Logs
At the beginning of my caching career, GreenGecko1 laid out an agenda of caching each capital city. I'm happy to report 6 states down and only one to go.This weekend was our allocated visit time, unfortunately it arrived on the back of the recent Dunedin Mega epic.Arriving in town Thursday night at 11pm, we grabbed our hire car and set off south.A relatively quick find here. Utilising our skillset GG1 was up and down again in a flash.Caches signed as either Muggle65 or M65.
With no ladder in our suitcase, l am very glad l could get this one. Thank you for the fun
Gave this one a go years ago but too many muggles then I moved away. Back today and no-one around so I was able to scamper up and sign the log. TFTC
We are visiting Perth for a few days, and enjoying our time here as tourists, as well as having fun finding a few geocaches along the way.Mrs Domsky always enjoy the challenge and fun of a tree climb, and there have been decidedly few since we hit Western Australia. It was great to be out this morning and have the opportunity for a nice climb and now our name is in the log. Thanks Snitchbolt Domsky
Great hide bit hard for my 72 year old husband to climb up to but got it log signed and replaced TFTC
After 8 years of being hidden and found but otherwise being left alone, it was drawn to my attention that this one went missing in the last few weeks. So, we have made the effort to replace it in exactly the same position as before (you will need to climb) and this time we hope it lasts as long as the previous one did. The hide has a new waterproof log in it. Enjoy!
What. The. Heck. This was SO GOOD! Also really hard, but with the help of others images, I eventually managed to track it down. The paper is soggy, and needs replacing, and I didnt have any on me. I couldnt write on the log, so a pic of proof with the green wristband as usual.
Did a quick check on this one today. It is still nicely in place and in good condition. Enjoy!
Narrowed down where to look and started the ascent to search from height, in the end ICN spotted the container from the ground and directed me in the right direction to make the find. The mission for this evening with I C Nothing & monkeywand was to target caches with plenty of favourites to assist with working towards the final challenge souvenir. We started in Subiaco and worked our way through to City Beach, Churchlands and Trigg before turning for home.Tonight I tallied 12 finds and 1 DNF. Thanks Snitchbolt for placing Up for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 22:04 on 19/9/2023.This is find number 7662 for me.
Out for a night of caching with Cirrus_WA and ICNothing, heading NOR picking up those with multiples faves (and any others that catch our fancy). TFTF!
Arrived but can't see the cache, so give up,
oops.. plus muggles play the cricket .
Another time, bring a buddy.

Ooo that's a tall one. Few to many early muggles around to chamber up the tree. Tftc
Found this one but too high for us and didn’t have a tool. Sending photo to owner
Briefly had a look while coming back from the park with a baby in a pram and with it getting close to bed time I decided I would come back when I could do a better look. 1 climb and a look around later and I found it what I need.
Took to of us in the tree to find it but got there in the end. Very cool cache
The coordinates were on point and the name said it all which made it an easy find. It involved a bit of climbing but great cache. TFTC
Finally... with the help of my trusty TOTT and the steadying hands of Dogwalk61 I made the climb and got this one. So glad I was able to replace it one handed as the other was holding on for dear life. TFTC
Hmm I stopped off here today as I need more caches with the tree climbing attribute... soon spotted it but higher than hoped and not game to make the climb solo. Will need to think about this one and hatch a plan
Out with Meme28 today collecting some caches. All caches found in good condition. Thanks for placing for our enjoyment.
This took us quite a while to spot as we checked a couple of options out before narrowing it down. Once we'd seen it we grabbed the TOTT and I think it my my turn to go up.
Thanks Snitchbolt
With the Wangaratta mega postponed, I suggested to stainless steel rat that perhaps a Perth trip was in order, knowing full well he hadn’t graced the West yet. We used up one of our last airline credits and with a little top up we were set. As usual we had a hit list of high D/Ts, virtuals (although I had done most on previous trips), oldies, large caches and favoured ones. We only scratched the surface but had a blast doing it.
We brought a ladder and pole with us but kayaks were going to be way too much to cope with on a five day whirlwind visit! Thanks to the many CO’s for their hides, maintenance and assistance.

this one took us a bit to find and after that it was a small mater of getting the TOTT out of the car and grabbing the cache.
Myself and Goose had many plans for the tickets we used for this trip, i cant remember the details but I think it was three canceled Mega's and after the last cancellation we only had so long to use up the tickets and with a little bit of cash added we worked out we could have to a trip to Perth to hunt for some fine looking caches.
A 'shortlist' of 587 caches was put together for the trip albeit with the PQs of the whole state as a backup just in case we wanted to forgo sleep, in the end we found 120ish caches in 4 and a bit days, 60 of which were in the 4WD FOTT Go Bush series.
While we were over we got a chance to go to a GIFF Event and briefly meet a few of you locals, thanks for the chat.
Thanks for the cache.

It took a while to find but if you’re scared of heights trying not to type this
I eventually spotted it, but didn't want to attempt the climb during what had become peak hour for dog walking muggles.
Based on previous logs, it seems as though many cachers have been content with spotting rather than signing in order to claim the find.

