TFTC on a visit from Tassie decided to have a look at Port MacDonnell on our way back to Portland from Mount Gambier
Staying down this way for a couple of nights and today, after finding a few selected multis in Mount Gambier, headed down to Port MacDonnell, hoping to clear the area of unfound physical caches. Had a rewarding day, dodging the showers, sometimes, and only missed one traditional that, without swimming, was never going to be found in the all too few hours spent in this lovely little seaside village, hope it stays that way.
The first in Port MacDonnell and a quick find thanks to the hint.
Thanks Travelling Sister for putting out this cache for all to find.
Cache #13384 for me.
This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).

Found this by seeing the top of something in the long grass. Obviously not where it was meant to be. I placed it in the most likely spot I could come up with. Will message CO to check. Tftc
Met up with some local cachers after arriving in the Mount Gambier area early in the afternoon. Completed an AL at the cemetery then found a few caches. Great way to learn about the local area. Thanks for the cache.
Day 7 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today was our first day caching with albida, Sol de lune & smittengranny. We signed as MAFSS to save room. Some of us may have rebelled and signed FAMSS instead. It was a bit dreary and windy but we didn’t get too wet.
The aim was to collect a couple of counties, old caches to finish my Ausmer calendar, and just to have fun.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
Love a Mary MacKillop cache. Nice to knock off another.

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 7. Today we had a full day to explore around the Mt Gambier region, with a few older caches targeted plus many others on our list. We started heading along the south coast which was spectacular to see. This was an interesting location. Quick find at GZ. Signed, replaced, then we headed off to the next one on our list.
Thanks Travelling Sister !! Another one crossed off.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 8. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 2. After a driving day yesterday to wrap up the mega weekend, today was a trip from Mount Gambier down to the southern coast line with Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and me (albida33). F.A.M.S.S was the initial in the logs today. Our goal in this region was to visit the two old caches out this way and a few others that are nearly as old. We also managed about ten Earth caches and even went for a walk or two. We ended the day with caching and LABs around Mount Gambier before retiring for a home cooked meal at the caravan park.
Thanks for the cache Travelling Sister

Headed to Mount Gambier after the Rutherglen Mega with fitzy_1965, Albida33, Minniek, and Smittengranny. We signed all logs as FAMSS.
We targeted a few older caches, a few multi's, a few puzzles always as well as a couple of earthcaches.......and really anything else we had time for.
This one was a quick find and the log was soon signed.
Thanks TS....

Today there were two cars of geobuddies travelling around this area collecting a variety of caches based on age, type and favourites. It was an incredibly successful day and thanks must go to all COs for placing such interesting and sometimes challenging caches. This was one of the caches we found and all were signed either as MAFSS or FAMSS , as the group consisted of minniek, Albida33 Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and myself Smittengranny.
Quick easy find! Nice place yo stretch your legs between stops! Thanks for the hide
We are on our way to the Rutherglen Mega. Today we travel from Millicent to Mount Gambier. We saw lots of pine forests for the toilet & tissue papermill in Tantanoola.
A quick trip to Port MacDonnell to get the MM cache. Turns out Port MacDonnell has the largest lobster fleet, so instead of Robe, try here!

TFTC. We are camped at Penola for the week. Each day we head out to explore and cache. Today we headed out to Port MacDonnell. The main aim was to find the 2001 Lady Nelson Views. Once that was achieved we made our way back along the coast toward the town, caching as we went.
A great day with the rain holding off.

As we have travelled, we often enjoy finding this series along the way. We found this one today, in the beautiful town of Port MacDonnell.
It really is serene and rugged at the same time.

On a cold windy winters night the kids almost got blown away when looking for the capsule. Great fun for the whole family. Thank you
Very nice quick and easy find here.
Very appropriate as Mrs Riddell is currently undertaking the Aussie Camino based on Mary McKillop!!!
TFTC
Photo of an egg on the ground, still warm and very close to GZ… can anyone identify it? Wonder if it’s from a black hooded plover. Though there were no obvious parents around.

Decided on a drive from Mt Gambier to Port Macdonnell. So glad we did. What an amazing place. The sea swell was huge. Waves breaking a distance out. Watched a crayboat being launched into the marina area. Thank you for placing this cache out. Easy find.
First catch of the day. A few muggles around but waited our turn. SL and returned as found.
Found it! The fish weren't biting so decided to geocache! Fun trying to find it true to the hint!
