warm morning for a hike in the hills of Warramate, searching for BonnyBlack's WW series.
Having covered some very steep terrain on the MTB around here years ago, I was a little concerned this one was going to involve some big elevation changes.
It was therefore a pleasant surprise to enjoy a relatively easy walk down to the creek.
I had to employ the good hint to make the well concealed find.

Thanks for the Cache BonnyBlack,
You took me to another magic spot, it was a great day for a walk, blue sky with a soft Southerly wind so it didn't get too hot., the Cache is in good condition. Regards from Victourer

Finally got a chance to escape for a couple of hours and went for a walk with MuggleWifeDoes, a cache or three in our targets.
What a beautiful spot, until I got to the GZ. My GPS was a little off but with the hint I was in the right spot for a quick find but the mozzies were carrying me off before I even had a chance to sign the log. Big bastards too, my signature looks like a Zorro swish because I was swinging and swatting and signing all at the same time
Cache logged with sanitised hands.

The first big adventure since second lockdown with day1976. This area is at the top of our joined 25km zones, and I knew it wouldn't be super busy! My partner came along for the hike to get out of the house.
Last cache for today, we get down to the river flat and realise this cache will be hard to get to, as the river flat is flooded because of the high rainfall we got a couple of days earlier. Day1976 found a way to get over to the embankment and then we crawled through under and over prickly plants. Swatting away mozzies we sprayed on some bushmans while looking around, then day1976 spots a likely area so I went over and found the cache.

Final one for the day.
I remember looking for the old 2002 cache very near this location many years ago. That was gone at the time, it had washed away. That cache was higher up than this one was found, so I can see this one will have issues sometime in the future.
Having said that, the water was quite high today and we got wet feet and lots of scratches as we traversed to the cache using the higher ground as the direct route was underwater.
Found by ilukaperi after a short hunt around.

Love the yell 'i got it' as we heard from geowife. Took awhile battling mozzies. Has flooded recently. Last one on this great adventure. Thank you
Lucky I had the beautiful spot to myself. Took a good 15 minutes of searching for this very clever find! GPS didn’t help much though.
Didn't find bit had 2 small tired kids who had enough.... Will try again another day
This was a good hide it’s a metal tube disgusted well in its own little hidy spot!! When is a rock not a rock??
Unfortunately didn't find this one today, but we were pushed for time so Did he have as good a look as I'd hoped
Eventually our caching luck has to run out - we were very lucky to find the other 6 caches in this series but couldn’t find anything matching the hint at this location. Great spot though, the water seemed to chuckle as is passed us by.
Well we approached this one from above, it was pretty steep to come down- we mostly slid. Half way down the GPS said 7m so we'r frantically searched whilst trying to keep our feet. I tried another app and it said 35m down... ok well that seems easier. We heard down and saw the beautiful river. The kids were bored with hunting so they made a shelter at GZ. Meanwhile GeowifeE and i searched and searched and searched. I tried different apps and different approaches... all bought ne to a particular spot. I was just investigating everything when GeowifeE shouts those magic words from 15m away. A very satisfying find this one. Now to enjoy this area.
Not enough time before GeoWife & I had to stride back to car so she could get to work. Next time. We don’t usually bother with microTubes as prefer swaps and good log books.
Had a look at all the spots which seemed to fit the hint, but to no avail. My gps wasnt much use either as it kept taking me back towards the river. Ah well, may have to come back later and give it another crack someday. Lovely spot regardless
A beautiful spot . Found the cache after a bit of a nudge from my friend . Thanks for the adventure BonnyBlack.
Even though we had a previous finder in our midst, this one took some time to locate. We were not far off giving up when Mark came up with the goods. Although the title was about coming together, my feet decided to diverge on the approach to this one. It is going to be a long, wet day. I'll say thanks for the cache as you can't see that I am not smiling, lol. Thanks.

Out on an adventure today with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & Mark&Kelly.
It was nice to be out in the open for a while instead of the goat track on which we’d been trekking for the last four.
Took us a long time to find even with a previous finder present.
Cheers BonnyBlack

Found it! Our second traditional find of the day with OzHockeyChick, Geoturtle38 and Papi4506. Great spot with both the creek and the river flowing well after this weeks rain. Cache took a bit of finding but we had this tricky little hide in hand without to much swearing...TFTC...
Great area, but dnf after 30 minutes. PAF and another 15 minutes searching still produced no cache.
My gps said it was right on top of a wombat hole.
Would have been a great general area for a nice big hide
Thanks anyway

I wanted to look in a different spot but the GPS told me that was not the spot. I looked in a perfect spot that matched the hint down to a T. No, not there. I think it was good luck that helped me find this one.

