Day 15 of our Beachmere housesit.

Today, we were going on the Ferryman Cruise on the Pumistone Passage, but at the last minute, due to bad weather, it was cancelled. So, instead, muggle sister suggested a drive in the country. Of course, that meant finding a cache or ten.

The route we took from Caboolture, via Diagular to Mt Mee and Dayboro, before returning via Petrie.....

Wish catcher put log book in a good way to make it easier for the next cacher to extract.

Thanks Glam78

My husband and I were on our way to check out a friends camping spot at neurum creek and we were picking up smileys along the way home to Brisbane. We went to the wrong side of the road first but once on the right side we soon spotted this cache. Thankyou for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy

TFTC. We have stayed behind in Dayboro for an extra couple of weeks. No reason to move when there are so many caches. Today we decided to head up to Mt Mee to do some exploring and seeing where we end up. We had been up this way previously but with school holidays the roads were busy and not always easy to pull up. No traffic today.
A quick find. There is no lid on the container, so some TLC is needed.

I had missed the good parking spot on my way past the first time round so I had to come back for another crack after doing the rest of the caches in the area. Then I overshot the mark when I was walking toward GZ. I need to pay more attention clearly. Good job I'm on holidays. tftc

Out with Chamad for half the day today. It was a bit of a late start, but we still managed 16 finds.

The day started at Wamuran after catching up with Grannysmith1947 to grab a cache with her. Once we finished up Chamad and I were discussing where we should go next. He said he needed a few more caches towards the north to fill in his 360 from home, so that's when we decided to head towards D'Aguilar, Mount Mee and back down to Dayboro.

Most finds were pretty straight forward, some were a bit of a struggle, but that's part of the game. There was plenty of people around, which is to be expected at the moment as they've eased back on the restriction.

I've forgotten how beautiful this area is, I don't come this way very often, so it's great to be able to escape the city live and spend a few hours out in the country. The recent rain we had not long ago has really brought this area back to life, everything is so green and bursting with life. It was a great day to be outdoors today, plus it wasn't hot either, which is always welcome.

Find #895 - TFTC

Out with GeoNayfee for the afternoon collecting some valuable target caches and a few as we passed by. We started at Wamuran head up to D’Aguilar and then down to Mt. Mee. It was a late start to the day but we still got a few in for the day. I was sitting at home when I got a call from GeoNayfee hey I’m going to do a few caches want to come along, how can I say no.
This was the seventh for the day and a quick stop near GZ and a short walk and the cache was spotted. However as the position of the cache is very close to the road I’m sure people driving by did wonder what we were doing there. Log was quickly signed and cache replaced and we were soon on our way again.
Thanks for placing the cache here for us all.

Coordinates changed from:
S 27° 3.171 E 152° 46.138

Coordinates changed to:
S 27° 3.172 E 152° 46.134

Distance from original: 23.3 feet or 7.1 meters.

Cache relocated a short distance due to the long grass that made accessing the cache quite difficult and dangerous.

28-Apr-19
A quick find by M here. Not sure that I would have found it. It is easy though! We did not feel that this one was unsafe (as per previous cachers) as you are standing behind the guard rail and the road is not very busy.

27-Apr-19
Not kid friendly.
Didn’t feel very safe parked up here and not a safe area for grandkids to be wandering around searching. Too close to the busy weekend road, Gave up quickly and moved on to our next cache.
Thanks anyway. Might try another day when it’s not so busy. And perhaps when we do t have grandkids with us. Smile

After a couple of DNF's I thought I would check up on this cache.
It is still in it's correct spot but the grass around it is quite long.

DND on this one!

30-Mar-19
With drizzling rain there was not much traffic on this road today giving us plenty of time to look undisturbed. Mrs George and I both spent over 15 minutes searching up and down either side of where the GPS thought was GZ, but we found no sign of the cache. I think I looked here once before but on a sunday in fine weather with lots more traffic, so I didn't spend too long then. We shall have to have another look next visit.

Last day before going back to work after Xmas, so what better way to spend it than catching up on some geocaching. We hadn't been to the Mt Mee area for a while, so headed out this way for a drive.
Found an edge of the road to pull over on and wandered down towards the creek. Bungo is quite brown and muddy at the moment.
Soon had the cache in hand but took longer to extract the tightly wedged log.

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us. Wink

Its the end of the year as we know it. So we headed out from Woodford showgrounds to travel Mt Mee tourist drive and find a few caches along the way before returning to an event to finish our Geo Year. Cool

Found on our Saturday day out with geokids - on a way to the D'Aguilar national park. It was hard to resist not to pick few geocaches on our way there. Smile

This one was our first and it was fast & easy. Initially we searched obvious fero-magnetic places, but after while we've followed geo-path straight to the destination.

Geo kids greeted with local cows and we've moved again. We had a very nice day out & lakes lookout and Rocky hole then.

Thanks for a nice cache @Clan-Mess!

Monday. Both Slow Punctures were out in the Wamuran/D'Aguilar area in search of caches.

Drove past this one in error and had to turn around. Finding a nearby park proved difficult, so Kerry alighted whilst Luke parked nearby after once again having to turn around. Kerry soon had the cache in hand after a short search.

This was the 5th of 9 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***Clan-Mess***, for showing us this place. Smile

After we overshot the mark, we then spent a bunch of time walking through some long grass following geotrails to nowhere. At one stage I thought I was following a trail and suddenly there was no ground beneath my feet. It was just like a cartoon. I could feel air below my boot and still had time to turn to my daughter and draw an exclamation mark in the air with smoke before gravity took a hold. At one stage I thought we were going to have to bash through chest high grass until we spotted an entrance to the road only 10 metres away. Why do we make it so hard for ourselves?

The cache wasn't turning up in our search area so the daughter did the right thing and checked some past logs. Naturally we weren't searching anywhere near where we should be. After a quick readjustment we found our target. There were some Ringo/Rungo jokes when we were tooling around and I had to burst into a lead solo break. tftc