Found the cache but having bad knees couldn't climb up so high. Took a picture and will send it to the CO. Tftc
Did a quick check on this one today. It is still nicely in place and in good condition. Enjoy!
CAUTION: we found a needle in the immediate area of the cache. Will report to council but take care!
Soon as I thought don’t drop the plastic bag holding the log - what happened? Yep. Had to go done get it and go back up. TFTH
Out finding some caches With B12 on a rather warm day. The coolest for a few days to come by the sounds of it so had to make the most of it. TFTH
Nice climb for an adult. The young one found it difficult to climb. A few scratches on the way down
Out and about grabbing a few caches before Mr OOH YEH had an appointment. All caches were found. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches
Headed out today to cleanup a few caches North of home. Started with a couple south and then a loop through Mosman park, Wembley Downs, Woodlands, East Perth, Maylands and then back through the city to home in Cockburn.
Had a great morning out with all finds and good to cleanup a couple of DNFs from previous visits.
Thanks to the local COs for their caches and I look forward to finding more down the track.

A quick find thanks to the ladder Mr fratra recieved for his birthday.
TFTC Snitchbolt this is find # 5831 for us.

We were the ground crew for thronsy.4 on this one
A bit strange to climb a tree with mini me and the Little Man at the bottom calling Mummy without some company
I think the terrain rating for this one is a bit too high but TFTC

Out with Thro60clan, Mini Me, and Little Man. First to the tree, first to climb! Made the find pretty quickly. Tftc
Find 13 of 16 on a pleasant MTB ride through Star Swamp and down to Doubleview/Scarbs and back.
Second visit. Last time we bounced between three trees but this time a previous image and the co-ords seemed to be more decisive. Once we focussed on the right tree the cache was soon spotted from the ground and Mr. O. was up it like a rat up a drain pipe. A nice climbing tree and thankfully not too far up it.
TFTC Snitchbolt!

My 3rd time here and today I had jendavo01 to guide me, finding and signing was easy. Getting the cage back together was tricky. Tftc and the adrenaline rush as I’m petrified of heights
Skyryser did the climbing while I was navigating him from the ground. Tftc The-Shredder
I saw this one from the bottom, but as I climbed I lost sight of it on the way so I had to relocate it again! Nevertheless, ended up signing the log while balancing on a branch. Worth a favourite; always love climbing trees, thanks
I, MontsII found your cache while on holidays in WA. I took my grandson to his very first geocache. At just a couple of weeks old he did not climb the tree! TFTC Snitchbolt
I did a maintenance run today at this one and a few others. This one is still in place and in good order. You just need to use your eagle eyes to spot it.
With a guest bedroom to finish off and a calendar day to fill, we came past here after our trip to a trusted Swedish furniture store. The kids love the odd high challenge, so we chose this one very carefully. We got close to GZ and looked up. Saw a baby magpie and the parents nearby, then realised with great relieve we had to try another tree. Phew, I would have not been ready to try my luck with those two beaks guarding their young. Anyway, once we established we are no danger to the little bird, our littlest bird decided it was his turn to claim a find on a tree climbing cache. Since he's still rather short, it took him a couple of tries to get himself into the right position to retrieve the logbook. The beaming smile on his face was the reward for the patience. Once signed, dad needed to put everything back into place. Little arms can only reach that far. Kids love climbing caches, this one was no exception, worth a favourite. TFTC
We did get spied by some muggles but we said we were looking for a small ball belonging to our son. They bought the story and moved on. The cache was spotted quickly after that. The log was signed and replaced. Thanks Snitchbolt. Greetings from Ballarat, Victoria.
Today we were out to reach 200 geocache finds but unfortunately we only reached 199. How annoying!
We arrived at GZ with us looking "up" and had no difficulty finding the cache.
A great way to hide a cache from muggles!
TFTC Snitchbolt!
That brings us to 197 finds now!
Cheers,
Nickag73

I was in the area today, and so I decided that I would have a go at tackling this cache. I got to GZ and climbed the tree. It took me a few minutes to locate the cache, but that was nothing compared to the time it took me to replace it. I was having trouble doing it one-handed, but I eventually got it.
Snitchbolt, I found your cache ‘Up’ today. It was the First find of three finds for me today and brings my total count to 784. The cache was found in a good condition so I added my signature to the log book and I replaced it as I found it. Thank you for the cache, the hide and for bringing me to this location.

Out caching with geo-buddy on beautiful day. This certainly tested my climbing skills. TFTC!
A fun little climb to this one ... even with my dodgy foot . There were photos taken i'm sure, just not by my phone. Actually signed the log with a pen!.. haha.
TFTC Snitchbolt ... all good with this newly maintained cache [^]

Located cache easy enough however once up the tree I dropped my pen... seeing I have a broken arm it was difficult enough to climb just once... was about to do it twice...hopefully the close up pic of cache proves I was up there!
Thanks for cache
Thanks for cache
Out for a spot of geocaching with the geodaughter. She made the climb. Another box on my D/T filled. TFTC
Found this with the Geodad after spotting from the ground. Awesome cache and a good chance to have a climb TFTC
Did maintenance on this one and reattached it to a slightly different part of the tree so it can be retrieved reasonably simply. Its there but a little tricky to see. When retrieving it please unscrew the bottom of the container and leave the top in place. Please do not remove or damage the ties that keep it in place. The bottom can be screwed back into the top of the container with a little bit of effort.
Took us ages to spot the cache, but a quick grab once we had laid eyes on it. Lucky I had the geoson with me to do the dirty work! TFTC
TFTC snitchbolt a quick easy find and then did the climb and whilst perched like a canary signed the log.
Geo son went up first but couldn't spot it so super dad came to the rescue, thanks!
Spotted from the ground so up I went. Log quite damp so probably needs replacing. TFTC