This reserve has been on my list for years. Many a time glancing over the map this area was mostly void of caches, but now an epic puzzle series and trads where in play. A great series with a mixture of terrian both on and off track. With all puzzles solved sometime back between myself and ahomburg it was just a matter of when. Well finally today it was. A total of 6 hours was spent meandering around the park and upto the trig point and back. All caches found, some with very effective camo that made the discovery take longer then expected. Big thanks to the CO for showing me around this impressive flora and fauna reseve with ahomburg today. Total of about 16km and over 25,000 steps according to fitbit. Good stuff. [^]
This one took awhile to find but in the end the coords where actually pretty good. Finally spotted by ahomburg who checked a previous spot I swore was empty, o the shame... a pleasing find.
Nice river views.

After having finally having made my way through the WW puzzles with confirmed coordinates for all, finally my caching partner in crime sedgwickDave and I finally had a free day to hit the hills of Warramate and more. We had a big day with over 15km of walking and over 600m of vertical ascent, we certainly worked hard for our terrain stars. The weather was mainly pretty good, overcast with the sun occasionally showing itself and also a couple of very quick showers. It was a great day.
Headed off the main trail a little for this one, but such a fantastic location. Cache actually took some time to locate, but a worthy spot for a cache and a Favourite point left behind for the CO.
Many thanks to BonnyBlack for the cache. TNLN.

We searched and searched for this one but no luck. Beautiful spot by the river though.
This was the one I was most looking forward to finding today. It's the site of one of my first cache hides "Meeting of the waters" in 2002. I love the muddy waters of Woori Yallock creek mixing in with the Yarra. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. After a 30 minute search in every possible location and getting covered in dirt in the process I have come up empty handed. Not a good way to end but it's been a great walk and I found 10 with only 3 dnfs. Thanks for the trail. Maybe if I can ever get a clue on the other mysteries I will return.
This was a great location to end our caching mission. The flowing creek oops, I mean river makes for a nice back drop for a cache. We expanded our search area at GZ. SP has been on a roll all day as he scores another find here.
Thanks BonnyBlack
Thanks BonnyBlack
This was to be our final find for the day and a lovely location by the river here too. We commenced our search and trying likely spots I was pleased to spot the hide. Time for a photo of the river and then we headed off for the walk back to the car.
This was found with abl973 while exploring this great park that we hadn't visited before. Thanks to BonnyBlack for the cache.

I ran out time for two of these traditionals the very first time I visited this reserve, about a year ago. It really *is* a fine location, as has already been noted. The gadget wasn't being as helpful as it could have been when I first arrived, but I eventually identified the right place to look and...there was the wee cache. By definition, I guess, given I already called it "the right place to look". Thanks BonnyBlack!
Over the last few months 88andy88 has been introducing me to geocaching.
Took a while for me to grasp it all and have finally joined up so now i am backtracking logs of the caches i have been to to find with 88andy88....
Thanks for the cache.....
PS: the cut and pastes will stop but as most say Andy writes logs big enough for both of us lol

2/4/17 4:19 pm #2347 Today while doing some training and skme fitness for my hockey season that is about to begin myself and my lovely GF RoxyP decided to come back to this awesome area and do some more of the local caches....
This one was found by RoxyP while i was looking a little bit away.
We loved this area and this sadly enough was our last for the day of this series. Completed now and ticked an amazing series that was so much fun to complete!
We have done the puzzles in the rain and the short hikes in the sunshine.
This series has no where near enough credit given that it deserves!
Fantastic and thankyou for the awesome amazing series!
A fav from me and a thanks for the asventure!!!!

We found this cache today at 2:30pm as number 9 of 13 on our Warramate Wander. The co-ords were pointing us out in the clearing a few metres but we used cache sense to hone in on the hide. We visited this spot for the cache "Meeting of the Waters" by Quasar way back in 2004. Back then, we had to walk all the way in here for just the one cache - and that was pretty typical back then.
After the cache find, I found the need to sit and rest and we walked back to the actual confluence for a sit and a drink and a snack. I couldn't understand why I was feeling a bit listless as the walk today wasn't too bad and we were now into the easier section. Thanks from D and H B-A.

Found it! The fallen tree provided an extra obstacle course on top of a wayward GPSr at GZ. It also provided a good place to sit and look. A hiding place was soon spotted and then another. It always pays to look properly at the first hiding place. TFTC SL [:]]
A tree has fallen and partially blocked GZ, but a geotrail should get you there.
Spending the day doing caches nominated in the 2016 cache of the year awards. After a great big trek all we managed to find was a wombat strolling along on the way to GZ but sadly no cache. Unfortunately it got the better of us today. Thanks for the cache and congratulations on the nomination.

Hi Bonnyblack, thanks for bringing me here once again. Trailstevo and I headed out late tonight with half a plan. Initially stumbled at the bridge works blocking our access, so went the really long way round and parked the car. Set off from the car at 9.15pm, first wombat took 100m to spot, then the first cache, second cache with some creative night time path making, then across the boggy grass, over the hill to the damn. Spotted a few Roos, another wombat, and what we thought could be a dragon, nope.... Turned out to be a deer. Saw 3 deer in total. Picked up the last of the cache and back into car after 2 hrs. Bit fresh and windy out tonight, but as I tell my friends (who think I'm made going out at night), you don't see much wildlife in you front room! TFTC
Fun trek in the dark to pick up the WW series. Cross country through puddles. Tftc
After attending the WWFM XIII event with n0w0rries we headed out to Warramate to go on a FTF hunt for the three caches published the previous afternoon.
Arriving at the parking location, after a long detour and driving through thick fog to get there, we saw what we believed to be another cacher's car (who else would be mad enough to be out here at 5am) and a torch light heading off in the distance.
We started walking in and a decision was made to head to this cache and then go on to the others. This decision delivered a joint {FTF} to n0w0rries and I.
We searched around in the dark unable to truly appreciate the beauty of the area that we discovered on a return trip after day break.
Thank you for bringing me out to this beautiful part of the world. And thank you for the cache.

{FTF} with Ruverbug Jam at 6:30am on 5/6/16.
I haven't slept since Friday night and even then it was a late night for us.
A couple of flash mob events, some caching and an Escape Room in Geelong.
It has certainly been a big weekend.
21,000+ steps up so far today. Time to sit and catch up on some logs.
After the 3:00 am event Ruverbug Jam drove us here to find some more caches.
Arriving at the locked gate we noticed a suspicious looking vehicle parked nearby.
The light from a torch was also spotted a few hundred metres ahead on the trail.
Making our way down here, we were following boot prints in the mud but thankfully, none on the last section.
At GZ we played the sat dance under the wet tree cover for some time until the cache was finally discovered.
Gingerly opening the log to reveal...... nothing.... yep, nothing written on the log.
As unlikely as it seemed to us at the time, we were actually the first to find this cache.
Thanks for the walk in the park, in the dark, with the reflective eyes of a few kangaroos not too far away.
We will have to come back here in daylight to have a good look at the confluence.
By the way J. congrats on your 1,000th find. Well done mate! [^]

2nd to find. After meeting n0w0rries and Ruverbug Jam at the previous cache where we shared FTF honours, we traveled back to this cache which the others had already logged and they waited for me to do my bit. After a bit of searching about I was given a small hint as the gps was not cooperating here very much at all, and eventually manged to find the sneaky little bugger and made my mark. The 3 of us headed down the track together before parting company as they went off in search of the caches I had found yesterday, while i headed back to the car and off home. It is almost 4pm Sunday as I write this and I haven't slept since Friday night, so I expect I shall sleep well tonight. Thanks once again BonnyBlack for the caches and the adventure, and thanks for bringing me here to explore some of this lovely area.
This was a pretty spot. Very quiet, serene, and a great place to hide a cache. As I was walking down here I began thinking ***this*** **is the kind of geocaching you see on so many online videos**. That is to say, walking across light terrain in to a little known area to find a little cache hidden away. It's all about the location, not the container.
Thanks BonnyBlack for the series that pushed me, but not too hard. The dilemma was now to decide if I should climb up to grab *Tower of Cirith Ungol* ([GCJYAQ](http://coord.info/GCJYAQ)). Decisions, decisions.
